Nothing special. Well-known Italian cuisine and slightly "irritable" waiters. Unironed tablecloths and slow service.. Italian restaurant as you know it. I could still recommend it, overall okay.

Were there on Saturday at lunchtime (with reservation). The reserved table was too small for the number of people and had to be rescheduled. Appetizers were almost consumed before the drinks arrived. Food (pizza, pasta, salad) is really nothing special and pretty tasteless. The staff really shocked me: totally rude, disinterested and annoyed. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but this was really terrible. Eye rolls, annoyed tone of voice, drinks weren't put down, they were pushed into our hands and spilled in the process. I have no idea what to say about that :D

As a restaurant critic 🥸 I have to say that I personally prefer the pizza at L'Osteria, but the atmosphere there is anything but pleasant. You sit close to strangers, which significantly detracts from the overall experience. In contrast, Al Castello offers a much more spacious space. Here you can feel like royalty as the tables are several meters apart. As for the pizza at Al Castello, I would rate it a solid 6.8 out of 10 – so not outstanding, but definitely passable. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves what is more important to them: the taste or the ambience. As with so many things in life, it is a question of priorities and decisions.

nice atmosphere, hard-working service. 🙂The kitchen was only very economical with the turkey meat when it came to the pasta with turkey meat. At least three (3) approximately 5mm pieces were identified. 🙁

Once and never again. I was here in 2023, I ordered a pizza with shrimp, I got a totally soft, anything but crispy dough with 4 shrimp on top. The beer I ordered was empty when the food was delivered. I wanted to order a new one, so I was referred to my colleague, but he didn't come near for the next 30 minutes. So pizza bad, service bad. 90% of all Italians in Ingolstadt can do better. Addendum: A sports friend of mine was there at the weekend. I asked him for his unbiased opinion (it could have been that I was just having a bad day). Unfortunately it's exactly the same for him. His Pizza Funghj didn't even have a whole mushroom on the dough, which was also completely soggy. When clearing away the waiter banged the plates together so much that the sauce splashed on the guests. So same song, food disaster, service too. Save yourself the visit!

Very large selection of pizzas. It tasted very good and was a decent size. Price-performance ratio is good. Service was friendly but rather reactive and defensive. Well visited.

We really enjoy eating pizza there. But there are also excellent fish dishes that are professionally presented at the table.

So far the best pizza I have eaten in Germany.

The best pizzas (by far) in all of Ingolstadt. Yesterday there were only two of us, but again we had an excellent meal and, unlike many other restaurants (which will be surprised when there are no guests), it was still good value for money. The crucial question: more expensive prices => fewer and fewer guests or cheaper prices => more and more guests. Nevertheless, there is one point of criticism. Instead of an affogatto (with espresso) that I ordered, they brought me a coffee as an affogatto and neither of us (my wife drank too) couldn't fall asleep the whole night :-( By the way, we are a large multicultural group of 12-18 people and go out to eat every Wednesday throughout the Ingolstadt area. The Castello is our recommendation for delicious Italian cuisine.

The service is very nice and friendly: quick service, always available; the waiters are always looking around and ready to serve. The food could be better though: I suggest to add more cheese, and also to work on the taste of the chicken (I had the impression it was cooked several time; it could have a better taste.) However, the plate was not that bad. The restaurant is located in the city center of Ingolstadt; the atmosphere is fine: not perfect but also not bad. The overall experience was ok.

We were already at Al Castello when it was still on the Ingobräu premises and we also come regularly to the Rappensberger premises. The pizzas are very tasty and the selection is large, including many special toppings. Appetizers are equally delicious. Unfortunately, the service doesn't match the upscale ambience. Different dishes usually don't come to the table at nearly the same time, so there can be a delay of 15 minutes. Waiters often overworked/overwhelmed, repeat orders difficult. We also like to go out for a fine Italian meal, but in my opinion Al Castello doesn't qualify for this and retains the status of "good pizzeria" for me.

Food and service were always very good. In summer the courtyard is very beautiful! Depending on the table, the restaurant can sometimes be a bit loud and echoey.

I don't know how someone comes up with five stars in the reviews and rates the food and ambience as good. Pizza is big but completely unseasoned and poorly topped. Pasta is far too little and also completely unseasoned and tastes like it was cooked by someone where there was none Had a clue.Sat in the dark courtyard and every half minute another waiter ran past the table cursing in Italian, completely uncomfortable, hectic, and there was no question of relaxing while eating.Wasted money, never going there again.

Very good pizza, with very very good quality-price ratio. I haven't tried many pizzas in Germany, but I thought this one was very good, for 10 euros you have a pizza that goes off the plate (large) and with quite a few ingredients (they are in short supply lately...). Several friends went and we all ordered the same thing, pizza castello, with a little of all the meats and for dessert a panna cotta with berries. Everything was very good, the pizza without burning the edges, large in size, thin dough and with a great content of ingredients and finally the dessert with its syrup/jam that was very delicious. In short, a place to eat well for little money.

Pizza was good, unfortunately the service wasn't. The waiter was very confident in himself and only made himself comfortable at the table after we made our presence known several times. That was the case when ordering, eating, reordering and paying........ The ambience was a little old........

Fine Italian cuisine, very attentive service, gladly again

The food itself is good by German-Italian standards, but nothing special. We were recently disappointed with the service. The staff quickly seem annoyed and don't particularly try to serve the customers appropriately. It's a shame, one less restaurant, some of which we enjoyed visiting.

The best pizzas there are. I travel a lot, but have never had a better tasting pizza (preferably Cipolle) in Germany or internationally. That's why I'm happy to have Castello at home :) Even after more than 24 years, it's still fantastic. Plus top service. Please keep it up!

Very nicely done with multiple rooms. The food was beautifully served and very tasty. Entrance is the same as for hotel if someone is going there for the first time. ) The only thing about the day, I hope it's not always like this, was that it was a little too warm in there.

Unfortunately not as good as it used to be! We were thrilled with the great pizzas for many years. Even as a vegan, because we order the pizza without cheese due to the lack of an alternative. The last few times we noticed that we were now saving on the vegetable topping. The garlic oil didn't help either; the pizza was so dry that it wouldn't slide anymore. It's a shame that at the same price without cheese, there are also savings on the vegetable topping. Sorry, but three small cauliflower florets and a slice of eggplant that was still almost raw, that's nothing compared to your previous pizzas...

Ate there again after a long time. We enjoyed it very much and the service was excellent 👍

Seit langem mal wieder abends zum Italiener Essen gegangen. Wir hatten vorne im Lokal einen schönen Tisch der uns vom sehr freundlichen Personal zugewiesen wurde. Wir begannen mit einem Aperitif ( Limoncello-Sprizz und Aperol-Sprizz) hatten sehr gute Vorspeisen und Nudelgerichte in verschiedenen Variationen als Hauptgericht. Abgerundet wurde das Ganze mit einer Nachspeise aus Tiramisu und Pannacotta. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend.

Leider nicht so wie erwartet. Kalb war zu dünn und trocken, die Pilze/Morcheln waren nicht frisch (evtl aus der Dose). Nachspeise war mit panna Cotta und Tiramisu auch durchschnittlich. Schade. Werde wahrscheinlich nicht mehr dort hin gehen.

Mittwoch ist Pizzatage - lecker und günstig. Im vorderen Bereich ist die Akkustik besser. Hinten ist eine Unterhaltung schwierig, wenn es voll ist. Im Sommer hat das Restaurant einen tollen, windstillen Innenhof. Wäre die Akkustik besser (schallabsorbierende Deckenpaneele) gäbe es auch für das Ambiente 5 Sterne. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Essen ist gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Extrem lange Wartezeit auf die Bestellung und dann auf das Essen.

Wir waren früher schon einmal hier, es lässt aber immer mehr nach. Zuletzt waren wir neulich mit einer größeren Gruppe dort. Das Personal war extrem genervt und unfreundlich. So etwas habe ich selten erlebt. Vom Augen verdrehen bis übers Anpampen der Gäste war alles dabei. Richtung Feierabend wurden wir und andere Gäste extrem unverschämt zum Zahlen und Gehen aufgefordert. Mir ist klar, dass jeder Feierabend machen will, aber es gibt einen Unterschied zwischen: wir müssen abrechnen, wir schließen bald und: jetzt könnt gefälligst vorne bezahlen. Mich persönlich sieht das Lokal nicht wieder. Schade, das Ambiente im Innenhof ist toll. Das Essen war Ok, aber früher ebenfalls besser.

Glücklicherweise hatten wir einen Tisch bestellt, das große Lokal war rappelvoll. Trotzdem aufmerksamer Service und das leckere Essen wurde zügig serviert. Punktabzug für den wahnsinnig hohen Lärmpegel, hat den Genuß enorm geschmälert :((

Local con varios comedores, siempre muy lleno, hacen lo imposible por acomodarnos somos un grupo de trabajadores desplazados españoles, sin problemas con el idioma, y mucho menos con la comida, una maravilla.

einwandfreie Italienische Küche - gerne wieder

Früher stand das Castello für mich für einen der besten Italiener in Ingolstadt, aber mittlerweile kann ich das nicht mehr bestätigen. Gerade die Erfahrung am Wochenende war sehr negativ. Die Ravioli haben wie TK Ravioli geschmeckt, die Pizza ok, aber nicht mehr als Durchschnitt und von der Bruschetta waren 2 von 4 Stücken komplett verbrannt. Keine Entschuldigung, kein Preisnachlass, im Gegenteil - abfälliges Kopfschütteln und wortlos den Teller weggetragen. War dann wohl unser letzter Besuch hier. Nur gegen die Location kann man nach wie vor nix sagen, die ist wirklich super.

Ein gutes italienisches Restaurant, das mit seinen nationalen Spezialitäten glänzt. Immer wieder gerne zu Besuch.

Eine der besten Pizzen, die ich in Ingolstadt je gegessen habe. Toller aufmerksamer Service, trotz voller Hütte am Holzofenpizza-Mittwoch. Preis-Leistung unschlagbar! War zum ersten, aber mit Sicherheit nicht zum letzten Mal dort!

Die Pizza ist sehr lecker und wurde vom freundlichem Personal sehr schnell serviert. Wir waren im Hof gesessen dort ist ein kleiner Brunnen und die Tische sind typisch italienisch eingedeckt. Zuvor haben wir Brot gereicht bekommen dazu eine Knoblauchsoße oder eine scharfe Soße. Die Pizza hat eine schöne Größe und der Rand ist gut kross.

Respectable management of the restaurant at the castle. I hereby wish to inform you of the infidelity of some of your waiters. Usually every two weeks we are with Italian colleagues on Airbus for work. And we periodically use your restaurant. Unfortunately last night I was alone and without glasses and I couldn't check the bill, which I did as soon as I got to the hotel room. I ordered and consumed: 1) veal with tuna sauce 2) mixed salad with chicken and buffalo mozzarella 3) tiramisu 4) two glasses of cabernet red wine. The bearded waiter of Spanish origin presented me with a bill of Euro 61. Paid with debit card. The price seemed expensive compared to what I usually pay but as I didn't have my glasses with me I had the receipt delivered which I checked in the hotel room. The receipt stated: 1) Spaghetti with scampi 2) two tiramisu 3) two bottles of mineral water 4) two buffalo pizzas with artichokes This drink was made at the table next to mine by two ladies who then paid in cash. Obviously it's my fault for not checking the bill immediately but I believe that this cunning behavior should be made known to all my Italian and German colleagues, inviting them to avoid your restaurant. Geschmacklich einwandfreie Speisen, italienisch, visuell sehr ansprechend auf dem Teller serviert, Mengen sind ausreichend. Der Service gut und schnell, höfliches Personal. Viel Platz im Innenhof, in Gebäude verschiedene abgetrennte Bereichen. Sehr gut geeignet für Familien und Betriebsfeiern.

Ein sehr schöner Italiener. Auch mit Kindern fühlt man sich hier immer willkommen - was auch an dem stets super freundlichen Personal liegt. Und das Essen schmeckt einfach immer lecker.

Die Pizzen sind sehr zu empfehlen.

Naast een groot aantal pizza’s en pasta’s heeft men ook een mooie doorsnede van verschillende Italiaanse vis en vleesgerechten. De saltimbocca alla romana en pappardelle con scampi die wie kozen waren ontzettend lekker. De wijn, Formentini Pinot Grigio een aanrader. De bediening was attenten erg vriendelijk. De prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is goed. Dit restaurant is een aanrader!

Pizza war total verbrannt....der Kellner maulte rum...weil wir uns ein bisschen ins Abseits gesetzt haben...und er ein paar Meter weiter laufen musste... Im Eingangsbereich schmuddelig und es hat gestunken....nicht gerade Appetitfördernd.... Leider hat das Restaurant extrem nachgelassen... Schade 😔

Schlechtester Italiener den ich je besucht habe. Genervtes Personal, mega schlechtes Essen, mieses Ambiente. Wollten spontan Abendessen dort um 17.30 Uhr (gleich nach Eröffnung), auf Nachfrage ob noch Tische frei wären, verdrehte der zwischen Terrasse und Restaurant rauchende Kellner erstmal die Augen, der Barmann verwies ohne Begrüßung o ä an den kollegen. Getränke waren teilweise falsch, Tisch wird abgeräumt obwohl noch gegessen wird, Gerichte waren wirklich sehr geschmacklos und Öl/Essig nicht aufgefüllt. Keine Musik, Kerze/Blume auf dem Tisch, nix. Man hat uns ins letzte Eck gesetzt, obwohl das halbe Restaurant leer war. Wir kommen bestimmt nicht wieder

Im Hotel übernachtet und auch gleich zum Abendessen geblieben. Das Gefühl, in dem vollen Lokal nicht willkommen zu sein, begleitete uns durch den Abend. Nach ewiger Wartezeit konnten wir das Duetto Scampi mit Kalamari und Pasta mit Trüffel ordern! Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr lecker, auf den Punkt getroffen, feiner Trüffelgeschmack. Gerne hätten wir noch mehr gegessen und getrunken aber niemand kam, obwohl genügen Kellner da waren. Essen und Ambiente super! Portionsgröße zum Preis und Service ausbaufähig

Wir waren an einem Sonntagabend zu dritt hier. Der Service war fix, auch wenn es leichte Verständigungsprobleme gab (nicht jeder Italiener spricht deutsch). Die Getränke wurden sehr schnell geliefert und die verschiedenen Essen (2x Nudeln, 1x Pizza) wurden gleichzeit und auch zügig geliefert. Zusammen mit drei Getränken und zwei Grappa haben wir ca. 75€ bezahlt, was aus meiner Sicht absolut okay ist.

Wir waren an einem Mittwoch Mittag zu zweit zum Essen hier. Wir hatten eine Pizza und ein Nudelgericht von der Mittagskarte. Inklusiv zweier Getränke haben wir 23€ bezahlt und waren nach weniger als 45 min wieder draußen. Die Kellner waren sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und flink. Das Essen selber war sehr gut!! Mittwochabend ist Pizzatag und es gibt hier das Angebot von 7€ oder 7,50€ für die meisten Pizzas.

1,5h aufs Essen gewartet. Sowohl die Bedienung als auch der Chef waren unhöflich und in keiner Weise Einsichtig oder bestrebt. Nicht mal eine Entschuldigung

3 days in Ingolstadt. 6 Restaurant slots. All of them here. We probably miss some great restaurants in town, but when one bumps into something like this, believe me, you better not take the risk. Just wonderful.

Waren heute Abend auf ne Pizza 🍕 hier die wirklich lecker war! Salat 🥗 und Pizza 🍕 wurden schnell geliefert - der service war freundlich und nett. Hierher kommen wir auf alle Fälle wieder !!!

Wir hatten Pizza eine Diavola und Calzone (die Beste seit langem) der Service war sehr nett - ist sehr empfehlenswert, für alle Fans : hier gibt es die echten italienischen Spaghetti carbonara mit Ei ohne Sahne!
