Total disaster!!! Beef fillet 300g ordered 2 times Fried potatoes 2 times Vegetable plate 1 time The meat arrived cold A plate was a joke and not a fillet of beef over half full of tendon and the piece itself looked fat and strangely cut off... something like that shouldn't even leave the kitchen!!! When I complained that the piece wasn't a fillet of beef and given the price, please serve something reasonable, the answer was we'd bring a new one... after 20 minutes the new piece arrived, clean and hot, but the fried potatoes had been cold for a long time and were not exchanged but left standing. . The fried potatoes were full of oil and not even fried properly!!! The vegetables were 80% carrots 10% broccoli 10% cauliflower! The service itself is ok, the waiters can't help it if mistakes happen in the kitchen Were served quickly and top notch The ambience was the best in this shop with a heater outside although the table was wobbling but with a few beer mats under it everything fits and it was very pleasant to sit outside... It's sad that you can't even order reasonable food for such prices and have a delicious warm meal together The waiter was young and friendly and wanted to give us something on the house as an apology, but that wasn't our concern - it should be passed on to the kitchen, something like that shouldn't happen!

I was really impressed by the steakhouse! The meat is cooked perfectly and is very tasty. The side dishes taste extremely good and are varied, there is certainly something for everyone. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Particularly worthy of mention is the excellent service - extremely friendly, courteous and attentive. Overall, you can tell how much love and effort goes into the place! I would love to come back and recommend the steakhouse to everyone!

My visit to the steakhouse was a pleasure for all the senses! The atmosphere was pleasant, with dim lighting and a cozy decor that was perfect for a relaxed dinner. The service was attentive and friendly - our waiter was always there without being intrusive. A steakhouse that you should definitely visit if you are a meat lover. Whether for a romantic dinner or a meeting with friends - every visit here becomes a special experience.

Beautiful Rib Eye cooked to perfection. Good service and good atmosphere. Only slight negative was arrival. We had a booking for 7.30pm and a large number of people were all waiting with no organisation to get in for what seemed like a 1 in 1 out regardless of reservation.. Almost left before we were ushered to table

Booked a week in advance. Got there to a mob outside, no sense of order, no staff whatsoever, nobody checking who had a reservation. Place looked almost full inside, but with probably 50 people jostling outside there was no chance. Very disappointed as we researched and chose this place in advance. Everyone outside that we spoke to allegedly had bookings too. It was like mob rule.

Shit tent, reserve in time and there is no room. Don't spend any money on it

We arrived and were told that even with a reservation we would have to wait. This was the same for 10s of other customer. When we were finally seated I ordered the chicken and pork skewers with a baked potato. First I got a rack of ribs and then a beef skewer with salad. When a chicken skewer (still not correct) finally came out it was raw and couldn’t be eaten. There was no offer to take any drinks or other items off the bill. Overall a disappointing visit and I can’t recommend this place.

The taste of the food (schnitzel with fries) was okay, but not appropriate for the price at almost €22.

Well, everything is very stressful there. The rump steak 400 grams ordered and 500 grams was absolutely not worth the money. A fillet steak costs almost €60, there are better shops there. Price performance not given unfortunately.

If you care about your money, just let it be. Absolutely outrageous what you get for your money. Finished products, whether sauces or side dishes. Fresh vegetables probably mean opening the can of carrots and defrosting the fresh broccoli. Someone has to explain to me how you manage to get the fillet medium rare and still dry and cold to the table. Best regards stop kidding people.

The food was average at best. Not quite sure why all the 5 star reviews. Burgers are 20 euros and they charge 0.90 euros for ketchup for the fries and 0.90 for mayo for the burger. I dislike places that nickel and dime you when you pay so much already. Not black angus beef if according to US standards.

They pretend they are a steak house but it’s not a steak house at all…. First of all the service was long about 1h30 waiting for our steak. We took filet mignon and rib eye and the meat was not that good. Also the pepper sauce taste nothing. I am pretty sure it’s a good restaurant for hamburger and fries but not for steak….

We were there with a group of 6 people. The drinks were good which isn't difficult. The food was a FLOP!!!! The burger bread was cold and tasteless! The patties were just MINI and a disgrace for the price. I definitely don't recommend the store, there are suppliers around who are fairer than this store.

Last Saturday we planned to visit the Black Angus XL restaurant. We had reserved a table for 5 people at 7:30 p.m. and confirmed the reservation shortly before upon request. At 7:30 p.m. sharp we were in front of the restaurant and waited to be let in. After asking several times, we were told that our table was not yet free. After about 20 minutes of waiting outside at about 5°C, we asked again and were told that the table was still occupied. At around 8 p.m. the staff let us into the awning and sat us at a table that would have been free since 7:45 p.m. 5 minutes later we were asked by another waiter to sit at the front table in the entrance area of ​​the tent because our table was needed elsewhere. Since they were the worst seats in the entire restaurant, in the entrance area, with drafts and passing traffic and the waiter wouldn't engage in any discussion, we decided to leave the restaurant. We looked for a restaurant where you felt valued as a guest. Black Angus XL Restaurant appears to be overwhelmed with your reservation scheduling and is taking the problem out on their guests. As a guest you didn't feel valued and you had the feeling that the staff didn't really care what the guests thought of the service. Our conclusion: We cannot recommend this restaurant.

Located directly on the Rhine and in Cologne's old town. The reviews were great so we went. The service was very friendly and the food came quite quickly. Quality was okay but not what I was hoping for. In the end you can say that the steak was well fried, the fries were also okay and the price is not only for the food but also a little adapted to the location and the tourists. We sat on the terrace and it is quite narrow. 2 or 3 tables less would be okay here. But when a lot of tourists go in, it's clear that not an inch is wasted. You can see in the pictures the rump steak with fries and a very tasty tiramisu.

I have no idea where the good reviews come from. Food below average, poor ambience and service that is far too hectic. We were pressured to order, then the food came very quickly but poorly prepared. All at a price that suggests significantly better quality and performance. That was definitely our last visit there.

TOURIST TRAP, the food was absolutely substandard, only the service was nice. The food was frozen and ready made, it was very subpar. Definitely don't go there.

I still had the invoice at hand, so my rating is online again. No wonder that the steakhouse has almost exclusively positive reviews. Apparently anything below 4 stars on Google is warned off by a lawyer. You should avoid the restaurant. =Original review= Too expensive for what is offered. Spare ribs were rather dry and the BBQ sauce was standard. Not bad, but for 35 euros the dish just doesn't fit. No extras, no dips, no bowls. Just enough ribs with a few fries and slathered in BBQ sauce. Colleague had rump steak. The tendon in the flesh was impressive. Again, not bad, but for the price. Simply not delivered. I would go there again. A clear no. There is better at cheaper prices.

One of those places that initially I thought 'bit pricey' but I think is probably the best steak I have ever had. Melt in the mouth, just perfect.

Unfortunately that was just mediocre. First of all: it tasted good! The starters (carpaccio and prawns) were tasty and still reasonably priced. The main course (300g fillet) was quite good, the cooking level was right, the taste was okay. However, the price-performance ratio was not right. 56 euros for an Argentinian steak without side dishes of decent but not very good quality is not appropriate. The side dishes we ordered (frozen rösti and Tetra Bernaise) were weak and too expensive. The ambience is rather loud, plain and touristy (not surprising given the location). The obviously fake reviews on another well-known review portal seem rather embarrassing. All first-time reviewers with 5 stars, some of the text modules not filled out and effusive praise. Please stop such nonsense! That just makes you unlikable. Unfortunately overall there is no great risk of repetition.

I wanted the meat (rump steak) well done, but unfortunately it got pretty bloody. My fries were also swimming in blood. I gave the meat back to the waiter to have it cooked through again, but it came back almost exactly as before. I was disappointed and I think it can't be that you get such an undercooked piece of meat if you wanted it otherwise. I assume that as a customer I get what I want and I have to pay for it. The total was also slightly higher than what was listed on the menu. I won't go there again anytime soon...because I was disappointed.

Good food at fair prices. Some of the fillet was the wrong degree of doneness, but was kindly put back on the grill. Very nice team and a very good experience all around.

Ordered Jägerschnitzel. I got cold schnitzel with soft and edible fries. The sauce was also completely missing! The food was allowed to go straight into the bin. I didn't get my money back or anything so service is just as bad!

Worst meal ever. We were so disappointed! The meat tasted sour and not only at our table, poorly done, everything was very tasteless. Unfortunately the staff was very unprofessional. In a word- tourist trap. The place has a very difficult atmosphere… We left too much money there. As a starter, mushrooms with Maggie??? And dry garlic baguette… over 120€ for 2 people and super bad food… I don't know. It's a shame, it could be so beautiful.

Food was excellent, from the main courses to side dishes to dessert and cappuccino! The service was quick and very nice. Price/performance of the main course (tomahawk) was reasonable. The side dishes are a bit expensive. The wines adequate. We will come again.

We dined here twice while in Cologne. Located in the old town near the river. The steak was excellent and perfectly cooked to order. The chicken skewers were very good as were the ribs. The service was good and friendly. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. We would certainly visit again when next in Cologne.

Service and ambience were ok. We ordered a rump steak, unfortunately the quality of the meat was unsatisfactory. When I cut the meat, the meat crumbled. For 300g and 70€ I definitely expect something better quality.

We eat there more often throughout the year. Always friendly staff and the food is always great. Unfortunately there is no toilet for wheelchair users, but there is a public toilet opposite that is wheelchair accessible.

Four of us including a small dog had pre-booked a table for 6 p.m. on a Tuesday. We had a free choice of tables and sat outside on the terrace (directly at the transition to the indoor area). After we were seated, we had to ask to be served after 20 minutes. The floor was dirty with leftover food and the dog couldn't calm down at all. The waitress had to be asked several times to take additional drink orders. I ordered a grill plate. A piece of chicken, pork and beef. Well grilled but of sufficient quality, in far too small a quantity. The baked potato was glassy. The food of the fellow guests, 2x ribs and cheeseburgers were OK. It's a shame, as a resident of the old town I went to the old town based on the good faith of the reviews. But again just tourist nonsense. Very sad!

The prices for the steaks are high, but the steak is really ultra good. I had grilled vegetables, friendly service and a small Kölsch: what more could you want?

Quite nice but very unfriendly staff. Feeling good there is virtually impossible, the only bonus point was the nice look of the restaurant, but beauty isn't everything and unfortunately that was proven to me there. When I think back on this horrible experience, I feel shocked and would like to turn back time. If there are time machines in the future, I will do that too. I still suffer from internal pain to this day.
