The pizza wasn't great, although it had plenty of toppings, but the octopus was definitely something for healthy teeth. Unfortunately, there wasn't a beef steak on the menu. I probably should have chosen the fish. The toilet could use some improvement. For 3 people - €160 Antipasti platter: okay, 3 tomato slices with mozzarella from Aldi weren't exactly convincing either. The mushrooms were great, the rest was okay. Olive oil on the table - great, but does it have to be in the plastic bottle from Metro? Not really. Salt and pepper shakers from Aldi: I can't think of anything else, I mean, these 99-cent items. But everyone gets a second chance. Use them.

We've been regulars for many years and love the Italian cuisine. For some time now, we've offered a daily specials menu with several starters, main courses, and desserts. The house specialties include fresh grilled fish, such as sea bream, and delicious meat dishes, such as Iberico cutlets, as well as seasonal pasta/pizza dishes, currently featuring fresh chanterelle mushrooms and pumpkin. The service is very friendly and attentive; the chef, Paolo, still serves the guests himself. We're happy to come back! Even in summer, the large beer garden under chestnut trees is a popular meeting place for those seeking Mediterranean indulgence.

Well, I don't know... Outside, plates soaked in the rain with used cutlery. Inside, tables were dirty, glasses not washed properly, with juice stains. Dusty with cobwebs. The food was actually okay. Rethink your restaurant concept...

Unfortunately, you can't give the food 0 stars. I ordered a pizza with mushrooms, salami, and ham, plus a special chili request. The pizza came with an Asian sweet/spicy sauce. I told the server that it wasn't chili. The server replied that he liked the pizza that way and that it didn't have any chili. If I had known beforehand that they didn't serve chili, I would have ordered something else.

We were there in a larger group—certainly quite suitable for that. The space was nice, but the decor seemed extravagant and out of date. The food was okay, and the service was good. I wouldn't make a special trip.

We were there today, and I have to say: never again. We ordered 3 pizzas, 2 small Cokes, 2 small Fantas, and a beer. All together, €46.90. The pizza wasn't good; we had Miranda, not Fanta, and the worst beer – only available here. If I had offered the bill, the waiter would have told me €49.50. I would have asked why, and the answer: they had two extra plates, and each plate costs €1. We only had one because one came with cutlery. So we didn't pay €48.90, otherwise it would have been €49.50, and we didn't get a receipt either. You can't pay by card there, only cash. As I said, never again, and if someone goes there, you have to watch important things if you want to count.

The restaurant (outdoor area) was sparsely attended. The server was friendly. The pizza was okay. The octopus with salad and bread was a disaster. The octopus was rubbery, the salad wasn't dressed, the bread was old and dry. One water glass was dirty, and the Coke was stale. We will refrain from further visits.

What appears so inconspicuous from the outside is beautifully decorated inside, with loving attention to detail... 📸👍👍 As for the food...a taste sensation (spaghetti with Bolognese) 😋😋

Absolutely. The restaurant has a beautiful interior, perfect for privacy. The beer garden is also top-notch. Gastronomy is a living tradition here. There are also delicious dishes for people with lactose intolerant and gluten intolerance. Just ask the waiter. You have to overcome a small hurdle to get to the entrance; there's a slight incline. But it's not a problem; the path is easy to walk. Once you get to the top, you'll receive a very friendly welcome. Our four dogs were also welcome. The food is of high quality. That's what I can say. Prepare to be surprised; try the excellent cuisine for yourself. Maybe we'll see each other.😃

I find the Nori pizza and the Angelotti very tasty and would happily recommend them. The sea bream is also delicious and is carved at your table by the staff.

We dined with friends for a lunch in an outdoors, forest setting, and it was very good. I had the spaghetti frutti di mare, and it was better than very good. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the seafood was fresh and plentiful. The wine pours were more generous than in the other restaurants we have been sampling this week. The prices are reasonable for the setting and quality. Based on our experience and that of our friends who live here, it merits very good reviews.

There were two of us and we each ordered a latte. Shortly before the waiter reached our table, he dropped a spoon on the floor. I wasn't given a fresh one; I was asked to use my companion's. The ashtray on the table was full, and the waiter poured the contents into the ground next to us (we were sitting at the last table outside) and placed it back on the table, dirty, without wiping it down. The coffee was also only lukewarm. When we asked the waiter about the mishap, he told us he was stressed. There weren't many guests, and both waiters were often standing outside chatting. The tables weren't wiped down after guests left. We won't be coming back.

We come here 2-3 times a year. We've never had any reason to complain. The food is always perfect, although the menu is currently a bit smaller. Nevertheless, everyone can find something tasty. The staff are always friendly and helpful 👍👍 The price-performance ratio is also good. Afterwards, we take a walk around the zoo. It's pure relaxation. Ideal for children. 👍👍👍

10 out of 10 for our spaghetti (see photos of what we ate). It can't get much better than that. We're not just saying that... The spaghetti had the perfect consistency. The oil was fantastic. The frutti de mare was above average. EVERYTHING FRESH. Nothing frozen. Very good value (11.50 or 16.50, I think I remember). The ambiance is good for a restaurant in a zoo/forest. Individually decorated inside. Restrooms are good, almost "worth seeing." We sat inside, as it was a bit chilly. There are a few eye-catchers inside. Nice. The beer garden looked good. Good furniture, obviously. Uneven ground in places, as it's surrounded by trees. We'll be back. They also have fresh fish and meat from the charcoal grill. P.S. Great game enclosures. Large beer garden. Ideal for families or animal lovers. No crowds = quiet and well-kept.

We don't understand the negative reviews. The food was excellent, and we'll definitely be back. The servers are very attentive and everyone is friendly. We just think the drink prices are a bit high, but otherwise everything is fine. We would give the restaurant 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I had the mixed grill, which was very tasty. The grill master knew what he was doing. Everything was prepared quickly and served beautifully. The vegetables, however, weren't that good, and the small breads were too dry. And the chairs outside are far too narrow.

We were invited to a family celebration on a beautiful spring Sunday. The beer garden was accordingly full. At the beginning the service was courteous, but seemed increasingly stressed and overwhelmed. Reordering drinks often took a long time because at some point there were no glasses left and had to be washed first. That shouldn't happen especially since the dishes weren't very high quality. Everyone has to make up their own minds about the food: the sea bass and the rump steak at least looked very good, while the rump steak on the grill plate couldn't be cut (for all three portions) because it was so fried. I had the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio with grilled octopus. Spaghetini in oil with pieces of octopus came. No garnish or herbs, not visually appealing, just lukewarm and poor in taste. On the plus side, the octopus pieces were tender. I've been there twice now for events within 6 months and was disappointed both times, unfortunately.

Nice location, nice service, delicious food

We went for a walk in the forest, played golf and thought we could have a good meal here afterwards. Unfortunately, all three of us were disappointed. Because it was nice outside we decided to sit outside. The ambience outside actually scares you away again. Tables and chairs like cheap garden furniture. If you ate on it you had to be careful that the drink didn't fall over. The side salad was totally submerged in oil and vinegar, which is unfortunately what you could taste. The spaghetti was already half cold when it came and it came quite quickly. As if everything had been faked. For the three of us it was a case of once and never again. Next time we'll get something from the woman at the kiosk (mini golf course).

We had our Christmas party with around 40 people. Everything was discussed in advance. The portions were very small, so many colleagues weren't full. The sea bream was riddled with bones. The saddle of veal steak was good, but along with the side dish it was more of a trial portion. Dessert was completely missing and there was no alternative. Instead we were offered leftovers from an event the day before (19 ports)?! It was agreed that we would stay until at least 00:00. We were scheduled to place our last order shortly after 10:00 p.m. as they would be closing in half an hour. We got a discount because we forgot dessert. All other complaints (not all of which were listed here) were ignored. Everyone was very disappointed.

The food was okay, but I think it's a shame to come to the table at 9:15 p.m. We have to pay now because you want to close. According to the information, you should be open until 10 p.m. We all still had our drinks and had to drink them quickly . We weren't the last ones, there were still quite a few guests on site who all had to leave. The fact that there was no change when paying was also a no go for me. My first and last visit :(

A porcini mushroom soup that was incredibly good - excellent pizzas and great, very attentive service. We have the feeling that the Locanda has changed a lot for the better.

We were looking forward to a cozy evening in the restaurant. We arrived around 7 p.m. The waiter took the drink order. When we wanted to order our meal with spaghetti, we got the answer: There is no pasta anymore. And that in a pizzeria.

My turkey was a bit tough, however my partner's meat plate was very good, especially the lamb chop. The pizza from our table neighbors looked very good, we will try it next time. We had our dog with us, relaxed atmosphere.

Price-performance is not right. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that tasty. Sole with potato and vegetables for €30 was certainly not worth the price: small portion and vegetables were oversalted. The salads weren't a big portion either, but the taste was okay but rather standard. Spaghetti aglio e olio was missing garlic and was swimming in oil. Service OK, could be a little more attentive.

We had a birthday dinner here with about 25 people, unfortunately very disappointed. The grill mix plate is really mix several ordered each plate was different. Some of the meat was very dry and grilled black. The vegetables are still raw. The side salad was only served after the main course. The starter can also only be served after the main course upon request. The pasta dishes were good as were the pizzas and the beer. I try it like this: Since I am quite familiar with Italian cuisine and culture, I can at least say that the service suffers from chronic displeasure or a lack of love. Unfortunately, Italian fiery love had largely died out here. The food was acceptable for "pizzeria" standards, but one can hardly call it a ristorante. The outside area also looks more like a rest area than the pleasant ambience of an Italian restaurant. Very nice location. The waitresses were all very nice and attentive. My wife was even asked about her Iron Maiden T-shirt. We found it funny and nice. The food was on the table in less than 10 minutes. The pizza and the tagliatelle with chanterelles were very tasty. The noodles were almost too much for me. 🤣 Will eat there more often. Absolutely top and recommended.

It's just not a good thing and we probably won't warm up to the LaLocanda in this lifetime. I visited the restaurant every few years because of the location, although I was never really satisfied. Like recently. Pizza dough is generally good, pizza itself is also ok in terms of price. The profit is clearly generated through the very high drinks prices. The pizza toppings, especially the cheese and the tomatoes (sauce), do not taste any different from frozen ones. I've really noticed this every time I've visited and I'm definitely not a gourmet. The service is generally friendly, but chaotic and sometimes unprofessional. This also really runs through our visits. Waiters discussed across the tables who was responsible for what, and you could sense the mutual antipathy. We prefer to combine our walk in the forest with a visit to the three oak trees.

The food was okay so far. However, the service is poor. Small menu and no more tagliatelle at 5 p.m. Frutti di Mare also not available. Going to the toilet was the worst. Dirty, no soap at the sink and no paper towels. Just a tattered toilet roll. We don't go there anymore. Very disappointing.

Wie schon andere schrieben, fades Essen, nicht mal der Pizzateig war gesalzen. Speisekarte ist dürftig, auf die aktuellen Gerichte wird man nicht aufmerksam gemacht, die haben wir erst beim Verlassen entdeckt, weil sie genialerweise beim Betreten des Lokals nicht sichbar waren. Aber auch die waren wohl ähnlich gewürzt, wie man am Nebentisch mitbekam, wo wir uns das Salz und Pfeffer besorgten, weil der überlastete Service trotz Bitte kein eigenes brachte. Demonstrartiv steht der Maserati vor dem Lokal, der Chef weiß scheinbar die Lage der Restaurants finanziell zu nutzen, wenngleich auch das Ambiente vor 20 Jahren mal modern war, nun nur noch abgenutzt und billig.

We walked into the restaurant and were told the kitchen was closed even though the sign said the kitchen was open until 9pm and it was 8:30pm. After we sat down and had a coffee, 15 minutes later a couple came and ordered a dish which was also served to them. We find this an extremely unpleasant situation and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Food is average. Pizza was okay. Pasta is not homemade, which is something you can definitely get at a good Italian restaurant. Wine was not at the right temperature; red wine should not be served at ambient temperature. The outside area seemed unkempt to me. I also find the interior to be chaotic; it seems to me that there is no real concept. Some of the tables in the garden were quite crooked, so that the wine glass swayed dangerously when cutting the pizza. Service seemed a bit annoyed, but maybe that was due to our group. Summarized: Solid foundation, but clear room for upward expansion.

We spontaneously came over for lunch with a group of cyclists when it was raining and were warmly welcomed. The food came relatively quickly and everyone enjoyed it. Gladly again.

Der Pizzateig war fad und auch die Soße hatte kein Gewürz. Bei unserer Gruppe von 12 Personen hat sich fast jeder über das fade geschmacklose Essen beschwert. Und wir mussten alle stark mit Pfeffer und Salz nachwürzen. Eine 5€ Tiefkühlpizza wäre besser als die 14€ Pizza hier.

I've been here a few times and never been completely convinced. Due to a lack of choice in the nearby area, we went there again yesterday. An outdoor kitchen may seem nice, but after I had two mosquitoes in my tagliatelle, I forgot about it. The sauce was very tasteless and for 16.80 it was a very small portion. I had pizza bread with it, which I could hardly eat because it was too soaked in garlic. I could hear similar feedback at the tables next door. Therefore: friendly staff and quick, nice location but it doesn't help if you can cook better and more hygienically at home than in this restaurant

Unfortunately the service was not that good. They seem to give you napkins only if you serve food not dessert. The pizza comes with a little too small plates. The prices are ok but the menu doesn't seem to be complete and you have to ask if they have some specific dishes like desserts. Normally I love italian coffee and I assumed it was but it was not a good one. Pizza was good.

Definitely ideal for sitting outside on warm summer evenings, but the Pizza Vegetaria was terrible. The base was still ok, the green peppers and mushrooms were still raw. The spinach leaves are ice cold, probably from the freezer. The best thing was the beer, but you can't go wrong with that. All in all not worth €18. Once and never again.

Very nicely located, classic beer garden atmosphere. Not everyone in our large group was happy with the food. It varied depending on the dish. Nothing really bad, but not outstanding either. Certainly ideal for a cold beer after a summer walk in the Käfertäler forest.

Admittedly, I didn't expect much, in the middle of the Käfertal forest. I was extremely positively surprised. Super quiet, in the middle of the forest, the pizza and the service and the outdoor terrace were very good, plus a cool Hefeweizen to end Father's Day. Great😎 Great team, we'll be back!

The side salad costs €4.80 and is a real joke. Three leaves of lettuce without dressing. Some oil and vinegar. It could be exciting, but it wasn't. Rarely have I seen such a ridiculously tiny, unimaginative salad. Noodles were tasty, but the portion was rather small. However, there was strawberry sauce on the pasta plate, why? There can't be any aesthetic reasons, 3 red blobs are not necessary now. Salmon noodles and strawberry sauce, fusion cuisine? Ice cream parlor and pizzeria in one? Come on. The decor is diffuse, sexy pictures with a frying pan, lightly dressed women and the cook (?!) but also calls to love Jesus and self-painted pictures (looks like someone painted John Lennon and Christiane F at a Goa party) . Oh and an old drugstore sign is also somehow messed up. But the highlight was a one-year-old's birthday. It was decorated, some influencers would be jealous and the volume was unbearable. At this point, happy birthday little man, you are very loved and, even if you won't remember it, someone put in a lot of effort. However, the restaurant would have had to close the restaurant or swap the dining room. It was really unbearably loud. We won't be coming back. Which is a shame because the location is very nice. After we got out, we enjoyed the peace and quiet for a moment.

Today, the Karlstern is not only a place for relaxation, but also an important cultural center that regularly hosts events and festivities, making it an integral part of Mannheim's cultural heritage. How one feels about the cultural nature of that restaurant remains to be seen. Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of the park, La Locanda offers a welcoming atmosphere where guests can dine on proper Italian cuisine. The ambience outside can, with a little wink, be described as charming and the interior is definitely cozy. Unfortunately, our waitress had a pretty bad day and let us feel it. It wasn't really hospitable, rather a bit arrogant and slightly annoyed. The ordering process didn't go smoothly: some of the ingredients were probably out and so we couldn't order a Caprese salad ("Mozzarella is empty"), for example. Things got particularly tragic when we wanted to order a round of aperitifs for our table: four Aperol Spritz. The waiter just said "I only have three Aperols" and we had to laugh - typical Italian waiter humor. The ice was broken... Unfortunately not, because his facial expression was very serious and he meant it: the Aperol went empty. And in the end it was actually used up and so none of us got an aperitif. After a very long wait, we had to cancel the obligatory coffee at the end because we lost a bit of interest ("All the cups had to be washed"). Difficult. Our main courses, the pizza (Capricciosa & Vegetaria) and the bruschetta, definitely tasted okay and were able to satisfy us. We enjoyed normal drinks such as shandy, apple juice spritzers and water. Unfortunately, beer is only offered in bottles and not on tap. At an Italian restaurant, the wine selection is what counts anyway and it certainly made a good impression. Maybe next time. By the way: the napkins were of good quality. Toilet check: The locations were clean and in good condition. There is nothing to complain about. Even though the overall experience was a bit marred, we still had a good time and might even come back again.

Never this place again!!! We had reserved a table for 7 p.m. We 8 people were greeted unfriendly and told to hurry up with the order because the kitchen closes at 8 p.m. The starter and the main course came together, with the words that they wanted to close straight away. The food itself was a disaster. But the best thing was charging €5.50 for an espresso corretto. Shame on my compatriots.

Normally we eat delicious fresh fish here almost regularly. Today we felt like something simpler.

The positive first: The location is brilliant - unfortunately everything else is not (anymore). The food is average at best, with most dishes drowned in oil. Many things are often not available at all and the service is arrogant and not even remotely trying. When we tried to order another drink 90 minutes before the official end of opening hours, we were told that they were about to close because it wasn't worth it. Things used to be different there - a shame!

Wir bestellten 2 x ganze Lubina + 1 x Ossobuco davor Bruscetta, danach Tiramesu. Alles perfekt auf den Tellern arrangiert und in hervorragender Qualität. Besser geht nicht und dazu prasselndes Kaminfeuer bei minus Außentemperatur. Ein herrliches Sonntag-Mittagessen.

We were there on Christmas Day. So it may be that my rating reflects the stress level of the service. The Marinana pizza had plenty of toppings. It lacked any form of spice. Our plates wanted to slide towards the middle of the table. This was the lowest point of the plastic rattan table. The location is ideal for families. A few meters bus to the forest playground at Karlstern.

There were around 30 people there on a Sunday lunchtime in December. We were set up in the next room, which can be separated from the guest room with a curtain. The service was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately there were no meat or fish dishes on the menu, especially not typically Italian ones. There was only a small selection on one board. However, everything that was served, including pizza and pasta, was good and OK. It was quite cool in the restaurant, which was probably due to the cold winter day. Regarding the sanitary facilities: A few napkins next to the sink to dry your hands could still be improved. I'd love to come back in the summer to enjoy the beer garden too.

Der Service war schlecht, die Pizza nicht durch. Auf die Nachfrage die Pizza nochmal kurz in den Ofen zu schieben kam die Antwort" die muß so sein". Der Salat hat extrem nach Balsamiko geschmeckt. Auch dies reklamiert kam keine Reaktion. Dann nur Flaschebier zu überteuerten Preis.

Super tolles Lokal, super nette Bedienung der immer ein lustigen Spruch drauf hat, gehe gerne dort hin, das Essen kann man sehr empfehlen....komme gerne wieder

Essen war sehr gut, Service war witzig, fast etwas zuviel. Pizza sogar sehr gut. Preis Leistung passt.

Leckeres Essen zum guten Preis. Hatten den Grillteller, Pizza Margerita mit frischem Knobi sowie Ruccula Salat. Grillteller mit Steak, Pute und Schweinemedaillon sowie Kartoffeln und Gemüse. Ruccula hätte intensiver schmecken kömnen, Parmesan etwas hochwertiger. Grillplatte und Pizza super. Hatten noch das Tiramisu und ein Espresso. Den Espresso wünsche ich mir mit mehr Crema, das Tirami war schön cremig.

Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt, die Location hat uns auch gefallen. Die Lage war auch schön, im Wald. Die Bedienung war okay.
