The two of us sat outside for lunch. Quiet location in a very nice square, delicious food (dessert - also visually great!) with reasonable prices for a restaurant in this league. Friendly service… clear recommendation

We were looking forward to a lovely evening in this restaurant. Unfortunately, the start didn't go well: although the weather was great, tables were set outside and we had made reservations outside, we were told that eating inside was only possible today. Not really customer oriented from my point of view but it was fine. The service at the nice place at the counter was friendly and tried hard, but seemed very overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the advice on white was poor. When something was wrong with the food and it wasn't addressed at all, we thought we were in the wrong film. One course even had to be completely reversed and we were offered something else, nor was there even a response to it. Absolute no go in a restaurant with gourmet ambitions. The waitress at the bar was probably the only one who noticed that something was wrong and then mixed us two cocktails that were really world class. I would like to give it 5 stars for that alone. Unfortunately, for the terrible service and the mediocre food, more than 3 in total are not possible.

Restaurant is very, very nicely located, no annoying cars in front of the restaurant! The staff was very friendly and accommodating, not played like in many restaurants. The veal meatball is very tasty and very juicy. The price is also completely OK For the main course we had Himmel and Äd The mashed potatoes were very good. The black pudding is firm to the bite but still slightly juicy. Apples lie on top of the mashed potatoes. 30€ for the portion size is completely justified. Unfortunately only 4 out of 5 stars for the food, as my black pudding was unfortunately very dry, but the restaurant manager/somelier immediately came to meet me. It can always happen. The wine list is consistent and not too excessive. We'll definitely be back.

This is one of the few restaurants in cologne that hit the sweet spot of elegant but not too posh. The style feels fancy and yet relaxed. The food is delicious but not pretentious nor expensive. Service was really kind to us, giving us the quiet and comfy booth in the back, and they were checking on us all the time to see if we needed anything. Would recommend without hesitation.

Very nice place in a calm area and very nice Ambiente. Service is always excellent as also meals. They have also good selection on wines and make cocktails with some special touch.

We ate here for the second time now and were very satisfied both times. There are super delicious cocktails (and maybe take a Sippsert instead of dessert for dessert!) The food is of a high standard. The veal meatballs are amazing, the mashed potatoes are good and the black pudding itself is good, but not exceptional. The service was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely come back again.

Five of us dined at La Fonda yesterday. Very good service, good wine selection and the food also impressed us. It's particularly nice to sit on the terrace in summer. If you want to eat well and in peace in Cologne, this is the right place for you.

Overpriced and the portion size of the starter was outrageously small! For larger groups (10 people) a very limited choice of food. Just the right thing for Ms. Schicki and Mr. Micki.

My favorite restaurant in Cologne 🫶🏻 The food (and also the non-alcoholic drinks) is a delight, but I would especially like to praise the excellent service! The last visit was on 7/23/24, unfortunately I don't have the name of the fantastic waiter. When making the reservation, I stated my gluten intolerance and allergies and the service employee assigned to us was well briefed and very attentive. His recommendations that evening (Seibling with pearl barley, gnocchi) were excellent and I would like to express my thanks.

It was a wonderful surprise to arrive from Italy and find such a good restaurant. At first we were a little uncertain because the minus seemed wrong. We ordered a bit of everything. The very fresh fish The balance of the dish is crazy... the perfect combination of ingredients seems 5 Michelin stars. Each dish was a wonderful surprise. I don't like sweets but they make you love them A masterpiece to discover together with your palate... go crazy. Impeccable service Vast choice on the wine list. Ambience and service are good. Food was disappointing for me - the gnocchi was particularly bland in taste. The price is also relatively expensive. €8.80 for a bottle of water is cheeky.

We had a very tasty and relaxing evening. Attentive service, fantastic food and an all-round successful evening that can be repeated. Thank you! It's lovely to sit outside with a view of Gereon's Monastery (the chairs aren't really comfortable, but you get a blanket). It's a bit noisy inside, but a nice atmosphere with a great, long bar.

A nice atmosphere, quiet, very courteous staff, sometimes a bit overly friendly, but the chairs are a disaster for such a place. At least on the outside. They are uncomfortable, cold and noisy when moved. The menu has featured the classics for years, plus a few new dishes. You could work on that. The prices for the main courses have become very high, but you also get to sit together with a small, fine circle of people (many from the media industry).

With friends - tip from friends - first visit in 08/2020, now in 06/2024 another visit with (other) friends. Unfortunately due to the rainy weather it was indoors this time. Outdoor also has something because of the great location in front of the Gereonskirche and the “free space”... Conclusion: I can “speak” for both visits…. Top service, attentive, friendly and professional..., very nice ambience and above all: innovative menu with regional character, very tasty and delicately seasoned dishes with good presentation on the plate. We, our friends, were extremely satisfied. The fact that there was a “Kölsch” as an aperitif is not the norm in the gastronomy of this standard. The wine list shows selected wines, including one or two “high-priced” wines. Bottle. Heiland - Espresso was excellent, I haven't had such a delicious espresso in a restaurant for a long time. The only (small) point of criticism on my part: the volume The selection of “background music” should be a little more subtle because good food also has a lot to do with good “accompanying conversations”… Gladly again, an interesting and good restaurant in a very pleasant atmosphere.

The restaurant “La Fonda” offers an exceptional culinary experience in a luxurious yet inviting ambience. The excellent service, exquisite cuisine and fine wine selection make it a perfect place for special occasions. I can fully recommend “La Fonda” and am already looking forward to my next visit.

Very good service from Alessandro, food and cocktails were great, we would like to come back!

First of all: the food was very tasty. Our waitress treated us in a very demeaning and unfriendly manner, which didn't leave us feeling good. For example, it didn't seem right that we didn't want to drink alcohol. When we politely asked which of the dishes on the menu could be made vegan, the waiter replied snidely that he could pick apart any dish until it was vegan. All in all, we are a bit surprised because this restaurant was advertised as vegan-friendly. Unfortunately there is only 1 vegan dish on the entire menu. All other dishes can be veganized by omitting ingredients accordingly. Unfortunately, this doesn't change the price.

We came with a group for dinner and enjoyed our evening. The food was great, everyone loved the steak tartare. My lamb was great and everyone enjoyed their main courses. The wine selection was good, and their cocktails were very well made. We so much enjoyed their sea salt espresso martini that we ended up having a bunch of them. Delicious! The atmosphere was great and service attentive. Would certainly return.

Our waiter was unpleasantly overconfident and didactic. 2 desserts are very few. The question about cheesecake could have been answered politely by pointing out that only a limited menu is available for groups of 8 or more people. But no, I was asked in an aggressive tone whether I wanted to discuss the kitchen's capacity. When my colleague couldn't decide straight away, he left angrily, saying he'd come back later when she finally knew what she wanted. If you leave around €1,000, everything has to be right. In the end we agreed that we would go to the eight next time. Actually nicely decorated; Unfortunately we sat in front of the toilet.

I didn't know that there was still an upscale restaurant in Cologne. First class food/advice/kitchen/service etc, absolutely 👍👍👍👍👍 TOP. A restaurant manager named Stefan served us, we can only say, FIRST CLASS, highly recommended. Since NOT everyone can afford to pay these prices, this is one of the most pleasant restaurants where you won't be begged or harassed by beggars while you eat. . I didn't even know that a restaurant like this still existed in Cologne. There the guest is "in the truest sense of the word" still king " THANKS to the staff working there today.

I recently had the pleasure of having dinner at La Fonda restaurant in Cologne and it was an excellent experience. The meal started with a portion of meatballs that were perfectly seasoned and wonderfully juicy. For the main course I chose the cauliflower, which was not only visually appealing but also tasted convincing. The preparation was excellent, with a pleasant texture and just the right amount of spices to bring out the natural flavor of the vegetables. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more pleasant. Overall, La Fonda offers a great atmosphere with delicious food - a real recommendation for anyone looking for a tasty meal in Cologne.

Went to "La Fonda" for the first time today - walked by often; but never managed it so far. And that was a mistake. Really unreservedly recommended; great courteous service, excellent cuisine - perfectly prepared and a wonderful pleasure. This time it was "just" lunch - next time we visit we'll stay longer! Wir waren letzte Woche Freitag mit 6 Personen im La Fonda. Im Dezember 2023 waren wir zu 2. schon mal da und hatten eine guten Eindruck. Leider ist der gute Eindruck vom Dezember dann nicht bestätigt worden. Das Essen war eine Katastrophe. Vorspeise Krabbencocktail, der Toast mit Mayonnaise Eisbergsalat und Krabben war. Die Hauptspeise war das Steak (Medium Rare bestellt) und Well Done bekommen. Als Nachtisch hatte ich die Creme Bruelee. Die war eher wie Vanille Pudding ohne flambierten Zucker. Der Service war komplett überfordert und hat sich kaum für uns interessiert, außer als bei der Bezahlung kein Trinkgeld gegeben wurde. Da hat man mal nachgefragt. Ist dann halt auch was zu spät. Qualität der Gericht und der Service stehen in keinem Verhältnis zu den Preisen, die da abgerufen werden. Sehr schade, da das Ambiente sehr schön im La Fonda ist. Wir werden nicht mehr ins La Fonda gehen.

A very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The starters were good and the sommelier also recommended well. The main course was actually quite tasty, although the cauliflower was bland. But then unfortunately something happened that should never happen in a restaurant: a hair in the food! The plate was cleared and we thought the case was over. But then the waiter actually presented us with the corpus delicti again on a saucer and said that the hair had grown into the parsley or was part of it! Apparently to prove it didn't come from the kitchen staff? After this impressive demonstration right at the table, my companion also lost her appetite and stopped eating. We then enjoyed the Creme Brulee, which was again good, but unfortunately the overall impression was spoiled.

Very warm welcome and the escort to the table was professional! The waiter did an excellent job and the food was excellent! I'll be back!!!

Seit längere Zeit wollte ich La Fonda ausprobieren weil ich fast jeden Tag dort vorbei gehe und dachte das es eine gehobene Restaurant ist. Ja leider möchte gern. Das erste Eindruck für den Kunden fängt an wie Mann empfangen wird und hier war es sehr plump man fühlte sich nicht willkommen ob wohl es noch sehr leer war. Das was ich gegessen habe hat mir geschmeckt nur musste lange überlegen was ich essen sollte das Auswahl für Abend war sehr wenig.Das Ambiente ich weiß nicht wenn man in Reihen Sitz wie in der Kantine direkt bei den Nachbar Tisch und rechts von der Fenster eine Kälte Zug mir schaffen machte so ganz toll ist… im ganzen kann man es ausprobieren und wenn man viel Wein trinkt und 500 € hin legt denke wird man auch besser behandelt.Ich werde noch mal im Sommer den tollen aussen Teressa ausprobieren wo man auch in Reihen sitzt.

Schöne Location, feierlich eingedeckt Aber Es ist sehr laut, wir mussten sehr lange auf unsere Bestellung der Getränke als auch auf die Getränke selber warten. Unser Tisch war direkt vor der Toilette, was sehr unappetitlich ist. Eine Dose Sardinen auf einem kleinen Teller anzubieten mag vlt. witzig sein, aber für 13 EUR ein Wucher.

Tolles Essen, schönes Ambiente, perfekter Service. Das war nicht mein letzter Besuch. Da ich kein Kölsch trinke war als einziges Pils aber leider nur Warsteiner da ...puh, Pest oder Cholera. Holt Euch bitte noch ein leckeres Pils auf die Karte, denn der Rest bei Euch war, wie oben beschrieben, perfekt!

Fine-Dining in einer lockeren Atmosphäre. Regionaler Bezug. Einfach, ehrlich, köstlich. Preise sind gehoben. Was für Fine-Dining-Mäuse oder einen besonderen Anlass. Es lohnt sich.

Die Gerichte waren sehr gut zubereitet. Ich empfand die Preise als etwas zu hoch, auch wenn die Qualität zweifellos sehr gut war. Ein Punkt, der meine Gesamterfahrung etwas beeinträchtigt hat, war allerdings der Service. Obwohl das Personal höflich war, fehlte mir das gewisse Extra an Aufmerksamkeit und Hingabe, das ich in einem Restaurant dieser Klasse erwartet hätte. Trotzdem war mein Gesamteindruck positiv, und ich habe den Abend genossen. Mit etwas mehr Fokus auf das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und einen Hauch mehr Service-Aufmerksamkeit könnte dieses Restaurant jedoch ein wirklich herausragendes Erlebnis bieten.

Went there with a group of 9 and despite the food being good I was very disappointed with a few things. To start with the positive part, the food was great, even though the venison and frittata lacked some flavour, specifically salt. However, what really bothered me was the little attention and accomodating the staff showed us. One person from the group is gluten-intolerant, when asking about one of the dishes, he told her it was gluten-free, insisting barley doesn't have gluten which is incorrect. For somebody highly allergic this can turn out very dangerous and is very irresponsible from the waiter. We then had to wait 45 minutes for the starter and over 1 hour for the main dish. Additionally, it was nearly impossible to catch the attention of a waiter to order more bread/water. I sat with my back to the side door which was opened frequently while food was brought out to the hotel next door, leaving ice-cold air inside which was anything but comfortable during the evening. When it came to dessert, I was disappointed to see that from all of the amazing options the menu has to offer, for groups the choice was limited to ice-cream and creme brulee. When I asked about potentially ordering the pralines that were on the normal menu, I was told it would be difficult as we're a group. When I questioned this as the pralines should be ready anyways and don't require preparation, I was told he would ask in the kitchen. When he then came back to take the order, he didn't seem to have asked and just said, slightly upset by my request, that it's not possible. I really don't understand this kind of treatment in a high class restaurant and was very disappointed by the overall service.

Ein gutes Restaurant mit tollem Service. Das Essen war schön angerichtet und hat gut geschmeckt. Bei vollbesetzten Tischen war es etwas laut.

Das Ambiente ist toll, der Service sehr aufmerksam und nett. Leider war das Steak Frites, das ich hatte nicht sehr zart sondern eher zäh. Ein anderer Cut wäre sehr wünschenswert.

Das Essen und Ambiente sind perfekt. Leider passt die Cocktail Qualität nicht ganz zum Gesamtbild. Bei beiden besuchen hat leider die Abstimmung zwischen süße und Säure nicht gestimmt und manche Cocktails schwer trinkbar gemacht.

Das Essen war schon recht gut, was man bei den gehobenen Preisen auch erwarten können sollte. Trotzdem stimmte das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis nicht ganz. Der Service war mäßig, so kamen 6 verschiedene Kellner an unseren Tisch, wir wurden aber nach der ersten Bestellung kein weiteres mal nach Getränkewünschen gefragt und saßen bis nach dem Essen, als wir aktiv den Kellner ordneten auf dem Trocknen. Auch sollte man viel Zeit einplanen, da wir eineinhalb Stunden auf unser Essen warteten, was wohl an den anderen Tischen auch der Fall war. Bedienung war sonst freundlich.

Wir hatten eine tollen Abend dort, tolle Lage, sehr gute Küche, erkälteten Kellner, und leckeren Wein, man muss nur ein prall gefülltes Portemonnaie mitnehmen

Espectacular, increíble, una locura para todos los sentidos. Una maravilla tanto en el sabor como en el aroma de los platos. Servicio exquisito, atento y servicial. Ambiente súper agradable, música de ambiente acogedora. Sin duda una maravilla de sitio y muy recomendable.

Mittlerweile mein Lieblingsrestaurant und ein Pflichtbesuch, wenn ich in Köln bin. Tolles Ambiente, hervorragender Service und das Essen begeistert mich jedes Mal.

Das La Fonda ist ein gehobenes Restaurant auf einem schönen ruhigen Platz mitten in Köln. Drinnen ist es schön eingerichtet und es gibt eine Aussenterasse. Draußen die Tische sehen ansprechend aus, leider sind die Stühle etwas kühl und unbequem. Ich habe aber eine Decke erhalten und somit war alles dann in Ordnung. Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Gute Weinkarte und der Mango-Chili Margherita ist spitze. Ich habe als Vorspeise Himmel und Äd (ca 17€) und als Hauptgericht der Thunfisch (ca39€) bestellt und es war wirklich sehr lecker und sehr ansprechend angerichtet. Kleiner Abzug, wir haben wohl eine Karte erhalten mit alten Preisen, auf dem Kassenbon waren alle Posten jeweils mit 1-2€ mehr aufgeschlagen. Eine Reservierung ist zu empfehlen. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

leckeres Essen, überraschend schnell serviert - schien aber trotzdem frisch zu sein. Eigentlich tolles Ambiente, allerdings passen die Metallstühle im Außenbereich ohne Kissen nicht so ganz dazu. Das Personal war freundlich, hätte aber aufmerksamer sein müssen. Wir mussten schon wie in der Schule einen Arm heben, um wahrgenommen zu werden - dezente Ansprachen oder Fingerzeig, wie eigentlich bei vergleichbaren Lokalitäten üblich, waren leider erfolglos. Das führt letztlich auch zur Abwertung.

Tolles, außergewöhnliches Restaurant mit einer außergewöhnlichen Speisekarte. Etwas hochpreisig, aber geschmacklich ein Hochgenuss.

Der Herr am Empfang hatte ein schreckliches Benehmen, sehr unsympathisch und arrogant. Haben uns nicht wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

Essen war sehr gut aber limitiert falls man mit einer Gruppe mit mehr als 4 Personen erscheint. Also es besteht dann nicht die Möglichkeit aus dem normalen Menü zu bestellen wie jeder andere Gast was meiner Meinung nach unangebracht und unpassend ist ohne Kompromissbereitschaft. Der ungenügende Service ist leider der Grund warum ich diese Rezension schreiben muss. Zunächst einmal hat der Kellner sich weder vorgestellt noch einen guten Appetit gewünscht. Außerdem wurde komplett vom gesamten Team außer Acht gelassen dass es sich um einen Geburtstag handelt obwohl es bei der Reservierung angegeben war und auch an der Tür sowie telefonisch nochmal deutlich darauf hingewiesen wurde. Das ständige Augenrollen vom Kellner und verwechseln von Bestellungen lässt einen dann auch nur noch verwundert zurück. Schade denn eigentlich ist die Qualität der Speisen und Getränke 1A

Sehr gutes Essen, aber Service war holprig. Ständig was fallen gelassen, Getränke vergessen, aber Personal war immer sehr freundlich. Am besten nicht hungrig dort hingehen, ansonsten ist der Magen nicht befriedigt. Champagner, Wein und der Gin Basil waren ausgezeichnet.

Unfortunately we had an extremely bad experience at La Fonda. We reserved a table in advance and specifically asked to have a table outside as we were with a toddler. Upon arrival the manager/host absolutely insisted to not sit us outside (although they were free tables). His attitude was extremely hostile and the absolute opposite of client oriented. Not only this, but his remarks were also shockingly smag and xenophobic as he told me (we spoke German and I am a foreigner) that: "in Deutschland machen wir solche Sachen anders". The food and atmosphere were good, but with such a service and xenophobic attitude I will never set a food close to this restaurant.

Just had the an incredibly memorable meal last night at La Fonda. We ordered the fish and the steak and they were perfection. The service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere lovely (a tad loud, so it’s not a place to have a whispered conversation, but it was energizing)! I will be back again soon!

The food was beyond delicious. As a starter I had some delicious asparagus cream soup (I don’t think I had some better one before). My main dish was cooked just perfectly. The meat was tender and the pasta al dente. This is such a great location to have some great food and wine 🍷

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, La Fonda in Köln zu besuchen. Das Restaurant ist gehoben und bietet eine übersichtliche Karte mit einigen vegetarischen und veganen Alternativen. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Eine Reservierung wird empfohlen, da das Restaurant oft ausgebucht ist. Die Preise sind jedoch vergleichsweise hoch.

Elegantes Restaurant im höherpreisigen Bereich. Wird gerne auch für Business Einladungen und ähnliches genutzt. Sehr gute Qualität, auch die Klassiker bringen stets etwas Besonderes mit. Weine kommen aus ganz verschiedenen Welten, kein italienischer Schwerpunkt. Die Beratung war allerdings wirklich schlecht, es kam der falsche Jahrgang, aber ohne Hinweis, "der schmeckt mir" und "mit dem macht man nichts falsch" stellt man sich bei dem Niveau ein Armutszeugnis aus. Der Service insgesamt war im Detail verbesserungswürdig, aber bemüht. Ein weiterer schöner, aber teurer Abend.

Lieblingsintaliener, hier stimmt für mich einfach alles.

Restaurant in excellenter Lage im Gereonshof mit schönem Innenhof. Bei schönen Wetter kann man das sicherlich mit den großen Fenstern noch mehr genießen. Aufmerksamer aber nicht aufdringlicher Service. Sehr schöner Abend bei gutem Essen, Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis grundsätzlich in Ordnung mit Ausnahme Dessert ( selbst gemachte Pralinen 3 1/2 !!!) waren das Geld leider nicht wert.

Ein cool eingerichtetes Restaurant in bester Lage, aber das zählt ja nicht. Wir waren letzen Samstag mit 3 Personen da, leider reichte unser Hunger nicht für eine Vorspeise, da haben wir sicher etwas verpasst, holen wir beim nächsten mal nach. Die Hauptspeisen 2 x Pulpo und krosser Schweinebauch, 1 x dry aged Filet, beide Hauptgänge sensationell. Die Desserts waren ebenfalls perfekt und nicht alltäglich. Abgerundet wurde der Abend durch den superfreundlichen und aufmerksamen Service, danke an das ganze Team, der Abend war jeden € mehr als wert. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr gutes Essen, Ambiente ist unschlagbar und auch das Publikum ist angenehm. Einzig der Service könnte besser sein, kürzere Wartezeiten bei den Getränken.

Boa comida. Demasiado barulhento

Einen unbeschreiblich schönen Abend mit Freunden und ausgezeichnetem Essen verbracht. Es stimmte alles. Service, Empfehlungen der Servicemitarbeiter und das Essen. Einziger Nachteil: Es war sehr laut im Restaurant. Der Geräuschpegel nahm zu....die Gäste unterhielten sich lauter, da die Musik keine Hintergrundmusik mehr war. Dies ist mir allerdings erst am Ende unseres Besuchs als Erklärung bewusst geworden, sonst hätte ich die Mitarbeiter darauf aufmerksam gemacht. Wir möchten wiederkommen 😀
