We spent a thoroughly enjoyable weekend at the Mühle am Schluchsee. The hotel is tastefully decorated and exudes a pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant deserves special mention: excellent food, lovingly prepared, and of very high quality – a delight! The service was also very friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome at all times. Overall, a wonderful stay that we would happily recommend. We'll definitely be back!

A gem in the Black Forest, you arrive and feel right at home...a warm welcome in tranquil nature. Service was consistently unobtrusive and very attentive. We're repeat customers and were excited to meet the new chef. Our expectations were truly exceeded. The menu was worthy of two stars! Above all, in addition to the quality, the interplay of flavors, and the loving decoration of all the dishes, our non-alcoholic beverages were particularly noteworthy. They were wonderfully prepared by Sina from all sorts of natural ingredients and perfectly complemented the individual courses. The chef himself also took his time with us and answered our questions without any rush while serving the food. We could have chatted with Fabian forever. That's certainly a big hit with the guests. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. From the start, Julie at the front desk was warm, kind, and incredibly helpful with both the booking process and throughout my visit. Even the drive over was pleasant, setting the tone for what turned out to be a wonderful experience. The hotel itself felt both personal and accommodating. It wasn’t crowded, yet the atmosphere was lively while still relaxed. The bedding was luxuriously soft and high-quality, and I appreciated thoughtful touches like turn-down service and the beautifully written personalized notes left for me at arrival, dinner, bedtime, and breakfast. Dining was a highlight. Dinner featured a pigeon ragout that stood out with its distinctive and memorable flavor. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I was especially impressed with the mocktails—each one unique and creative, far beyond the typical nonalcoholic options. Breakfast was equally indulgent, with a full spread that included Ossetra caviar over truffled scrambled eggs, a truly delightful start to the day. Altogether, the experience was personal, indulgent, and refreshingly memorable.

A beautiful, small but very fine hotel, with top-notch service and a delicious, personalized breakfast. We were also impressed by the Michelin-starred restaurant, which is very innovative with local influences and offers a wonderful wine journey to accompany each course.

Nothing is left to chance; almost everything is perfect. The property is meticulously designed, and the building is exceptionally well-maintained, with meticulous attention to detail. And the dinner was what you'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. For a carefree, enjoyable evening or night out, this is definitely recommended.

A truly wonderful experience all around. Starting with the stylishly renovated mill and the beautifully landscaped garden, it continues seamlessly with the friendly staff. We had pleasant conversations and were well looked after. And last but not least, of course, the incredibly impressive 7-course menu. We had the vegetarian menu and were surprised and delighted by a perfectly thought-out menu, including a non-alcoholic beverage pairing. P.S.: The snacks as an alternative for the evening and the breakfast are also of the highest quality. We'll definitely see you again!

This was truly a perfect meal. Every course was truly sophisticated and absolutely culinary. The cuisine is worthy of more than one star. We felt the wine pairing could have been improved. Personally, we would have chosen some wines differently to accompany the courses. 3 out of 5 didn't impress us. In our opinion, there's room for improvement. The service from the ladies was excellent. The ambiance was also excellent. We would gladly return.

We had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant, so no review of the hotel is possible. To celebrate our wedding anniversary today, my wife and I treated ourselves to a little break at the mill. We are absolutely thrilled. The staff were fantastic and anticipated our every need. The menu was indescribable. Even simple things like the wood-fired bread were a revelation in terms of taste. What the kitchen and service offered us was worth every single euro, even though it was actually way over our budget. Of course, breakfast also deserves a mention. Here, too, every single item is of outstanding quality and flavor. We can only warmly recommend the mill.

A magical hotel, beautiful, comfortable, large rooms, a beautiful garden with a swimming pond and whirlpool, and a great breakfast. We didn't try the dinner menu as it was too expensive for us at 170 euros per person.

The food begins with a wow factor: a mushroom that looks like a pilsner, followed by an entertaining journey through various small courses, all deliciously and delicately prepared. The four of us spent an entertaining evening. The service and chefs were super friendly and happy to share a bit about themselves or the restaurant. Great, we'd love to come back. It was an all-round successful stay. Only the room presented a few tripping hazards, such as the entrance to the room and the bathroom access. There were invisible steps in each one. Especially if you need to "get out" at night. Otherwise, it was great and very quiet. It wasn't our first time there and certainly won't be our last. The dinner with wine pairing in the restaurant was also excellent. Highest praise and appreciation!!! The only thing is that they should have been a bit more conservative with the salt in some dishes. Overall, we were extremely impressed. The wines paired perfectly. We look forward to our next visit.

Our stay was made truly special by Fabian Obergfell's fine dining—a menu full of finesse, personality, and balance. And best of all: Fabian wasn't just in the kitchen, he was also there serving—very hands-on, down-to-earth. The entire team is visibly passionate about their work, relaxed, very attentive, and simply pleasant. For us, it was an all-around harmonious experience—small, fine, and special. Wonderfully quiet location. Beautiful gardens. Cozily furnished hotel. The menu in the restaurant was very, very good. The only thing that comes across as a bit artificial is the informal "du" (formal) between staff and guests. The "Sie" (formal) and the friendliness prevailing throughout the hotel would have been more authentic.

The authentically renovated, almost 500-year-old mill has been meticulously renovated and optimized for our guests in every detail. An absolute highlight is the in-house cuisine, featuring Michelin-starred dishes of the highest caliber. Even the breakfast is Michelin-starred. The entire team is dedicated to the complete satisfaction of its guests and achieves this goal through friendliness and impeccable service. We have visited the mill four times, are delighted every time, and will definitely return.

A beautifully located boutique hotel. I was staying nearby and had dinner in the gourmet restaurant. Absolutely top-notch and highly recommended. The service was super attentive and friendly, the cuisine was of the highest standard, and the attention to detail was absolute, from the house to the food on the plate. I hope I'll be in the area again soon, otherwise I'll probably have to travel again just for that. The non-alcoholic accompaniments are particularly worth mentioning, as they've really put a lot of thought into them. Not just non-alcoholic versions of any alcoholic beverage, but rather something unique created with a lot of love and imagination, from the homemade spruce tea in a spruce honey spritz to the outstanding accompaniment of the pigeon breast with black tea, salted prune, and sour cherry – they've really put a lot of thought into this. On the plate, small works of art that are actually too good to eat, but only then do they reveal their true artistry! Visually stunning, but the taste is amazing! The Café de Paris foam with the trout (which was cooked to perfection) was so good that even in a Michelin-starred restaurant, you can forget your good manners and simply enjoy the plate with a slice of the delicious wood-fired bread until the last drop. Outstanding! That sums it up quite well.

It's not a noisy or stiff luxury, but rather a family atmosphere that thrives on the quality of each individual employee in this wonderful hotel. The rooms are minimalist and lovingly furnished, and the hotel itself gives the impression of being at home, where you are welcome rather than a temporary guest. The breakfast, the lounge, and the garden invite you to take your time, stay, and enjoy the moment. I skipped dinner in the restaurant on this visit, but will definitely make up for it next time. We visited Marius and his team at the mill again. The atmosphere is still very welcoming and pleasant. The attentive staff provide loving care. The beautifully landscaped swimming pond complements the wonderful atmosphere at the mill. You're simply "away from it all," which is very pleasant.

This lovely little hotel is situated in a beautiful landscape above Lake Schluchsee. We felt completely at home there; the team is very welcoming. The hotel has character and style, is comfortably furnished, and is immaculately clean. The room and beds were also nice and comfortable. We really enjoyed the small, elegant indoor and outdoor wellness area, which allowed us to relax. The highlight was the dinner. The chef, Fabian Obergfell, impressed us across the board; we had a wonderful evening and would gladly return.

My partner found this charming hotel near Schluchsee, where we had planned to hike. The hotel and its gardens are magnificent. The rooms are very beautiful, except for the bathroom, which is a bit small and old-fashioned with its shower stall. When I booked, I was delighted to discover that the Mühle restaurant has two Michelin stars. We were welcomed by Chef Fabian Obergfell and had the best meal of our lives. Everything was delicious, from the appetizers to the petits fours, the seven-course menu, and the wine pairing. P.S.: Fluency in German is a plus for a complete interaction with the chef and team, but you can do without it and simply enjoy the culinary experience.

The Mühle am Schluchsee has become like our second home. We feel so comfortable here, the food is simply amazing, and the service is exceptional! We simply enjoy being there and taking a little break from everyday life. It's wonderful that something like this exists!

We were there for dinner and didn't stay overnight. The food was fantastic, and our special requests were accommodated. Whether the new chef will keep his second star remains to be seen, but he's guaranteed one. What really annoyed us, though, was the price of water. We had one bottle of water, but in the end, we were charged €22, as they charge a flat rate of €11 per person. This was never communicated beforehand, which is a) excessively priced and b) an absolute no-go without prior communication.

Our stay at the Hotel Mühle Schluchsee was a few days ago now – but we are still completely inspired by our time at this wonderful place. Even though we only stayed overnight, it had the relaxing effect of several days, as we immediately felt at home in this authentic, uniquely beautiful Black Forest atmosphere. We were very well looked after by the young, motivated, and friendly team, and we were able to enjoy the relaxed, yet high-class ambience in a beautiful, spacious hotel room decorated in modern Black Forest style with a large balcony. The highlight of our stay was definitely the evening dinner in the hotel's own restaurant, Mühle Schluchsee, where Fabian Obergfell and his team created an outstanding culinary experience, blending the finest craftsmanship and culinary art into a unique work of art. Without pretensions and with a friendly, open manner, we were served by the head chef himself, who explained his creations to us. Here, you'll truly get a unique Black Forest experience (including a hearty, hearty breakfast and wellness facilities with a Jacuzzi and sauna) at an excellent price-performance ratio that will leave a lasting impression. We'll definitely be back!

The connection to the Black Forest and its nature is palpable in everything! Very authentic, pleasantly unfussy, relaxed and yet at the same time attentive, a quiet place with plenty of life! ...and of course, there are no words to describe the restaurant's achievements: the art is to enjoy without comparison...simply marvel!

The small Hotel Mühle am Schluchsee is an absolute place to feel good and as soon as you step through the door you are in your own world that allows you to relax! The rooms are cozy and authentically furnished with the appropriate level of comfort. The special charm lies in the creaking wooden floors, the low ceilings and crooked walls; old and modern meet and complement each other perfectly. The mill's entire service team is very warm and attentive, you feel wonderfully looked after. And the garden area is an oasis of peace with many cozy seating areas and a great natural swimming pond. I would particularly like to highlight the breakfast service. There is no buffet and you don't miss it because you order a la carte the day before and the offering leaves nothing to be desired. Above all, it is completely packaging-free, very important these days!! We can fully recommend the Hotel Mühle! You have to see and experience it!

A very successful weekend. The entire Mühlen team is incredible (nice, friendly, helpful, competent, courteous, technically good). The experience in the 2* restaurant was the crowning glory of the whole thing. The rooms are tastefully furnished with no decorative frills. We also liked the sustainability idea. There were dispensers available everywhere in the bathroom and no waste-intensive hotel portions. The service is super friendly. They all have a sense of humor and we laughed a lot throughout our stay. The location is ideal. There is a relaxing calm all around. You can start hiking directly from the house.

All the staff are really very nice and helpful. What “the kitchen” creates meets our taste exactly and we think that the price-performance ratio is completely harmonious. If you accept the characteristics of an old house, we can also recommend staying in the hotel.

We had the pleasure of visiting both the boutique hotel and the restaurant at Mühle Schluchsee and can only rave. The mill, a lovingly restored 16th century grain mill, cleverly combines history with modern comfort. The rooms are extremely comfortable with excellent beds and are lovingly prepared for the night in the evening - including a bedtime story and chocolates, which was a wonderful surprise. The small but nice sauna with a living room-like relaxation area, an outdoor terrace, a whirlpool and a bathing pond offers pure relaxation. The beautifully landscaped garden invites you to linger. Breakfast is ordered the evening before and brought fresh to the table in the morning, with repeat orders possible at any time. This practice shows a conscious handling of food, which we value very much. The distance between the breakfast tables also creates a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant was simply impressive. The young, committed team spreads an infectious atmosphere with their enthusiasm. We really liked the modern dining room with a lot of flair and a pleasant distance between the tables. We were particularly impressed by the cutlery drawer at every seat. Each dish was like a painting, full of flavor and prepared with attention to detail, with an emphasis on using local foods, making the experience even more special. The cold appetizers were served at the counter in the room, which intrigued us. The tweezers as a chef's tool show the precision and passion behind every dish. Tip: Be sure to choose the additional components - pure enjoyment! The wine selection was great and the self-made non-alcoholic drinks were a real treat. The staff was always attentive and courteous without being intrusive. The harmony and cooperation in the entire hotel and restaurant team is noticeable and contributes significantly to an unforgettable stay. A big thank you to the entire team for this experience!

The hotel impresses with its slightly rustic charm of the old Black Forest manor house. Everything is very lovingly designed, the park-like garden around the house with a stream and swimming pond is well maintained. You can certainly enjoy lovely hours on warm evenings on the wooden terraces under the trees or by the pond. The team? Great! After asking, you will be greeted in a friendly manner and everyone will try very hard. A very relaxed, relaxed atmosphere that infected us from the first minute. In the restaurant, the team led by star chef Nicklas Nussbaumer is also super professional and friendly. Our room - number 6: fantastic, spacious with living area, large bathroom, bedroom. Located under the roof and flooded with light through the windows in the roof and the beautiful south-facing balcony. Tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Lovingly and personalized welcome letters await you. Conclusion: Even though it was only one night, we relaxed really well and thoroughly enjoyed the evening in the restaurant. Everything is well maintained and invitingly decorated. We were warmly welcomed upon check-in and the service was first class throughout our stay. Ankica, a special thank you to you – your warm manner and your great tips on hikes and restaurants made our stay even more special! A real highlight was the wellness area, which we could use entirely for ourselves - pure relaxation! The à la carte breakfast was also exceptional: high quality, prepared with great care and simply delicious. Our XL room was huge and beautifully decorated! To the restaurant: An absolute experience! Thanks to Lea and Sina for the great service - attentive, friendly and with noticeable passion, but still wonderfully uncomplicated. Despite the two stars, there is a relaxed atmosphere here, without any stiffness. You feel welcome and can enjoy the food to the fullest. The kitchen impresses with creative dishes, perfect presentation and exceptional flavors. The wine pairing was excellent, and the ambience created the perfect mix of elegance and cosiness. You can tell that every detail was chosen with care. We can only recommend this hotel and restaurant and are already looking forward to our next visit

We stayed in this enchanting place for one night. The room was sooo hyggelig, clean and quiet. We slept wonderfully. The breakfast was excellent, nothing was missing. The staff was very warm, helpful, like I haven't experienced in a long time. Thank you very much for the great break!

Feel-good factor! We love the charming little boutique hotel with 10 rooms in a historic Black Forest house. The young team looks after the guests in a warm and authentic way. Anyone who can get involved in this special charm will enjoy their time. Many guests are sure to come into contact with a menu in the 2* restaurant. We think it would be nice if there were 1-2 smaller dishes to choose from in addition to the snack -> for guests who don't want to eat a menu or are staying for several days. We would certainly have enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening, but the drink prices are in the premium segment. A little more moderate in the lounge and it would be perfect. The breakfast is world class. Thanks to the entire team for the great time.

I've been here for dinner for the third time. Great food and great hostess. I'm just not so sure about the blonde waitress who wasn't always so friendly to us.

These fit well into the restaurant, which is designed with light wood tones and white walls, which does not distract from the essentials on the table. An absolutely quiet, individual hotel that successfully combines tradition and modernity. The menu in the restaurant was a highlight with many new taste experiences with the perfect wine accompaniment. A must for gourmets.
