La Madera in Hamburg

Outrageous! We had a reservation for 10 people, but only 8 showed up because 2 people got sick. Despite that, we still had to pay for 10. Absolutely unacceptable. I've never experienced anything like it in any other establishment. How can you pay for services you didn't use? I strongly advise everyone against eating here.

We celebrated our Christmas party at La Madera yesterday. The "all-you-can-eat tapas" theme was a hit with everyone and highly recommended. Top quality and very friendly service. Zoran and his wife Maria create such a welcoming, family atmosphere that everyone immediately feels at ease. Thank you so much 🙏 for a wonderful evening.

We had four portions of kale with smoked pork loin, cooked sausage, and pork cheek, as well as roasted potatoes, for €24.90 each. It was very tasty, and you could order as much as you wanted... Very good, attentive service, pleasant atmosphere.

A selection of fresh dishes at reasonable prices, the service is extremely friendly and always available. A visit is definitely worthwhile, we will certainly be back. The quality of the products leaves nothing to be desired, the food arrives piping hot.

If this place were closer to me, I would visit it more often. The birthday buffet was very, very good. The service was very attentive until the end, which made the hostess very relaxed. We always enjoy going to La Madera because we find the food and service to be of very high quality. The prices are reasonable in line with the quality and service. I really can't say anything negative about the noise level. Sure, it can get a bit noisy when it's busy, but that would probably be the case in any other restaurant as well. In my opinion, you can't fault the restaurant for the parking situation either; parking is simply limited in Hamburg. However, we've always managed to find a spot nearby when the restaurant's parking lot was full. I can highly recommend La Madera, and we've never been disappointed.

I had a large celebration with colleagues - great service and delicious food - definitely worth the price.

We were looking forward to meeting up with our colleagues at La Madera, but it almost didn't happen because of the parking situation. It was completely full! We had to park two streets away. (Even though the parking lot isn't actually that small). It seems several parties were celebrating that day, which is why the restaurant was absolutely packed. There were countless groups, each physically separated, but all going to the same buffet. It was incredibly crowded and cramped. Not to mention the pushing and shoving. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't great either. Some of the fish was unbelievably dry, the spinach was overcooked, and the scrambled eggs were slimy and unseasoned. We sat with our colleagues right in the buffet area. The noise was deafening, and on top of that, there was constant, incredibly annoying music playing. The waiters and servers couldn't keep up. So we waited ages for various orders, or didn't get them at all. Friendly interaction or conversation was impossible. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't great either. La Madera, you haven't done yourselves any favors with that.

We attended a wedding reception at La Madera. Everything was perfect from beginning to end: the food was delicious and the service excellent. Anyone celebrating here can look forward to a fantastic event.

We've always enjoyed coming here. But the last few times, we've been disappointed time and time again. Today's lunch menu was so small, I had to eat a double portion to feel full. What a shame

I was invited to brunch at work. I was pleased with the quality of the food and the service.

We were there in a group of seven and had the BBQ buffet. I've rarely eaten such good steaks and ribs. It was incredibly delicious, whether it was the side dishes or the pork or beef ribs, everything was delicious and of excellent quality. The only criticism, and it's all the more critical given how delicious the food was, was that the waiters took a relatively long time to bring the next steak or rib to the table. 😅 Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good meat.

A truly fantastic experience at La Madera. The team on Wednesday was excellent. After a work event/team-building session for five people, it was the perfect meal to round off the evening.

Very good service, delicious food We made a spontaneous reservation for the same day, which wasn't a problem at all. The waiters and waitresses were all very quick and extremely friendly. The food was also served promptly. The kids loved the hamburgers and ate them up with great gusto. The fried potatoes served with them were good, but the coleslaw could be improved. The steak was also very tasty, but the sauce was a bit oversalted. While it goes well with the beer, it was still too salty. Despite all of this, we had a wonderful time thanks to the friendly and good service.

We ate there today and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was incredibly delicious, not your average fare, but really good! The ribs were tender, meaty, and falling right off the bone, and the prawns were a dream with garlic and chili, truly yummy 🤤. And the dessert selection was a dream, with a bit of everything. We'll be back!

Simply fantastic! We celebrated there after our registry office ceremony, and it was simply perfect. The waiters were incredibly sweet, friendly, and funny. We truly had everything we needed. I would recommend it to anyone.

Yes, I can highly recommend this place

The food is okay. The place is incredibly loud, the acoustics are borderline. It's a shame the ceiling and walls are suspended – but apparently not soundproof. Conversation is impossible without shouting; even the waitress had to ask several times because she couldn't understand anything. The staff is well-staffed and attentive, but they struggle with mobile devices because the dishes don't have numbers. "Oh, I have to look under the fish for the calamari..." That was almost comedy.

We were there again after a long time. It was supposed to be a birthday dinner. First, I asked for an ashtray... I got it myself, no problem. Then the wrong food arrived. It can happen, no problem. I just ate a little later than the others. Then we ordered an ice cream for my mother and two espressos. The espresso came, but unfortunately, the ice cream didn't. Now I wanted to pay and pointed out that the ice cream wouldn't be charged. As someone paying in cash, I was simply quoted a price that I was supposed to accept. So I asked for the bill to check the correct price. That seemed to be a big problem, because it took quite a while before I got it. It was five euros more than the original price, which they couldn't explain to me at all. My suspicion: they're evading tax. So, people: demand proper receipts!!! Personally, I only eat out where I can pay by card and they give proper receipts. Anything else makes me feel uneasy.

After a long break, we visited La Madeira again. The renovation is truly successful: stylish, modern, and very pleasant – we give it 4 stars for the ambiance. The service was mixed. One time, we had a very friendly, attentive waiter; the next time, the staff was less engaged. Therefore, on average, 3 stars for service. The food was a mixed bag: • Scrambled eggs with chanterelles: We expected a classic, fluffy scrambled egg with mushrooms playing the main role. What we got was a dish dominated by other vegetables, the chanterelles were barely noticeable, and the scrambled egg wasn't very flavorful. Furthermore, it was only served "warm" – neither cold nor hot, but lukewarm. • Wiener Schnitzel: We expected the classic version with lemon. We got a variation with anchovies, which wasn't advertised and may surprise many guests. • Spare ribs: We were pleasantly surprised here – they were really delicious and well prepared. • Dessert: Unfortunately, the ice cream we ordered never arrived, which was a shame and spoiled the overall impression. All in all, a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and potential, but the cuisine and consistent service could be improved. Therefore, we give it 3 out of 5 stars overall – neutral, with room for improvement. "For the price level, the balance between quality, taste, and service is unfortunately not right for us."

The brunch buffet was extensive, though not top-notch. We asked about vegan options beforehand and were assured there would be plenty. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. There wasn't even a vegan salad dressing (note: we could have gone down to the salad buffet, which hadn't opened yet, to get olive oil). That was definitely disappointing. Nothing was clearly labeled as vegan. There wasn't even margarine as an alternative to butter. Unfortunately. The location is super appealing, the service very friendly. And what we'd like to highlight – we got as much coffee, tea, and hot chocolate as we wanted, and we didn't have to pay for each cup. There's a little room for improvement, but the location is really nice.

We were there for the first time today, at lunchtime. We received a very friendly welcome. The service was excellent, the food was fantastic. The meat was tender, everything was delicious. The location is like being on vacation, very beautiful. The value for money is excellent. We would be happy to come back and highly recommend it.

The staff is super friendly, it was fun to see that there are still people who enjoy their job, or at least make an effort to make guests feel comfortable.

Delicious veal cheeks, the glazed roots were too al dente for my liking, and the potato gratin was a bit bland. Reasonably priced. The house wine was quite good. Large outdoor area in the weather-protected winter garden. Attentive staff.

Very nice restaurant, great food and great service. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio for the food and drinks is not right. €5.30 for a 0.4 Cola is far too expensive, especially if you're eating with children who also like to have two drinks. It's a shame, we'd like to come back.

We had all-you-can-eat tapas, and the idea was good. The food, however, wasn't that great. The chicken wings, calamari, scampi, and so on were probably some kind of frozen food from a discount store. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was excellent.

So 4.0 stars is ridiculous. This restaurant truly fulfills all your needs. The food was incredibly delicious (we had tapas and spare ribs). The staff was super attentive and quick, and the ambiance was truly inviting. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back very soon. 5 stars!!!

La Madera ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was just too hungry. I completely forgot to take a photo of the veal schnitzel, which says it all. The food was outstanding, the meat was super tender, the side dishes were spot on, and the two cherry coconut cocktails alone are worth the visit. Sweet and creamy with a coconut kick, simply perfect. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was really cozy, modern and stylish. I felt very comfortable. I'll definitely be back, and next time I promise there will be a picture of the food.

It's a nice place to sit, and the people are very friendly. I found the food to be of rather poor quality and overpriced.

First things first: The homemade spare ribs from the lunch menu (€14.90) were fantastic—and that's ultimately the most important thing. The meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone. The fries, on the other hand, were nothing special. I was also a bit surprised that the spare ribs didn't at least come with a wet wipe in case you wanted to get your hands on a rib. Although it was barely busy at my time (12:30 p.m. on a Friday), I had to wait quite a long time (over 10 minutes) to place my order. I also didn't see any bike racks, although there were at least places to lock bikes relatively close and within sight (see photos). Music, at least from where I was sitting, was so faint that it might as well have been turned off. Mixed with the light noise of the main road, it became more of a noise. I would also have appreciated homemade lemonades as an alternative to Fanta, Sprite, and the like. I did, however, really like the airy winter garden, which was very pleasant on such a mild summer day. The weekly changing lunch specials (three dishes each, see photo) are also a nice touch.

I had Wiener Schnitzel, which was absolutely delicious! Everything else was great too, and the service was funny and friendly.

Unfortunately, it was incredibly loud there. The service staff was extremely stressed and at times overwhelmed. We took advantage of the all-you-can-eat tapas offer. Unfortunately, it always took a while for the food to arrive and also for the table to be cleared and we could order again. The appetizer arrived right before the first round, and because the table was so small, we had to place it on a piece of furniture next to us. Some of the portions were almost too large, but also very tasty! The selection of tapas included in the offer was sufficient.

Beautiful steakhouse with plenty of seating. Drinks were well chilled and perfectly mixed. The house burger with potato slices and the tapas were delicious, but unfortunately, both dishes were only lukewarm when served. Some of the staff were very short-tempered, probably a bit stressed due to the big birthday party upstairs.

A truly above-average restaurant. I was invited to a birthday brunch. I've rarely seen such a selection, including hot dishes. Only high-quality food, regularly replenished. The service is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is cozy and well-kept. Outside, the restaurant has a beautifully decorated "winter" garden. On the upper floor, where the dining rooms and the buffet are located, there is a large covered roof terrace for smokers.

It's a very nice restaurant, where the service is very friendly and attentive. The drinks are on the high side, and the food was disappointing. The asparagus platter is edible, but it doesn't offer the right value for money. The Wiener Schnitzel was excellent, and the breading was superb. You can skip the chicken, beef, and ham. The potatoes were very disappointing, as they were already sprouting.

We were back in Madeira after a long absence. The restaurant has a new roof over the terrace with plenty of tables. Despite the many tables, the seating is very comfortable and pleasant. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes and drinks, so there should be something for everyone. We had asparagus soup, rump steak, and asparagus with ham, as well as chocolate mousse. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. The dishes are made with fresh ingredients and are delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. We would be happy to come back.

Expensive, slow, and the food leaves a lot to be desired. €15 for four undercooked shrimp seems excessive. The worst experience we've had in a long time. From start to finish. We won't return, nor do I recommend it.

Yesterday we went to La Madera for brunch after a long time. In the last few years we have been there often for brunch, but also to eat á la carte. We were very disappointed with yesterday's brunch. Due to an additional event in the upper part of the restaurant, brunch was held on the ground floor - okay so far. At first glance, however, it was already apparent that the selection of dishes (this meant the variety of antipasti and cold dishes) was significantly limited. It started at 10 a.m. and the hot food was already kept warm in the food warmer. However, by the time we started at 10 a.m. the food wasn't even warm anymore, some of it was only lukewarm, which was a shame. Furthermore, the filter coffee (part of the brunch price) was very thin and looked like iced tea. A new pot was brought to us, but the problem was still there. Unfortunately we had to switch to other drinks. We've been to La Madera in the past, but we're used to something different and we were all very disappointed yesterday, especially since the price of 34.90 euros per person no longer corresponds to the price/performance ratio. We all felt like yesterday's brunch was simply done as a takeout business, but the focus was on the event upstairs. Unfortunately, that is a very, very unfortunate thing. Even if the location is great and the ambience is right, we will no longer have brunch at La Madera in the future.

Die Burger, die meine Freundin und ich hatten, waren mega, die Kartoffelstreifen aus frischen, gerösteten Kartoffeln super lecker und der La Madera Salat, den mein Freund hatte war ebenfalls zu seiner vollsten Zufriedenheit. Der Kellner war sehr sehr freundlich, aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein und hatte Spaß an seinem Job. Ich werde mit Sicherheit nicht das letzte Mal dort gewesen sein und kann mit voller Überzeugung eine 1+ geben

My wife and I have been here several times for tapas. Since we were always very satisfied, I celebrated my 70th birthday there with 18 people. We were there for brunch on Sunday. Everything was right. The food was great. The staff was friendly and the room was lovingly decorated. All guests were completely satisfied. We can only recommend La Madera.

Actually a nice restaurant. When placing a group, we were given a very unfavorable table. We always had to have several People get up when you are wanted to leave the place. Brunch for children between 12 and 15 years old is not recommended as hardly anything was eaten and you pay the full price. Drinks like water or cola etc. must be paid extra. The food was very good and varied. Unfortunately the service was overwhelmed this time. Otherwise a good restaurant if you is placed sensibly.

Sehr schlechter Service, arroganter Umgang mit Gästen!!! Wir kamen als Familie mit 2 kleinen Kindern und hatten im Vorfeld um den Tisch an der Kinderspielecke gebeten. Als wir kamen wurde uns ein Tisch im oberen Stockwerk zugewiesen, obwohl der begehrte Tisch noch frei war und mit derselben Personenzahl eingedeckt war! Kein Entgegenkommen von Seiten des Personals! Später haben wir dann gesehen, dass dort Leute mit 2 Hunden platziert waren! Unglaublich! Für solch Überheblichkeit werden wir nie wieder dorthin fahren.

Very tasty tapas. We were tired of tapas and were very satisfied. Nice and attentive service. Price performance was also good. The homemade sorbet was particularly delicious. There is a harmonious atmosphere and enough parking spaces in front of the store. We'll definitely be back.

Disappointing - we won't be coming back! 😔 We were regular guests, but this time we were very disappointed. Many items on the menu (e.g. Pata Negra, Serrano ham, beef medallion) were not available. Instead of Serrano ham, there was simple bacon from the salad bar. Vitello Tonnato only with turkey instead of veal. No more roast beef at the salad bar either. The raspberry sorbet wasn't as tasty either. Everything seemed like austerity measures. What a shame!

Tried the spare ribs offer today. 19.90€ all you can eat. Given the price, I didn't have high expectations. And lo and behold, when it's really tasty, you're even happier. The service was friendly and attentive. At the beginning we were asked whether we wanted to eat pork or beef ribs. As a side dish there were very tasty and crispy potato chips and a bowl of coleslaw. And if I'm honest, the first portion would have been enough. The second slide was only eaten because these ribs were so juicy and super tender. Price-performance ratio is unbeatable. We'll come back and test the next offers.

Unfortunately, the food at La Madera varies greatly in terms of portions. But everything tastes bomb! I have always been satisfied with the service so far. Everyone was very professional, attentive and personable. The only point where the restaurant is weak in my opinion is the ambience. Unfortunately, due to the large number of people in one room, the volume is correspondingly high. Sometimes my ears really fall off. However, I still really like the setup! In summary, I think La Madera is a restaurant that I would recommend again and again. It's simply worth a visit!

We had dinner there with a few stable guys and came with great anticipation. The shop was not well attended...there was still a group of women sitting in the restaurant and one or two other tables were occupied...as far as we could see on the ground floor. The drinks arrived 20 minutes after ordering and the food arrived another 20-25 minutes later. So far everything was within reason, but every now and then you asked yourself where the waiter was. We ordered - of course - the ALL YOU CAN EAT. We had to use our dirty plates constantly. Unfortunately, every subsequent order came with incorrect orders. Unfortunately, in keeping with the previous picture, we were never asked for drinks. After several orders and the table becoming increasingly full, something was only cleared away when requested. We didn't feel welcome, an evening like this depends on the service and it really wasn't worth 1 star that evening. It's a shame, because we were happy to come back because of the advertised ALL YOU CAN EAT, because it wasn't bad in general.

(complaining at a high level) The cucumber salad with the Wiener Schnitzel was delicious, but the style of schnitzel wasn't my thing. The schnitzel itself was really nicely breaded. Tried the La Madera Burger today, unfortunately it was so bad. The bun was dry and hard, hardly any sauce on the burger and no taste. The young waiter preferred to chat instead of asking if everything was OK. When I paid I asked the waiter about it but there was no response. Takes the burger off the menu. Don't know if I'll go there again.

We have always been quite happy with the restaurant. But our visit today, the first time in a while, was a complete disaster. We wanted to take advantage of the tapas offer on Sunday. As soon as we ordered our tapas from an older waiter, he kept coming to our table and persistently asking us to help ourselves to the salad bar. Our first order only came after 1 hour!!! But that's not even complete. When we told the older waiter that something was still missing, he just looked stupid and walked away without a word. After half an hour we pointed out to the waiter again that something was missing, which received the same reaction. It wasn't until we told him this for the third time in the presence of a second waitress that something happened. 15 minutes later the missing tapas arrived. The waiter then came back to the table and picked up the next round of tapas. This came after another 45 minutes!!! Again incomplete. Again we had to say that something was missing and again it took 30 minutes until we were told that the dishes we ordered were out. So we had to order new ones again, which were then served after 20 minutes. For dessert we ordered the almond cake because we had had it often in the past and found it very tasty. Again it took over 30 minutes (afterwards they told us that they had forgotten our order and only made it ready immediately when we asked, but didn't charge us). And it was a completely different cake than usual. Not in a positive way. In terms of taste, it was absolutely bad (it used to be a kind of almond tart with almonds on top, now it was a brown, tastelessly sweet block), was dry and seemed like an old, frozen cake. There was also vanilla ice cream, which was full of ice crystals and had already been thawed. All in all, the evening was an absolute disaster and really ruined the mood of the evening. I was very annoyed. I don't know if the staff changed while we weren't there, but it's never been this bad before.

Im La Madera Steakhouse habe ich meinen 80. Geburtstag in einer Runde von 23 Personen gefeiert. Es war in jeder Hinsicht hervorragend! Die Tischdekoration war geschmackvoll arrangiert und schuf eine einladende Atmosphäre. Alle Gäste waren begeistert von dem Essen, von der Vorspeise über die individuell ausgewählten Hauptgerichte bis hin zum Dessert. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam, dabei jedoch keineswegs aufdringlich. Sie erfüllten Sonderwünsche stets freundlich und prompt. Es gab keinen Anlass für Beanstandungen, auch die Abwicklung der Rechnungslegung verlief reibungslos und war fair. Kurz gesagt, es war ein rundum gelungener Tag!

Nie wieder!! All you can eat ist reine abzocke! Kein Entgegenkommen vom GF! Gut dass es noch andere Restaurants gibt ; ) haben erst nach knapp einer Stunde essen bekommen - nur 2 Personen von uns… die anderen beiden durften noch 20 min warten.. Nachschlag gab es nur 1 mal nach einer weiteren 3/4 Stunde.. echt ein Witz
