Good and planty food, free soup at lunch

Not only is the heating off, so the guests are sitting there in thick coats, but the food is nowhere near warm. There can be no question of hot. Chairs and tables are very dirty and many are worn out.

NEW OWNERS, AND STILL GOOD QUALITY! Unfortunately, me and my wife don't go to Berlin very often, but when we do we like to eat there. After years the owners changed, but fortunately neither the good quality nor the majority of the staff changed. Duck and lamb dishes are highly recommended to everyone.

Unfortunately we can no longer recommend it as the service has deteriorated significantly! Customers sometimes have to wait 20 minutes or longer for their food. When we point out that the lunch break is almost over and there is no longer enough time to eat, the waiter responds flippantly that there is too much going on today. However, the restaurant was not particularly busy. Sometimes customers have to walk to the counter to pay for their food because the waiters don't come to the table to collect. Good service is something else!!! It's a shame, I've enjoyed eating there during my lunch break for years, but the shop has changed for the worse since the owner changed.

Indian with a mixed impression - solid service, good cuisine, but room for improvement The "Lal Haweli" in Berlin's Alt-Moabit offers classic Indian dishes in a pleasant location. The service was very quick and friendly during my visit – a plus! The food also came quickly and tasted good. However, my hot curry was disappointing with its mild spice. An improvement was possible, but it came too late. The ambience seemed a bit old, which detracted from the overall impression. It's a shame, there's more potential there! Conclusion: Good taste and quick service, but visual freshness could significantly improve the experience. Recommended for uncomplicated Indian cuisine.

Food was very good, both mine and my companions. I can highly recommend Vegetable Korma. Portions are reasonable, both the dishes and the rice that comes with them. The only drawback: It was very cold. When the outside temperature was 2°C, the interior felt like it was 16°C. This problem definitely doesn't exist in the summer, but in the winter I was a bit cold after sitting for a long time.

It was a good experience. The food wasnt fresh at all. The curries were made red and looked as if artificial colours have been used. The naan smelled of very strong yeast.

Caution! Juicy price increase at this restaurant! Plus incorrect VAT invoice! Unfortunately, I will avoid this restaurant in the future because, incomprehensibly, the prices have recently increased by up to 100-200%, and the food felt like it was half of what it used to be... that's a rip-off at a high level and not at all understandable...(bread) 1.50€ is now 2.90€ and a soup that once cost 3.50€ costs 5.50-6.00€ or more... the portions have also become noticeably smaller... and then the constant Arguments “Due to inflation” the prices would be like this... strangely enough, inflation goes down again but the price remains the same for the dishes, strange right? And there is no statement from Lal Haweli about it either... apparently only the positive posts are commented on but not the critical posts.

Very good place for lunch, they have a great lunch menu with good selection and affordable dishes. For just over €10 you can get a mango lassi and lunch, plus soup and a salad. The service is quick and friendly. There are also plenty of seats and the atmosphere is cozy.

By chance we came across this restaurant with Indian food just around 10:00 p.m. (Fri). In short: It was a 5-star experience in terms of food and service. Reason: A newer chef (according to service) Only a few chefs of Indian cuisine in Germany are so well versed in the use of spices. Both dishes were a sensory highlight at a very moderate price.

If you have around 40 years of experience with Indian food... around the world you can say: SUPER LEKKER and authentic.
