La Esperanza Restaurant Tapas Bar in Berlin

Small tapas restaurant but with the best tapas quality I have had since my trip to Spain. Loved the food a lot. Would always recommend to my friends.

No bargain but very tasty tapas. Unfortunately no Spanish draft beer.

We were there for the first time today and we were immediately amazed by you!! A really nice, cozy atmosphere. Although it seemed cramped, you still sat relaxed at the neighboring tables. The menu has an incredibly great variety and each of the 5 of us found something delicious for ourselves - which brings us to the main feature: We were all constantly blown away by how delicious every single dish was! And the crowning glory was our very personable, friendly and courteous waiter Karrar, who gave us a great evening. Thank you very much! 🫶🏼 So in short: we would love to come back soon and have already made reservations and are looking forward to trying all the other dishes on your menu. 😋🥰

It was really suspicious that this place has raring 5.0. But it deserves it 😊 The food is delicious. The service and the atmosphere is really nice. They accept card payment. And speak English 2025 update: still delicious

A really great restaurant, despite the very touristy location near Friedrichstrasse! The service was incredibly friendly and attentive and the dishes are very tasty and especially the main courses are sumptuous. The tapas are quite expensive, but you should still try them.

The food is very tasty!! 6 tapas for €32 with bread will fill you up well. 2xwine and 2xdessert cost the same again. But they were worth the price! The restaurant is definitely recommended.

We loved the tapas. It is important to reserve a table, since the place is usually very busy. We went to celebrate our uncles' anniversary and, after telling the staff, they prepared a piece of cake with a candle. The service was super attentive, shout out to the Cuban waiter who served us! 100% recommended.

I went there with friends around 2 weeks ago. The service is good and in general the atmosphere is also quite nice. It’s cozy and comfortable. What I was a bit disappointed is the food. I came with high expectations because of the high ratings in google maps. We ordered several warm and cold tapas plus a paella. Apart from the shrimps and pimientos de padron that are quite alright. The rest are in general a bit tasteless. We were also quite surprised with the size of the paella, compared to the price.

I'm not a tapas expert but I enjoyed it, there was an extensive selection and everything came to the table at the same time. Service was also good, we had very nice service, if you're unlucky the service may not speak German. I found the atmosphere a bit too dark, the placement didn't work out so well, the table where we wanted to sit still had the previous things. We then had to swap the space we got because it was already reserved for others. In the end we sat at the table we wanted. Since the place is relatively small, it gets quite loud when it's full. You should definitely reserve a table for the evening.

Before our visit to the Friedrichstadt Palast we wanted to go out for dinner. The tapas restaurant was nearby and impressed us with its food. The service staff was very friendly, everything was tasty.

From the outside it's an inconspicuous restaurant. Tried it after looking at the Google review. Then I ate my best tapas so far, which were served by very good and attentive service. If I lived in Berlin I would eat here regularly.

Cozy and inviting Spanish tapas restaurant in the heart of Berlin. The atmosphere is warm and authentic. The menu offers a wide selection of classic and modern tapas. The main courses are also very tasty and large portions are served. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They take the time to explain the dishes and make recommendations. The service is quick and efficient, which makes the visit very pleasant.

Best tapas in Germany that I have eaten so far. But there are also trips to the Mexican cantina. Overall, great shop. 😍

Friendly staff and good food. It's just that it's very tight there. You can hardly move. When you have to go to the toilet, you always bump into the guest at the next table.

Amazing tapas. The calamari rings were a little overcooked though, but they were still good. The service was a bit confusing and somewhat slow. We ordered some water at one waiter. while we decided what tapas we wanted. Then, another waiter came to us, coughed almost right in our faces with his vape in hand, and asked if we wanted something to drink. We told him about the water, and he left. Very shortly after, the first waiter came out to take our order, and we told him his colleague was just here. He then asked if he brought the water, to which we answered that he didn’t. He sighed and apologised. We then asked for a couple more minutes to decide on the food, and he took that very seriously apparently. We sat waiting for around 10 minutes before he came back. When we finally ordered and got our food shortly after, the bread we were promised was missing, and came 10 minutes after the rest of the food. Despite this, we had a pleasant experience with overall nice and friendly staff as well as good food. When we revisit Berlin, we will likely eat there again.

Spanish food and tapas in Berlin style.....he he he he. ABUNDANT dishes (with 1 serving you eat 2), very attentive service and attended in Spanish (cook and waiter originally from Cuba), as well as the menu. They served us at 10:30 p.m., our flight arrived at 9:30 p.m. to Berlin and we already thought that we weren't going to be able to have anything decent for dinner...(open until 11:00 p.m.) without problems, which was very appreciated with the schedules Europeans.

Very attentive staff, super delicious food and a really large selection. We had 8 different tapas and they all tasted excellent. Bread was included free of charge! The location at the street intersection is perhaps a little noisier, but when the bar is busy and full in the evening, you can almost only hear the other guests and less the traffic. The interior is very nice and the smaller outdoor area is inviting and cozy 😊👌🏻

We came here for dinner very late in the evening (11pm) after an interminably long session. We received a very friendly welcome. When we asked whether there was anything to eat so late, we were told that we could of course still eat with them in peace. We ordered 10 different tapas for 3 people, which were plentiful and all very tasty. The open red wine was also very good. The service was extremely friendly and the bill was well below our expectations. Bravo, I can fully recommend the restaurant!

A really incredibly good tapas bar, all the tapas were of great quality and a decent size, the prices are absolutely okay and the taste was a dream, we were all thrilled, the service had fun at work and was totally attentive, it went quickly and didn't take long Waiting time - we can only recommend it.

We had a lovely evening, the host spontaneously provided us with a seat, we were able to order straight away and the food was fantastic and plentiful. Great cocktails and delicious drinks. Highly recommended and thank you very much.

La Esperanza is an absolute gem! We ordered 6 tapas, and every single one was fabulous. The ribs were a highlight – a huge portion with an incredible taste, and even the potatoes were delicious. The chili con carne, although technically a soup, was hearty enough to serve as a main course, perfectly spiced with just the right amount of kick. We also had a 50cl sangria, which was exquisite and paired wonderfully with the meal. The service was top-notch; our waiter was super friendly and gave excellent recommendations. Overall, an amazing dining experience. Highly recommend!

Super tasty Spaniard with natural friendliness and fast but relaxed service and modern but classic cuisine. After we were there as tourists to eat tapas the day before yesterday, I absolutely had to try the paëlla today and experienced a "revelation"! The best Valenciana in ages! Everything on it and inside that belongs: mussels and cockles, crabs, fish. Chicken, peas etc and saffron rice at its best A great dining experience at a very fair price (just under €60 for two including several drinks)!

We were looking for something in the area at short notice and were there for the first time yesterday. Even though it was Saturday, around 7:30 p.m., we still got a table inside. Due to the heat, all the tables outside were occupied. But it would also have been too loud for us (a lot of traffic at the intersection). We decided on the 6 variations (i.e. a selection of 6 tapas warm or cold). The record costs €31.90, the photos in the reviews at €25.90 are out of date. The individual prices are 5.90 and 6.90 respectively, so you can get away with the record well. There is a piece of paper with the card on which you can mark the individual tapas. This makes ordering very easy. The tapas came after about 15 minutes and were all very tasty. It was served with fresh, dark bread and two bowls of aioli (I'm not a huge fan of garlic but it was delicious). Card payment was possible. Overall, clear recommendation.

Of course it's a little more comfortable than on a busy street, but the shop is really worth a visit. We only chose from the tapas and they were excellent.

The only point deducted is for the aioli that was ordered - it was very tasty but the bowl was unfortunately very tiny. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant and come here again myself.

Great food for very fair prices. Nice and comfortable atmosphere, which allows you to relax and enjoy your visit even though the restaurant is located on the corner of a busy street. Parking is a problem, but you have good public transportation connections.

I wrote an honest review about the food and because it was low it was removed on the grounds that I had been slandered. They probably ask Google to remove all bad reviews, that's why they have a high rating. I will write again that I didn't like the food here. As a Spanish woman, I think I know what good Spanish food is. I was there and I didn't like it. The quality of the ingredients, the friendliness of the service and the quality of the oil could be improved. This is not defamation, but clear, constructive criticism. It's a flavor we became addicted to after trying it once. The warmth, the variety in the menu, the kindness of the employees, especially Mr. Zafer's attention every time we come, are very good. I recommend it to everyone.

In dit wat alternatief uitziend restaurant hebben we uitzonderlijk lekkere Spaanse tapa's gegeten, gevolgd door een smakelijke paella. Top. Ook de wijn en service was op dezelfde lijn. En dit voor een heel bescheiden prijs.
