La Locanda in Ingolstadt

Delicious food served by friendly staff. Soft Italian music playing in the background. Simply wonderful. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

A disappointing evening filled with rudeness. We went to La Locanda for dinner with a large group. The dining room is nicely decorated, but very noisy and rather cold. The server was reserved and, like the temperature in the dining room, cold. The food was tasty, but the portions were rather small, and the bread seemed like it had been reheated. Unfortunately, the food didn't arrive at the same time, so we had to eat at different times. The biggest disappointment came when it came time to pay, as no bill was brought to the table, even after asking several times. After 45 minutes, when no server was visible in the dining room, we learned from the kitchen that they had left. When we asked to pay, we were put off for another 5 minutes and ignored. We were told we absolutely had to pay together and then give the money back to the person who was paying. After some discussion, we were thankfully able to pay individually. During the payment process, I was rudely confronted and asked why I was even using my debit card at the terminal when the sign on the door clearly stated that only card payments were accepted. When I then paid in cash, I initially received only €27.42 in change for a €22 bill, which I paid with a €50 note. Upon politely inquiring about the change, I was verbally abused again, pushed aside, and given another 30 cents. All in all, I have never experienced such unfriendly and disrespectful service in a restaurant. The food was tasty, but the service ruined the evening. A gentleman next to us was unable to eat because he didn't receive cutlery despite asking several times. I understand that staff shortages can cause problems, but a more elegant and customer-friendly handling of the situation would definitely have saved our evening. Absolutely not recommended.

The one star is for the truly excellent food, but I've never experienced service like this. The server greeted us with a questioning look. After inquiring about our reserved table, we were simply told, "That one over there." But the best part came at the end of our visit. After we asked to pay, the server disappeared, and no one from the restaurant was seen for 45 minutes. I even tried calling the restaurant to ask for a server, but no one answered. So we went to the kitchen, where we were told the server had gone home and that we should pay for everything together (our group of six). When we refused, we were told to come back in 10 minutes. The man who took our payment couldn't manage the cash register, didn't have any change, and was extremely rude. Eventually, he said he'd had enough and was closing next week. No loss, I won't be going back to that place.

If I could give negative stars, I would. It's a shame because the food itself was very good. The service, however, was indescribably... bad. I don't even want to know what the lady at the next table, who was celebrating her birthday, finally did after waiting for over an hour, but I would have much preferred to leave without paying. The server, who seemed rather annoyed from the start, simply left us, claiming sudden illness. We only found this out after waiting 45 minutes for the bill. Only after we went into the kitchen were we informed that not only had the server abandoned the sinking ship, but also the owner (I think it was the owner) who was still present and didn't know how to use the cash register. He just snapped at us. (We were also being rude, as we actually wanted to pay separately, partly by card.) During the payment process, we were repeatedly told that he couldn't do anything about it, that he just had bad staff, and that it wasn't his fault. At no point was there an apology or even a hint of understanding regarding our dissatisfaction. I understand that good staff isn't easy to find, but a good owner knows how to handle that and finds ways to satisfy their guests. It's a real shame, because a restaurant's success hinges on its service. The food can be excellent, but 20 minutes of good food followed by 3 hours of poor service simply doesn't add up.

Yesterday was my birthday, and I wanted to go there for dinner with a friend. We had a reservation for 6 p.m. The website said it was open even earlier, at 5:30 p.m. We arrived on time, but the door was locked. We could see people inside. After knocking several times and calling, someone finally opened the door. Our first impression: coffee cups, wine glasses, and other dishes scattered across a table. When we got to our table, one person was missing a fork and napkin. There were still leftovers on the table next to us. The food itself was good. The price was questionable, but at least it tasted good. However, it seemed as if the owner of the restaurant was drunk. He lightly touched me and other female customers on the shoulder or half-hugged them as if they were close friends. I simply didn't want to be touched on the shoulder! Furthermore, when we tried to pay by card, he was so disoriented that he entered the wrong amount. But that's his bad luck, because we paid considerably less than we should have. And yet we pointed it out to him and even wanted to leave a tip despite the service. But he didn't really acknowledge or understand anything. I'm sure he lost a lot of money and tips yesterday. And one more thing for those who haven't been there: It's very, very small and cramped. You might find it cozy or too confining. It's also very noisy inside. Personally, I liked it that way, but others might prefer quieter restaurants.

Unfortunately, only 2 stars for service. I asked for a wine recommendation. Firstly, the waiter had to fetch the manager because he had no idea, and secondly, I was given a house wine, which I don't think is appropriate as a wine recommendation. In the end, I had to wait another 45-60 minutes for the bill, only for the waiter to tell me that it would go faster if I went with him. It wasn't really busy either. The food was really good and the ambiance was nice, but unfortunately, only 3 stars due to the service. However, I would still like to see for myself again, perhaps until next time.

The inn is a real Italian restaurant located in Germany I recommend it ❤️❤️❤️

Unfortunately, I can't agree with the positive reviews. While the food was delicious, the service was rather intrusive. While I was ordering, the waitress touched my shoulder and asked if I was single. That can be excused with reference to Italian culture, etc. But when I was paying, his hand touched my face, that was it. I don't want to know what his hands have touched today, and I don't want to be touched by strangers. Especially not on my face. Therefore, especially as a woman, I wouldn't go there again :(

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, NOT RECOM We made a reservation for 7:00 PM and called beforehand to ask if bringing a stroller would be an issue. They assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, they told us we had to leave the stroller far from our table… with a 3-month-old baby! The lack of empathy and consideration from the staff was unacceptable. If they had been honest about not having space for a stroller, we would have chosen another place. Instead, they wasted our time and made us feel uncomfortable. We won’t be coming back, and we definitely do not recommend this place to anyone expecting even basic courtesy and professionalism.

Terrible experience – Unfriendly and unaccommodating staff We made a reservation for dinner for four people and specifically mentioned that we needed space for a stroller, as we were bringing our 3-month-old baby. However, upon arrival, we were told to leave the stroller at the opposite end of the restaurant, close to other people, because "there was no space." When we explained that the baby had to stay in the stroller, they refused to accommodate us and, instead of offering a solution, they kicked us out of the restaurant. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to help. If you're a family with young children, avoid this place—clearly, they have no interest in making their customers feel welcome.

We called and reserved a table for 4, indicating we would be coming with a stroller, and were told it was no problem. When we arrived we were told that there was no space for the stroller and we were not offered any solution or alternative (well, we were told to take the 3 month old baby out or leave him at the entrance of the restaurant next to other people). A shame and I repeat that they gave us the OK over the phone. At 7pm on a Saturday they left us no choice but to leave the restaurant. Lousy service, I don't recommend it. If you go with children, they are not welcome.

We reserved a table 4 days in advance saying that we are 4 adults and a stroller. We were told it wasn't a problem. When we arrived we were told that the 3 month old stroller had no room and had to be folded up or left with the baby at the door of the restaurant next to another table and far away from the table we wanted to eat at. They didn't give us a solution even though we told them over the phone that we were taking a stroller. Very rude whoever served us. We had to go and find a restaurant at 7pm on a Saturday. Very very bad experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Best sea bream in a salt crust with grilled vegetables, nice and firm to the bite. Boss is super hard working and nice. Always a good wine recommendation. Original Italian espresso from the portafilter machine. Few seats inside, nice to sit outside. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find good service staff.

My friend and I recently had a spontaneous meal there. Unfortunately, the ravioli were almost cold and the portion was very manageable given the “high price”. When we made a polite and objective criticism, neither the waitress nor the boss accepted it or took it seriously. Unfortunately, we had to get up and go inside to pay. Unfortunately, payment by credit card was not desired or possible. Too bad

Unsere Vorspeise war sehr lecker (leider habe ich kein Foto gemacht) und der empfohlene Wein hat gut zum Essen gepasst. Die Location ist in einer Seitenstraße gelegen, ruhig auch wenn die Tische auf dem Bürgersteig stehen. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend - hier kommen wir sicherlich wieder hin.

Food good but then only take CASH, walk all round Ingolstadt in night. NOT serious tourism. 3rd rate Pity, food was OK, good portions. Service OK. Just add 3/4hr finding cash machine in the dark!

Food was OK. Only the service is unacceptable. After the starter, the cutlery was taken from the plate and put back on the napkin with the comment: not enough staff. Paying with credit card is not possible. Only cash is commodity. Yes, why? 😇😇

Wir kamen an einem Freitag Abend gegen 20:30 ins La Locanda, das wir in der Vergangenheit schon mehrfach besucht hatten. Das Essen war bisher immer gut, der Service sehr schwankend. Leider ist der Service inzwischen auf einem Tiefpunkt angelangt. Das Restaurant war Innen bis auf 1 Tisch leer, die Plätze vor dem La Locanda waren belegt. Nach knapp 15min wurde dann doch eine Bedienung auf uns aufmerksam (der Chef saß sogar direkt am Tisch hinter uns und hat unsere Ankunft mitbekommen) und hat uns stillschweigend 2 Speisekarten hingelegt. Kein "Hallo" oder "guten Abend"....gar nichts. Es folgte dann ein knappes "zum Trinken?"....das war der Moment , wo wir aufgestanden und gegangen sind. Wir können dem La Locanda nur ans Herz legen vernünftiges Service-Personal einzustellen. Wir werden sicherlich so schnell nicht mehr hingehen

arrogant, snooty, insulting It was actually supposed to be a relaxed evening for a big birthday, 10 people with children, but we hadn't expected a (presumably) owner who doesn't care about guests at all, who talks down to guests and who ultimately even insults guests. Our birthday party ended abruptly after the owner insulted one of us in Italian, which is only stupid when there is someone there who understands Italian. We got up and left, we didn't get to dinner!

Not recommended! Boss was unfriendly and incapable of criticism! Food was cold (ravioli) and definitely not enough for the “good” price. If you want to spend a lot of money on little food and come home hungry, this is the right place for you. The toilets 🚽 Grade 5! Additional information: no credit card payment possible. Yes, I felt very comfortable here. Hugs from the host. Without the touch of “I have to earn money and that’s why I’m doing this.” There was good wine, good food, nice conversations. Very nice. I had missed it in Ingolstadt so far.

Small, authentic, no-frills restaurant with a focus on what's important. A restaurant like this is rare! Incredibly delicious food, great service and a very charming atmosphere!

A charming little Italian restaurant with a select menu and very fresh, authentic dishes. We ate very well, drank the right wine, were looked after unobtrusively and felt very comfortable. The sea bream in a salt crust was a poem.

ich war sowas von enttäuscht, hatte einen Tisch für eine Familienfeier gebucht. Nach dem Essen wurden wir sofort mehrmals gefragt, ob wir zahlen wollen. Es wurden wohl mehr Reservierungen angenommen, als Tische da waren. Essen und gehen. Fand ich schon sehr unverschämt. Noch dazu hatte ich einen Stein im 2,5 cm Druchmesser großen Stein im Essen! Die Bedieung hat daraufhin nicht mal reagiert.

I'm kind of disappointed! First I had a pebble in my food - then the waitress didn't even respond. We had celebrated a birthday. The innkeeper then asked us several times immediately after our meal if we wanted to pay, as he had apparently accepted more reservations than he had seats. This was not how I imagined a birthday party would be! The family celebration was quickly broken up!

Rarely eaten SO well! We passed this restaurant by chance and would visit it again and again. Very small, cozy shop and despite no reservation and the place being full, we got a table straight away. It tasted wonderful and even the bread was still warm. The staff also very friendly and attentive.

Na was soll man da noch sagen 🙈 Essen war ja passt schon muss ich nicht noch mal haben, aber der Wirt ist Voll daneben, echt eine Frechheit 👎 Hatten einen Gutschein den er nicht annehmen wollte da wir ihn vorher nicht angekündigt haben und war dann sehr unverschämt und ausfallend, bildet sich Wunder was ein in seinem echt schmuddeligem Laden der sieht uns nicht wieder echt nicht zu empfehlen ☝️

Essen war jetzt nicht der Brüller...viel zu laut, sodass man sich am Tisch nicht verstehen konnte und gezogen hat es leider auch, da der Vorhang hinter der Eingangstür nur als Deko angesehen wurde und nicht zum Einsatz kam um den kalten Luftzug zu vermeiden. Die Nachspeise war lecker um was positives zu erwähnen. Visa Karte wurde beim Bezahlen nicht akzeptiert und sehr teuer war das Essen leider auch noch. Wie man schon hört, ich werde hier nicht mehr hingehen. Schade weil es ein kleines Restaurant ist, was potential hat. Dennoch verschafft euch selbst einen Eindruck!!!

Ein guter Italiener mit übersichtlicher Karte aber für jeden was dabei. Da ich kein großer Fan vom italienischem Essen bin vergebe ich nur für mich die Punkte. Der Service war eher schleppend obwohl es nicht so voll war.

Schönes kleines italienisches Restaurant! Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren genau richtig. Fun fact, der erste Italiener der keine Pizza anbietet… 😉

Das Essen überzeugt mit sehr guter Qualität und schmeckt hervorragend. Es wird schön und sauber angerichtet. Preis Leistung ist dies eine 10/10. Das Lokal ist allerdings etwas kleiner, jedoch trotzdem bequem. Sehr empfehlenswert für authentische italienische Küche mitten in der Innenstadt.

Italiener ohne Carbonara auf der Speisekarte? Gesundheit

Den Punkt weniger beim Service gibt es für den etwas merkwürdig anmutenden Chef. Die beiden Damen an dem Abend waren äußerst zuvorkommend und charmant. Essen ist sehr gut. Preise sind noch ok.

Sind zufällig dort gelandet. Der Chef war sehr bemüht und der Service super freundlich. Das Essen war aussergewöhnlich gut. Hier wird mit Liebe gekocht und bewirtet. Die Außenplätze sind unmittelbar an einer Straße. Das ist einerseits schön lebhaft, andererseits fahren einige Cruiser immer wieder vorbei um sich und ihren Musikgeschmack zu präsentieren.

Sehr kleines und gemütliches Restaurant. Für Menschen mit Platzangst ist das Restaurant leider nichts, da die Tische sehr nah nebeneinander stehen. Extrem gute Pasta, aufjedenfall die beste aus ganz Ingolstadt! Preise sind deutlich teurer wie in „normalen“ Restaurants, aber dafür sehr hohe Qualität der Produkte.

Waren zu sechst zu einer kleinen Feier dort. Hatten wieder mal einen wunderschönen Abend mit leckerem Essen, tollem Ambiente und vor allem absolut angenehmen Service. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher wieder.

Wir haben dort mit Frenden zu Mittag gegessen : alle wählten die Baby-Calamari fritti. Äußerst schmackhaft, tagellos frisch zubereitet, wir waren sehr zufrieden.
