La Pampa in Mönchengladbach

I had reserved a table for 7 p.m. yesterday. Initially, the manager made us stand at the entrance for 10 minutes. Later, he returned and took us to a private room, away from the other guests. Then we had to wait another 45 minutes until a waiter came to take our order. Meanwhile, other guests (who arrived after us) had already received their appetizers. We left without eating anything.

Again and again...friendly service and delicious food...

The food was okay but nothing special. Getting a portion of fries on a separate plate for that price didn't do the ambiance any favors. The service was slow and unfriendly. Not a great evening for us or our business clients.

Not really recommended. It was very dark inside. Unfortunately, the service was very poor. The food was also bad. At a steakhouse, I ordered medium and got it almost well done. They tried to correct it, but it ended up being almost rare. The steak was unevenly cooked. Otherwise, nothing special. It tasted like it came out of a can or a packet. No fresh mushrooms. We won't be back. It was the first and last time.

This was our second time here, and the food was good. The furniture needs a complete overhaul. The table we sat at had bare wood edges without any varnish, so we had to be careful not to hurt ourselves with the fine wood splinters.

Disappointing Visit Despite Previously Good Experiences My husband and I dined at the La Pampa restaurant on June 1, 2025 – unfortunately, the outcome was very disappointing. The evening began harmlessly: Although my husband initially received the wrong dish, the mistake was partially corrected by at least adding the missing peppercorn sauce. So far, no drama. After the meal, we asked for the bill of €84.30. My husband paid with two €50 bills and politely said, "€85, please" – which would have meant a tip of €0.70. The evening then escalated in a way we'd never experienced before: The waiter, an older gentleman with gray hair, asked us loudly and clearly – three times: "Are you kidding me?" This happened in front of a packed restaurant, in full view of all the guests. We were completely stunned and didn't know how to react at the time. The waiter silently threw the €15 change at us, then fished out the 70 cents in change from his pocket and simply said, "And you can take that with you." Then he disappeared – without a thank you, without a goodbye. We've been guests at this restaurant on and off for years – but after this disrespectful and completely inappropriate behavior, we won't be returning. This is simply not how you treat paying guests. The lovely evening we had planned was completely ruined. Conclusion: The food was fine, but the way they treated guests – especially the disrespectful tone, the audacity, and the public humiliation – is unacceptable. It's a shame, because we were actually regulars. But this kind of behavior ruins any good memories.

Typical Argentinian steakhouse. That means it specializes in steaks. This was 240g and ordered medium and that's how it turned out: ou point! Excellent and an open Tinto. Very rustic atmosphere and first class service. First class and therefore justifiably expensive. Been there again. If you don't have time or are stressed, stay at home. Reservation is highly recommended, even for 1 person. The best steak house in Mönchengladbach and the surrounding area including Düsseldorf and Cologne. If you don't have any money, go to the kebab Turkish restaurant. The prices can certainly be increased. Vegans and left-green scumbags, please stay at home. ...and one more thing: Show respect to the staff! Argentinians are sober people, with senior or senioritta titles. And you're really lucky with the service.

We were quite disappointed with the value for money! Our boys wanted to treat their mother to a special meal for Mother's Day, so they reserved a table at La Pampa. We arrived on time and were escorted to our reserved table. We were promptly handed the menus; our drink preferences weren't even asked for. This happened about 10 minutes later, after which the drinks were also delivered very promptly. Ordering was also very easy, and the server was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't even come close to meeting our expectations. Of the three sirloin steaks we ordered, two were very tough, and the gourmet filet was still very raw inside. The pepper sauce that came with it didn't suit our taste, and the lobster sauce wasn't a hit either; I've enjoyed better ones. Another disappointment was that the salad was served with the main course; it somewhat spoiled the experience. Anyone who plays in the top league of pricing should also deliver correspondingly good products; it didn't work out for us this time!

Since we didn't have a reservation, we got a small table near the toilets, even though the restaurant was far from full. Since there was no lamp above our table, it was difficult to read the menu. The service was careless, everything was put on the table without a word. The steak we ordered was lying alone on a wooden board, side dishes had to be ordered separately and were completely overpriced (as were the drinks, by the way). However, the steak was tender and very tasty.

We visited the restaurant in a group of five hoping for a relaxing evening with good food. Unfortunately, the whole thing turned into a series of unexpected “surprises.” The sirloin steaks that we were all looking forward to were not cooked to the desired level for several of us - despite clear orders. The main courses came so staggered that we ate more or less individually, which made the evening quite uncoordinated. An insert was simply forgotten and not submitted later - there was no apology or even an offer to make up for the mistake. The staff tried hard, but seemed overwhelmed and unfortunately couldn't fix the errors. But the worst came after dinner: I had to struggle with severe gastrointestinal problems that same evening, and the rest of the group also had to struggle with similar symptoms. A “digestive odyssey” of a special format that accompanied us until the next day. When it comes to price-performance, you have to ask yourself: Anyone who pays for such an experience is probably expecting more than just an expensive reminder of culinary uncertainty. Conclusion: Unfortunately, the friendly service could not save the disappointing overall impression. If you value quality and a pleasant culinary experience, you should steer clear here.

We were guests in a group of five and ordered sirloin steaks - unfortunately very few dishes were cooked to the desired level. It was positive that the staff tried to make improvements. However, we had to eat more or less one after the other because the dishes came at a very different time. Side dishes were sometimes forgotten or only served upon request. The crowning finale was the “fast Otto”, which all participants were able to share the next day. Conclusion: If you're willing to pay good money but don't value enjoyment or a stable digestive system, you've come to the right place. For everyone else: better move on.

We went to this top steakhouse for lunch with the family. It's a five-minute walk from Minto, parking garages are a stone's throw away, and there are a few parking spaces in front of them. The restaurant is very rustically furnished with lots of wood; we found the ambience very suitable for an Argentinian steakhouse. The meat was excellently prepared, grilled on charcoal, and the quality of the meat was great. The selection of meat and fish dishes was great. The service was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back.

Perfection in every way! La Pampa has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, and for good reason! The steak here is simply incredible - one of the best I've ever tasted, second only to Kobe beef. But not only the steak, the fish dishes are also first class. The service is friendly and professional, the food is of the highest quality, and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The atmosphere is authentic and very cozy, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Honestly there is nothing negative to say about this restaurant. Everything is just perfect! I highly recommend it!

Very unfriendly staff, within 45 minutes we had eaten our starter + main course, for more than €400.- and then expected a big tip from us, after we did not give it, something was said behind our backs.

In the photo the whole dish is still there, the side dish was served separately as well as the sauce. The food was very tasty. My son had a turkey skewer that was also very tender and tasty. My beef fillet was nice and medium but we didn't ask how we would like it. Our first impression is very good and we will definitely come back again!

This is definitely better! If you first have to wait a while for the menu to be able to order drinks and then this takes another good 20 minutes and then you have to wait another 20 minutes for the starters, you might think that the service couldn't get any worse - you're wrong. We had to wait over 2 hours for two dishes, a side dish was missing and another side dish was served incorrectly. Since it was already shortly before the end of opening hours, this was accepted in order to avoid further waiting times. The food is really tasty, but if you have waited hungry for your food for over two hours, you can no longer enjoy it. Unfortunately, at 10:40 p.m. it was too late for dessert. The organization and service definitely need to be worked on. It can't be that guests who arrived half an hour later, including the starter, main course and dessert, could have finished before us. Even guests who had sat down at the table just a few minutes before us were served all the courses well before us and were long finished by the time we received the main course. A real shame and also a disappointment.

For mini mushroom heads from a can/jar with a little sauce €10? No control over the order of customers - customers who came 5 minutes after us already had drinks and the appetizer before we could order our drinks. French fries were totally over salted - I had to return them... they still tried to charge me. NEVER AGAIN

We had a table today Reserved. At the beginning everything was normal, the restaurant wasn't particularly full but not empty either. The starter came in a reasonable time. Afterwards we were completely hidden from the action as a table. After about 1 hour the table was cleared of the appetizer plates. (We thought it couldn't take much longer) We thought wrong. After we asked the waiter how long it would take, he said 5 more minutes. All the tables around us that had arrived after us had already finished eating and some had already left. After 10 minutes we asked again how long it would take... Again it was 5 minutes. Our mood has reached a low point. After 90 minutes the food came. The waiting time was unacceptable. Everyone's food was okay except for mine. Unfortunately I had an end piece of beef fillet where the tendons were not properly cut away. So I paid €40 for 300g of beef fillet, which was stringy. We both showed and addressed our dissatisfaction. An espresso on the house might have added some bonus points, but unfortunately the waiter didn't give any insight, only excuses. My husband even left a few euros as a courtesy tip. It's a real shame, but service and customer orientation work differently. The bill was €300 We definitely won't come again.

Everything perfect! The meat at the perfect point, great taste, perfectly seasoned and the side dishes not too little/not too much so that half of it remains. The starters and desserts are incredibly good. The service was perfect. We regularly checked whether the customers made eye contact, otherwise they continued without saying a word so that no conversations were disturbed, for example. The waiting time for the dishes was good, the distance to the main course was well coordinated. We were absolutely thrilled and will definitely come back. I haven't eaten out so well in a long time.

La Pampa is one of our favorite restaurants & for us the best address among the steakhouses in Mönchengladbach. The food impresses us every time with its quality and taste, whether it's meat dishes, salmon with lime sauce, spicy garlic papas bravas or the creamy tomato soup - everything is served in generous portions and tastes great. At the start there is always free bread with 3 dips. The rustic, rustic furnishings and the many small, separated seating areas are cozy. Today we tried the warm artichokes and the beetroot carpaccio with feta and onions as starters - also very successful. We would love to come back and look forward to our next visit with such great hosts! With that in mind: see you soon ☺️ & keep it up!

Great authentic Argentinian restaurant 👌 you don't think too much of it when you look at it from the outside but once inside, it's quite big, with rustic ambience. It was busy when we went for dinner, on a Monday night and a good thing we reserved. Service was not too fast, but friendly overall. The food was tasty, especially the spicy cheesy mushrooms and the Argentinian rump steak with a side of creamy garlicy spinach 😋 from the desserts I would recommend the creme brule.

45-year-old traditional restaurant in Mönchengladbach with very good, down-to-earth Argentinian-Spanish cuisine. The steak was very good, the mixed salad was normal, the papa asada and the fries were great. Price also good and the service was very nice and attentive! We really recommend taking a detour here! But a request to the owner: stick to the warm light and don't change everything to cool LEDs so that your ambience remains cozy!

We waited forever, we thought we had been forgotten. Many things were forgotten that were ordered or orders were simply delivered incorrectly. Anyone who has been further than Mönchengladbach knows that this restaurant is nothing special. You could only have laughed at the bill when you looked at the service and the food.

Been there for the second time and we won't be coming back. First of all, like the first visit, we find the boss in particular to be very rude. No hello and no goodbye and seems annoyed with the simplest questions, which was noticeable the first time. The beef and pork are very tasty. But be careful, there are people who don't like it too raw and so my father-in-law's skewer was completely raw towards the end. We pointed this out to the waiter, he apologized but nothing came from the boss later. The fries are soggy and no salad? Well, not for the money anymore.

The service, however, was in a class of its own! I have rarely experienced something like that! We had no wish left unfulfilled. This has become very rare today! Thank you for a wonderful evening! I have often read reviews about this shop, I have to say the food there is worth every cent!!!! The waiters are friendly and accommodating, it's interesting how people pay attention to whether the table is disinfected instead of wearing the mask properly on their face. Me and my family were very satisfied and have no complaints.

Had a great meal in this steak restaurant. We went here for the steaks and we went home completely satisfied. After the excellent starters, carpaccio, melon with delicious serrano ham and tomato soup, the main courses. I had a delicious roast beef in cognac pepper sauce, deliciously prepared. My fellow guests had sirloin steak and fillet steak. These were also excellent. The choice of attachment is also extensive.
