Ate at Castello again...and as always, it was absolutely delicious. Excellent, attentive service...great outdoor area in the summer...everything was great! The atmosphere inside is always lovely too...everyone is super friendly...thank you!

As guests at the Rappensberger Hotel, we naturally ate at the hotel's Ristorante Al Castello on our first evening in Ingolstadt. Unfortunately, there were no tables available on the terrace, and even sitting directly by the open window, we suffered from the heat. The service was fast and friendly, but more suited to the busy terrace. The shandy was a good mix and tasted good. The pizza with truffle and porcini mushrooms was clearly overloaded with cheese and practically swimming in olive oil. The flavor was quite good, though. The fresh pasta with porcini mushrooms and sausage, on the other hand, was excellent. Unfortunately, it was a bit too al dente. It required a good chew and felt a bit heavy on my stomach. The price was within normal range for a good Italian restaurant.

I've been to the Castello in Ingolstadt several times, and every time everything has been top-notch. The food is incredibly delicious, the restaurant is lovely and cozy, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!

It's a lovely courtyard. We were there on a warm summer evening. It's a lovely spot. No annoying music.

Ein authentischer Italiener mit super leckerem Essen und einer richtig guten Pizza mit knusprigen Teig und frischen Zutaten. Meiner Meinung nach ist das die beste Pizza Ingolstadts. Das Personal ist herzlich und aufmerksam, die Preise sind absolut fair. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen!

I've rarely eaten such good Italian pizza. I had water there with my family, and my wife's pizza was also perfect. It's great that there are still restaurants like this. Passionately cooked food paired with very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Extremely good food, would go back anytime.

We were already at Al Castello when it was still on the Ingobräu premises and we also come regularly to the Rappensberger premises. The pizzas are very tasty and the selection is large, and there are toppings that you can't find in every pizzeria. Antipasti also tasted very good, but the price was sometimes exorbitant. Unfortunately, the service quality varies from "passable" to "unquestionable", and that's the big sticking point here for me - a shame! Nevertheless, the restaurant is always full, reservations are highly recommended.

We love this restaurant very much😊. There is always room for a large group. The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is warm. Friendly and nice waiters who speak nice German with an Italian accent👍 The only downside is that parking is difficult. Maybe this is temporary while road construction is going on. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone as a regular!

The menus are placed on the table in packs. The children have delicious pizza, I have the fish plate. But two hours after eating, I can't get rid of the unpleasant smell of the fish. The squid and the fillet were not ok. Apparently not fresh. The three of us tasted the fish: it's not fresh! I had to leave it behind. Conclusion: despite communication to the kitchen and chef: no response. No liquor. NOTHING. I will never go there again!

After I often organize company-related meals, I found the Castello a perfect location where you can easily submit your reservation via the website. The staff is on top of their game, the food is surprisingly cheap as the ambience in the Rappensberger conveys a high-quality flair. The location is central on Hardestr. with two parking garages that are approximately the same distance away. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

We were here on a Thursday. Although the restaurant was very full, we received extremely friendly and courteous service. We were all very satisfied with the dishes we ordered. My pizza was very tasty. The prices are very cheap.

Restaurant very good...very full...staff very friendly and attentive. Buffalo mozzarella pizza eaten with salad was good. Dessert was supposed to be tiramisu but it was more of a cheap imitation of it. There was hardly any mascarpone, if any. More of a pure cream slice with spoonfuls. Not even a trace of Amaretto. Wife had three kinds of desserts that weren't a hit either, including Muse Chocolat. The only really good one was the lemon sorbet.

The food on site was very good. Pizzas are highly recommended. The rest of the food is sometimes a bit small and you should add an appetizer. Service is top. Drink prices are cheap The location itself is very large

Nice and large restaurant with lots of seats. It can get a bit noisy in the back. The food is delicious and there is something for every taste. The service was nice and attentive. The portions could be a little bigger.

By far the best pizza I've eaten in a long time - even though there are definitely good competitors here in Ingolstadt ;-) Excellent dough, optimally topped and the “seasoning basket” with salt, pepper and chili oil rounds off the taste perfectly. The selection of pizzas is also gigantic and is estimated to be over 30 different ones? Small suggestion for improvement: due to the sheer number of pizzas, perhaps a future version of the menu will provide a little more overview, e.g.: using small icons next to the pizza name, for vegetarians and pescatarians. So I have to spend a lot of time reading through every single ingredient.

Ich war das zweite Mal hier, doch leider konnte mich die Pizza wieder nicht überzeugen. Der Teig ist kompakt und nicht fluffig. Der Rand überhaupt nicht knusprig, sehr schwer zu essen. Dafür war das Essen wirklich sehr schnell auf dem Tisch und die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Leider hat mich die Nachspeise auch schwer enttäuscht, denn das Tiramisu wurde mit Sahne zubereitet und hat somit nichts mit Tiramisu für mich zu tun.

Very tasty food and very friendly and accommodating boss!

Unfortunately I was very disappointed: 1) Cucumber salad: cucumber slices with oil + dry herbs 😬 2) Pizza a la Chef: 4 very, very small piles of salami + pickled mushrooms & canned peppers. The best part was really just the dough. What kind of boss?😬 3) Chianti: way too cold and not tasty😬 ....unfortunately...

The pizza was very, very tasty and on pizza day the price was unbeatable. The staff is very friendly, although we weren't served until later in the hour and were left high and dry. Regarding the ambience: it was very crowded and therefore very loud. You could only talk to your immediate neighbors at the table. Great food, atmosphere could be more pleasant :)

I was in this beautiful city for the first time and I had lunch and dinner for 3 days at Al Castello because it really deserves that you taste the entire menu. From the pizza with a unique and very light taste because it has a long leavening and therefore very digestible, to the delicious first and second courses, all prepared with excellent quality raw materials and without surprises. Truly an Italian restaurant abroad that deserves 10 stars. The extremely polite staff and despite always being full of people (the reason goes without saying), they never lose attention to the customer. To conclude with the owners Maria and Silvano who are super kind and will always make you feel at home. A wonderful experience, I will return whenever I can.

I had to wait almost 2 hours for my pizza, but when I got it it tasted very good. Staff really stressed but still nice.

On the occasion of our daughter's wedding in June 2023, we experienced a professionally organized celebration here, with a very nice ambience, very good food and super friendly service. We are once again more than thrilled and happy to be here on the occasion of a lovely birthday party in September 2024. The Al Castello and also the Hotel Rappensberger are highly recommended, many thanks to the entire team

Nothing special. Well-known Italian cuisine and slightly "irritable" waiters. Unironed tablecloths and slow service.. Italian restaurant as you know it. I could still recommend it, overall okay.

Were there on Saturday at lunchtime (with reservation). The reserved table was too small for the number of people and had to be rescheduled. Appetizers were almost consumed before the drinks arrived. Food (pizza, pasta, salad) is really nothing special and pretty tasteless. The staff really shocked me: totally rude, disinterested and annoyed. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but this was really terrible. Eye rolls, annoyed tone of voice, drinks weren't put down, they were pushed into our hands and spilled in the process. I have no idea what to say about that :D

Ottima pasta , pizza perfetta, sapori italiani, servizio veloce e garbato. Davvero consigliato, anche per il prezzo (meno di 50€ due piatti di pasta, una pizza due bibite e una birra). Chi vuole provare il cibo italiano qui non resterà deluso!

As a restaurant critic 🥸 I have to say that I personally prefer the pizza at L'Osteria, but the atmosphere there is anything but pleasant. You sit close to strangers, which significantly detracts from the overall experience. In contrast, Al Castello offers a much more spacious space. Here you can feel like royalty as the tables are several meters apart. As for the pizza at Al Castello, I would rate it a solid 6.8 out of 10 – so not outstanding, but definitely passable. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves what is more important to them: the taste or the ambience. As with so many things in life, it is a question of priorities and decisions.

Once and never again. I was here in 2023, I ordered a pizza with shrimp, I got a totally soft, anything but crispy dough with 4 shrimp on top. The beer I ordered was empty when the food was delivered. I wanted to order a new one, so I was referred to my colleague, but he didn't come near for the next 30 minutes. So pizza bad, service bad. 90% of all Italians in Ingolstadt can do better. Addendum: A sports friend of mine was there at the weekend. I asked him for his unbiased opinion (it could have been that I was just having a bad day). Unfortunately it's exactly the same for him. His Pizza Funghj didn't even have a whole mushroom on the dough, which was also completely soggy. When clearing away the waiter banged the plates together so much that the sauce splashed on the guests. So same song, food disaster, service too. Save yourself the visit!

We really enjoy eating pizza there. But there are also excellent fish dishes that are professionally presented at the table.

The best pizzas (by far) in all of Ingolstadt. Yesterday there were only two of us, but again we had an excellent meal and, unlike many other restaurants (which will be surprised when there are no guests), it was still good value for money. The crucial question: more expensive prices => fewer and fewer guests or cheaper prices => more and more guests. Nevertheless, there is one point of criticism. Instead of an affogatto (with espresso) that I ordered, they brought me a coffee as an affogatto and neither of us (my wife drank too) couldn't fall asleep the whole night :-( By the way, we are a large multicultural group of 12-18 people and go out to eat every Wednesday throughout the Ingolstadt area. The Castello is our recommendation for delicious Italian cuisine.

The service is very nice and friendly: quick service, always available; the waiters are always looking around and ready to serve. The food could be better though: I suggest to add more cheese, and also to work on the taste of the chicken (I had the impression it was cooked several time; it could have a better taste.) However, the plate was not that bad. The restaurant is located in the city center of Ingolstadt; the atmosphere is fine: not perfect but also not bad. The overall experience was ok.

I don't know how someone comes up with five stars in the reviews and rates the food and ambience as good. Pizza is big but completely unseasoned and poorly topped. Pasta is far too little and also completely unseasoned and tastes like it was cooked by someone where there was none Had a clue.Sat in the dark courtyard and every half minute another waiter ran past the table cursing in Italian, completely uncomfortable, hectic, and there was no question of relaxing while eating.Wasted money, never going there again.

Very good pizza, with very very good quality-price ratio. I haven't tried many pizzas in Germany, but I thought this one was very good, for 10 euros you have a pizza that goes off the plate (large) and with quite a few ingredients (they are in short supply lately...). Several friends went and we all ordered the same thing, pizza castello, with a little of all the meats and for dessert a panna cotta with berries. Everything was very good, the pizza without burning the edges, large in size, thin dough and with a great content of ingredients and finally the dessert with its syrup/jam that was very delicious. In short, a place to eat well for little money.

Pizza was good, unfortunately the service wasn't. The waiter was very confident in himself and only made himself comfortable at the table after we made our presence known several times. That was the case when ordering, eating, reordering and paying........ The ambience was a little old........
