La Commedia Pizzeria Restaurant in Nürnberg

We went to this restaurant based on the good reviews, but unfortunately, the visit was more of a hassle than a pleasure. One of the pizzas we ordered was undercooked in the middle, the dough was completely soggy, and the bottom was still very pale. We complained and ordered a different pizza. When the bill arrived, we were then expected to pay for the undercooked pizza, with the justification that we had eaten some of it (the replacement pizza was cheaper). We had to argue with the waiter, which is completely unacceptable. Before that, we had already had a discussion with the woman clearing the table. She had placed a leftover piece of another pizza on the plate with the takeaway pizza by hand. Absolutely appalling! Why would anyone put the remains of another pizza on a takeaway plate? She didn't understand at all that we were upset about this and ignored us for the rest of our visit. In short: It's actually a nice restaurant, but the service is beyond terrible. We also ordered two espressos that still hadn't arrived after 20 minutes… That's a shame, especially since we were made to feel like it was our own fault. The waiter didn't even speak to us when we pointed out the problems while we were paying. This definitely needs improvement, unless the restaurant is only friendly to its regulars. Because that's what we observed – it was like a two-tier system. 😤

Delicious, but the portions are way too big. No normal person could finish that. Better to charge 2-3 euros less and get smaller pizzas.

A truly authentic Italian restaurant – well, almost! The service was much friendlier than in Italy ❤️ The pizza was top-notch, the espresso was perfect, and the atmosphere was lovely. Suitable for groups, but they don't offer salads at lunchtime, so unfortunately you just have to order one of their delicious pizzas – we really enjoyed it.

This restaurant seems to be frequently overbooked. Guests are constantly leaving because they're obviously taking far too many reservations for the number of tables available. We also left after waiting for over 30 minutes. A definite no from me!

This was our first time here with a group... here are my impressions: Parking is available on site. The menu is varied and the prices are perfectly reasonable. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, even though it wasn't busy. Everyone really enjoyed the food; the Italian restaurant is especially known for its pizza. The atmosphere is nice and bright. Card payment is also accepted. What I found somewhat lacking was the service. In my opinion, the menus were taken away very quickly, and the tables were also cleared relatively quickly, and items were packed in boxes for takeaway upon request. Overall, however, I recommend it.

I can only echo what others have said. People are leaving the restaurant in droves, as there seem to be twice as many reservations as seats. After waiting for over 30 minutes, we left, joining the many people ahead of us. There was no apology. Not recommended!

Friends recommended this pizzeria to us. Despite having a reservation, we waited half an hour. We asked several times how much longer it would take, but even then, we only received half-hearted reassurances. We were then offered the option of standing at the bar and ordering drinks in the meantime. So we left. The pizzas looked delicious; it's just a shame the planning wasn't optimal.

We went there again after many years. The food is still very good. The atmosphere is the same as always. However, there was one thing that really bothered us: they should inform customers when they charge extra for garlic sauce. We only noticed this on the bill, and we find it quite unusual that they charge extra for a non-dedicated portion – from a small container that's passed around.

I've known La Comedian for over 30 years. I go there quite irregularly, though. Unfortunately, as I've recently discovered. The pizzas are among the best I've ever known, as always; the quality hasn't diminished over the years. The terrace is a lovely place to sit, and the service is good and fast. I highly recommend the pizzeria.

At Commedia, the food has always tasted simply delicious and authentic Italian. The pizzas are large and are easily among the top five in the city. The other dishes are also consistently delicious. It's not cheap, but the value for money is definitely worth it. If you haven't been there yet, you should definitely check it out.

The best pizza in Nuremberg! The pizzas are so large that you can rarely finish them all. But that's okay, because they taste just as good cold.

We spontaneously went to La Commedia for dinner yesterday. Even though the restaurant was already very busy, we managed to get a seat without a reservation. Time was limited, but perfectly adequate for the two of us. Great pizzas, very friendly and fast service. We'd be happy to return.

Really good pizzeria, one of the best in Nuremberg in my opinion! It's worth making a reservation if you want a table here on Saturday or Sunday evenings :)

10/4/25 The pizza and lasagna were delicious, the service was good, and the price was reasonable. Since we're from Frankfurt, the delivery is too far to eat in, otherwise we'd come more often. Definitely recommend it!

After waiting an hour for the pizza, I left, as it usually doesn't take longer than 30 minutes. The staff didn't even apologize!

We got a table very quickly, which was very nice. The drinks arrived quickly, too, but after 60 minutes, we still had no food. We then paid for our drinks and left, without any apologies from the staff. I've never experienced anything like that before. So, unfortunately, I can't comment on the food itself.

Terrible!!! I've been coming here regularly since 1996. The last few times were terrible, including the service. Today was beyond words. Ordered two pizzas, the restaurant was relatively empty. After 45 minutes, one of them arrived burnt, and the second was missing. The manager told us he didn't have time to address our complaint. He had just been at a table chatting. Outrageous!!! We went home hungry!! What happened? Megalomaniacal? Made too much money? After 29 years, no one will see me or my family there again...

Simply the best pizzeria in the area. Typical Italian charm, wood-fired pizza—you don't see that very often these days. The kitchen is open, so you can take a look inside. The fact that it's always busy says it all. Simply outstanding! 5 stars.

Man with red t-shirt doesn’t behave good with foreigners, but he was talking very politely with German people. Also at the end he asked for tip (like it is must to pay). He didn’t even served us any thing still asked for it. Also we got pizza very late. I will not suggest this restaurant if you are foreigner. Worst experience of my life.

Alles terrible , Wir kamen samstags um 21.10 Uhr ,kommt der Kellner und sagt bis 21.30 können sie bleiben ! Es gibt nur Pizza und Lasagne ! Wir waren hungrig und bestellten gleich eine Pizza la Comedia und Lasagne und zwei Bier ! Die Servietten waren schmutzig mit Tomaten Flecken , Das Essen kam schnell ! Keine extra Teller , die Pizza ungeschnitten , kein Geschmack ! Lasagne voll mit Käse fett ! Auch kein Geschmack! 21.35 kommt der Kellner und nimmt die Teller ohne zu warten oder fragen ob wir fertig sind ! Halbe essen ! Und das nennt sich RESTAURANT ! 40 Euro habe ich bezahlt ! Nie mehr

It's been 30 years, but I've never forgotten how we were treated as a group after a tournament here. Everyone's food was oversalted. If you don't want certain guests, you turn them away immediately.

If you are looking for a pizzeria where taste meets lightness, “La Commedia” is the right place. Each pizza is a masterpiece of balance between quality ingredients and digestible, fragrant and well-leavened dough. The ingredients are very fresh and enhance every bite, without weighing you down. As with the pizza, the kitchen's proposals are also of excellent quality. The service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere welcoming, the quality and courtesy of the staff exceptional, Antonio and Giorgio excellent hosts. Here the attention to the customer is maximum. A place absolutely to try! At the highest level.

Unfortunately, you have to wait almost an hour for a pizza here. They make pizzas ordered for pickup first, and they simply make customers wait in the restaurant, no ifs, ands, or buts... A huge disappointment! The food, however, is highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. I expected a lot more from the place, but the pizza was just mediocre - the taste was rather average and far from what you would imagine a really good pizza to be. The service also left a lot to be desired. The waiters were inattentive and despite a long wait of over 70 minutes there was no communication or apology. We were not informed of the delay nor was there any attempt to explain the wait in any way. In a restaurant that was only moderately busy at the time, it seemed as if little value was placed on the satisfaction of the guests. In the end we just had the pizzas packed up to take away and left the restaurant. Overall, it's a shame, as there clearly would have been more potential here.

I've been there several times, but this was the second time I've waited over an hour for pizza. Even with family. When asked about the service, the answer was a cheeky smile and supposedly too many guests. The bad pizza didn't come completely and the edges of 3 pieces were completely burnt off. Afterwards I was made aware of it again when cashing out, but no insight was given. As a long-time guest, this was the last time as I am no stranger to them. Unfortunately not acceptable

Waited 75 (!) minutes for two mediocre pizzas. On a moderately busy Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. No hint, no explanation and in the end not even a word of apology when we had the pizza packed up straight away because we didn't have any more time. I have no idea how you can treat your customers like that, but we're no longer one of them.

Hatten reserviert, man wollte uns an den Tisch beim Pizzabäcker hinsetzen, wo die Kellner ständig vorbeiflitzen und die "abholer" für ihre Pizzen anstehen. Was ist mit dem La Commedia los???? Früher so gut, auch die Kellner, inzwischen sind diese extrem unaufmerksam, man hat Glück, wenn nach 20 Minuten jemand kommt um Getränke aufzunehmen... Wir sind dann unverrichteter Dinge wieder gegangen. Während Corona haben wir hier mit der Essensabholung richtig viel Geld gelassen, um das Lokal mit zu untersützten. Forget it. Eine der letzten guten Pizzerien in NBG-Süd ist für mich erledigt - nie wieder. Und ich bin regelmäßig seit den 90er Jahren dort, sogar zum Hochzeitsessen.

It can happen that something goes wrong in the restaurant - but our food was completely forgotten and only noticed after over an hour when we asked ourselves. There was an apology, but unfortunately no accommodation - we had to leave without food and still pay for water and coke. Given the prices, I would have expected more service. Very unfortunate.

Even without a reservation, a table was conjured up. So we were able to end our Nuremberg excursion with a delicious dinner. The food was excellent, the pizza was world class. Thanks

“A true Italian oasis in the heart of Nuremberg!” We were welcomed with great warmth and kindness, as if we were at home. The staff was attentive, friendly and always with a smile. The pizza was simply delicious: light dough, very fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that made us feel like we were in Italy. A truly pleasant experience from every point of view.

Best place for pizzas if you are near by south Nürnberg. Visited with family and tried vegetarian pizza and was awesome. Staff was really great and helpful. Pizzas was really fresh and yummy. Sauce with garlic and chilly was great

The four of us got a table here at short notice in the afternoon and were given a really warm welcome. The pizza here is really big and tastes excellent. The prices are reasonable. The only (small) point of criticism is that not everything on the menu can be ordered at around 4:45 p.m.; in my case a pasta dish. It's only available in the evening, but the selection is more than sufficient. I would eat here again.

We called and asked if it was possible to make a reservation, we were told no, come spontaneously. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant because orders were forgotten even when it was quiet. The kitchen only had garlic as a "seasoning," but spices like oregano or salt and pepper were missing. The price is unjustified. Furthermore, I don't find the mussels in garlic onion soup very tasty. I should have just sent them back after an hour and a half. Overall, I hope this was an oversight. If not, they should rethink the concept.

Fantastico! It doesn't get any more Italian! The best wood-fired pizza in town. Not a promise, but fulfillment! Tip: The homemade limoncello. You can't get anything better in Italy.
