Tall, gray-haired, thin older waiter is unpleasant.

Restaurant very good...very full...staff very friendly and attentive. Buffalo mozzarella pizza eaten with salad was good. Dessert was supposed to be tiramisu but it was more of a cheap imitation of it. There was hardly any mascarpone, if any. More of a pure cream slice with spoonfuls. Not even a trace of Amaretto. Wife had three kinds of desserts that weren't a hit either, including Muse Chocolat. The only really good one was the lemon sorbet.

The food on site was very good. Pizzas are highly recommended. The rest of the food is sometimes a bit small and you should add an appetizer. Service is top. Drink prices are cheap The location itself is very large

Best Cozze in Ingolstadt 👌🏼 Super nice atmosphere in the front part (bistro) of the restaurant, courteous service and very tasty, high quality food at absolutely fair prices. We come regularly and are always more than satisfied! Great recommendation!

Nice and large restaurant with lots of seats. It can get a bit noisy in the back. The food is delicious and there is something for every taste. The service was nice and attentive. The portions could be a little bigger.

By far the best pizza I've eaten in a long time - even though there are definitely good competitors here in Ingolstadt ;-) Excellent dough, optimally topped and the “seasoning basket” with salt, pepper and chili oil rounds off the taste perfectly. The selection of pizzas is also gigantic and is estimated to be over 30 different ones? Small suggestion for improvement: due to the sheer number of pizzas, perhaps a future version of the menu will provide a little more overview, e.g.: using small icons next to the pizza name, for vegetarians and pescatarians. So I have to spend a lot of time reading through every single ingredient.

Ich war das zweite Mal hier, doch leider konnte mich die Pizza wieder nicht überzeugen. Der Teig ist kompakt und nicht fluffig. Der Rand überhaupt nicht knusprig, sehr schwer zu essen. Dafür war das Essen wirklich sehr schnell auf dem Tisch und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Leider hat mich die Nachspeise auch schwer enttäuscht, denn das Tiramisu wurde mit Sahne zubereitet und hat somit nichts mit Tiramisu für mich zu tun.

Very tasty food and very friendly and accommodating boss!

Unfortunately I was very disappointed: 1) Cucumber salad: cucumber slices with oil + dry herbs 😬 2) Pizza a la Chef: 4 very, very small piles of salami + pickled mushrooms & canned peppers. The best part was really just the dough. What kind of boss?😬 3) Chianti: way too cold and not tasty😬 ....unfortunately...

The pizza was very, very tasty and on pizza day the price was unbeatable. The staff is very friendly, although we weren't served until later in the hour and were left high and dry. Regarding the ambience: it was very crowded and therefore very loud. You could only talk to your immediate neighbors at the table. Great food, atmosphere could be more pleasant :)

I was in this beautiful city for the first time and I had lunch and dinner for 3 days at Al Castello because it really deserves that you taste the entire menu. From the pizza with a unique and very light taste because it has a long leavening and therefore very digestible, to the delicious first and second courses, all prepared with excellent quality raw materials and without surprises. Truly an Italian restaurant abroad that deserves 10 stars. The extremely polite staff and despite always being full of people (the reason goes without saying), they never lose attention to the customer. To conclude with the owners Maria and Silvano who are super kind and will always make you feel at home. A wonderful experience, I will return whenever I can.

I had to wait almost 2 hours for my pizza, but when I got it it tasted very good. Staff really stressed but still nice.

Price-performance unbeatable. Outdoor area very nice in summer. Unfortunately, a few areas inside are not quite as comfortable as it is very loud. Could be fixed with appropriate setup. Stone oven pizza on pizza day is absolutely recommended 👌🏻

On the occasion of our daughter's wedding in June 2023, we experienced a professionally organized celebration here, with a very nice ambience, very good food and super friendly service. We are once again more than thrilled and happy to be here on the occasion of a lovely birthday party in September 2024. The Al Castello and also the Hotel Rappensberger are highly recommended, many thanks to the entire team

Nothing special. Well-known Italian cuisine and slightly "irritable" waiters. Unironed tablecloths and slow service.. Italian restaurant as you know it. I could still recommend it, overall okay.

Were there on Saturday at lunchtime (with reservation). The reserved table was too small for the number of people and had to be rescheduled. Appetizers were almost consumed before the drinks arrived. Food (pizza, pasta, salad) is really nothing special and pretty tasteless. The staff really shocked me: totally rude, disinterested and annoyed. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but this was really terrible. Eye rolls, annoyed tone of voice, drinks weren't put down, they were pushed into our hands and spilled in the process. I have no idea what to say about that :D

As a restaurant critic 🥸 I have to say that I personally prefer the pizza at L'Osteria, but the atmosphere there is anything but pleasant. You sit close to strangers, which significantly detracts from the overall experience. In contrast, Al Castello offers a much more spacious space. Here you can feel like royalty as the tables are several meters apart. As for the pizza at Al Castello, I would rate it a solid 6.8 out of 10 – so not outstanding, but definitely passable. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves what is more important to them: the taste or the ambience. As with so many things in life, it is a question of priorities and decisions.

Ottima pasta , pizza perfetta, sapori italiani, servizio veloce e garbato. Davvero consigliato, anche per il prezzo (meno di 50€ due piatti di pasta, una pizza due bibite e una birra). Chi vuole provare il cibo italiano qui non resterà deluso!

Once and never again. I was here in 2023, I ordered a pizza with shrimp, I got a totally soft, anything but crispy dough with 4 shrimp on top. The beer I ordered was empty when the food was delivered. I wanted to order a new one, so I was referred to my colleague, but he didn't come near for the next 30 minutes. So pizza bad, service bad. 90% of all Italians in Ingolstadt can do better. Addendum: A sports friend of mine was there at the weekend. I asked him for his unbiased opinion (it could have been that I was just having a bad day). Unfortunately it's exactly the same for him. His Pizza Funghj didn't even have a whole mushroom on the dough, which was also completely soggy. When clearing away the waiter banged the plates together so much that the sauce splashed on the guests. So same song, food disaster, service too. Save yourself the visit!

Very large selection of pizzas. It tasted very good and was a decent size. Price-performance ratio is good. Service was friendly but rather reactive and defensive. Well visited.

We really enjoy eating pizza there. But there are also excellent fish dishes that are professionally presented at the table.

The best pizzas (by far) in all of Ingolstadt. Yesterday there were only two of us, but again we had an excellent meal and, unlike many other restaurants (which will be surprised when there are no guests), it was still good value for money. The crucial question: more expensive prices => fewer and fewer guests or cheaper prices => more and more guests. Nevertheless, there is one point of criticism. Instead of an affogatto (with espresso) that I ordered, they brought me a coffee as an affogatto and neither of us (my wife drank too) couldn't fall asleep the whole night :-( By the way, we are a large multicultural group of 12-18 people and go out to eat every Wednesday throughout the Ingolstadt area. The Castello is our recommendation for delicious Italian cuisine.

The service is very nice and friendly: quick service, always available; the waiters are always looking around and ready to serve. The food could be better though: I suggest to add more cheese, and also to work on the taste of the chicken (I had the impression it was cooked several time; it could have a better taste.) However, the plate was not that bad. The restaurant is located in the city center of Ingolstadt; the atmosphere is fine: not perfect but also not bad. The overall experience was ok.

We were already at Al Castello when it was still on the Ingobräu premises and we also come regularly to the Rappensberger premises. The pizzas are very tasty and the selection is large, including many special toppings. Appetizers are equally delicious. Unfortunately, the service doesn't match the upscale ambience. Different dishes usually don't come to the table at nearly the same time, so there can be a delay of 15 minutes. Waiters often overworked/overwhelmed, repeat orders difficult. We also like to go out for a fine Italian meal, but in my opinion Al Castello doesn't qualify for this and retains the status of "good pizzeria" for me.

Food and service were always very good. In summer the courtyard is very beautiful! Depending on the table, the restaurant can sometimes be a bit loud and echoey.

I don't know how someone comes up with five stars in the reviews and rates the food and ambience as good. Pizza is big but completely unseasoned and poorly topped. Pasta is far too little and also completely unseasoned and tastes like it was cooked by someone where there was none Had a clue.Sat in the dark courtyard and every half minute another waiter ran past the table cursing in Italian, completely uncomfortable, hectic, and there was no question of relaxing while eating.Wasted money, never going there again.

Very good pizza, with very very good quality-price ratio. I haven't tried many pizzas in Germany, but I thought this one was very good, for 10 euros you have a pizza that goes off the plate (large) and with quite a few ingredients (they are in short supply lately...). Several friends went and we all ordered the same thing, pizza castello, with a little of all the meats and for dessert a panna cotta with berries. Everything was very good, the pizza without burning the edges, large in size, thin dough and with a great content of ingredients and finally the dessert with its syrup/jam that was very delicious. In short, a place to eat well for little money.

Pizza was good, unfortunately the service wasn't. The waiter was very confident in himself and only made himself comfortable at the table after we made our presence known several times. That was the case when ordering, eating, reordering and paying........ The ambience was a little old........

Fine Italian cuisine, very attentive service, gladly again

The food itself is good by German-Italian standards, but nothing special. We were recently disappointed with the service. The staff quickly seem annoyed and don't particularly try to serve the customers appropriately. It's a shame, one less restaurant, some of which we enjoyed visiting.

The best pizzas there are. I travel a lot, but have never had a better tasting pizza (preferably Cipolle) in Germany or internationally. That's why I'm happy to have Castello at home :) Even after more than 24 years, it's still fantastic. Plus top service. Please keep it up!

Very nicely done with multiple rooms. The food was beautifully served and very tasty. Entrance is the same as for hotel if someone is going there for the first time. ) The only thing about the day, I hope it's not always like this, was that it was a little too warm in there.

Unfortunately not as good as it used to be! We were thrilled with the great pizzas for many years. Even as a vegan, because we order the pizza without cheese due to the lack of an alternative. The last few times we noticed that we were now saving on the vegetable topping. The garlic oil didn't help either; the pizza was so dry that it wouldn't slide anymore. It's a shame that at the same price without cheese, there are also savings on the vegetable topping. Sorry, but three small cauliflower florets and a slice of eggplant that was still almost raw, that's nothing compared to your previous pizzas...

Ate there again after a long time. We enjoyed it very much and the service was excellent 👍

Seit langem mal wieder abends zum Italiener Essen gegangen. Wir hatten vorne im Lokal einen schönen Tisch der uns vom sehr freundlichen Personal zugewiesen wurde. Wir begannen mit einem Aperitif ( Limoncello-Sprizz und Aperol-Sprizz) hatten sehr gute Vorspeisen und Nudelgerichte in verschiedenen Variationen als Hauptgericht. Abgerundet wurde das Ganze mit einer Nachspeise aus Tiramisu und Pannacotta. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend.

Leider nicht so wie erwartet. Kalb war zu dünn und trocken, die Pilze/Morcheln waren nicht frisch (evtl aus der Dose). Nachspeise war mit panna Cotta und Tiramisu auch durchschnittlich. Schade. Werde wahrscheinlich nicht mehr dort hin gehen.

Mittwoch ist Pizzatage - lecker und günstig. Im vorderen Bereich ist die Akkustik besser. Hinten ist eine Unterhaltung schwierig, wenn es voll ist. Im Sommer hat das Restaurant einen tollen, windstillen Innenhof. Wäre die Akkustik besser (schallabsorbierende Deckenpaneele) gäbe es auch für das Ambiente 5 Sterne. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Essen ist gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Extrem lange Wartezeit auf die Bestellung und dann auf das Essen.

Wir waren früher schon einmal hier, es lässt aber immer mehr nach. Zuletzt waren wir neulich mit einer größeren Gruppe dort. Das Personal war extrem genervt und unfreundlich. So etwas habe ich selten erlebt. Vom Augen verdrehen bis übers Anpampen der Gäste war alles dabei. Richtung Feierabend wurden wir und andere Gäste extrem unverschämt zum Zahlen und Gehen aufgefordert. Mir ist klar, dass jeder Feierabend machen will, aber es gibt einen Unterschied zwischen: wir müssen abrechnen, wir schließen bald und: jetzt könnt gefälligst vorne bezahlen. Mich persönlich sieht das Lokal nicht wieder. Schade, das Ambiente im Innenhof ist toll. Das Essen war Ok, aber früher ebenfalls besser.

Glücklicherweise hatten wir einen Tisch bestellt, das große Lokal war rappelvoll. Trotzdem aufmerksamer Service und das leckere Essen wurde zügig serviert. Punktabzug für den wahnsinnig hohen Lärmpegel, hat den Genuß enorm geschmälert :((

Local con varios comedores, siempre muy lleno, hacen lo imposible por acomodarnos somos un grupo de trabajadores desplazados españoles, sin problemas con el idioma, y mucho menos con la comida, una maravilla.

einwandfreie Italienische Küche - gerne wieder

Früher stand das Castello für mich für einen der besten Italiener in Ingolstadt, aber mittlerweile kann ich das nicht mehr bestätigen. Gerade die Erfahrung am Wochenende war sehr negativ. Die Ravioli haben wie TK Ravioli geschmeckt, die Pizza ok, aber nicht mehr als Durchschnitt und von der Bruschetta waren 2 von 4 Stücken komplett verbrannt. Keine Entschuldigung, kein Preisnachlass, im Gegenteil - abfälliges Kopfschütteln und wortlos den Teller weggetragen. War dann wohl unser letzter Besuch hier. Nur gegen die Location kann man nach wie vor nix sagen, die ist wirklich super.
