I had the pleasure of eating at Restaurant Lava in Usingen for work and it was an all around great experience! The two hosts, Tarik and Ömer, are incredibly friendly and personable - you immediately feel welcome. The atmosphere is very inviting and cozy. I found it particularly nice that you can watch the tennis players while you eat. The food was simply outstanding – fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. I can really recommend the restaurant to everyone and will definitely come back. A completely successful visit!

After celebrating my birthday with many guests at Lava a few days ago, we were guests again today in a small group. The food was great, the service outstanding. Nice restaurant with a good selection of food and drinks. Lunch menu with five dishes for the same price. Well attended, but still quick service. Friendly staff. Unfortunately no Visa cards are possible when paying, only debit cards. Overall okay, I would happily recommend it.

From Frankfurt to Usingen in 25 minutes, but the journey is worth it to eat here. Nice atmosphere next to tennis courts, extremely tasty food, nice service, great desserts, and parking right in front of the door. Everything was just right and we will definitely make the trip out of the city again. Conclusion: A clear yes to a visit to Lava Usingen.

The winter garden couldn't be more uncomfortable Very closely placed together. Fries cold Ready-made vegetables tasteless. Ordered mayonnaise can't be done at all Nobody asks if you want something to drink. The service still has a lot of room for improvement. You tip girls with smiles and friendliness.

Super nice service team. Excellent quality. I was there with my father and a friend. We had rump steak in the house style with a fine cognac sauce, rump steak with fresh chanterelles and a gourmet schnitzel with Bernaîse sauce. All dishes were on point. The portions are too big for me, but the other two made it. BRAVO LAVA TEAM!!! We were on the beautiful terrace.

Die Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich.. es hätte nur noch ein Schriftzug auf der Stirn gefehlt: "Muss Ihr sonntags hier essen kommen !" Die Bestellung wurde nicht notiert und promt falsch gebracht. Mir ist eine freundliche Bedienung und höfliches Auftreten sehr wichtig, deshalb werde ich nicht mehr hin gehen.

I ordered Rigatoni Gorgonzola but unfortunately I got penne. You had to provide your own drinks supplies. Also for dessert. We weren't even asked if we wanted anything else. Plates were also cleared away very late and at 10 p.m. we were told we were closing now. I don't go there anymore.

We always enjoy coming here. The previous owner was great, but the current team is even better! The menu offers an excellent selection and the staff is very friendly. Both the beer garden and the interior area are well-kept and cozy. The prices are fair and the food is delicious. A wonderful place to enjoy and relax

I recently had dinner here with friends and it was very good. The food didn't take too long and it tasted great too. The waitresses were very friendly and asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. I also think the furnishings are very nice and the price-performance ratio is very good here.

There were four of us in the restaurant. The waitress was very attentive and took excellent care of our table throughout the evening. I ate lamb chops and tiramisu for dessert. Both were very tasty. The pricing is very fair. Overall, I can only recommend the Lava restaurant and will be back soon.

Wir kamen mit Freunden gegen 14.00 h und hatten befürchtet, dass die Küche schon langsam schließt - die Küche blieb aber (für uns?) bis 15.00 h geöffnet. Das Essen kam schnell und war frisch zubereitet. Die Qualität war sehr gut (z.B. argentinisches Rumpsteak mit Cognac-Sauce, Gemüse, Bratkartoffeln und Salat; Doradenfilet mit Beilagen und Salat...) und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist fair. Der Service war freundlich und schnell. Es gibt eine große Aussenterrasse, aber auch einen stilvoll eingerichteten Innenbereich. Das Restaurant ist Bestandteil der Tennisanlage von Usingen, in der Nähe liegt der Hattsteinweiher, ein kleiner Badesee, der ab dem 04. Mai für die Saison eröffnet wurde.

Grilled chicken frozen molded meat, no meat structure or taste. This was known because there had already been complaints and was still served. Afterwards there was a discussion about pay with the boss. Have enjoyed visiting the restaurant in the past. Unfortunately now for the last time.

The service could be a little friendlier and ask for drinks more often

The second attempt was also not a satisfactory experience. Grilled chicken, frozen shaped meat, no meat structure visible, frozen or canned vegetables and 5 french fries... Price-performance doesn't fit at all. There were so few fries on four people's plates that a separate portion was ordered... Service rather uninterested and listless, no interest in further orders. Unfortunately no more recommendation, what a shame!

Been there for dinner for the second time. Sea bream and salmon fried according to my opinion. Grilled chicken fillet was frozen pressed meat. Canned or frozen vegetables. Overall not recommended. The prices don't fit either. Service was unmotivated and didn't even ask if you wanted anything else. The restaurant was already empty at 8:15 p.m. Previously 3 tables. There's obviously a reason for that. Let's not go there anymore.

We stood in our motorhome on a large meadow above and ate there two days in a row because it was simply delicious. The house-style steak was grilled to perfection medium rare on lava. The noodles are also a culinary delight. Thanks for the recommendation (from the boss). Very, very nice service, also when it comes to information about what you can do in the area. 1 minus point, but it's not that important, a bit noisy because there are also spectators from the tennis hall and you have to walk awkwardly past all the people to get to the toilet. Nice service and the food was very tasty

Very good food - especially the rump steaks are excellent! We have eaten at Lava several times and have never been disappointed! The service is also top. Friendly, fast and flexible!

It turned out as feared, the "schnitzel" reminded me a little of the Metro's frozen convenience products. I thought it was an Italian restaurant. That wasn't the case. The food was neutral in taste. The two young ladies in service weren't very interested in the customer, as I could tell from their facial expressions. All in all there will be no second visit.

Today I had the rump steak with herb butter, mushrooms and onions - very nicely prepared and really tasty. It definitely wasn't the last time here.

A few degrees warmer in the restaurant would be nice

A restaurant in a tennis hall. We were here for two years and had very good memories of everything - especially the food. This year (2023) we were here for Christmas and the service staff was obviously overwhelmed and stressed and unfortunately that also spread to customers present. The food was OK, but not worth nearly 40 euros per menu. The menu was significantly limited at Christmas and the cheapest menu started at over 30 euros. This is now questionable pricing. Nevertheless, the day was nice and we will definitely come back - but no longer on public holidays with the shortened and overpriced holiday menu.

We were there for the first time and will definitely come back. The service was great and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Price-performance ratio is right here.

New Year's Eve menu was served too quickly, a table was ordered at 7 p.m., we were through at 8 p.m.! Too loud and too bright in the winter garden. Food was delicious!

Staff is nice and friendly. Ambience is just acceptable. Toilets at the tennis club are decent though. Food had a lot of sauce, little taste. Canned vegetables as a side dish. That's better. Price was not suitable for the menu and the quality.

Ein Stern ist noch zu viel! Wir haben einen Tisch für unsere Familie reserviert. Dort angekommen, wurden uns Menü-Karten vorgelegt, mit fest zusammen gestellten Menüs, welche natürlich auch sehr teuer waren. Die Wahl eines einzelnen Hauptgangs war untersagt. Entweder Vorspeise, Hauptspeise und Nachtisch oder man hat eben Pech gehabt. Hierzu wurde nichts angekündigt, es gab keinerlei Infos im Vorfeld. Am Ende durfte man dann auch noch das Wasser, was auf dem Tisch stand, bezahlen. Dreistigkeit. Auch hier gab es keinerlei Infos vorab. Und oben drauf war das Essen auch noch schlecht. Frohe Weihnachten. Ich hoffe ihr könnt euch an dem Geld durch eure Abzocke bereichern. PS.: Auf das Trinkgeld wurde gerne verzichtet. Danke für Nichts!

Nur 3 Sterne: das Personal ist recht muffelig. Danke/bitte Fehlanzeige. Sehr leise und nur mit den nötigsten Worten beim servieren. Das Steak super, aber die Pommes "abgezählt" (Pommes aber lecker). Und leider war bei unserer größeren Gruppe ein Teil schon fertig essen als die letzten Leute ihr Essen gekamen. Schade, das muss so nicht sein. Da geht definitiv mehr Service!

Die Servicekraft ist die beste und netteste im Taunus. Wir sind öfter mal da und es passt immer wieder. Top Qualität und Service. Samstags gibt es immer Doradenfilet und das ist richtig Lecker. Die Rumpsteaks waren hervorragend besser geht es nicht. Wir waren 8 Personen und haben gleichzeitig das Essen bekommen und alles richtig heiß.

Bei sonnigen 26 Grad ein sehr leckeres 😋 Essen auf der Terrasse genossen! Mittagstisch!

Restaurant mit Tennishallenflair.

Das Restaurant liegt in der Nähe von Hattsteiner in Usingen; gehört eigentlich Tennisclub aber man kann auch so dahin. Es ist sauber,das Essen ist schnell fertig. Eine ganze Familie arbeitet dort,die Eltern in der Küche und Kinder in Service. Alle nett, freundlich und professionell. Die Preise sind gut für die großen Portionen;)

Nachdem ständig die Besitzer dieses Restaurants wechselten, hat sich diese Familie etabliert. Auch die Corona Zeit haben sie überstanden - zum Glück! Anfangs konnte man einfach hingehen, inzwischen sollte man einen Tisch reservieren. Herzlich, familiär, tolles Essen. Eine kulinarische Bereicherung für die Region.

Sehr freundliches Personal bei gutem essen zu fairen preisen.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker, aber der Service wirkt auf mich eher mäßig freundlich (als Gast wünsche ich mir ein Lächeln) und war zeitweise unaufmerksam. Insgesamt ist mein Eindruck eher durchwachsen.

Erstaunlich was eine „Vereinsgastro“ für Gerichte zubereitet. Wir hatten Dorade und Salat mit Rinderfilet. Top frisch und auf den Punkt gut zubereitet. Auch die Aperitifs waren top gemixed. Hier kommen wir gerne wieder.

Es tut mir leid, aber Schnitzel aus der TK, die ich mir selber nicht bei Aldi & Co. kaufen würde, geschweige denn zubereite. Dazu ungesalzene Pommes (natürlich TK) und ungewürztes TK-Gemüse. Garniert mit Zitrone, Orange und Melone. Das ganz für 15,90 was soll das? Dazu eine Art der Bedienung, die man nur als unterirdisch bezeichnen kann: Bierdeckel, Gläser, Kaffeetassen, alles wurde lieblos auf den Tisch geknallt. Flaschengetränke wurden nicht eingeschenkt. Es gab kein Prost, zum Wohlsein, keine Nachfrage, ob es geschmeckt hat. Ich fühle mich als Gast nicht willkommen und es war sicherlich mein letzter Besuch.

Meine liebe Schwiegermutter hatte die engere Familie (insgesamt waren wir sieben) zum Muttertagsessen eingeladen. Ich hatte Caprese (ein ordentlicher Teller mit Oliven, Peperoni und Salatdeko) und die Gnocchi mit Lachs von der Tageskarte und beides war reichhaltig und sehr schmackhaft. Im Lava selbst gibt es wohl keine Pizza, die gibt es nur im anderen Teil um die Ecke. Aber auf die Karte findet man sicher was. Nachtisch gab es keinen, dazu war ich zu satt. Wir saßen im Wintergarten, das war gemütlich. Es gab auch eine Konfirmationsgesellschaft an dem Tag und andere Tische waren auch gut belegt.

Essen war gut. Aber beim Service muß noch dran gearbeitet werden.

Fleisch war Top, aber die ganzen Fertigprodukte machten den Teller unansehnlich und nicht lecker! Der Service war ok, es ist nur viel zu laut und dadurch war die Kommunikation sehr schwer!

Wir gehen gern ins Lava, das Essen ist sehr lecker und man kann gut draußen sitzen. Aber auch Innen ist es gemütlich.

Wij verbleven een paar dagen in Usingen. Bij toeval naar het restaurant Lava (maandag geopend). Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten, bediening erg vriendelijk. Restaurant is naast een tennisbaan. Een aanrader.

Absolut unterirdisch! Hier gib es frittiertes Tiefkühlschnitzel mit Fertigsoße. Service ist ok, essen leider nicht dem Preis angemessen.

Ich war heute zum zweiten mal im Restaurant "Lava" und muss sagen, dass es von mir in allen Kategorien die volle Punkzahl bekommt. Das Essen ist hervorragend und die Bedienungen sind alle sehr, sehr freundlich und auch schnell. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl dort. Ich komme zu 100% wieder! Ganz großes Lob an dieses tolle Restaurant!

Das Essen war köstlich und definitiv seinen Preis wert. Auch die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Das große Manko aber ist die Akustik. Es war leider ohrenbetäubend laut, und eine entspannte/ diskrete Unterhaltung an keinem Tisch möglich. Sehr schade!

Das Restaurant in der Tennishalle gehört aktuell sicher zu den besseren Gaststuben im Umkreis. Das gilt für die Qualität, den Service und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir waren in den letzten Monaten öfters da und hatten nie etwas zu beanstanden.

Top Restaurant, das Essen hat toll geschmeckt, Bedienung auch sehr freundlich. Und man kann zu Fuß zum Wohnmobil gehen

Ausgesprochen leckeres Essen, sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis und megafreundlicher Service...hier kannst du wirklich jedes Gericht essen. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Rumpsteak, die Fischgerichte oder auch das Indisch Curry mit Reis. Auch der Mittagstisch mit seinen fünf Auswahlgerichten ist klasse.

Ich bin regelmäßig mit Familie und Geschäftsfreunden im Lava. Hervorragendes Essen, insbesondere die Steaks sind einen Besuch wert. Das Restaurant ist familiengeführt und der Service ist exzellent.

Ruhig gelegenes Restaurant an den Tennisplätzen in Usingen. Wir waren zum Mittagstisch dort. Es gibt eine Auswahl von vier Gerichten. Preis Leistung passt. Das Essen war gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Das Restaurant ist sehr sauber. Top Adresse für die Mittagspause.
