Definitely recommended! Large "American" buffet, the garlic mushrooms were excellent, scrambled eggs were very good, rolls and bread were of very good quality, and there was also cream cheese with salmon. Various jams, butter in chunks (not in small packets), boiled eggs under original warming figures, various sweets, delicious cheesecake, ... Attentive and friendly service. If I have a slight complaint... The filter coffee (we ordered it in a pot) was a bit thin, which can happen. The quark balls were not recommended; dry, with no filling. But that was the only thing that was "disappointing."

The brunch is highly recommended. A lovingly prepared and extensive buffet with delicious bread and all the trimmings. The homemade meat salad and cheesecake were especially delicious.

Excellent Location but sadly very poor Food Taste. Don’t order anything Indian. They just make anything and give it fancy Indian Name. I tried basilikum sahnesauce Pasta- it was not worth it. I am really sad with the food and that’s what we went there for. They Need to explore outside how the dishes in Reality Look like and how they Taste. For a good ambiance and Drinks it’s a great place but surely not for food unless you haven’t tried and tested it already.

Muttertag ruiniert – enttäuschend, überfordert, absolut nicht kinderfreundlich Wir waren an Muttertag zum Brunch hier und ich bereue es zutiefst. Eigentlich wollten wir einen schönen, entspannten Vormittag verbringen, wie es die Fotos und die Beschreibung des Restaurants versprochen hatten. Doch was wir erlebt haben, war das komplette Gegenteil eine überforderte, unorganisierte und kinderunfreundliche Enttäuschung, die absolut nicht dem entspricht, was öffentlich dargestellt wird. Schon beim Ankommen war das Restaurant viel zu voll, stickig, laut und dunkel. Von der angeblichen Kinderfreundlichkeit war rein gar nichts zu spüren es gab keine Spielecke, kein altersgerechtes Spielzeug, nur ein paar alte, unvollständige Brettspiele, mit denen ein zweijähriges Kind gar nichts anfangen kann. Mein Kind war völlig gelangweilt, weinte die meiste Zeit, weil es einfach keine Beschäftigung gab. Entspannung? Fehlanzeige. Ich war komplett gestresst und das ausgerechnet am Muttertag, wo man sich ein bisschen Wertschätzung und Ruhe erhofft hätte. Dass ein Restaurant gerade an so einem Tag kein Konzept für Familien mit Kindern hat, obwohl genau das beworben wurde, ist ein echtes Armutszeugnis. Das Buffet war eine Frechheit für 25 € pro Person ohne Getränke! Die Auswahl war lächerlich gering, viele Speisen waren entweder nicht durch (z. B. Bratwürstchen) oder in einem traurigen Zustand (zermatschte Kuchenstücke, unappetitliche Präsentation). Das, was man auf den Bildern sieht, hat mit der Realität überhaupt nichts zu tun da fühlt man sich regelrecht getäuscht und verarscht. Frisches Obst? Fehlanzeige. Auf Nachfrage hieß es: „Kommt später.“ Aber wenn man nur eine bestimmte Zeit zum Brunchen hat, bringt einem „später“ rein gar nichts. Ich bin genau einmal zum Buffet gegangen, meine Kinder haben fast nichts gegessen und trotzdem wurde voll kassiert. Das Personal wirkte überfordert und unorganisiert. Teilweise wurde man nicht richtig verstanden, weil manche Mitarbeiter kaum Deutsch sprachen was es schwer machte, überhaupt einfache Bitten zu äußern. Einer der Angestellten gab sogar offen zu: „Wir haben heute einfach zu viele Gäste aufgenommen, das schaffen wir nicht.“ Wenn man weiß, dass man es nicht stemmen kann, warum überbucht man dann gnadenlos? Das geht einfach gar nicht. Und der Umgang mit Kritik? Unfreundlich, abweisend, ohne jede Einsicht. Anstatt ein ernstes Gespräch zu führen, wurde einem halbherzig ein Getränk „aufs Haus“ angeboten wohl eher, um Diskussionen zu vermeiden. Ehrlich gesagt: Das war eher eine Beleidigung als ein Entgegenkommen. Ich wollte keine Geschenke, ich wollte einfach nur die Leistung, die versprochen wurde. Die Krönung: Man hatte das Gefühl, dass das Personal nicht wirklich interessiert war, eine Lösung zu finden. Diskussionen wurden abgeblockt, als sei der Gast selbst schuld an der schlechten Erfahrung. Meine Kinder waren enttäuscht, ich war enttäuscht und alles in allem war dieser Besuch einfach nur belastend. Wie dieses Restaurant zu so vielen guten Bewertungen kommt, ist mir ein Rätsel. Vielleicht war es früher mal gut aber das, was wir erlebt haben, war schlichtweg nicht akzeptabel. Niemand verdient es, für so eine schlechte Leistung so viel Geld zu zahlen. Und schon gar nicht an einem Tag, der eigentlich etwas Besonderes sein sollte. Fazit: Nie wieder. Wer Wert auf Qualität, Service, Kinderfreundlichkeit oder auch nur ein bisschen Ruhe und Struktur legt, sollte diesen Ort meiden. Für uns war das ein teurer, nerviger und stressiger Reinfall. Ich hätte den Muttertag wirklich lieber anders verbracht.

Mother's Day ruined - disappointing, overwhelmed, absolutely not child-friendly We went here for brunch on Mother's Day and I deeply regret it. We actually wanted to spend a nice, relaxing morning, as the photos and the description of the restaurant had promised. But what we experienced was the complete opposite: an overwhelmed, disorganized and child-unfriendly disappointment that is absolutely not what is portrayed publicly. As soon as we arrived, the restaurant was too full, stuffy, loud and dark. There was absolutely no sign of the alleged child-friendliness - there was no play area, no age-appropriate toys, just a few old, incomplete board games that a two-year-old child couldn't do anything with. My child was completely bored and cried most of the time because there was simply nothing to do. And the statement from the person in charge at the restaurant that child-friendly means that children are welcome was totally audacious. Then you don't advertise it in such an extreme way. Relaxation? None. I was completely stressed and on Mother's Day of all days, when one would have hoped for a bit of appreciation and peace. The fact that a restaurant doesn't have a concept for families with children on a day like this, even though that's exactly what was advertised, is a real indictment. The buffet was a disgrace for €25 per person without drinks! The selection was ridiculously small, many dishes were either not cooked through (e.g. bratwursts) or were in a sad state (mushy pieces of cake, unappetizing presentation). What you see in the pictures has nothing at all to do with reality - you really feel deceived and ripped off. Fresh fruit? None. When asked, they said: “Come later.” But if you only have a certain time for brunch, “later” won’t do you any good. I went to the buffet exactly once, my children ate almost nothing and still got paid in full. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. Sometimes people weren't understood properly because some employees barely spoke German, which made it difficult to even make simple requests. One of the employees even openly admitted: “We just took in too many guests today, we can’t do it.” If you know you can't handle it, why do you overbook mercilessly? That just doesn't work at all. And how to deal with criticism? Unfriendly, dismissive, without any insight. Instead of having a serious conversation, you were half-heartedly offered a drink “on the house”, probably to avoid discussions. To be honest, that was more of an insult than a concession. I didn't want gifts, I just wanted the service that was promised. The cherry on top: You had the feeling that the staff wasn't really interested in finding a solution. Discussions were blocked as if the guest was to blame for the bad experience. My children were disappointed, I was disappointed and all in all this visit was just stressful. How this restaurant gets so many good reviews is a mystery to me. Maybe things used to be good, but what we experienced was simply unacceptable. Nobody deserves to pay so much money for such poor performance. And especially not on a day that was supposed to be special. Conclusion: Never again. Anyone who values ​​quality, service, child-friendliness or even just a bit of peace and structure should avoid this place. For us it was an expensive, annoying and stressful failure. I really would have preferred to spend Mother's Day differently.

What we experienced, however, had precious little to do with that. "Parent-friendly" apparently simply means that children are allowed here – but there's neither a play area nor any other activity options for children. So, for families with small children, this is simply misleading – we expected more. But that was unfortunately just the beginning. The brunch costs 25 euros per person – without drinks. For that price, you should at least expect a certain level of quality. Instead: empty containers at the buffet, missing plates, no bowls, hardly any cutlery – and our table wasn't even set. The server's brief comment: "The table isn't set, but you'll find the cutlery at the buffet." Seriously? For a buffet at that price? The buffet itself was also a disappointment: It consisted of a single small table that could accommodate maybe ten people at a time – with around 150 guests trying to serve themselves at the same time. The result: constant crowding, no structure, no peace and quiet – and, of course, constantly empty plates. Especially annoying when you consider that you've only booked two hours for brunch. This lack of organization quickly turns into real stress – instead of enjoyment. Incidentally, we were out again after less than an hour – not because we ate so quickly, but because it was easy enough. The entire experience felt rushed, uncaring, and haphazard. The quality of the food was mediocre at best, with no trace of variety or refinement. And they took their time refilling drinks – if they even came at all. When we politely pointed out the many shortcomings and suggested a small price reduction, we were offered a single drink on the house – for three adults, a 13-year-old child, and a toddler, who together paid over 100 euros. That's not a concession – it's a slap in the face. Conclusion: This restaurant clearly thrives on outdated reviews, not actual quality. Overpriced, poorly organized, family-unfriendly, and far from what you'd expect for the price. We're honestly disappointed, feel ripped off, and will definitely not be coming back. A serious warning to anyone planning a relaxed brunch with family: Don't do this.

The location is fantastic, we will come back in summer to sit outside under the wonderful bergische land forest. But Dinner was disappointing. I had the Indian fish curry and even didn’t recognize the Daal, it looked like…. Another of our group had corean Bryani , it was absolutely without ambitions. A really nice place to visit. Went there for brunch on a Sunday in early March 2025. The €25 for this was certainly not a bargain, but the atmosphere of the whole place made up for it. A small market offers various decorative items. The restaurant itself is also really nicely decorated. You notice the attention to detail. The service is very friendly but not particularly familiar with the menu. Questions could not be answered immediately. For example, if you offer a soup of the day, you should also know what kind of soup it is. The restaurant was maybe 20% full. But the waiter had reached his limit. But as I said, the really friendly service means you can get over the negative things. The food was good but not outstanding. We've eaten better here. Our impression is that the focus is more on cakes and tarts. I myself had the country house schnitzel with salad and fries. Unfortunately no sauce was offered, so the combo was very dry. My wife had a very good vegetarian burger. There was nothing to complain about. The prices are really acceptable for today's times. Rather on the lower level. So a clear plus point. Conclusion. This café out in the forest is one of the most beautiful within a 30-kilometer radius. It's one of my favorite cafes. Since the café is located in the forest, the number of free parking spaces on site is limited. But you also have the option of parking a little outside on Rhönstrasse. From here it is a short walk of about 700 meters through the beautiful forest, on a paved road. Highly recommended.

It was always being refilled, but I lacked a bit of organization, somehow I had the feeling that the team was overwhelmed. What you noticed as a guest was that after ordering a coffee, our table could no longer order any more drinks because no service came to our table. Unfortunately, the person sitting next to me had wax from a candle behind us spill over her jacket. We would also have liked a more competent exchange. Maybe we were just unlucky there today...

The cake stand was nicely arranged with sweets and the sandwiches were also tasty, the "scones" were quite crumbly and due to the high number of visitors there was no menu to choose your tea. A pity. I also missed no hot water and lemon or milk. If I had asked, it would certainly have been brought. Personally, the 34 euros for tea, pastries, etc. were a bit too much for me

Staff completely overloaded because tables inside and outside were occupied. But one or the other was friendly and tried hard. It was ok and the idea was good, but no recommendation or coming back.

The salad wasn't really washed and didn't taste fresh either. During that time, 3 other complaints were made at the tables. No problem at all, but it wasn't handled well. The nice waiter always walked around with a tray full of small dessert glasses. A price was not mentioned, the bill then said EUR 3.90. (Unfortunately it didn't taste good either) One really assumed that it was a greeting from the kitchen, which used to be common here. When asked about the calculation, the waiter said oh, you didn't know that. :-( Since the food really isn't cheap, but the meat is worth it, it's 4 stars. Unfortunately there was no salad. For dealing with complaints, unfortunately for service only 2.

Nice country cafe in the middle of the forest. The food is very diverse and more than rich. The service friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, over the years the ambience has declined. Unfortunately, the upscale tableware (Villeroy Boch) was mixed wildly with simple white porcelain on the tables. The nice little sales room seems overloaded and no longer so loving. It would obviously be nice to be more careful here.

We sat outside in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoyed delicious cakes, cream cakes, English scones with clotted cream and also some more hearty specialties.

Enjoyed the late riser breakfast buffet there once again. Great quality of rolls and bread products, delicious fruit salad, good muesli and yoghurt, as well as a large selection of fresh fruit. The warm dishes, scrambled eggs, fresh champions, potatoes and small sausages, are super tasty and are always freshly replenished. My wife loves the pancakes. The service for drinks is always a little slower at the beginning because everyone comes at the same time, but the friendliness makes this pleasant. The coffee variants are freshly prepared and are very good. We think the services and quality match the price and can only recommend this café.

We were there twice (once inside, once outside). Unfortunately, both times we were a bit unlucky because the first meal we ordered was no longer available, the second meal we ordered wasn't available either and we had almost lost our appetite. The rhubarb spritzer was not a spritzer but still. In addition, the service takes a bit long...a shame

Great as always! A very, very cozy and unique atmosphere. In winter you can even sit in front of an open fireplace and there were plenty of candles scattered everywhere. There is still attention to detail here. Today the food was once again unique, especially the vegan dishes and the cake. We will come often.

Unfortunately, there was hardly any service in the beer garden because, according to the restaurant, the food that had been ordered and already paid for was suddenly no longer available. As a guest, that meant taking care of the replacement yourself. And twice in a row. The lack of service does not refer to the table service, but to taking care of mistakes made by the restaurant yourself. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the sun.

A cozy place located and almost hidden in a small valley in a forest area in Wuppertal. It looks almost like a former mansion that has now been turned into a very pleasant café and restaurant. They bake all their cakes and sweets on site and you can buy a range of local goods to take home too. The restaurant itself has a neat and calm appearance and gives a calm and pleasant atmosphere. We were there for their High Tea / Afternoon Tea, and here I can say right away that you get a lot for your money! Good freshly baked and warm scones with delicious and fresh jam and cream cheese. Good sandwiches / canapés with egg salad, cheese and vegetables, and finally and perhaps the very best, top level, i.e. the desserts. Again, all made on site. Unbelievably many good small cakes, macaroons, cupcakes and the like. Very fresh and good! In addition, they offer lots of different teas and we went for a rooibos-orange variety which was fresh and nice. All in all a very good and fun experience, apparently it's hard to find places that offer High Tea / Afternoon Tea so this was a good experience!

Were invited here for English High Tea. Mega good. We didn't know it and were thrilled. Will go again in the near future. But reservation is necessary!

Very nice restaurant, good food, nice staff. Right in the forest and fair prices. We had 2 burgers and 1 bottle of water for around €35. A greeting from the kitchen, 2 beef broths with bread were included for free.

It's a bit difficult for me, but I think this review is fundamentally important and, when in doubt, I chose the more positive side, but not everything is positive. I would normally have given the food a 3.5 or something similar because the quality was without a doubt really good. On the other hand, the price/performance ratio unfortunately doesn't fit at all; If I get a Wiener Schnitzel and it costs around 26 euros, then the price may be ok. If the portion - and that was the case with all the meat dishes I've seen - is so small that you actually need (at least) two of them to be halfway full (I mean that literally!), then that's it That's absolutely not okay and this saving in the wrong place will pay off at some point! The quality is good and in the end I don't care about the exact price, but that's too much; Buffet or All You Can Eat (in whatever form such as breakfast, brunch, cake, etc.) may be expensive, but I can live with that because I can at least eat as much as I want.

I think everyone deserves a second chance :-) During Corona times, we were in the country house cafe once, in the outdoor area, and weren't that enthusiastic. But last night we started the second attempt and are very, very impressed. We were greeted very friendly by a young woman (Sina) and the waiter, Kevin, also smiled at us when we sat down at the table. There, in the cafe, you sit like you're in a living room... just great, the grand piano in the middle of the large room, the buffet on the wall... a very nice atmosphere! It was quite busy, but we were quickly asked for drinks and the menu was brought to us. We took the country house schnitzel and the tagliatelle with pork medallions... a good choice, very good! It was outstanding! The beetroot salad was also a hit. And the “greetings from the kitchen”... great! (Tomato soup, but what a blast) including great bread. The whole time the staff was always available... and asked if there was anything else to do... To be honest, we like to eat out a lot, but I haven't eaten sooooo well here in Wuppertal for a long time. And was treated like a “queen”. (Queen= good customer) Thanks! Thanks for Kevin, Sina, the cooks and helpers in the kitchen! You'll see us again soon. Thanks.... P.S. Price-performance? Totally okay.

Today we went to the Landhaus Cafe for high tea for the first time. The portions are sufficient and everything was very tasty. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice - you think you're sitting in a living room. Given the price, we had actually expected that there would be free black tea, but that wasn't the case... We'll definitely try the hamburgers at some point, which looked very tasty.

The desire for a coffee and a piece of cake led me to this cafe, which is hidden in the middle of the forest. Well, the wish was not only fulfilled, but all expectations were far exceeded! All delicacies! From fresh waffles with cherries and rice pudding, a variety of cakes, rolls with sweet and savory toppings, to the typical English high tea - everything is perfect. And you can enjoy everything in a lovingly designed ambience.

High Tea Much Ado About Nothing

Nice cafe with very nice staff. We got a table despite everything being reserved. The food and the café were tasty and the price was acceptable. Unfortunately, the café has no public transport connection and is very remote. It was also very crowded. We might come back!
