La Piazza in Freiburg im Breisgau

The only nice thing here is the ambiance in the restaurant's courtyard, with its ivy-covered interior. Otherwise, the food is pretty mediocre, the staff is usually irritated, and the music repeats itself daily and is WAY TOO LOUD anyway!

Very warm welcome, the waitress was smiling, fast service, very good tasty dishes, soft and pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Everything seems great but something is missing. The service could try harder. The food is ok but nothing special.

The staff is quite friendly and attentive. The food...was more like warmed-up department store pizza. All the pizzas were the same shape (weird) and only lukewarm. The salmon was so dry, almost like Saharan dust. The calamari was plentiful and edible. So, next time, I'll go a few meters further.

The worst Italian restaurant I've ever been to! The pizza was like a frozen pizza, the shrimp were like they came from a can, it was just catastrophic! The pasta was like pasta from Aldi, it tastes 100 times better at home!!!

One of the worst things we had on our plate in Freiburg. Pizza in the freezer and pasta with no taste. It was also extremely cold in the restaurant. Never again.

A simple Italian restaurant in the center of Freiburg. I only ate one carbonara but it was excellent. The wine is simple but very fair price. All in all we can recommend the restaurant

Unfortunately I can only agree with some of the reviews here :-( Are they frozen pizzas? (I'd bet money) Were there with several people and everyone agreed that it had to be a ready-made pizza? It's a shame, as the starter (salad/bruscetta) was ok. A pasta dish (Gorgonzola spinach) was just cream, not even a tiny bit of Gorgonzola flavor. At the end an affogado, almost no vanilla ice cream but the glass full of spray cream, we know that differently. Our feeling was unanimous: we won't go there anymore. There are a lot of good pizzerias in Freiburg, unfortunately there is no alternative here.

So, the ambience and service were good. I have to say about the food: the pizza is a disgrace for an Italian restaurant. It's a small sheet pizza with a bad yeast dough, the cheapest toppings, and the cheese has no taste. Everyone can get the pasta at home just as well, if not better. The side salad has a good base thanks to the fresh vegetables, but the dressing is store-bought and not even typically Italian, which actually makes the whole thing sad. We also had a carpaccio with the pizzas, which was okay, but nothing special. There was also turkey schnitzel with fries, and that was actually the best of the whole meal. The price-performance ratio is sad, and as an Italian restaurant I would really think about why the breaded turkey schnitzel tastes best.

We had lunch here, we had lasagna on our radar, it was a strange experience. Eating lasagna with a layer of hard-boiled eggs is not recommended. It was really hot too, the further you got to the middle the colder it got. The service did something good again.

Pizza and pasta are even better at the main station than here…

The food (I ordered Penne Broccoli Gamberetti) was nothing special, tasted at "train station level"; it is definitely not worthy of a restaurant. It tastes better in any other restaurant! The shrimp were super puny, the smallest of them Kind of shrimp (maybe someone knows the ones in the Aldi refrigerated section... these were the ones). The service doesn't live up to the meaning of the word. In short: definitely not recommended, every L'Osteria tastes better.

La Piazza es un fabuloso restaurante italiano en Friburgo. Se encuentra en Rathausgasse 50 , en el centro histórico de la ciudad. Es un restaurante de dos plantas y la escalera interior tiene una balaustrada de madera que es bastante atractiva. La decoración en el interior es bastante agradable aunque simple. Las imágenes se colocan en las paredes con mucho gusto y las lámparas son bastante originales. Está muy bien iluminado por el día. El ambiente es excelente. El personal es muy amable y servicial, así como muy profesional. La comida es muy salada. Pedí espaguetis aglio, olio e pepperoncino. Me gustó ese plato. Estaba muy sabroso y cocinado en su punto. La ensalada que comí como guarnición también estuvo muy buena. Por lo tanto, recomendaría ir a ese restaurante y comer allí a cualquiera que vaya a Friburgo.

We spontaneously went to La Piazza on Friday evening, but unfortunately we were very disappointed with the visit. The pizza left a lot to be desired, and the pasta dishes didn't convince us either. My Pizza Funghi was boring in terms of taste - the dough was dry and the tomato sauce had hardly any flavor. What should be highlighted positively is that the pizza was topped with fresh mushrooms, but that alone wasn't enough to save the overall impression. The wine we ordered with it was unfortunately undrinkable and further spoiled the evening. Despite the nice atmosphere and friendly service, we probably won't visit this pizzeria again. Too bad!

Our food was okay, we had rump steak. Unfortunately the pizzas weren't good. Strangely enough, every pizza has the same fit and looks like they are frozen ready-made pizzas. The covering is simply added. If that's really the case it would be sad.

The restaurant felt like a fast food restaurant and not a place where you can sit and enjoy the food and company. The pizza we ordered was okay but the pasta pesto is something we would not recommend! It tasted like store bought pesto. The service was also very fast paced and not very friendly. It was ok at best, unfortunately I can't say more. The pizzas look like they were pre-baked and didn't come out of the pizza oven. Looks a lot like ready-made pizza. Plus it wasn't good cheese, not mozzarella. That's also just ready-made pizza level. It was cold in the restaurant.

Wow!! Location, Ambience, Food & Service! All Wow! Location is the quadrangle courtyard in the center of the building,,, tall wall all around all the way with the windows looking into the courtyard... all covered with Ivy creepers & flowers! We had a Bruschetta with a Carafe of Merlot.... as starters For Mains we had the Riso Gambea Broccoli and a Lasagna Bolognaise.. All 3 dishes were great. When she learnt that we were here visiting the Black Forest for the first time, she treated us to a Tiramisu desert complimentary.... The icing was the service... the young Lady serving us, all smiles and laughter... made our evening.. Such a pleasure to be served by a waitress with such a happy demeanour! If the evening was a rating of 10, 6 was due to her! I would most certainly visit again...

Ich verstehe die mittlere Bewertung überhaupt nicht. Das Saltimbocca war ausgezeichnet. Auch der deutsche offene Wein war gut und zeigte ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Pizzen hatten einen dünnen Rand, so dass das Verhältnis von Teig zu Auflagen besser war als im den mit gut bewerteten Pizzerien!

Lovely place with good food and great potential, despite the fact that the courtyard was closed because of the rain. But such a shame that the staff is absolutely horrible. They are in a haste but it takes long to have their attention, have an angry expression on their faces and lack hospitality. Our servant barely said two words to us, which made us feel uncomfortable.

Unfortunately we weren't particularly happy. My tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms was too salty. The service was attentive, but very taciturn, almost grumpy. When we wanted to pay he just said the price. No receipt.

A nice and quiet restaurant with a beautiful courtyard full of wild wine. The food is average to good, we had an excellent Insalata Mare and Caprese. The main courses were Saltimbocca Romana (a bit bland, not very but a bit unfortunately) and Spaghetti A'Matriciana (also a bit bland, not very but a bit unfortunately). The two waitresses (one dark-haired, one red) very friendly, almost always running. I almost felt a little sorry for both of them. It took them about 30 minutes to order a bottle of water. They are too few for the number of tables, which are almost always full (estimated at 30-35 tables, with 2-6 chairs). 3 better 4 waiters, then I would give more stars. No criticism of the waitresses, they tried hard, the problem lies with the management. We would like to thank the extremely friendly waitresses for the evening with you, they were able to make the evening positive for us, as did my review. We wish you all the best for the future.

nous allons dans ce restaurant chaque fois que nous allons a Freiburg, celà fait presque 10 ans. Les prix sont toujours abordables, la quantité est là, mais la qualité ont y est plus du tout. Je prends a chaque fois des "tagliatelles dello chef" déjà la présentation, on dirait quelles ont été jetées sur l'assiette, le gout bof... mon mari les penne crudaiola, petites tomates et mozzarella, les tomates pleines de taches noires et la mozza c'est du fromage a pizza (filant). Je pense qu'on n'ira plus....

Every time I take "tagliatelle dello chef" already the presentation, it looks like they were thrown on the plate, the taste mediocre... my husband the penne crudaiola, small tomatoes and mozzarello, the tomatoes full of black spots and Mozza is pizza cheese (stringy). I think we won't go anymore...

We were there with a large group (15 people) and the first thing you thought was "that would never fit" because from the entrance you might think it's a small restaurant. But then you came to the very nice courtyard with plenty of space to sit. People like to stay there! The drinks were delivered very quickly, the food took a while, which wasn't surprising given the full garden and not bad at all. So you could enjoy your time there with great wine. Starters, main courses and desserts were all very well received by us! Only recommended. (With reservation) Service was also very attentive, there were two toilets, one in each house. Great taste. But even though the courtyard wasn't even a quarter full, we weren't even presented with a menu after 20 minutes. We then got these ourselves. The portion size didn't blow us away. Was just enough. And again a long wait until you could pay. That was the umpteenth time. And for the last time!
