Landhaus Spickermann in Xanten

The rooms need maintenance and better cleaning. There's a broken fan in the shower and mold in the sealant. The food in the restaurant is good and recommended.

I highly recommend the Landhaus Spickermann. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member and were allowed to eat there despite the restaurant being closed. The food was delicious, although the portion was a bit too large for me. 😉 The rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom, TV, and refrigerator. The mattress was too soft for me, but otherwise everything was fine. 😃 The breakfast was very good! Plenty of choice, including sausage, cheese, jam, Nutella, honey, and salmon. We also got scrambled eggs from the very friendly staff member. 👌 The country house is very quiet, but close to downtown Xanten (7 minutes by car). We really enjoyed it there! 😊

We ate there a few days ago. The service was very friendly, but the wait was terrible. It took 40 minutes for our appetizer to arrive, and then another 60 minutes for the main course. We then ordered dessert, which still hadn't arrived after another 30 minutes. When we asked about it, it was discovered that it had been forgotten. There was nothing wrong with the food itself; it was very tasty and the portions were very generous.

So, for my first time, it was okay. The portion sizes were OK, and so was the service, but I can't say anything about my colleagues' dishes. My portion was OK, but the onions were swimming in fat, which pooled on the plate.

We cycled to the country house on Easter Monday, following a beautiful route from Sonsbeck. We didn't have a reservation, but we were still warmly welcomed. We chose three dishes. All three were amazing. The meat, whether gyro or liver, was cooked to perfection. The tzatziki was incredible. Two dishes had veal liver, which was so tender and not overcooked. The salads and side dishes were perfect. The staff repeatedly asked if we had any requests. Everything was perfect. We'd repeat and recommend it 100%.

Absolutely not recommended! We were registered for the buffet, but it was probably canceled due to a larger event, just not with us...neither by email, phone or WhatsApp! We were kindly allowed to eat something. The table was in the middle between the very loud event and normal bar service. Ordering was very difficult because the waiter spoke neither German nor English. Actually, I just didn't want a gyro, but he didn't understand, and the boss did. The food was ok. Salad with completion, fries rushed, meat was good. But all in all, there are better Greeks in the area and therefore, once and never again.

The restaurant gets full points. In room number 6 you have to make do without the free in-house WiFi because the connection breaks down within the room. The beds are very soft, but sufficient for one night. The breakfast was very good and sufficient.

The prices at Landhaus Spickermann are still right. There is nothing unrealistically overpriced. This restaurant is now one of our favorite restaurants. To do this, you are happy to take the longer journey to Vynen.

We went there for dinner on a Saturday evening with a group of 12 due to the large menu and good reviews. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The staff always tried very hard, but two whole dishes and a few side dishes didn't arrive. And a meal was served upon request. Unfortunately it was a very chaotic evening. The food delivered tasted good. The main problem was that the staff did not write down the drinks and food or passed them on to the kitchen incompletely or not at all due to language difficulties. It was pure chaos. We were told that today was a bad day.

Unfortunately the service is really subpar. Drinks were forgotten several times, so after 20 minutes we had to run to the counter and ask where the drinks were, even though the beer garden wasn't very full. The service is really not attentive at all and prefers to chat with people we know, even though we pointed out to the waiter several times that we wanted to order the food or drinks. But the food is, as always, quite ok, i.e. upscale snack quality.

Intrigued by the good reviews, we of course had to take a detour to the beer garden, which lives up to its name one hundred percent. A great garden, lovingly furnished. The owners and employees are quick, attentive and nice, the food (I had Greek) was of very good quality and plentiful, and the price was absolutely correct. Rustic and delicious food in a beautiful environment, very friendly service staff

We were here for lunch at lunchtime. An incredibly great beer garden, with lots of space, whether shade or sun - there is something for everyone. The restaurant is a family business and it really shows. The dad is in the kitchen and the kids provide reliable, friendly and extremely attentive service. The service probably can't be beat as people just enjoy their job. And the food was just delicious. We can really recommend it to everyone - you will like it! We'll definitely be back! I was there for one night with a business partner. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, but the landlord immediately offered to make us food. We were served a very tasty and varied grilled plate with salad, various sauces and side dishes. With the best will in the world, we couldn't eat everything. The next morning we continued with a very hearty breakfast. The service and friendliness of the staff cannot be beat. Everything is worth its price in the best sense of the word. Again any time! Unfortunately my breakfast experience was very disappointing. Although the staff seemed friendly, the service was extremely slow and almost incompetent. The food was simply not good - the scrambled eggs were so unappetizing that I didn't want to eat them. The buffet was very meat-heavy and the quality didn't seem convincing, at least visually. The juice was watery and didn't really taste good. The rolls were okay, but not particularly good either. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this country house.
