Landhaus Kuhsiel in Bremen

Strawberry slices without fresh strawberries are not recommended!

On a sunny weekend we cycled to Landhaus Kuhsiel - a beautiful place surrounded by fields and a quiet canal where even boats pass by. We ordered two breakfast options: the hearty breakfast and the gourmet breakfast. Both plates were generously filled with various types of sausage and cheese, eggs (either scrambled or fried), rolls, butter and jam. The gourmet breakfast also included salmon, crispy bacon and (theoretically) a croissant and a glass of orange juice. The croissant was initially forgotten, but was quickly added after request - very crispy, perhaps baked a little too long. Unfortunately, the orange juice was completely forgotten and we only noticed it afterwards - not that bad, but worth mentioning. In terms of taste, everything was solid: the eggs were well prepared, the rolls were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Particularly positive: There was also blackcurrant jam, which you can't get everywhere. Price-performance ratio is right, the place is wonderfully quiet - we would like to come back, but next time we will take a closer look to see whether everything is on the table. 😉

We were in the restaurant with a large group and were looking forward to eating asparagus - unfortunately we were very disappointed. The entire meal was completely cold, especially the hollandaise sauce, which was supposed to be warm, was very cold. In addition, there were several mix-ups with the orders, which later led to unnecessary discussions during billing. Here in particular the boss was particularly hectic, unfriendly and not very solution-oriented. In general, her tone - both towards us guests and towards her own employees - was extremely aggressive and inappropriate. It was really unpleasant to see how she treated the staff, who genuinely felt sorry for us. An overall disappointing visit. We will definitely not visit this restaurant again.

Great destination with a beer garden and very good cuisine. Service is super friendly. Highly recommended.

Worst restaurant experience in my life. As a starter we ordered a bread basket. This consisted of two crusts of bread, one of which was cut down so much that it looked like a potato chip. For the main course I ordered a burger with fries. The fries were undercooked and still completely soft on the inside. My partner ordered the gnocchi with no sauce. These were so soaked in oil that it looked like we had ordered oil soup. Eventually it got to such an extent that the amount of oil made both of us sick. In addition, the waiters were extremely unfriendly and treated us like second-class citizens. One of the many examples of this was that the waiter first billed a table of ten people, all of whom wanted to pay separately. But they told us after we did that they wanted to pay. So we waited another 10 minutes before the first waiter could check us out. During that time, about four different waiters walked past us. All with card machines in hand. But the communication apparently wasn't thought through to the extent that only one waiter could bill us. After we paid, the waiter said the exact amount three times, since I didn't understand the need to pay a tip for this service, appeared visibly angry at my attitude and, last but not least, slammed his wallet on our table. and on top of all that comes an absolutely hefty price for any food and drink for my little burger with the confessions. I paid a whole €20 for fries. The gnocchi was perhaps justified by the amount of oil and the price of €15. The bread basket is eight euros, drinks are at least seven. I would highly recommend that you avoid the store if it is possible for you.

We arrived with a car and caravan and asked if we could park here. That wouldn't be a problem at all if we parked in the rear parking lot to save space. Everything is super friendly and nice here. We then went on a nice bike ride to Bremen and the Bürgerpark. After our bike tour, we stopped into the beer garden and were treated to a delicious meal with a delicious, cool blonde drink😉. Since we had a few delicious beers in the great beer garden, we thought about spending the night here, which wasn't an issue at all.😉 Thanks for the hospitality.

Terrific! Gastronomy is fun and people enjoy spending time there 🍺😇 A very nice refuge in nature with a view of Wümme! Very family-friendly, well located if you're traveling in 'Blockland', then it's worth taking a break here! The service is very friendly and attentive, everything goes hand in hand here, a nice selection of drinks and very nice details. Lovely menu that doesn't promise too much! It's also like that, very tasty😋 As I said, you are full, satisfied and enjoy a beautiful view! Nothing more is possible...

I don't even know how to describe this here, but I'll try anyway. My dish was pork cordon bleu with rosemary potatoes and cucumber salad. I guess you say pasta is "al dente" when it's cooked to perfection, but the chef must have taken my potatoes out of the heat six minutes too early. 😕 The cucumber salad also seemed a bit too sour to me, but that's a matter of taste, of course. The cordon bleu, on the other hand, was perfect, both in terms of flavor and the portion size.

We ended our cabbage trip here! Unfortunately, the older female staff was very stressed and seemed annoyed. Even when you asked questions you got a sloppy answer. I wouldn't recommend it. Target group: > 50 years

Quite restless, but eating tastes good

We just stopped there on our bikes for an Alster and a moor beer. The coveted tables outside at the Wümme were all occupied or reserved. Since the time window was large enough, we were able to drink our beer in peace at one of the reserved tables above the Wümme. Very friendly and attentive staff. However, the order at the next table didn't really go well. They wanted a salad first and then the main course. They got everything at the same time. But in these crazy times you have to be happy to have any staff at all. A visit there is worth it. Very nice atmosphere.

Our family has lived in Bremen Finndorf and Schwachhausen since 1918. Of course we know Kuhsiel, a well-known excursion restaurant in Blockland. We can highly recommend Kuhsiel: friendly staff, extensive food and drink offerings. Price performance ratio appropriate. Very beautiful nature reserve, water areas for water birds,

The first visit in summer 2023 was great - breakfast and service were great, 5 stars for this. The second visit in October 2024 was also great - breakfast and service were great, 5 stars for this. The third visit in January 2025 was unfortunately NOT great - unfortunately only 3 stars. We were in the first guest room, sat down and we noticed a very unpleasant smell. It smelled of an indefinable mix of chemicals. Unfortunately, the operation couldn't provide any information about this, but opened a small window - this didn't improve the air in the room. We moved to the second guest room, the air was a little better here, but there was also this unpleasant chemical mix smell here. Well, we thought it would improve over time during our stay - unfortunately we thought wrong. The breakfast was okay so far, although the coffee was very thin and the coffee cups were very small, as were the handles, so you couldn't really touch the cup with your fingers. The service was friendly, however slightly unfocused, even though we were the only guests in the entire restaurant - the boss was probably the cause.

We have been to this restaurant several times and have always been satisfied! Today's food was subpar. We ordered 3x goose. 1 portion was inedible, dry and partly black. The other two portions were just edible, but rather poor and small. The boss's reaction was very unfriendly. We were definitely there for the last time.

Unfortunately the food was contaminated with bacteria! A very nice place, but unfortunately the food tasted like it had been reheated from the day before. Later we had gastrointestinal problems. After a tip-off at the restaurant, we were told to look for the fault ourselves. No apology, nothing. Absolutely not recommended. If that were a €5 kebab, ok. But given the prices you can at least expect a tolerable meal.

Warning: Eating causes stomach problems. The mushroom pan was lukewarm and the potatoes tasted like they had been cooked 2 days ago. It didn't take long for the gastrointestinal reaction to occur. Not again!

Nice place on the Wümme. The service on the terrace is not special. The waiter served two couples who had arrived well after us first. We had to make ourselves known twice, which is unpleasant and leaves us with a bad feeling. The food (peat cuts) (meatloaf) was tasteless, the green beans still had stalks and no taste and everything wasn't even lukewarm. Too bad about the money. We left the place almost hungry and with an unpleasant feeling in our stomachs.

I was with you twice this week. Once for lunch and this evening. Both times the food was very good, everything was fresh and of very good quality. Really delicious. The staff was also great and the restaurant matches what you can order to eat there. Rustic kitchen. Thank you for the lovely evening today. Everyone was very satisfied. Thumbs up, we'll be happy to come back. The price was also right for what was on the plate.

Certainly a good place to visit in an excellent location. Since I only sat on the terrace and had something to drink, I can't share any other experiences. The apple pie we consumed was excellent, the cellar beer was well tempered and the aquavit was served in style.

More of a place to visit when the weather is nice for coffee and cake than a restaurant! Food really wasn't great. César salad bathed in dressing and a cold strip of bacon. why bacon, why cold, why? The pan, sirloin steak was brought rare and, oh surprise, it was like the sole of a shoe. Beans without bacon and any sweet potatoes as well. We saved ourselves dessert.

A location that is in the middle of nature, yet close. What did it look like here two hundred years ago?

We were there for lunch today in beautiful weather. There is a very nice atmosphere right on the Wümme. For food we had a delicious meatloaf, a burger with lye bun and basil chicken with truffled pasta, which was very tasty. The service was very accommodating. Overall a nice meal.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food cannot keep up with the quality of the service and the ambience. Service was very friendly, attentive and quick. The ambience is of course great due to the great location, but also thanks to the cozy furnishings inside and outside. The food… unfortunately disappointing. It happened so quickly that it was clear that we were “cooking” in advance. The fried potatoes were slices that were presented wobbly and soft and dripping with fat. Some brown spots. You wouldn't offer something like that to anyone at home, but you would in a restaurant for expensive money? Somebody understand that. Salad undressed and with a single dollop of ready-made dressing. For over €5. Unseasoned scrambled eggs. etc. What a shame!

We were delivered food that didn't correspond to the description, we wanted the dish to match the description, it took a long time and then it tasted good

I was on a long hike and my water was empty. After I politely asked if I could fill my bottle with tap water, I was first kindly agreed and told it was no problem. But when an older waitress heard this, I had to pay money for it. After all, water there would cost over 2 euros for 0.2 liters. The person clearly noticed that it was just tap water. I find this outrageous and does not reflect hospitality. I could also have asked the other way around whether I could have used the toilet for a small fee of one euro. I could have taken 20 liters there. Too bad… very unfriendly.

Wonderful location on the Wümme! The service excellent. The food was at best acceptable. In the pan with three types of meat, the beef was inedible, tough and had a thick tendon running through it (price approx. €23.00)! For dessert we were looking forward to the Kaiserschmarren, which we had recently been served in excellent quality. A finished product was served, wobbly, dry, sour cream or something similar instead of cream, vanilla ice cream and plum compote were ok. It's a shame that this restaurant didn't maintain its quality. Despite the wonderful location and the courteous service, we won't eat there again. Recommendation to the chef: further training

A nice location for a celebration. The rooms were large and easily accessible. The style was more modern. Because it's located a little outside, you definitely won't bother anyone and you can end the evening with some loud music. The staff were sometimes a bit quick to clear up, but were always nice and friendly.

Sehr schön gelegen, Bedienung sehr freundlich. Das Essen- Salat mit gegrilltem Lacks in Teriyaki Soße mit Baguette war in Ordnung, das Dressing etwas sauer. Der Hauptkritikpunkt ist die Menge...ein schmaler Streifen Lachs, eine kleine Salatportion und dafür 23,50 €. Auf meine Beanstandung würde freundliches Bedauern ausgedrückt...mehr nicht. Ein Espresso wäre das mindeste gewesen.

In my opinion, it was better in the Kuhsiel country house. The food is generally good, but nothing special. What I don't understand at all is why you have to pay an extra €1 when you change the side dishes (in my case from fries to fried potatoes). The steakhouse fries were only available with this dish, but fried potatoes were included with every other dish. It shouldn't mean any additional effort... What I found very unfortunate was the rather unloving and indifferent service. The food was served with almost no comment, when it was cleared away we weren't even asked whether it was tasty and when we paid we were wordlessly handed the EC device with the amount entered without first showing us an invoice or receipt... There is some catching up to do with staff. It should be evident from the tip - we didn't do it...

Extremely delicious in a great atmosphere

Beautiful location, ice cream tastes good, but unfortunately only certain traditional varieties (stracciatiella, chocolate, mango & Co., no lemon, no lactose-free ice cream. Be careful: agricultural machines with rotary rakes thunder over the bridge onto the canal road to the field access without taking into account cyclists stopping, including children , our son was almost caught on the head. No one could remember the license plate that quickly...

We have a lovely evening Kuhsiel spent. Food was at the table quickly, fresh and tasty. The ambience also fits and is very nice. The outdoor area is very tastefully landscaped with beautiful flowers. This restaurant is certainly a great option as a wedding location. Only the vegetarian/vegan options were a bit limited, but I think that's okay if you go to a good, middle-class German restaurant. Nevertheless, the vegetarian dishes we ordered were tasty and well prepared. The Kaiserschmarn for dessert was a dream. We are happy to recommend the restaurant.

I had the Jägerschnitzel with fries and there wasn't even a decorative lettuce leaf or anything else decorative, it came out of the kitchen so boring, and it wasn't even a cheap lunch option. I was disappointed, even though it was a birthday dinner.

As a larger group we ate very well there! Service very nice and attentive! The quality of the food was good, everyone got their food at the same time without a very long wait!

Food was okay. But tables were being pushed loudly through the restaurant. You could also raise them. So we couldn't enjoy our food.

We come here very regularly and are satisfied every time. The menu is varied, the portions are a reasonable size, and the price is very reasonable. The restaurant has great charm both inside and outside. The service is great, only once were we promised a specific spot when making a reservation, which was then given to someone else for unknown reasons, but that's not earth-shattering. We'd love to come back!

Great food in beautiful surroundings

Wir haben vor ca. 2 Wochen unsere Hochzeit ! im Landhaus Kuhsiel gefeiert und sind sehr enttäuscht worden. Im Vorgespräch haben wir uns für die Feier im Wintergarten entschieden und uns wurde Dieser auch zugesagt. Am Abend ! vor unserer Hochzeit kam ein Anruf von der „Chefin „ das der Wintergarten von einer Gruppe mit mehr Personen gebucht wurde. Das lohnt sich mehr! Ohne Entschuldigung ! Ein mündlicher Vertrag ist dort wohl nichts mehr wert. Der Raum war für unsere Personenzahl sehr eng. Also niemals eineHochzeit mit nicht mind. 50 Personen dort feiern , das lohnt sich nicht fürs Restaurant !Bei jedem Glas Wein musste man auf die Bedienung warten….kam aber sehr selten. Eine Auflistung in der Rechnung gab es auch nicht. Alles sehr enttäuschend !

Schönes Ambiente am Rande Bremens. Netter und guter Service. Wir aßen Spargelcremesuppe und Schleusenpfanne sowie Schnitzel "Jäger Art" von der Karte. zusätzlich gibt es eine Spargelkarte. Die Suppe war genauso, wie sie sein muß. Nicht zu cremig, etwas Zitrone dabei, nicht zu mehlig. Bravo. Das Schnitzel war ok, ebenso die Fleichstücke in der Schleusenpfanne. Die Bratkartoffeln waren für uns etwas zu fettig, die Bohnen dagegen sehr gut. Vielleicht eine Idee: Statt des zweiten Schnitzels einen kleinen Salat? Die Weine sind auch gutbürgerlich. Einrichtung gemütlich und gut gemacht. Unsere Erfahrung in dem Landhaus und mit dem Landhaus sind gut bis sehr gut.

I was once invited to a birthday party. I really liked the atmosphere, the staff was friendly and helpful and very quick despite there being a lot of guests. I will definitely come back.

The location is beautiful, service and quality of the food were subpar. I have rarely eaten so badly! Not at all attentive staff, rather indifferent. Children were uncommented by being served dessert (ice cream with hot cherries and raspberries) with alcohol in it without any indication on the menu or a note from the waiter. When asked about this, the incredibly bold answer was that everything was overcooked. Infinitely long waiting time between courses, overall an experience that will not be repeated and that I can only advise against.

A nice place to stay. But expensive. A mainly green salad for €18.50 is more than borderline.

As a registered birthday party, the kitchen and service needed a whopping 3 hours for a 3-course menu. Food was so-so. Salmon fillet fart dry, herb potatoes without herbs. Starter soup was ok for meat eaters, there was an empty plate for the registered vegetarians. Main course for vegetarians with fish ok, no fish only side dishes with no alternative. The highlight was the dessert, vanilla ice cream with hot alcohol cherries. (Yes also for children) we had to make the service aware of this. Afterwards there was an alternative ice cream sundae which also took another 45 minutes. Before we say it again: unexpectedly the terrace was full. Yes, ok, but as a registered party you probably have priority over a four-person bicycle table that comes spontaneously! There was no apology or anything like that in between or beforehand that it would take longer today. On the contrary, we had to speak to the staff about it. Before the excuses come “No people blah blah, lack of skilled workers blah blah” all I can say is that I can only occupy as many tables as I can process it in a timely manner. Because the way it has happened now, the negative impression remains with many people.

We went there for a coffee and a hot waffle on a weekday afternoon. The terrace (we sat outside) and the building are very beautifully designed and furnished from the outside. You also have a great view of the Wümme. Of the three waiters who served us, two were very friendly and helpful. Number three made 2-3 stupid comments that are not appropriate as a waiter. The coffee and waffles came quickly and tasted very good with vanilla ice cream. The prices are also okay. We'd love to come back.

Last but not least, the really friendly service should be mentioned here. The terrace was full as expected given the weather, but we never had the feeling of not being seen. Quite the opposite. Often, but not too often, someone would come to the table and ask if everything was okay. Pleasant and not intrusive, but very attentive. The food: three of the four of us were very satisfied. There was the Cordon Bleu, the Kuhsiel burger, Knipp with fried potatoes and a crispy chicken. The food came quickly, was (almost too) lavish and well prepared and really very tasty. Except for the fried potatoes. I suspect that these were simply heated up quickly due to the large number of orders. To be honest, the complaining is at a high level. In fact, almost everything was perfect and the four stars may be increased to five after the next visit.

Spontaneously went to the Kuhsiel country house. The ambience was decorated with a lot of love and a good eye for detail. The service, very attentive and friendly. Not intrusive at all. The food, the locks pan, very well seasoned food. Rarely have I eaten something so harmonious.
