My meal was delicious and hot, and arrived very quickly, but the pizza I ordered took a very long time. The espresso was good and hot, but the service was okay.

A warm welcome. We got a table without a reservation after a short wait. Friendly service and excellent food. The wine was at the perfect temperature. We'll make a reservation next time we're passing through.

We placed two large orders for our event. Both times were flawless, simply fantastic. We'll definitely be back and ordering from them for future events :-) Highly satisfied from everyone.

Friendly service, and the pizza was served quickly. Nice thick crust, plenty of cheese. Too many onions for my taste, but I'll mention that next time. The location near the train station is mediocre, but inside the restaurant, you can forget about that :) Thank you!

Today we ordered a pizza at La Taverna for the first time in ages. It was salty and the toppings were very scant. We were disappointed!

We went out to eat with a larger group. Oriana prepared everything perfectly, and the service was first-class. We were already familiar with the pizza. But our guests were absolutely thrilled. The portions are super-sized. Everything is just right here—quality and quantity. Thank you, and we'll be back.

Highly recommended but best to reserve

A beautifully located Italian restaurant where you can enjoy delicious pizza from a wood-fired stone oven, just like in Italy, and the atmosphere makes you want to come back to try other dishes. I'll be back whenever I'm in the area. I highly recommend it. 😋

We went there for the first time yesterday for my father's birthday. It was spontaneous, and we managed to snag a spot. I'd already heard from friends that it was very good, and it proved to be true. The staff there are simply amazing. Everyone is really nice and friendly, and everyone is beaming. The food was also amazing, and they even played a birthday song for my father on a stereo. What particularly struck me was the cleanliness. From the floor to the restroom, everything was very, very clean. We'll definitely be back and are already looking forward to the next time. Thank you again to everyone for my father's amazing birthday.

Really good lunch, great pizza! 🍕

Ordered here with my girlfriend twice. Once we sat down inside and one time we ordered for takeout. This place has become one of my favorites really quickly. The spaghetti carbonara were truely unbelievable and the Rigatoni al forno where made to perfection. Portions were perfectly sized and the prices astonishingly cheap. We also ordered a Pizza for takeaway another day and not only was it made extremly fast, it was everything Italian pizza should be like. I loved the atmosphere here and the staff is super friendly, cute and helpful. We originally just wanted to test this place out but now we are planning to come here regularly. A must visit for anybody visiting Heilbronn that loves italian food. The closeness to the B&B and the main station are also very nice since parking could become a problem otherwise. UPDATE: We have been going here once every week since March 2025. This has become our favorite restaurant and the staff is incredibly friendly. We have tried various things on the menu and all of them tasted incredible. I want to give a special thanks tothe people in the kitchen, you are incredible. Also special thanks to the waiters, as theyare always very friendly, very patient and very interested in helping customers. This is a must visit in Heilbronn

A culinary nightmare in three acts: heat, ignorance, and pizza kidnapping. Imagine: You go out to party with a friend, full of anticipation for Italian food, dolce vita, a little bit of amore... What we got was: Dante's 10th Hell with tomato sauce. It was so hot that even the dough on the plate kept baking. The air conditioning? Yes, it was hanging there. It looked very modern. But it wasn't working. Maybe it was just decoration or refused to work in solidarity with the service. I was sweating like a Gorgonzola in the midday sun – and that was the most pleasant part of the evening. Then the waiter came. And with him: the tragedy of the evening. My friend, delicate and hungry, wanted the second part of her pizza. She even said, "I'd like to eat more." The waiter looked at her, took the pizza – and left. No "Oh, sorry," no "Should I wrap it?", not even a sad look back. Just... gone. We were stunned. I think even the pizza was shocked. Service level: "Give me your food, I know better than you when you're full." Ambience level: Heat chamber at "I see dead tomatoes" level. Recommendation: If you want to know what ignorance with a cheese crust feels like – have fun. Otherwise: run. Walk. Or roll. The main thing is to get away.

The best pizza in Heilbronn for years!

We had a wonderful evening at La Taverna – a real highlight! The service was consistently professional, friendly, and attentive, without being intrusive. You feel warmly welcomed from the very first moment. We would especially like to highlight the pizza – simply fantastic! Freshly prepared, topped with high-quality ingredients, and cooked to perfection. The dough was crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy on the inside – exactly how an Italian pizza should be. The other dishes, from the appetizer plate to the dessert, were also delicious and lovingly presented. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family. You can tell that the cooking and work here is done with passion. A huge compliment to the entire team. We will definitely be back!

We had dinner today at La Taverna with a table for 2 people without a reservation at around 7 p.m. That was great. We were served immediately and were able to order typical Italian dishes from a well-stocked menu. We chose grilled salmon, once with champion cream sauce and once with crab cream sauce. There were tagliatelle noodles as the chosen side dish. Other side dishes are also possible. After about 15 minutes our food arrived and I have to say it was delicious, simply delicious, so delicious that I could have licked the plate, which of course I didn't. The quantity was more than enough to fill me up and then came the bill which, with a non-alcoholic drink in size 0.4l, came to less than €30. All in all a great restaurant with excellent service, delicious food and reasonable prices therefore 5 out of 5 stars. I'd love to come back!

Extremely disappointing - unfortunately not a pleasant experience We visited La Taverna as a family to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday. Unfortunately, our impression after the visit was entirely disappointing. The restaurant itself seems charming at first glance - small but stylishly furnished. But unfortunately this is more appearance than reality. The first negative impression started with the service. When we ordered, the waiter gave us the impression that we were unwanted - annoyed, bored and without any friendliness. At first we found his monotone and sarcastic manner a bit amusing, for example when he jokingly said after every choice of food: “We didn't have it.” But the longer this went on, the more uncomfortable we felt as guests. The waiting time for the food was acceptable, but the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. The starter - consisting of a salad and a vegetable platter - was heavily soaked in oil and vinegar, completely overpowering the taste. The salad was literally swimming in the marinade and the vegetables seemed anything but fresh. The pizzas tasted okay, but were by no means justified given the high prices. Apparently the ingredients were saved - the remaining toppings seemed to be hidden under a large amount of arugula. The gnocchi and lasagne were also just mediocre. The low point, however, was my mother-in-law's fish dish, which was served with fried broccoli. As soon as she tried the broccoli she felt sick. The other family members also tried it - and agreed: the broccoli tasted old and unpleasant. The fish itself was hardly recognizable as such - visually and in consistency it was more reminiscent of burnt eggplant or a well-done steak. The taste was also inedible. My mother-in-law became sick so she couldn't even begin to finish the plate. When I tried it, I also felt sick and had to spit out the bite. We politely pointed out the deficiencies to the waiter - particularly the spoiled taste of the broccoli and fish. However, the reaction was disappointing: a curt “It’s fresh” – without insight, without apology. He reacted to our further information in a stroppy and didactic manner. Even a simple request for two more drinks was ignored - they weren't served but were still charged on the bill. Conclusion: Our visit to La Taverna was consistently disappointing. Instead of a nice family birthday dinner, we were left with an unpleasant experience with bad food, poor ingredients and unfriendly service. For the prices charged, the quality offered is in no way justified. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Had a great dining experience here! The penne with aubergine was flavorful and cooked just right, with a rich and well-balanced sauce. The pizza mozzarella was another highlight—the dough was light and crispy, with just the right amount of smokiness from the wood-fired oven, which truly enhances the flavor. The staff was very friendly and even showed me the oven, explaining the process of making the pizza. It was beautiful to see it being prepared fresh! The wine collection was impressive, and the beer from the Fass was fresh and smooth. The desserts were also delicious, making for a perfect sweet ending. The cozy ambiance and warm service made the experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting!

We reserved a table for two families with children. As soon as we entered the restaurant, our children were viewed with suspicion, even though it was known that we were coming with children. The service was otherwise quite ok. The pizza was medium average, so nothing special. I've eaten better ones. The toilets are very narrow, which doesn't make it any easier to go to the toilet with a child and there is NO way to change a diaper. Then, out of necessity, I did it on the floor in the restaurant. Luckily it didn't bother the person at the next table. I was a little uncomfortable, but hey, what else should I do. Leave my child in the bed?

La Taverna is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city! We have dined here many times with family and friends and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The food is great, especially the pizzas, which are prepared with a wood burning oven. If you plan on eating in, make a reservation or just call to see how busy it is. On some days you won't get a table otherwise.

The other dishes such as pasta and antipasti are also convincing across the board. The pizza at La Taverna Pizzeria impresses in terms of taste across the board - the dough is airy, the toppings are fresh. However, during one visit it happened that the edge was a bit burnt. The cutlery, however, was less pleasing: the knives were so dull that cutting the pizza became a challenge. It would definitely be time to invest in new knives. The service could also be a little more attentive. Even though it wasn't busy, we had to wait some time to be served. Friendlier and faster service would make the overall experience more enjoyable. Conclusion: Great taste, but with room for improvement in terms of service and facilities.

Very nice restaurant. I was in there for the first time today (otherwise I just walked past) it looks really chic and cozy. (Nice for dates 😉) I ordered a pizza 🍕, it was very tasty 😀 and tagiatelle with salmon and spinach. It was also very good, but the sauce was a bit too runny. Ciao bella, This restaurant is probably one of the oldest pizzerias in Heilbronn. For me she has the best pizzas in Heilbronn. The ambience is very romantic and pleasant. The house is in a modern condition. Very tasty and friendly Italians like in Italy.

Unfortunately I have to say that the pizza doesn't taste like it used to, which is a shame.

As already mentioned in other reviews, I can also confirm: I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant in Germany. When I got my pizza, I personally found it a bit dry and so I kindly asked the waiter if I could get some extra tomato sauce. He simply said "no." I laughed at first because I thought it was a joke, but I actually got nothing. A moment later he said something to his colleague and everyone looked over at us and laughed. It made me incredibly uncomfortable. I would NEVER go there AGAIN. It's a shame, because the restaurant itself is really nice.

Now I can understand why so many guests write negative reviews. So first something positive, the only positive point: ambience. Just a little dark, but for me the room was well designed. Now something negative: food and service. In Germany I never expected that all the waiters in every restaurant would have a smile on their face. But I'm expecting at least one apology from the restaurant when I pulled out a 3-4cm piece of rubber band in my dish... instead: "that was just spinach rubber band". “We can make another portion”…. Speechless... today was the first time at their place because I've often driven past them, but I never want to go back... what a shame for an Italian restaurant since 1985...

The service was actually quite nice. I ordered a normal lasagna. The cheese on top of this one was burnt and therefore didn't taste good. The content of the lasagne was also a bit special, it contained peas and eggs. However, I can recommend rigatoni al forno with garlic, it tastes very good.

We waited a full 45 minutes for the carpaccio and another 15 minutes for the gnocchi al forno, even though the restaurant wasn't even at full capacity. Always thought that if two people ordered, the food would come at the same time. I had to ask the waiter three times if he had forgotten us. Rarely have I had such bland and tasteless food at an Italian restaurant. Price-performance fails completely. Will avoid this place

The last time I was at La Taverna Vecchia was in the 80s or 90s. I have to say it still tastes as good as it did back then. The edge of the pizza is exactly as it should be. 😋 Recommendations are definitely out and we will definitely eat there again. 🍽️ 🍕 🇮🇹 🫶

The pizzeria makes a very good impression from the outside. You also feel very comfortable inside. However, the food doesn't match this impression at all. We had three pizzas. All of them were burnt, had hardly any cheese and tasted almost exclusively of the very intense tomato sauce. The dressing on the salad was also way too intense. However, there is also the positive point that the staff was very friendly.

Lasagna was not fresh. Not hot was definitely frozen and then warmed up again. Doesn't deserve the name lasagna. Baked crust was hard and dark. I can't recommend it!

Very rude service, burnt pizza and advertised offers are deliberately ignored when ordering in order to be able to charge more money. Absolute impudence, absolutely not recommended.

I made it clear to the waiter and mentioned several times that me and my friends would have the student menu (this includes a pizza plus a small drink). After we named our pizzas and our drink (it should be noted that we didn't mention the size of the drink but SPECIFICALLY wanted the student menu), after a while our pizzas and drink arrived. I can't complain much about the pizza (except that they saved on the mozzarella). However, the waiter was very rude and often looked at us angrily and words like “please” or “thank you” were hardly or never used. At the end we were asked to bring the plates and glasses to the front (what are waiters employed for??) and when we wanted to pay we were told the regular price of >17€. We then pointed out that we had ordered the student menu. We were then told that a large drink would not be included (and again: we did not mention the size of the drink, we just pointed out the student menu and we were then given a large drink (we thought it would be part of the menu, since I pointed out several times, also in Italian, that we wanted a student menu)). After we pointed out AGAIN that we had bought a student menu and didn't want a "normal menu", the owner was so "kind" and we "only" had to pay €15 instead of the €9 that was offered as the price . I have never experienced such impudence and personally I will never eat here again! (Note that I wasn't a regular customer and I was more of a regular customer!). I've never been so ripped off as I was that day!

Went to the restaurant at 7 p.m. and were sent to the table listlessly. We were then allowed to drink 20 Order minutes later and it finally arrived at 7:45 p.m. Unfortunately, we were only allowed to order drinks after we waved. Service is really unfriendly and doesn't communicate with guests. Unfortunately there was no “hello” or “what could it be?” Starter was good pizzas sometimes too burnt or too doughy and soggy with tomato sauce. Unfortunately, my salad with chicken was dressed with ready-made dressing and the chicken was too dry.

Tolles Restaurant mit Verbesserungspotential im Detail. Wir waren schon öfter hier und es hat uns immer geschmeckt. Beim letzten Besuch gab es leider bei den Nudeln und dem Dessert kleine bis größere Kritikpunkte. Vorspeise, Bruschetta war sehr lecker. Meine Frau hatte zum Hauptgang die Nudeln mit Muscheln. Hat wirklich super geschmeckt und war schön angerichtet. Aber dieses mal war es leider sehr scharf, obwohl dies nicht auf der Karte steht. Meine Frau konnte dies nicht fertig essen. Meine Pizza mit Meeresfrüchten war mega. Toller Teig, wie auch der Belag. Basta 😊 Jetzt kommt leider der große Kritikpunkt. Das Tiramisu. Bitte nachbessern!!! Warum Sahne? Und warum fertige Schokosoße? Wenn die zwei Punkte wegbleiben, ist schon mal viel gewonnen. Die Tiramisu selbst bitte nochmal überarbeiten. Preislich insgesamt wirklich in Ordnung. Nur den Nachtisch lass ich hier in der Bewertung raus. Ambiente ist schön und modern. Der Lärmpegel ist eben manchmal dem hohen Besucheraufkommen geschuldet und für mich in Ordnung. Service war freundlich. Wir kommen wieder 😊

War das erste mal da. Die Pizza war wie in Italien. Einfach super. Eine Platzreservierung ist zu empfehlen. Freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch.
