Landgasthof Jägerstübchen in Neustadt an der Weinstraße

After a lovely hike from St. Martin via Hambach Castle, we almost passed by the beer garden, which seemed unassuming from the outside. When we stopped in, we were taken by the beautiful "oasis." We found a lovely spot by the pond, sheltered by parasols. The Palatinate cuisine was delicious. Special praise goes to the service: after ice cubes to cool a lump, I was handed a cooling pad. I thought that was excellent. They're still there, those kind gestures. Top quality and quantity.

Very well described...I only have one complaint: the price-performance ratio is absolutely more than adequate. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the hotel. 🤔 The small menu, although not "just" home-style, has little to do with "just" home-style cooking. Exceptional dressings and sauces, perfectly matched dishes, original creations!! Always served hot/warm. Very, very good, friendly, and prompt staff in a beautiful garden with a koi pond. It's not all falling from the Euro 💶 sky. Furthermore, the owner is also a winemaker himself and therefore has a wonderful, extensive wine list. Where, except perhaps in cooperative restaurants or Michelin-starred restaurants, are acidity and RZ values still printed?? The spirits list also deserves a mention. The mere mention of Scheibel/Kappelrodeck makes connoisseurs click their tongues 👅 everything can be purchased by the bottle, with almost no markup. ...and the dessert menu...great. Actually, I haven't had a single negative experience there yet. I've been there countless times. And I'm neither bribed nor am I part of the family in any way. ✌️✌️✌️😉😘

We were there from Monday to Thursday. Great base for cycling and hiking. I highly recommend the accommodation, especially the breakfast and the food. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but there are plenty of good alternatives for food. Very friendly hosts, we immediately felt like we were in good hands. We were able to store our e-bikes in the basement. We'll definitely be back. Best wishes from the Odenwald. 😉

I can only report positive things.

I had roast venison with dumplings. The meat was okay, but the dumplings were two stones that were inedible. The linguine wasn't a grown-up portion, more like a child's plate. The vegetables were also barely there.

Cozy restaurant with extensive menu. Very friendly staff. Very extensive wine list and because it is a wine producer also the possibility to purchase many wines at very reasonable prices.

Delicious, down-to-earth cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere We visited the Jägerstübchen country inn in Hambach on Saturday and were absolutely impressed by the quality of the food. The dishes are down-to-earth, very well cooked, and deliver what the menu promises – no gimmicks, but prepared with taste and care. Exactly as you would expect. The atmosphere is pleasantly rustic and inviting – a classic country inn with a feel-good atmosphere. A small note for future guests: It was somewhat disconcerting that we apparently didn't have a dedicated server assigned to us. As a result, we were asked for our drink order twice within a few minutes, and we were served by a total of three different employees over the course of the evening. While always friendly and attentive, a little more structure in the process would have improved the overall very positive impression. Nevertheless: A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates honest, well-made cuisine in a relaxed environment. We would be happy to return!

We spontaneously stopped by for a drink yesterday. We arrived about 40 minutes before they were supposed to open and, thankfully, were already served drinks. We'd love to come back.

We were only here for dinner, so I can't comment on the rooms. The service was attentive, friendly, and quick. The food was good, and the surroundings were beautiful, in the green surroundings beneath Hambach Castle. Everything feels very family-friendly; you feel like you're staying with your parents in the garden with its pond and koi fish.

I almost don't want to praise the Jägerstübchen restaurant, otherwise more guests might come and compete with us for the spot by the cozy koi pond. As always, the service staff were very friendly and attentive. The ambiance in the garden below Hambach Castle is simply fabulous. The food is of a high quality. The asparagus was steamed a little too briefly in the modern style for my taste. But I certainly could have pointed that out beforehand. We'll be happy to come back again.

When we are in NW we regularly visit the Jägerstübchen for lunch or dinner. Home-style cuisine is served at a very high level. The menu is “meat-heavy”, but there are always 3-4 vegetarian alternatives. Meat, whether beef or pork, is very tender, the spaetzle is outstanding (nice and thick), salad dressings and sauces are excellently seasoned. Absolutely recommended.

A very nice location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Many thanks to young Lukas, He really impressed us with his perfect performance. Lukas and his colleagues are role models for the young generation, of whom our country CLEARLY needs more. The dishes are arranged at a very high level, lovingly and interestingly, a wonderful place to enjoy and linger. Thank you very much, we felt SO WELL.

Ordered a table at 5:00 p.m. .. because apparently it wasn't available anymore .. then side dishes salad and then an hour wait for the dish .. which was served warm .. something is wrong .. At least for us it's a no go .. given the prices .. no idea where the other reviews come from

Top service, friendly staff, extremely delicious food.

Can that be over 4.5 stars with more than 1100 reviews? Yes, that can be true! We ate very well there. For starters we shared an almond saumagen as a starter. A fried slice of Saumagen, with plum mustard. Delicious! Creamy sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and almond slivers... just the way it should be! For the main course we had the beef roulade and the Argentinian beef steak. The medium/rear steak was on point. Top! I had never eaten horseradish with this before. Very sophisticated. The roullade was very successful, juicy, honest, tasty. Apple red cabbage mother's style with dumplings tossed in butter... wonderful. For dessert there was a crème brulee, which we shared. Delicious. Finally, a raspberry liqueur and a plum. With an additional 3 drinks, a total of under €50 per person! For this excellent food, the attentive, friendly service, in the beautiful location... YES! The reviews of 4.6 stars, which fits 100%

I can only review the restaurant here, as we didn't stay overnight. But the restaurant alone is worth the 5 stars. Everything was perfect here. We had a table reservation, which seems perfectly reasonable, as the restaurant is always busy. The local draft wines were delicious and easy to digest. For dinner, we had the Wiener Schnitzel with extra cream sauce for the lady and a Palatinate plate (bratwurst, saumagen, liver dumplings, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut) for me. My partner praised the schnitzel very much. My Palatinate plate was also very tasty and freed me from my saumagen phobia, which has plagued me since childhood. For dessert, there was a crème brulée and a "no-frills" dessert—an espresso with a mini crème brulée; I couldn't have eaten anything else. I would especially like to praise the wait staff, who were always attentive and friendly. Great. The ambiance, value for money, and service—everything was perfect. Anyone who has the opportunity to stop here should definitely take it. We'd love to come back again.

Fast service and the food was very good. Unfortunately, we were served alcoholic drinks even though we specifically ordered non-alcoholic drinks. While consuming them, I wondered how the drink could affect us even though it was non-alcoholic. When paying, we noticed that alcoholic drinks were on the bill. We were served the wrong drinks. Mistakes like this shouldn't happen!!! There was nothing more than an apology. Apparently, the young man who took our order didn't understand. But he didn't ask any questions! For someone, such a mistake could have serious and disastrous consequences. But the service staff didn't seem to care much. They were completely overwhelmed by the situation.

We were only in the restaurant and didn't spend the night. The food was an unexpected sensation. Worth mentioning - for a Palatinate wine bar - the great selection of vegetarian dishes. The ambience of the guest room is a little out of time. The cuisine and friendly service are simply recommended.

Well-attended restaurant with a wide range of dishes. I had roast venison with bread dumplings and red cabbage. The venison was tasty, the dumplings were too firm for my taste. I can't say anything about the rooms on offer (they were only for dinner).

I have to say everything was top The staff is really great, very friendly and very helpful if you have any questions! Rooms also great! 👍🏼 I drive a truck (18 T) for work and asked where I could park. Answer the phone, come here first and then we will show you the parking lot. I ok... I then drove there, but unfortunately I couldn't stop in front of the door at that moment because I had cars behind me. But the staff saw me and suddenly stood next to me, got in and showed me how to get to the parking lot! Simply great! 👍🏼 They made time for me even though there was a lot to do! Later I had dinner in the restaurant, which is also highly recommended. Breakfast this morning was great too! This morning I was also told how best to get back to the main road with the truck. Always my pleasure! ☺

We spent 2 nights in the Jägerstübchen from Sunday to Tuesday. Unfortunately, we were only able to enjoy the very good, tasteful and modern cuisine once, as it was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Next time we will arrive on Wednesday at the earliest. The breakfast is very good and plentiful. Hospitality is very important here. The double room was large and so was the modern bathroom. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for 2 lovely days.

Addendum September 2024: Once again visiting the Palatinate, we ate once again in the Jägerstübchen. The food was great: we were all more than satisfied! Whether classic schnitzel or Palatinate specialty such as brawn or Palatinate plate: everything is great. The Mini Crème Brulée as an accompaniment to espresso is a great idea. But what made the evening an experience was our nice waiter Mr. Müller: his open and positive manner - always with a mischievous smile on his face is something you rarely find anymore! Keep it up! 2020: Real food at fair prices. Nothing out of the ordinary - but no reason to complain either. We were satisfied and full. Despite the restrictions caused by Corona, all the waitresses were very friendly and thanks to the plexiglass masks you could also see the nice smiles!

Nice restaurant with very courteous service. My food tasted excellent. If I had been here alone, I would have given the full number of stars. Since my companion was served a risotto in which the rice was not yet cooked (I convinced myself), I deducted one star. It's a shame, but something like this shouldn't happen.

Last Friday we had dinner with friends in the Jägerstübchen. Overall, we had a lovely evening with very good food and cool drinks. The pond and the old trees provided a pleasant, cool shade. Because of the beautiful garden, we always prefer this restaurant when it is too hot elsewhere.

The telephone reservation worked well, the restaurant was very busy... We then realized why. It is simply outstanding! The aperitif that was actually on the house and ended up on the bill (we got the money back and don't take it offended at all, but with humor 😉), a wonderfully fruity passion fruit secco that is really worth ordering! Afterwards there was stuffed pork loin, but instead of spaetzle there were fried potatoes and stuffed tomato gnocchi with chanterelles and parmesan. The pork loin was accompanied by an excellent side salad with a really tasty dressing. Since everything was really great, we treated ourselves to a brownie with Palatinate figs, vanilla ice cream and red wine jus and an espresso with a small créme brulée. As a digestive we chose two extremely delicious liqueurs from Scheibel, an apricot and a forest blueberry liqueur. For the main course there was a great Pinot Blanc and a Gewürztraminer Kabinett. The price was really okay and the service was great. All attentive, friendly, funny. We love the Palatinate because they are simply more human than other members of their species. Warm, open and with this honest, wonderful manner. The @landgasthof_jaegerstuebchen has gained two new guests who will definitely come back. 😊 I can't say anything about the rooms as we only visited the restaurant.

We always come here when we went hiking around Hambach. An imaginative and varied menu that is updated frequently; All the dishes we have ordered so far have been delicious. Very friendly and attentive service and a nice atmosphere. In summer it's easy to endure the heat under the trees by the garden pond. What more could you want? Attention: reserve in advance!

Visit to the restaurant on a summer evening, the garden restaurant was very busy and you would probably expect tourist food. The opposite is the case. Hand-made cuisine, a great crispy fried pike perch that wasn't fried to death, on a mushroom risotto, with the usual local wines generously served and a winemaker's sparkling wine as a small aperitif - what more could you want? The service was friendly, the dog was provided with water on the terrace and both the dog and her are doing well. A clear recommendation, even or especially when there is a lot going on!

I had the pleasure of dining at Landgasthof Lägersdtübchen in Hambach and all I can say is that it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, exactly what you would expect from a traditional country inn. The food was excellent – ​​everything from the starter to the dessert tasted excellent. I was particularly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the attention to detail that was evident in every dish. The regional cuisine was presented here at the highest level. The service was also first class. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating without being intrusive. You felt completely comfortable and welcome. The combination of excellent food, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere makes the Landgasthof Lägersdtübchen a real insider tip in the region. I can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit!
