I was invited to a birthday party at Ristorante Ciao and I absolutely loved this restaurant. All the tables were fully booked, and the staff was accordingly busy, but they were still confident and open to all the guests' requests! Of course, the food was also a delight for all the guests!

I ordered a calzone yesterday and picked it up from the restaurant. I've never had anything like it. Not only was it a pizza folded in half (flat as a flounder), but it was completely burnt, tasteless, and bone dry. The filling was unrecognizable. Friends of mine also tried this "masterpiece" of a calzone - we agreed - it's only good for the trash can. It's a shame for the money you pay for it. The pizza chef should "get smart" about what a calzone pizza should look and taste like. The other dishes my friends had weren't as good either and didn't inspire enthusiasm (some of them were thrown in the trash, too). I definitely won't be going back to this place. Unfortunately, I had to give it one star...

We've always loved coming to "Ciao." The food is delicious, and what has always distinguished this restaurant is its staff. Kostas and Liberato's charm has always been a key part of it for us. But you should also give "new" things a chance! The new owners are very nice, but unfortunately, they're noticeably out of the industry! The "new" employees (female) hardly speak any German and seem very listless and unmotivated! The only thing is that the food is still delicious - but Ciao is no longer the same Ciao as it used to be - a shame!!

Super delicious food at a well-known and popular Italian restaurant in Nuremberg. We really enjoyed the pizzas. The service seemed rushed, and we had to wait a bit longer, but it was also busy. The otherwise typical ambiance was annoying, but the omnipresent mirrors were okay. Restrooms are in the basement, down the stairs. But the food was so delicious that I'd give it 5 stars overall. I'd gladly go back.

We celebrated our civil wedding at this restaurant, and we're still speechless with gratitude and excitement. In a very short time, something wonderful was arranged for us. We made a reservation on Saturday around 6 p.m. for the following Tuesday. It was very spontaneous. The decorations were simply gorgeous, with so much attention to detail! Lovingly placed balloons, table rings, and small highlights immersed the room in a very special atmosphere. From the very first moment, we felt so warm, from the service staff to the managers. We were asked several times if everything was okay and if we had any requests – genuine attention that you rarely experience. And then the food… simply incredibly beautifully presented, with the highest level of flavor. Our guests were thrilled, and so were we! I've eaten there several times. And all the dishes I've tried so far have been simply excellent. The waiters are friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Simply good service. I'd be happy to come back. Be careful, though. If the waiter tells you the food is hot, it's hot.

I confess: I'm a repeat offender. My second visit to Nuremberg in a month, and again at "Ciao." Why? Because it was simply delicious, and the impeccable service impressed us despite the stress of the new opening. And yes: we'll definitely eat here again on our next visit to Nuremberg. We would have liked to take photos, but ate too quickly. Thanks for the lovely evening with delicious cocktails, a decent lager, a lovely Pinot Grigio, a superb salad, spicy pizzas, and even a magic show at the next table. Bottom line: You absolutely have to spend a lovely evening here!

I had been to Restaurant Ciao several times before it closed and was always very satisfied with everything. The service used to be friendly and fast, the food was delicious and high-quality, and the restaurant was a bit older but well-kept and had Italian charm. Since reopening, some things seem to have changed for the worse. The restaurant looks the same as before, but the food is no longer as high-quality (the Gorgonzola sauce on my pasta was mostly cream), and the service is the worst I've ever experienced. If I could, I would give it 0 stars. It took 30 minutes for us to order drinks and (because we had waited so long) food. The food and drinks arrived at the same time, and the bottle of wine we ordered was placed on our table, unopened, without comment. After we asked the other server to open the wine, no one apologized, and we weren't asked if we were satisfied with the food. We ordered dessert, but it didn't arrive for another 20 minutes. Only when we asked were we told that it wasn't available today – again, with no apology for the long wait. To be fair, we were each brought a tartufo as an apology. However, it was so frozen and covered in ice crystals that it's safe to assume none of it was homemade. That was my last visit to Restaurant Ciao.

Our expectations of previous visits, of experiencing the same quality and service, were unfortunately dashed. The staff was inattentive, unqualified, and very distant in direct communication. The quality of the food was not convincing. After we expressed our dissatisfaction, the service improved. As an apology, the bill was adjusted, and we received a free dessert. There's still a lot of room for improvement here. However, we won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Do you need staff for Saturday and Sunday?

We've been to Ciao several times and wanted to see what's new after the changes. The terrace is beautiful and inviting. The service was attentive, but with a half-full terrace, they were completely overwhelmed. We had to allow plenty of time, and even taking our order took a while. The food was average at best, and all the dishes tasted similar. We missed the restaurant's Italian charm and the humor of the previous waiters.

I haven't had such good calamari, even in Bella Italia. Super friendly staff, the customer is still king here! The tiramisu is a dream, and the espresso tastes like it did in Rome. Up on the terrace, you get that vacation feeling with a glass of Aperol "Salute." I have a new favorite restaurant. Thanks Mely and Muri for the unforgettable evening.

After reopening on June 18, 2025, Ciao is at its best – you can tell that passion and Italian tradition have been revived here. The wood-fired oven brings the pizzas to the table wonderfully crispy, and the dough is perfect – just the way you want it. Pasta dishes like lasagna and gnocchi also shine with homemade freshness and generous portions. The service is warm and attentive, and there's a family atmosphere – you immediately feel welcome. The prices are fair, and the value for money is very good.

I've ordered Pizza Napoli, the crust, amount of cheese was perfect but the Sardellen were so salty that I had to take them away because they were simply not edible. I hope for the future that you guys can improve that.
