Nice cozy locale that serves good German food and great house brewed beer.

Very tasty Swabian food. The home-brewed beer is excellent. Friendly service at fair prices. Reservations are recommended on weekends or in the summer. Our roast beef with onions was cooked to perfection, the spaetzle were hand-scraped, and the chocolate cake had a super-liquid center.

Highly recommended. The inn is located between Stuttgart and the Black Forest and has a rustic feel. Great attention to detail. The ambiance was very fitting. The service was prompt, and guests benefited from short wait times. There wasn't a single moment when someone was just standing around. We shared a starter (goat cheese with salad – delicious), a main course, and dessert (Tartuffo Limoncello). All the dishes were truly delicious, the portions were very generous, and everything was served with a smile. We'll be back when we're in the area.

You can eat traditional German food cheaply and deliciously. Calw, the birthplace of Hesse, is nearby.

The preparation of the Angus beef with fried potatoes, as well as the Maultaschen soup, was excellent. Unfortunately, the Angus beef was marbled, and even immediately re-preparing a different piece of Angus beef didn't change that. However, this isn't the chef's fault; if anything, it's the supplier's fault. Many thanks for the excellent service and the pleasant atmosphere in the garden restaurant.

It was my first time there, and I wanted to see if it was as good as I'd been told. And all my expectations were exceeded. It was "Spanish Week," and I enjoyed the best paella I've had in years. The Rioja was also very good. Everything was just perfect; I'd love to go back again.

A wonderful restaurant in a historic setting. Located in the beautiful town center of Merklingen, it offers an interesting menu with delicious and sometimes changing dishes. The service is fast and very friendly, and the food and drinks are excellent. The beer garden is great, as is the rustic dining room.

Our first time here, and everything was perfect. We didn't have a reservation, and it was full, but we were still offered a seat. The food was excellent; the roast beef was cooked to perfection, the schnitzel was outstanding, and my special request for potato salad from fries was no problem. The service is super friendly, and everyone always has a smile on their face. We'll be back.

That was a real sentence with an X. First, we were yelled at (like the table next to us) for "just sitting down" at a free, unreserved table 40 minutes before closing time (there was nothing about waiting to be seated). Then, no cutlery was provided for our appetizers. Our drink preferences weren't asked for with either the appetizer or the main course (both were empty). We were only able to pay by hand without being waited on at the front. We've rarely felt so unwelcome. It's a real shame...

We recently stayed at the Landgasthof 1610 for the first time. The owner (?) is very helpful, caring and good with small children. The food was OK, but not outstanding. Unfortunately I didn't like the house beer.

The good, old country inn, which has settled in the middle of the town like an old tree, has developed into a true traditional restaurant. As soon as you enter, you can feel the rustic charm of the interior - furniture from the time when furniture was still allowed to be solid, and an ambience that reminds you of the honest feeling that the best stories are told at the regulars' table. The shady beer garden outside offers an oasis for those who want to escape the dreary everyday life. The service? Well, he's quick and attentive, as if you were the first guest of the evening, even if you were the twentieth. The waitress rushes over, friendly and quick, as if there was a price for speed. And the food! Oh, the food! It's as if someone has poured the soul of the place into a menu: strong, local, and as honest as the day is long. The dishes, rich in flavor and simple. The only disadvantage – the parking situation. Anyone who loves adventure can also try out the art of creative parking here. In short: The country inn offers everything that makes a real economy – warmth, friendliness, and the kind of food that leaves you happy and full. A recommendation for all those who are looking for the real and unadulterated.

Last week we went to the Landgasthof 1610 with friends again. It was Spanish weeks, the food was excellent and the beer was great anyway. Nice atmosphere in the beer garden, as always very good service and very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back.

It is currently Spanish week. The portions are plentiful and nicely prepared. The seafood and chicken paella was really good. The large selection of tapas makes it difficult to decide. The tapas variants were well prepared and very tasty. To the host: Some bread should be served with the tapa salami with cheese. Conclusion: The beer garden is really great. The tables are a bit crooked due to the terrain. The conditions are nice and really fast. I recommend this restaurant

This country inn/beer garden actually deserves 6 stars!! The service ladies can't be surpassed in their friendliness, and every request is met immediately, all the ladies in service are happy to help at every table, ask in a friendly manner and help is provided! The menu has a delicacy for every taste, and the prices are completely reasonable for this overall package. The ambience is simply beautiful, a place to linger. We'll definitely come back🤗

I ate the cheese spaetzle, which was delicious, and before that there was a salad 🥗 which also tasted very good. I found the drinks and juice spritzers borderline expensive. I can recommend eating out here because it was nice to linger in the garden. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Went there spontaneously for lunch and were very satisfied. Service top! Simply friendly staff via Insta, telephone and live and you feel welcome. The food was also great and the atmosphere 👍

Nice, modern, rustic restaurant with a good menu (vegetarian options are also possible / there are more than just cheese spaetzle). Super friendly service, children's wishes are responded to flexibly. The food was delicious! Only the portions of the 2nd and 4th dishes could have been a little larger. I would come again.

We always enjoy being guests at the Landgasthof 1610: The employees are always friendly and show that they enjoy their work, which is no longer a given these days. The varied daily meals are of excellent quality and really tasted perfectly. Surprisingly, our highlight is the Asian dishes. Absolutely authentic, you can taste and see every spice - a huge compliment to the kitchen! I find the prices to be absolutely reasonable, quality and varied creations and, in my opinion, only homemade sauces should simply be worth a few euros more.

The food is delicious and special requests are gladly taken into account. We had a very nice evening with you. The service actually deserves a full 10 stars.

There were 5 people in the beer garden eating, we waited over an hour for the food, the last one had his food (Cheese spaetzle) when everyone else was already finished! The sausage salad and fried potatoes didn't taste like anything, I would describe the onion roast as a children's portion (€28)! Service was subpar, the best thing of the evening was the wheat beer! If you want to eat badly and expensively, this is the place for you!

There is a wood stove inside, which makes you cozy in winter. In summer there is a small beer garden. Since it is always busy, it is worth making a reservation in advance. Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor as the streets in this area are narrow and branched.

Ein uraltes Haus, liebevoll erhalten und eingerichtet, und so richtig urig und gemütlich, direkt neben der alten Kirchenburg im alten Ortskern gelegen. Das Essen ist hervorragend, und auch Extrawünsche werden erfüllt. Oft sitzt man hier sehr lange, weil man mit allen ins Gespräch kommen kann. Auch Events kann man hier gut feiern, die Versorgung ist rundum spitze!

Telephonisch reserviert - also bei einem real existierenden Menschen. Für 12 (!) Personen, die für ein Familienfest aus ganz Deutschland angereist sind. Wir standen vor einer verschlossenen Tür! Weder auf der Homepage noch hier (da stand ein grün leuchtendes ,geöffnet‘) wurde auf diese überraschende Schließung hingewiesen. Per Mail habe ich nur eine Bestätigung meiner Reservierung erhalten. Vielen Dank für diesen misslungenen Abend und die Blamage!!
