Ein sehr schönes Restaurant, in dem man sich sofort wie zu Hause fühlt. Eine sehr nette, zuvorkommende Bedienung und köstliches Essen! Und ein hervorragender Wein!

Es gibt eine überschaubare Anzahl Gerichte (was eher positiv ist) mit einem Hinweis auf der Speisekarte, dass man hier für Schnitzel und Pommes am falschen Ort sei. Es gibt eher lokale Küche, etliches selbst zubereitet, wir fanden es sehr ansprechend. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne nochmal.

Unglaublich leckeres, authentisches Essen und freundlicher Service!

Uns hat es hier sehr gut gefallen und auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Kartoffeln waren frisch gekocht und der Kartoffelstampf war super. Sehr freundlicher Service, ganz schön auf Zack. Zufällig hat unser Bargeld gereicht, sonst wäre es wirklich gut gewesen, man hätte uns schon bei der telefonischen Reservierung gesagt, dass man ausschließlich Cash zahlen kann.

Authentisches, einfaches und leckeres Slow Food. Hausmannskost aus einer gemächlich geführten Küche – aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt! Wir haben sogar die Oma gesehen, die kurz herauskam, um beim Servieren zu helfen 😃

Wir haben hier letztens zu Abend gegessen. Die Bedienung war super freundlich, sehr bemüht und hat sich toll um uns gekümmert. Das Lokal ist klein und gemütlich. Wir hatten als Vorspeise die Senfsuppe, die man auf jeden Fall mal probieren sollte. Unser Geschmack war es nicht, aber das ist ja individuell. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir den Rinderbraten und die Rinder Roulade. Beides mit Knödel und einmal mit Rotkohl und einmal Sauerkraut. Im Großen und Ganzen war alles in Ordnung, aber auch nichts besonderes und dafür preislich eher zu teuer. Hier kann man trotzdem einen schönen Abend verbringen und auch leckeren Wein trinken.

Die 1* Bewertung von eben ist bodenlos - es waren schlichtweg alle Tische schon reserviert und die „Reserviert“-Schilder sind nicht zu übersehen. Wir kamen mit Appetit aber wenig Hunger, konnten Speisen teilen und wurden herzlichst bewirtet. Eine absolute Empfehlung und bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Monschau ein Pflichttermin!

Wahnsinnig freundliches Personal und sehr leckere, gutbürgerliche Küche! Hatten wenig Appetit, daher Portionen zum Teilen bestellt und alle Gerichte in teil-freundlichen Portionen mit Extra-Tellern bekommen. Würde jederzeit wiederkommen, absolute Empfehlung! Reservierung empfohlen.

Ich bestellte Sauerbraten vom Rind mit Soße. Statt drei Stücken (wie in anderen Bewertungen beschrieben) bekam ich nur ein Stück. Für 24,90 Euro halte ich das für Wucher. Danach ging ich zu McDonald's…

Mein Freund und ich haben hier zu Abend gegessen und es war das beste Essen, das wir in Monschau hatten! Sehr authentische deutsche Küche und eine sehr nette Bedienung. Das Fleisch war superzart und lecker. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn wir das nächste Mal in Monschau sind. 😍

Gemütliche Gaststätte mit klassisch deutscher Küche. Das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und war sehr lecker. Die Inhaberin ist herzlich und höchst aufmerksam. Auch auf Sonderwünsche wird mit Freundlichkeit reagiert. Es gibt ein großes Angebot an glutenfreien Gerichten.

Schade, war mittwochs zu, obwohl das Öffnungszeitenschild anders lautete.

Wir riefen gegen Mittag an, um einen Tisch für Samstagabend zu reservieren. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob das normalerweise nötig ist, aber wir wollten sichergehen. Das Essen war fantastisch! Vor allem für den Preis. Wie schon in anderen Bewertungen erwähnt, schmeckt es wie bei Oma zu Hause. Zugegeben, es sieht nicht besonders beeindruckend aus, ich war anfangs etwas voreingenommen, haha, aber es schmeckt wirklich sehr gut. Die Portionen waren auch großzügig! Wir hatten gebratene Schweinshaxe (glaube ich) und Schweinekäse, dazu Sauerkraut, Rotkohl mit Apfel, Kartoffelpüree und Apfelkompott als Beilagen. Alles war köstlich, besonders das Kartoffelpüree hat uns begeistert! Wir hatten auch noch extra Bratwurstsoße dazu – sehr zu empfehlen! Sie passt hervorragend zum Fleisch. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Obwohl sie alle Tische alleine bediente, nahm sie sich die Zeit, uns zu begrüßen und uns gut zu bedienen. Ihr Englisch war nicht perfekt, deshalb haben wir ihre Freundlichkeit sehr geschätzt. Wir gingen pappsatt und zufrieden nach Hause. Vielen Dank!

Wir hatten dort ein Gruppentreffen mit 11 Personen. Herzlichen Dank an die Wirtsleute mit Tochter. Alles hat war super, Kaffee und Kuchen sowie das leckere Abendessen. So gut habe ich lange nicht gegessen. ❤️

It's wonderful that family-run businesses like this still exist. Everything is still cooked from scratch. The parents, even at 70, are still working in the kitchen because they can't find decent staff who want to work in the restaurant industry anymore. It's a scandal in Germany. The service was incredibly friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We were so grateful to be able to get a table for just the two of us. Eating like grandma used to make: True! Home-style cooking of high quality. The restaurant sets itself apart from the international-Mediterranean standard with down-to-earth German dishes. Here, you'll find authentic roasts and roulades with dark sauce. Along with mashed potatoes, dumplings, sauerkraut, red cabbage, and more. I had the grilled knuckle of pork with side dishes and Monschau mustard. A poem; I haven't had such a delicious meal in a long time. Even vegetarians will be satisfied and full with a variety of side dishes. The landlady is very friendly and accommodating. We even managed to get a table at short notice. We'd gladly return.

Positive: Super friendly service. The roast pork was a disgrace. The meat quality was very good, but it had nothing to do with roast. The sauce was a total disaster. The bread dumplings were from Pfanni, but the waitress was honest enough to announce them.

The food is served piping hot, each dish arriving separately on clean white plates and bowls. The colors pop vividly, as if every component is being honored. I came to get what I wanted, and I got it. It’s the consistency that elevates restaurants like these from the rest. Every visit confirms it. Steady cooking, no shortcuts, everything in its place. This is perfect.

The food was really delicious. We had goulash and roast beef with our choice of vegetables. The staff was friendly, and we received excellent service. It wasn't busy because we were early (Wednesday evening). The restroom facilities were very clean. This restaurant isn't located in the heart of Monchau's Altstadt, but it's definitely worth walking a bit further.

A big 🌟 in a small place! The food was simply delicious. At first glance, it seems down-to-earth, but also has unexpectedly unusual nuances (like the seasoning of the Brussels sprouts or the plums in red wine). The concept is that you choose two side dishes for your main course – so clever! Why isn't this more common? We were thrilled with the Brussels sprouts. The knuckle of pork was excellent. I personally didn't like the only thing that I liked was the streaky smoked pork. We called spontaneously on a Saturday evening and were allowed to come by at 8 p.m. The outdoor seating is great, but the interior was also very inviting. We were served by the owner, a nimble and cheerful woman. Hopefully, the restaurant will stay open for a long time and more people will be found to work here 🙌🏼 Due to the limited staff, the wait was rather long. But it was more than worth it. We were full, happy, and not poor.

Based on the positive reviews, we went to the Laufenbach-Stuben for dinner on April 30th with our brown Labrador. I had reserved a table by phone. Very dog-friendly. Nice interior and clean. We had the Sauerbraten and the vegetable schnitzel, both of which were delicious. Good value for money. We would recommend the Laufenbach-Stuben.

Very small and quaint. We waited about 45 minutes for the food, but it was perfect. You're happy to wait an extra 10 minutes for that. Reservations are a must.

Four generations of us visited the restaurant. It was actually by chance, but definitely not our last visit. It will be a must-visit on every visit to Monschau. We had a delicious meal and experienced fantastic service and friendliness. Many greetings and THANKS again to the landlady and the kitchen staff. For dessert the Herrencreme; a kind of liquid vanilla pudding with pieces of chocolate and rum in it. Nice, very knowledgeable service. Small family restaurant. You have to have some patience. Summary: A real alternative to restaurants with a traditional menu, because they still serve home-style cooking... In detail: We were there on a Wednesday evening. We made a reservation by phone for 7:00 PM and asked if we could bring our dog. A table was no problem, and a medium-sized dog was no problem. We had smoked pork with mashed potatoes and red cabbage, and beef goulash with boiled potatoes and red cabbage. Both dishes were very, very tasty. As a fan of delicious sauces, I was in my element with the goulash. To be honest, I was almost ready to lick the plate clean 😋🤣😂🤣 The service was very friendly, attentive, and even gave us tips for a visit to the High Fens while we were paying. If we were staying longer, we would definitely have come back. With only four days, we'll give the others a chance too 👍🏼

Wir waren aufgrund der guten Rezensionen in der Laufenbach Stube. Bestellt hatten wir den Rinderbraten mit Klößen und Rotkohl. Gut bürgerlich, viel falsch machen kann man da nicht, so dachten wir zumindest. Was wir bekommen haben waren 2 trockene Scheiben Rinderbraten, überdeckt mit einer geschmacklosen recht glibbrigen schwarzen Soße. Die guten fertigen “Pfanni Knödel” aus der Tüte und Rotkohl aus dem Glas hatten auch noch Platz auf dem Teller gefunden. Geschmacklich weit entfernt von frischem leckerem gut bürgerlichen Essen, eigentlich eher gar kein Geschmack. Leider hatten wir nach einem anstrengendem Tag riesigen Hunger, der es dann letztendlich auch reingetrieben hat. Viel mehr kann man dazu leider nicht sagen. Woher die 4 1/2 Sterne und die vielen guten Rezensionen herkommen lässt sich nicht wirklich erklären, vielleicht von der in der Tat sehr freundlichen Bedienung. Vielleicht haben wir einen schlechten Tag in der Küche erwischt. Wiederkommen würden wir allerdings nicht. Schade.

Top food, clearly made with love. No frills but honest good food. And luckily something other than the well-known schnitzel. Never knew, but rose kohl is Brussels sprouts. And perfectly prepared. Service cheerful and open. Highly recommended.

Sehr gemütliches Lokal mit klassisch deutscher Küche. Das in Monschau übliche Dreigestirn mit Schnitzel, Steak und Burger bleibt hier Gottseidank außen vor. Stattdessen gibt es gute Hausmannskost wie man sie heute kaum noch findet, man merkt das hier mit Herz gekocht wird. Auch mit dem Gemüse gibt man sich Mühe. Gut dass es das Lokal gibt.

They serve very tasty food here. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only downside was that it was very hot because the heater was on quite loudly when we were there. That made it not very comfortable to sit there for a long time.

Wir waren heute mit 4 Personen hier essen. Wir hatten Sauerbraten, Rouladen und Köhlerbraten mit Knödel, Rotkohl und/oder Gemüse. Alles war sehr sehr lecker. Die Soßen haben spitzenmäßig geschmeckt und waren (außer die vom Sauerbraten) G l u t e n f r e i. Beim Sauerbraten waren Printen in der Soße, das hat aber ebenfalls sehr gut geschmeckt. Auf Nachfrage bzgl. Tripadvisor hat uns die Wirtin mitgeteilt, dass sie sich selbst nicht da angemeldet hat sondern irgdein Gast hat sie angemeldet. Somit kann sie hier auch nicht angeben dass sie überwiegend glutenfreies Essen serviert.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Laufenbach Stuben and it was simply a wonderful experience! The atmosphere is incredibly cozy – you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The service is exceptionally friendly and attentive, you can tell that Jessika and her team really care about the guests' well-being. The meal was a real treat - it reminded me of the festive warmth of Christmas. The dishes are prepared with a lot of love and are incredibly delicious. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, with a great, savory note that was reminiscent of a feast. A true taste experience! A little note: you can only pay in cash, but that doesn't take away from the great experience. I will definitely come back and can only recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Probably really good for Monschau conditions. Advice: Eat and stay overnight outside the tourist village! More and better service at better prices! The roast was nothing for "like mothers", just average, would lead to closure in Bavaria! The service was really bad, it took 60 minutes for the soup!
