La Piazzetta in Backnang

There are Lay's chips with a Subway sandwich flavor that are absolutely amazing, especially the Teriyaki flavor. They're my favorite snack, I highly recommend them.

The absolute lowest of the low! The worst restaurant I've ever been to. The service was a disaster; everything felt forced. I was there with a small child, with whom I shared my meal since he doesn't eat much. Later, my husband joined us and ate the leftovers I'd left on my plate, as well as the drink I'd left over because I hadn't liked the dish and we don't throw anything away as a family. When it was time to pay the bill, the waitress said they only accepted cash—which was quite odd, since everyone pays by card these days. We gathered the cash anyway and paid. The incredibly rude waitress then told us that next time we could only come back if we ordered one dish and one drink for all three of us. My husband responded diplomatically, but then the waitress started yelling. The behavior was appalling, the rudeness unparalleled. As soon as I walked in, she immediately told me that my handbag wasn't allowed on the windowsill. All in all, a terrible experience – we will NEVER come back!!!!

Before the coronavirus pandemic, we always loved coming here. We've been back twice recently. Unfortunately, the owner and this once charming location have changed quite a bit for the worse. For whatever reason, they no longer offer indoor dining. The former entrance now serves only as a counter for taking orders and handing out takeaway orders. While you can sit at the tables outside, to order you have to approach the not-so-friendly manager at the window, still wearing a face mask, and then pay directly. Outside, it's now a ghetto atmosphere. The once cozy old town has also succumbed to a kind of post-apocalyptic transformation. There was nothing wrong with the food, but the overall package, which was our motivation for visiting, isn't quite right anymore. We'll be back in a few months, but if it's still like this, then unfortunately that's it. Edit 7/24/24: Does anyone know what's going on with the place? There's a note on the door saying they're supposed to reopen in mid-June. According to the answering machine, it should have been open since the beginning of the year. But it's closed....
