Wow!! Location, Ambience, Food & Service! All Wow! Location is the quadrangle courtyard in the center of the building,,, tall wall all around all the way with the windows looking into the courtyard... all covered with Ivy creepers & flowers! We had a Bruschetta with a Carafe of Merlot.... as starters For Mains we had the Riso Gambea Broccoli and a Lasagna Bolognaise.. All 3 dishes were great. When she learnt that we were here visiting the Black Forest for the first time, she treated us to a Tiramisu desert complimentary.... The icing was the service... the young Lady serving us, all smiles and laughter... made our evening.. Such a pleasure to be served by a waitress with such a happy demeanour! If the evening was a rating of 10, 6 was due to her! I would most certainly visit again...

Ich verstehe die mittlere Bewertung überhaupt nicht. Das Saltimbocca war ausgezeichnet. Auch der deutsche offene Wein war gut und zeigte ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Pizzen hatten einen dünnen Rand, so dass das Verhältnis von Teig zu Auflagen besser war als im den mit gut bewerteten Pizzerien!

Lovely place with good food and great potential, despite the fact that the courtyard was closed because of the rain. But such a shame that the staff is absolutely horrible. They are in a haste but it takes long to have their attention, have an angry expression on their faces and lack hospitality. Our servant barely said two words to us, which made us feel uncomfortable.

Good value for money. Nice service and nice ambience. I liked it. A great outdoor area when the weather is nice.

Unfortunately we weren't particularly happy. My tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms was too salty. The service was attentive, but very taciturn, almost grumpy. When we wanted to pay he just said the price. No receipt.

A great family business with atmosphere and real Italian food.

There were 7 of us there yesterday and there wasn't that much going on at the beginning, which is why the food came quickly. There's not much to say about the food itself; any non-Italian can do it better at home. Maybe 1-2 more people should be hired for service, because you shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for your drinks. Sure, the beer garden was full at some point, but that should be taken into account on a Saturday evening. Only because of the cozy beer garden 2 stars and not just one...

Ambience and service is good. Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing pizza I have ever eaten. We have eaten pizza in Italy, Sardinia and Sicily and every one of them was good. Unfortunately, this is not good for a Sicilian chef. Pasta was OK.

Beautiful backyard. Staff is always running around busy, but is very friendly. The quattro formagi pizza was good, but the quattro formaggi pasta was totally blend.

A nice and quiet restaurant with a beautiful courtyard full of wild wine. The food is average to good, we had an excellent Insalata Mare and Caprese. The main courses were Saltimbocca Romana (a bit bland, not very but a bit unfortunately) and Spaghetti A'Matriciana (also a bit bland, not very but a bit unfortunately). The two waitresses (one dark-haired, one red) very friendly, almost always running. I almost felt a little sorry for both of them. It took them about 30 minutes to order a bottle of water. They are too few for the number of tables, which are almost always full (estimated at 30-35 tables, with 2-6 chairs). 3 better 4 waiters, then I would give more stars. No criticism of the waitresses, they tried hard, the problem lies with the management. We would like to thank the extremely friendly waitresses for the evening with you, they were able to make the evening positive for us, as did my review. We wish you all the best for the future.

We go to this restaurant every time we go to Freiburg, it's been almost 10 years. The prices are always affordable, the quantity is there, but the quality is not there at all. Every time I take "tagliatelle dello chef" already the presentation, it looks like they were thrown on the plate, the taste mediocre... my husband the penne crudaiola, small tomatoes and mozzarello, the tomatoes full of black spots and Mozza is pizza cheese (stringy). I think we won't go anymore...

nous allons dans ce restaurant chaque fois que nous allons a Freiburg, celà fait presque 10 ans. Les prix sont toujours abordables, la quantité est là, mais la qualité ont y est plus du tout. Je prends a chaque fois des "tagliatelles dello chef" déjà la présentation, on dirait quelles ont été jetées sur l'assiette, le gout bof... mon mari les penne crudaiola, petites tomates et mozzarella, les tomates pleines de taches noires et la mozza c'est du fromage a pizza (filant). Je pense qu'on n'ira plus....

Beautiful courtyard with lots of greenery. In the middle of the city. So this is an option in the summer evenings. The pizza came quickly and was tasty, the staff was friendly.

We were there with a large group (15 people) and the first thing you thought was "that would never fit" because from the entrance you might think it's a small restaurant. But then you came to the very nice courtyard with plenty of space to sit. People like to stay there! The drinks were delivered very quickly, the food took a while, which wasn't surprising given the full garden and not bad at all. So you could enjoy your time there with great wine. Starters, main courses and desserts were all very well received by us! Only recommended. (With reservation) Service was also very attentive, there were two toilets, one in each house. (Or maybe even more that we didn't find) See you next time! We'll be back!

Price performance is TOP Friendly service Nice courtyard

Great taste. But even though the courtyard wasn't even a quarter full, we weren't even presented with a menu after 20 minutes. We then got these ourselves. The portion size didn't blow us away. Was just enough. And again a long wait until you could pay. That was the umpteenth time. And for the last time!

The restaurant offers an overall good experience. The pizzas are a little smaller, but the price is right, the Margarita in particular offers excellent value for money. The salad was also very good. However, I recommend that couples order a shared salad rather than two side salads, as these are quite small and relatively more expensive than a large salad to share. My friend's pizza was extremely tasty, but mine wasn't in the oven long enough, which was certainly an exception. The ambience is particularly nice in the inner courtyard, while the interior of the restaurant is a bit old. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and it is also possible to pay by card.

Definitely one of the best places in Freiburg. You get good Italian food for a very affordable price. Definitely would recommend to try pizza Diavolo!

Have to adjust the review now 🙃 what was so good has deteriorated a bit in 4 years 🥺 place remains fantastic and the price is good. But the staff is so bad and unfriendly and even anti-social. It wasn't too bad for us, but not all around. Give another 4 stars for the place, but maybe less in the future if you have another experience like this.

There is one star for the ambience in the inner courtyard. Unfortunately, the lasagne we ordered was inedible and almost impossible to eat with a healthy palate. The low price wasn't any consolation either. A pity.

Die Pizza: eine sehr schlechte Tiefkühlpizza, überladen mit schlechtem Käse, die Tomatensauce nicht auffindbar, nicht essbar Antipastiteller: Schlechte Qualität, nicht gewürzt, nicht essbar. Preis: 10 Euro bis 15 Euro Für uns das erste und das letzte Mal im piazza. So etwas als italienisch zu bezeichnen ist unverschämt! Restaurants mit zu niedrigen Preisen werden wir ab jetzt ganz meiden.

Were in Freiburg today and ate in La Piazza for the first time. 2 p.m.: The restaurant was relatively busy. When we saw the low prices on the menu, we had a very bad feeling. A pizza for 10 euros in Freiburg?? How does it work? 1 point for the terrace. This was fine, location: old town and therefore great. Service: Quite quick and friendly. The food: terrible! To call something like that “Italian” is almost an insult. The pizza: Definitely a finished product (back visible), with very thin dough, almost no tomato sauce, but overloaded with a lot of bad cheese. Not eatable. It has very little to do with a pizza. The antipasta plate: Also horrible: Poor quality, not really seasoned... We couldn't eat it. For us it was definitely the first and last time. 1 star is too much for this meal. For us it is a mystery how this restaurant gets 4/5 points. The restaurant probably has customers who only care about the price. In addition, according to the menu, this restaurant advertises homemade dough. They seem to be taking customers for fools. If you're happy with bad frozen pizza, you can eat here. Would not recommend staff were too rude,we waited too long for order ,the staff were ignoring us when we wanted to order,the pizza was tasteless,reminded me of the frozen pizza you get at a supermarket,we sat outside it was very dirty plus it was too expensive for the bad quality food .

Despite reservations, we sat indoors when the weather was bad, but we sat outside in the courtyard when it rained. The inner courtyard was temporarily equipped with umbrellas and tarpaulins so that people were somewhat dry. The service is nice and very fast, and the food was on the table very quickly. However, the quality wasn't particularly great, nor was the taste. All in all, I expect more from a restaurant visit.

Unser Besuch an einem Sonntagabend in dieser Pizzeria war grundsätzlich gut. Insofern würde ich hier 3,5 Punkte vergeben. Qualität des Essens solide. Der Service ist etwas desinteressiert und man vergisst schon mal etwas. Wir hatten beide Scaloppa bestellt, einmal Marsala, einmal Vino Bianco. Serviert wurde zweimal Marsala. War lecker, aber da könnte man auch reklamieren. Die Mayo kam erst, als wir das Essen schon halb aufgegessen hatten. Preis-Leistung war in Ordnung.

We come here every week like a regular meeting and I usually eat pizza. We are usually served by the same lady, who makes me feel very welcome - like coming home for lunch. For me it is the ideal place for this: great location, nice atmosphere (especially the outdoor area), pizza very tasty and easy to eat (even at night!), service very good, pizza prices very fair. It's a highlight for me every week - thank you very much! A little bit of Italian vacation every week :)

Iconic place with authentic food!

Very friendly. We were very satisfied. What you wouldn't expect when you walk in, there is a very nice courtyard. The price-performance ratio is also right. It was a nice evening.

We were here with our primary school classes in two consecutive years, each time without much advance notice, i.e. only a few hours' notice. The children and teachers were always very happy, the staff were super friendly when it came to serving young people and the food was quick and delicious! We'll definitely be back!

So €10 for a baked pizza and €13 for a packet of soup is really not worth it. Only the service was good. If I didn't absolutely have to, I wouldn't eat here.

I had a bad experience at this restaurant today. We waited about 40 minutes for our order, which was very annoying. The pizza they served was not what we ordered and when I asked where the olives were they brought a plate of olives. The orange juice wasn't good at all, it was watery. Also, I would like to mention that we were told we couldn't pay cash, but in the end I saw some people paying cash.

Pizza looks good but it's not good and you might think it's frozen pizza

The dishes are not refined... Broccoli prawn risotto is just rice, with frozen shrimp without broccoli. I don't recommend going there, it's a shame because the terrace is beautiful.

Service seemed a bit bored when ordering and didn't seem to like eye contact all that much, many extra requests were accepted when ordering, unfortunately my request for Parma ham on my pizza wasn't received, pizzas were still very tasty and at a fair price . We sat outside in the courtyard, where Italian music was playing which was a bit too loud for my taste, otherwise the courtyard is actually very nice, the huge parasols protect you from the sun, but it is also very stuffy underneath and not for sun lovers quite optimal. But all in all I would definitely come back.

What a shame! We have been to this pizzeria on Rathausgasse very often. The food was always tasty. Yesterday we were back in the beautiful courtyard and were looking forward to a good meal. Then it was served: tomato and mozzarella salad and pasta with chanterelles in cream sauce and a mixed salad. Tomato and mozzarella were carelessly prepared. The mixed salad partly consisted of wilted and black lettuce, the cucumber was rotten. The pasta was swimming in a tomato cream sauce with canned chanterelles in the chanterelle season. What was offered here was unbearable. Advertising on la Piazza’s homepage: "When preparing our dishes, we attach great importance to quality and freshness." The cook misunderstood something. No longer recommended! A pity!!!

I had the lasagna. This existed. basically just cheese and egg with sauce. Then I just had a diarrhea the whole evening. The pizza, however, was really great.

We were a bit skeptical because of the different reviews but I have to say, we were thrilled. The food was delicious and even though it was very busy, we didn't have to wait long. The waiter accidentally brought us the wrong food, misunderstanding when ordering. We kept it anyway because it looked and was very tasty. As compensation there was half a liter of wine and 2 schnapps, what more could you want. I can highly recommend the Lasagna Siciliana. Price-performance is unbeatable. A clear recommendation from us.

Auf der Karte wurde damit geworben, das der Teig selbstgemacht ist und mit liebe. Was wir bekommen war eine Tiefkühltruhe Pizza. Schrecklich. Das hat den Kellner nicht interessiert. Die Gnocchi in Tomatensoße, wie soll ich es beschreiben? Ohne jemanden nahe treten zu wollen? Die Tomatensoße war einfach nur Tomaten Mark mit etwas Wasser verdünnt, diese schreckliche Soße war außerdem sauer und gar nicht gewürzt. Aber was hätte man da würzen können? Die Gnocchi waren dermaßen schmierig sowas habe ich noch nie erlebt. Wer dahin geht um einen Salat zu essen, den man meint sicher beim Salat kann man nichts falsch machen, besucht vorher die Toilette und schau direkt nach links. Nahe den Toiletten ist die Küche u d die Eimer mit der fertigen Soße stehen alle auf diesem fettigen Boden der Küche rum. Für uns steht das Fazit, nie, nie wieder La Piazza Freiburg

The menu advertises that the pizza dough is homemade, pizza was frozen. Tomato sauce looks and tastes different. Canned tomatoes diluted with water. Parmesan cheese was probably gone or the finished bag wasn't opened yet, otherwise we can't explain why there wasn't any with the pasta. In any case we will never come back. My conclusion ORIBILUS!!!!!

Wir waren Ende Februar da. Also so eine kleine Pizza (Größe Dr. Oetker Pizza) hatte ich bei einem Italiener noch nie. Geschmacklich ging es so. Ich habe dann noch einen Teller Spagetti (auch sehr flach gewürzt) gegessen dann war ich satt. Tische stehen extrem eng, als wir gehen wollte. Musste unser Nachbartisch aufstehen damit wir durch kamen. Nicht zu empfehlen.

When I was there, the pizzas we ordered arrived burnt. Another pizza would be completely forgotten and the waitress knowingly claimed that no more pizza had been ordered. This pizza was still baked, but it was very oily/greasy. I wouldn't recommend it and I would prefer to give this restaurant 0 stars. However, that doesn't work.

Hello, After I ordered a Pizza Fungi to take away here 2 years ago and was very disappointed with the pizza, I have already given the pizzeria a bad review. The wording at the time: “Pizza was very, very small and not particularly tasty but expensive”. Now, after 2 years, I received a lawyer's letter from the pizzeria and have therefore deleted the old review and am writing a detailed review this time. The pizza dough was either frozen dough or another ready-made product. You could tell by the shape and especially by the underbody. In addition, shriveled old mushrooms were placed on the pizza. Overall it wasn't disgusting but it just didn't taste good either. It was also relatively expensive for a frozen dough with little topping. It's more worthwhile to buy a frozen pizza at the train station for €5 and bake it yourself in the oven at home. I hope this review is detailed enough and I hope that it won't be claimed again that with probably several hundred customers a week you won't be able to remember me.

The service took a long time; people prefer to sort things around rather than bring the card or invoice. The food was mediocre, you could do better yourself. At some point the parasols were simply raised and some guests involuntarily sat in the sun. Absolutely not recommended!

I won a voucher here through a competition and was very positively surprised, as the reviews are very mixed. The food (especially the noodles) was very tasty and very well priced. The tablecloths on the tables, which unfortunately can no longer be found in restaurants everywhere, are also very impressive and create a very pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely come here again and eat the tagliatelle as salmone :)

Hier stimmt das Preis-Leitungsverhältnis. Insgesamt kam die Pizza (bei gut 3/4 gefülltem Restaurant) auch schnell, so dass ich gerne wiederkomme.

Wir waren heute Abend hier essen . Platzt war zum Glück aber sehr laut und eng Tisch an Tisch . Service nett und schnell. Essen kommt auch schnell an Tisch . Wir hatten 2x Pizza . Wir hätten uns gute Italiener Pizza 🍕 gewünscht, bekommen eher eine TK Pizza , wenig Belag und viel zu viel Käse . Siehe Bild. Mein Partner war vor ca 4 / 5 Jahren zu Letzt hier , da war die Pizza wohl meega gut . Für uns leider sehr erstaunt heute Abend. Einziger Plus Punkt , der Preis ist okay, im Sommer ein schönen Innenhof.

Das Ambiente ist echt authentisch italienisch, der Service super schnell und sehr freundlich. Das Essen ist bei unserem Besuch leider nicht besser als eine TK Pizza gewesen, ehrlich gesagt etwas schlechter, da der Käse mies war. Früher gab es hier richtig gute Pizza, aktuell (2024/1) sind die Pizzen leider nur einen Stern wert.
