L'arte del Gusto in Meißen

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with professionalism. The service is abysmal, the food is at the level of a snack bar. There are many things that are technically incorrect.

Extremely long wait times, incomplete orders, and no attention from the service staff. The food was of snack quality, with the appetizer served after the main course. For nine people, each dish arrived separately.

The worst pizza I've ever eaten

We arrived, wanted to eat, but then no one came for ages. We ordered drinks, and then they arrived. Then we were told: no pizza. The staff was unfriendly. We paid and said goodbye. A total rip-off.

It was delicious. A bit dry around the edges.

Beautiful location, looks good from the outside too. The fact that no one was sitting there should have made us suspicious. Despite the beautiful weather, there were quite a few people sitting in the brewery next door. We then let ourselves be "tempted" by the menu (they boast that here, unlike other "Italian" restaurants, you'll be dealing with real Italians). The waiter was inattentive, unfriendly, and rude (e.g., he didn't ask if it tasted good - he probably already knew the answer). The tortellini was halfway decent, the pizza was an ultra-flat piece of dough (paper-thin) smothered in cold tomato sauce and garlic. Cold and tasteless. The house wine was simple, as expected; the Aperol Spritz was strong enough but lacked the "spritz." Not recommended. We'll never see you there again. The waiter probably doesn't care anyway.

Completely overcooked spaghetti, supposedly with shrimp, of which I only found one or two half-chunks that might have been shrimp. The salad was extremely bitter.

Cute classic feel Depth and richness of dishes was a very pleasant surprise! The Asparagus flan and Zucchini mouse a must try!

Yesterday, we stood under the parasol during a sudden heavy rain (there were no guests outside), and were immediately sent away by the loud, elderly lady. Now that's true Italian friendliness.

Everything was excellent, the food was really delicious. The price-performance ratio was good. 👍

Quick and tactful service, friendly atmosphere, delicious Italian meals and strong coffee. Is there more to aks for? Perfect place to pop in for a grub on your tour de Meissen.

After 45 minutes of waiting for soup we gave up, which really ruined our arrival in Meißen. Later guests already had their orders.

Einfach tolles Essen. Die neapolitanische Pizza ist sehr empfehlenswert. Das Ragu de Bolognese schmeckt wie in Italien bei Nonna.

Obsluha byla velmi milá a ochotná, jídlo chutné a rychle připravené. Prostředí je příjemné, hudba byl puštěna přiměřeně hlasitě. Škoda, že jsme kvůli počasí nemohli použít zahrádku na náměstí s trhy.

Foodies pay attention – or better: look away If you've always wanted to know what bruschetta tastes like on brown bread - you can get the answer here for just €7.50. Small spoiler: Like a tomato that accidentally fell on the lunch. The service? Fast as lightning, but as talkative as a refrigerator. No “How did it taste?”, no “You’re welcome!”, not even a pained smile – maybe it was part of the minimalist concept? The “handmade” tortellini had the emotional depth of cardboard – a taste adventure on the level of lukewarm tap water. The pizza was 99% tomato sauce, probably a silent protest against cheese waste. Portions were in the size of an “Italian sampler” – unfortunately for the price of a 5-course meal. And you were allowed to pay extra for everything that wasn't explicitly on the plate: olive oil with bread? Extra. Parmesan with pasta? €3 please. Maybe I should have asked if I had to pay extra for cutlery too. Conclusion: If you have a few euros left and like culinary masochism - go for it. Everyone else: Better make toast at home. Or two – because the portion is larger

The waiter doesn't really talk to the guest. Bruscetta is a slice of brown bread with tomatoes for 7.50 euros. Bread with olive oil for 5 euros, also gray bread. Supposedly homemade Tortellini taste bland and there is far too little. Parmesan with spaghetti costs an extra 3 euros. Pizza is big but only tastes like tomato sauce. Conclusion. Tourist rip-off. The worst Italian restaurant I've been to in a long time

We were there for the second time and were very satisfied. I would definitely recommend it. The food was very good, and the dessert was fantastic.

Fue lo primero que vimos al llegar. La carbonara estaba divina. Se notaba que la comida era realmente casera. Al principio lo ves solo pero va llegando gente sin darte cuenta no tienes que esperar mucho.

The website is promising, the facade is chic, the name of the restaurant suggests something great: “L'Arte del Gusto”. Disillusionment catches up with you at the door. The ambience is rather ordinary, the waiter in the restaurant was unfortunately overwhelmed. We had a pasta dish and pizza. Unfortunately, the pasta was only “edible”, we were allowed to put together the pizza ourselves. 3 different bases and a larger number of ingredients. Clever business idea. However, buying the pizza alone cost €18. I wouldn't describe the quality of the pizza as good. We didn't experience L'Arte del Gusto/The Art of Taste that evening. It's a shame, we were in town with friends. There would definitely have been a number of good and honest restaurants in Meißen. Unfortunately we made a wrong choice.

This restaurant has the most amazing Italian food in all of Saxony. The seasonal specialties are delicious, and the everything is ver high quality. I would come back to Meißen just for this food!

We had a spontaneous meal there today for Christmas Day and it was wonderful! The food was great and absolutely convinced. We didn't have to wait long and the service was courteous and attentive! :-) Always my pleasure!

I cannot recommend this place enough. We arrived after a long day of cycling and sat down to the best meal of our trip so far. Definitely the best pizza we’ve ever had in Germany - maybe in the world. The Gustosa pizza was the standout; the house wines (red and white) equally fabulous. It’s also worth noting that the restaurant was very accommodating when we called to change our reservation time very last minute. If we are lucky enough to visit this region again, we will be sure to return for another meal at L’arte del Gusto.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't good, bruschetta was dry and hard, carelessly prepared and spaghetti was too salty, oily and tasteless. And when you ask about it, you act as if they don't understand you and they don't accept complaints.

On Sunday at 7 p.m. there was no more pizza. There were 4 noodle dishes to choose from.

Unfortunately very disappointed. Extremely long waiting times. We waited well over an hour for our food and even though there were only two other tables occupied besides us, on a sunny Saturday a restaurant in the city center should be better positioned. The Bruscetta were just sad. The pasta, on the other hand, tasted okay, but the portion was far too small for the price - when you wait so long for your food, you at least want to be full. Service poor, slow and uninterested in the guests. Price-performance ratio poor. I can't recommend it.

We came across del Gusto while strolling on Tuesday evening. The patio looked inviting and the menu looked good, so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, the restaurant was totally understaffed and we had to wait well over 30 minutes for the drinks, which at €9 per glass were only half full. Apparently there was only one waiter and one cook. The waiter was also the barman at the same time, which can't really work. The bruscetta came after 45 minutes and was a roughly chopped tomato on bread, I've never seen anything like it... the taste wasn't great either. After about 1 1/2 hours the main course came. The pizza was okay, but the pasta with garlic and chili was completely bland. For 63€ and after waiting 1 1/2 hours, we of course ate up. The way the owner reacted to critical reviews here, we had no desire to discuss anything else on site. We went in without further ado, paid our bill and left. It may certainly not be a bad Italian, but yesterday's performance was unfortunately poor.

The food was tasty and we were okay with the price. The service was friendly and came when you made yourself noticed. The location is of course fantastic. The taste didn't blow us away.

Experience report: Tastes like cheap supermarket ice cream. Very bad service with a long waiting time >20 minutes with an almost empty terrace. Homemade lemonade is not particularly tasty and tastes more like it was bought and mixed together.

Delicious ravioli👍, delicious asparagus paste👍, very good pizza (perhaps it's supposed to be like that, but I personally prefer a more baked and crispy dough), a large selection of beers and wines. The only thing that disappointed us was the bruschetta - although it didn't taste bad, we expected more tomatoes and garlic. However, the biggest advantage in our opinion was the atmosphere of this place and the service (of the owner?) - you could feel a bit of Italy🇮🇹❤️ - of all the restaurants and places in Meissen, we spent the best time here. Thank you 👍 I would have forgotten - our dog, who was with us, also liked the L'arte del Gusto restaurant 👍😀

Unfortunately the service was slow and unemotional. The drinks were brought after about 45 minutes. The gnocchi were not as described on the menu. Very unfortunate.

Had a 3 course menu at L'arte del Gusto Meissen from Groupon! The food was very tasty and plentiful! The service was quick and Italian too!! The ambience is incredibly beautiful! We hadn't ordered before!! The Groupon voucher was accepted without any problems! Excellent!! Full marks and we'll be back!!

So nicht, die Herren! Wir haben über TheFork eine Reservierung für SamstagAbend 13.04.2024 20h gemacht, die uns auch schriftlich bestätigt worden ist. Als wir dann pünktlich vor Ort erschienen, wurde uns erklärt die Küche sei bereits gereinigt und geschlossen. Wir wurden sodann unverrichteter Dinge weggeschickt. Wir sind dann in den Ratskeller gegenüber und haben dort großartig gegessen während die Larte del Gusto Terrasse weiter leer blieb... Offenbar kann das Lokal in Meißen nicht wirklich überzeugen. Übrigens: als wir das dann L’arte del Gusto auf TheFork bewerten wollten, fanden wir dort dann den Vermerk "no show". So geht's natürlich auch...

I ate there for the first time this week. The ambience is nice and everything looks tasteful. However, the prices for food and drinks are very expensive. I don't recommend the pasta dishes there because they are far too small and you can't get enough of them. The pizzas look good and there is enough choice.

Admittedly, we were unsure at first. We were looking for a restaurant on a Saturday at 5-5:30 p.m. and were not allowed in at another Italian restaurant because it was fully booked. I really wanted a pasta dish, my husband didn't care. Then we found this restaurant using Maps and were surprised that when we entered, everything was free except for one table. The map showed that the prices were slightly higher. A good selection of pasta dishes, pizzas (although not with the classic pizzeria offerings ala Hawaii and ok) as well as some other Italian dishes are on the menu. Impression of the menu: This is an Italian restaurant and not a pizzeria. Ordering went very quickly (it wasn't very busy either :-)). The preparation of the food then took about 15-20 minutes (it felt like). Both the pasta I ordered and my husband's pizza made a very good impression when served. Both the Spaghetti Puttanesca and the Pizza Tonno e Cipolle were excellent. The spaghetti was on point and excellently seasoned. The pizza dough was a special taste that we had never had before. We were happy to have found this restaurant with its very good cuisine. High-quality ingredients and excellent workmanship. We are happy to recommend you.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Germany. It's the only place where I can enjoy a delicious authentic Italian pizza. The staff are super friendly and the service is very quick. I live far from Meissen but sometimes I go there explicitly to enjoy some Italian food.

Because the restaurant next door had no more free space, it became L'arte del Gusto. In retrospect, it was a stroke of luck. We had a nice table on the terrace. There were the Marinara and Tonno pizzas. Plus a mixed salad. The meal was a trip to Italy. Terrific. The pizzas are each delicious. Only the salad fell off a bit. Just under 7 euros for some tomatoes and rocket. Nevertheless, full marks and an unreserved recommendation.
