My former employer. 😁 If you like traditional Italian wood-fired pizza, you're in good hands at Holzgartenstrasse 4, in the southern part of Nuremberg. Very tasty food, good to exceptionally good ambience and very well-rehearsed and well-known staff. Please reserve in good time as it is a very well-known restaurant and there is a lot of customer traffic. Especially on the weekends it's difficult to get something without a reservation. And if so, then with waiting times. But, it's definitely worth it! 🇮🇹 😉✌️ 🇮🇹

Food was okay. Friendliness is a foreign word. Also very rude on the second visit. This restaurant will not get a third chance.

Simple but traditional Italian restaurant with very attentive and friendly staff. The food was great, you can also see directly from the square how the pizzas are prepared in the wood oven. The price is also completely ok. Can only be recommended!

The food is super delicious. Best pizza in Nuremberg in my opinion. The pasta was also delicious. Unfortunately we had to wait a whole hour for our food, so we could only eat half of it and then had to go to an evening event. Usually you have eaten and paid in a restaurant after just an hour. The waiter still tried hard. A small apology pannacotta to go would have been a consolation. It was also quite crowded and loud, like probably every weekend evening. The people who pick up food are also a bit in the way.

Overrated pizza, if you order spicy pizza you expect pizza with spicy salami and not a Salami pizza with spicy and they make you pay an extra € for the spicy, in any pizzeria the spicy is not paid, oh well then the taste of the half raw pizza and the flavor of salami, better not to talk about it

We've been there a lot now (and at a distance of around 30km, I think that speaks for itself). My wife and I love pizza and we are in the best hands at Pizzeria La Commedia! Also a very nice restaurant and very nice service. You should definitely make a reservation on the weekend as the restaurant is usually very busy!

Pleasant atmosphere (of course the restaurant can't accommodate noisy guests), very nice staff, not a long waiting time - the table was reserved in advance. Pizza was very good. Beef steak itself is very good, vegetables as a side dish are not crispy but overcooked, maybe just frozen vegetables? Filling of the ravioli quite firm, truffles not really visible or tasteable over truffles - agnolini/ravioli - truffles not shaved over them. Dessert choice only tiramisu or panna cotta. Too bad. If so, then just pick up pizza...

Good food, nice service. No need to say more. Except: Finding a parking space is difficult because of the limited space and few parking options. Area around the restaurant is a bit dingy.

We arrived 40 minutes before closing time but were not allowed to eat in the restaurant. Instead we had to take the pizza away, which was disappointing in itself. Unfortunately, this was also reflected in the quality of the pizza. It seemed to have been prepared in a hurry, the cheese was still solid and overall the dish was far from what you would expect from a good Italian pizza. Absolutely not justified for the price. It's a shame, because you primarily expect quality and authentic taste from a pizzeria - both of which were unfortunately missing here.

For me, by far the best pizza in Nuremberg! For me, also a very good price-performance ratio. Large pizzas with fresh ingredients. The reviews with alleged “canned vegetables” and raw dough are absolute nonsense. You can watch them make pizza and they definitely use fresh vegetables! And if you think the dough is h., you just have to open your mouth... sorry. The service was always super friendly and attentive. 5* keep it up!!!!

I went on a Sunday evening at 8pm to eat pizza..And I was very disappointed with this place. The waiter arrives and I order the pizzas...The pizza arrives and I ask him for extra garlic and spicy pepper and he brings it to me..In the end I ask him to pay and I read on the receipt that he charged me €1.50 for garlic..Then I order an Espresso, and he charges me €3.00 for a coffee, it was written on the receipt anyway something Crazy I have been to many Italian places in Germany no one told me charged for extra garlic and spicy for the Pizza Shame Shame ..The thing that made me the most sensation when I get home in the evening I check. The receipt is, I call the restaurant on the phone, a Kavoratore answers and I ask for the Scef if he was there, I wanted to tell him what had happened and the waiter replies, the splinter isn't there and above..For this reason I will no longer come to you to eat in your place and I will advertise what happened.

The wrong dishes were served and the waiter wouldn't take them back and serve the correct dishes. Otherwise the food is really not good. I don't understand how they can get the restaurant even half full.

We ended up here because of the gluten-free menu. You can eat pizza and pasta gluten-free here. The pizza appears to have a peel base as it was smaller than the other pizzas. But my daughter liked it. The other pizza was also very tasty and also very large. Might be important to know if you're ordering as a family. 3 pizzas for 4 people were completely enough for us. You can sit outside here nicely.

If you like pizza, this is the place for you. Real stone oven, well-topped pizzas with delicious ingredients and large sizes. The service was friendly, the waiting time was reasonable (the restaurant was busy on a Sunday evening). Prices are okay for Nuremberg. You get plenty of food, so the price-performance ratio is good at just under 40 euros for two pizzas and two small soft drinks. Definitely recommended, if only because of the authentic, good-humored owner, who runs the restaurant with Italian warmth!

By far the best Italian in all of Nuremberg. I always ate here with my parents as a small child and the service is still the same. Very authentic! Simply delicious!

Yesterday I got pizza for the 2nd time. The pizzas for 5 people were perfect. The service employees all said hello to me. After I paid, one of the employees asked me if I needed help carrying it to the car. I can't understand the many negative reviews, I think the guest shouldn't expect the waiter to come down on his knees. First be friendly, say please and thank you, and then you can expect the waiter to be friendly too. Now a quick word for the boss: please change the prices on the Internet immediately so that I only pay what is on the menu.

Sat down, card was placed on the table. not a nice word etc. Then it was time to wait. Wait. Wait. No drinks intake. After about 15 minutes, the table next door filled with a family. This was well known to the local. Drinks AND food were quickly picked up by the waiter. Hoping that he would come to us straight away, we waited until we could finally order. Puppy cake. The waiter then ran away again and we were ignored. That was reason enough for us to go. At the front of the entrance when we expressed our anger to the main waiter, he simply said “sorry” several times. That's it for the comedy there. Only pick up if at all 🎭

Pizza was good 👍 very tasty 😋 but unfortunately the rest didn't fit at all and was an absolute disgrace. I have no idea where the great reviews come from. You sit down at the table, are seen and ignored for 10 minutes. Then a waiter comes and puts down cutlery. No hello or good evening or anything like that. Afterwards the head waiter Antonio came and asked us what we wanted to drink. Again no greeting. Okay, ordered and waited. Drinking came from the waiter from the first and then food intake from Antonio. Unfortunately again no polite word like thank you, please etc. No, you put the cards on the table and he was gone. Apparently the restaurant or pizza ordering service is doing so well that you are simply treated as a guest on site. Even when I asked about the bill, it took a while and Antonio had to do it again. He put the bill on the table. Bar or card and you're done. Of course there was no tip. For what? Of course he didn't think it was great either and who would have thought. Instead of asking if everything was okay - oh, no one asked. The receipt came from the card payment and he ran away. But I politely called out that it was good and thanked him. But no reaction. Conclusion: Expensive restaurant with no service and more pickup than on-site guests. Thanks for nothing and greetings to waiter Antonio, who only said “Ola” or something similar.

I can relate to the many negative reviews. the subpar, poor service in this restaurant. Went here spontaneously for dinner when the restaurant was relatively empty. But then it filled up quickly. The pizza was delicious, as you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately at my La Commedia the canned vegetables made the pizza completely soggy in the middle. Still, it tasted good. But now to the service. We like to eat out a lot in restaurants, but we have never experienced anything as mushy and unfriendly as here. The young busboys are all a bit awkward, but friendly. But Antonio was very unpleasant, obviously something like the head waiter. No hello, here you go, thank you, do you like it, were you satisfied, is everything okay. Instead, the cards are slammed on the table without a word and a tip is expected in return... and if that doesn't happen with such behavior, they don't even say goodbye or wish you a nice evening. The fact that the young busboys are apparently being trained by him doesn't bode well. We would therefore not recommend this restaurant. At most, pick up pizza, which is what a majority of customers here seem to do. Maybe the boss will read through the negative reviews and take a closer look at the service from the guest's perspective.

Very tasty, authentic pizzas. The base was nice and crispy and thin, the topping was plentiful and fresh. What is particularly noteworthy here is that fresh Parmesan was used and distributed in generous pieces on the pizza. I can only recommend!

Pizza oversalted, quite okay for Nuremberg standards. If you are in Italy often and expect a good Italian pizza here, you shouldn't go here. The price of €13 for this salami pizza is utopian and cannot be justified. There is better Italian pizza even in Nuremberg and for less than ten euros.

I was there with my father who is also Italian. He was very excited because he also has his own pizzeria. He told me that it is the best pizzeria in Nuremberg so far in terms of the pizza (the dough) that he has tried so far and of course I enjoyed it just as much! The atmosphere was like ours in the village in Italy and big thanks to the staff, everyone was very polite. We wish you many more successes!

In my opinion, La Commedia used to be very good. But it has deteriorated considerably, starting with the staff being hectic and a bit cheeky when ordering over the phone and ending with the fact that there were two hairs in the salad. I also specifically ordered an exclusively green salad on the phone, when he said something about Italian salad and repeatedly said that I only wanted a green salad. What I ended up with was a mixed salad with hair. Can't recommend this pizzeria more.

Hello everyone, This wonderful restaurant has been known, popular and very tasty for decades, but the reason I don't give it the full star rating is solely due to the prices, which in my opinion are a bit too high (Penne Arabiata over €15). Unfortunately, parking spaces are also in short supply in the southern part of the city/inner city, but everything is at ground level and therefore also accessible for the disabled. Just a small note: it's better to reserve your space in advance, then nothing will stand in the way 😋.

Was at Commedia over 30 times. When it's not too crowded the pizza is 5 stars. If there is too much going on, the quality drops. So actually 5 stars only conditionally.

We were with you again after a long break. Steak and of course a pizza. Unfortunately this time there was more parmesan as a topping on the pizza. Great steak and great atmosphere. Even though we sat down outside without announcing ourselves, the menu was quickly handed to us, the orders were taken and the food was brought to the table. The pizzas were all surprisingly large for the price and tasted great. The drinks were all solid and the soda bottles were the same size as the pizzas. **No longer current, update is below** ***The only thing you can complain about about the pizzas is that they weren't cut properly and the knives you had to use to cut them weren't really sharp. Since this can get a little annoying in the long run, that was the reason why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5.*** I can definitely recommend it. 2nd visit: This time I decided on the lasagna, which tasted excellent. I can only repeat all of the points above. It is also positive that the knives are no longer butter knives, but real cutting knives. That's why I added the fifth star.

We've been coming to La Commedia (back then in the rooms diagonally opposite) for 35 years now. Even though we now live in Munich and can't be here as often, everyone recognizes us immediately and we are warmly welcomed. If anything, the food has become even tastier. We have never been disappointed in countless times and have rarely had pizza and salads as good as at La Commedia. Hopefully we'll be able to eat there very often and enjoy the personal atmosphere

La commedia used to be very good, but now the food doesn't taste good anymore and the waiters are very unfriendly.

If you like wine glasses with lipstick and rocket with worms, this is the place for you! When the drinks came, the waiter didn't know which glass had wine and which had wine spritzer. One of the glasses had lipstick residue on it. Then when my pizza “Estate” with rocket arrived - a worm crawled out of it 🤢. I let the pizza go back and the waiter didn't even apologize for it. New pizza was made, but we weren't even offered an espresso or a degestivo as an apology (as I know from other (more upscale) restaurants when something goes wrong! The taste of the second pizza was ok, but not the best for the price! but my appetite was already gone anyway. Ambience is rather dated and creepy, with all the clowns everywhere.

This pizzeria has been in Nuremberg for a long time. And rightly so: the pizzas are among the best in Nuremberg. The rest of the offer falls away. The pasta with porcini mushrooms had a very bland taste and the mushrooms were watery frozen goods. If porcini mushrooms are not in season, they should not be offered. The service is friendly, the meal takes a while, so you should allow some time. The ambience is quite pleasant to linger in. However, the pricing is solidly expensive. The pizzas are worth it, the rest not so much.

The pizzas were very good, but - as announced on the menu in an Italian proverb - you have to wait a bit for the good taste. The atmosphere is really cozy and good. Panoramic views from the windows help while waiting.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants for over 20 years. Food is always delicious, huge pizzas and large portions of pasta. The atmosphere is also very cozy, sitting outside is also very good when the weather is good.

We made a reservation couple days before and when we arrived everything was fine. We tried spaghetti and pizzas. Spaghetti with vongole was very delicious. Pizzas are quite big. Tap beer and house wine. Tiramisu top. Nice experience.
