La Casserole in Baden-Baden

If you want to start out your evening with a bottle or two or some drinks, and wait for your tasty food portions to eventually arrive, then Le Casserole is the place for you. But if you’re ravenously hungry or can’t afford to stay out late, then you might want another choice. We had ordered the Alsatian-style pizza as an appetizer, hoping it would arrive soon, but it was at least 30 to 45 minutes before it did so. It was quite tasty but a bit salty. We got some alcohol-free beer just to fill the interminable minutes. We got tagliatelle with prawns and chicken, respectively, and while both meals were well-prepared, we were expecting slightly larger portions for the price (26 to 28–plus euros). The two women in charge were constantly busy, but they needed more than one support waiter, and I think they could have used an extra cook.

Super nice service. We were looking for a place to try tarte flambee and we found this restaurant with a good atmosphere and delicious options.

Very good, but also very well paid. A glass of Gewürztraminer for just under €13 is quite something.

Fantastic service, very nice ambience and authentic cuisine. We chose snails and goose liver for starters, lamb shank with ratatouille and mashed potatoes for the main course and a tarte flambée with apple and Calvados for dessert. All dishes were beautifully prepared and tasted really great. The service was very attentive and friendly. The price-performance ratio is absolutely appropriate. Full 5 stars from us. We'd love to come back

Really very good food, but don't be in a hurry because since they cook everything at the moment, they take a long time. Still, I would repeat without a doubt!

Truly the best best steak and best tarte flambee I had in my life 🤩🤩 The steak was juicy and tasty. The tarte flambee was really thin and crispy. I usually hate peas and carrots, but I was surprised their sauce actually made it taste good. It was a wonderful dinner. We really enjoyed it. We only stayed one night in baden baden and was hoping to have more room/time to be able to try different dishes...lol

A beautiful, unusual little restaurant with high-quality Alsatian and German food! Outdoor seating is also offered! Very friendly service, quick preparation and delivery of the food! We recommend the delicious Alsatian tarte flambée (alternatively also without bacon and onions), but also many other French dishes. Prices at “Baden-Baden level”! The Alsatian ambience alone invites you to linger!

A very nice bistro. The food was really good, the snails, the foie gras everything. The service was also very fast and friendly. We definitely recommend.

We decided to visit this establishment based on good reviews. The establishment is not large, but quite cozy. The waiters are very attentive. My husband and I ordered a medallion, pasta and carpaccio, creme brulee, as well as local wine. Everything was incredibly tasty! The hostess was present in the hall establishment, she was very attentive and helped the waiters. Also, the cook, when leaving, asked each visitor whether they liked everything. The price for the ordered dishes was average. We were satisfied. We are definitely planning to visit this restaurant again!

Very nice and attentive service. Wine and food were also very good. Even the plates were preheated! Only the penetrating music from the neighboring restaurant (Löwenbräu Keller-0🌟) disturbed the beautiful evening. Maybe it would be possible to play some nice romantic French music in this ambience? Delicious tarte flambée, nice ambience

Das Restaurant befindet sind in der Innenstadt von Baden Baden und hat bei TripAdvisor einen hohen Platz, allerdings war die Leistung am Tag meines Besuches mangelhaft bis schlecht, Die online , vor dem Restaurant und im Restaurant befindliche Karte beinhaltet - was ich in einem französisch elsässischen Restaurant erwarte eine Entenleber Terrine. Das diese nicht verfügbar ist wurde erst nach Bestellung bedauert anstatt es vorher anzusagen. Es mag dämlich klingen, aber deshalb hatte ich das Lokal gewählt! Der Ersatz war eine Entenleber gebraten die nach nichts schmeckte, überlagert zu lange im Kühlschrank etc. Dazu eine Miniportion. Die anrichtung und die Beilagen waren okay. Die maishuhnbrust war guter Qualität, gut gebraten. Aber die Trüffel Soße lieblos und sah etwas nach zusammengewurstelt aus, ich hätte es mit einem Schuss Trüffelöl von Coop besser hinbekommen , vor allem weil noch ein grünlich schimmerndes kernöl das ganze nicht ganz so appetitlich aussehen ließ. Dazu Erbsen und Gemüse aus der Dose. Der Champignon und die Tomaten waren frisch und gut, ebenso das Püree. Das ganze relativ teuer und den Preis nicht wert, auch nicht in Baden Baden. Die Getränkepreise, der Kir und der Rotwein dafür recht gut!

We really enjoyed the crispy, wafer-thin Flamkuchen and a delicious green salad with fresh, warm mushrooms. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. We'd love to come back!

I would not recommend this restaurant unless you like waiting. We arrived around 7:45 p.m. and ordered a tarte flambée, a green salad and a classic dish. At 9:15 p.m., no dish had yet been served (we have a child). Also, 2 of us neighboring tables next door were forgotten. For a restaurant that highlights such a wide variety of tarte flambée on the menu, one would expect fast and efficient service at least on this dish. Having asked where our dish was, the owner got angry and told us that we could leave. She shouted at us that we didn't realize the work done. However, we did not understand that such a highly rated restaurant had such long and inattentive service. No trace of the waitress after bringing our drinks. We can't say if the food is good, since we didn't have the chance to taste it. We left without dinner after an hour and a half of waiting!

Delicious! The food is very tasty, but that is also reflected in the price. But this is okay as far as the quality is really good. The only small drawback: the few waiters were very busy and therefore you sometimes have to wait a while for an order. All in all: clear recommendation!

No había muchos Restaurantes abiertos y fuimos por los comentarios de TripAdvisor…acogedor, bien atendido pero excesivamente altos los precios por lo que brindan. De entrada unos Scargots los 6 nos costaron unos 16€ ! Si no hay otra alternativa….entramos porque hacía frío y llovía. No me gustó. Pero no es malo. Es promedio de la cocina turística de Badén Badén. Se aprovechan de los turistas.

I do not recommend it. The restaurant is for 2 and that's the maximum. The food is not tasty, the interior is old and shabby, the service is long and not attentive. We chose this restaurant because we thought it was French cuisine and it was supposed to be delicious, but alas! We took tart flambe with salami. There were only 3 pieces of salami on 8 pieces of tart. How is this even possible?! A large salad was dressed with some kind of sauce with mayonnaise, absolutely unacceptable. The composition of the salad left much to be desired, right there you have champignons, oranges and plastic tomatoes. The terrine from fouagre was normal. The pasta with truffle oil and vegetables, as you can guess, was absolutely truffle-free. We will not return, and we do not recommend it.

My husband and I by chance stumbled on this gem, did not have reservations however were able to snag a table by the window. The service is very sweet and the foie gras was très incroyable! So amazing, highly recommend!!

Good experience in this restaurant, the cuisine in terms of dishes is delicious! I had a chicken with mash which I highly recommend, it was very successful, my companion had gnocchi which he really liked! In terms of dessert, I was disappointed with the crème brûlée which was not strong enough in vanilla for my taste and a texture that was a little too liquid, the same for the apple tarte flambée which smelled too much of cognac. The decor is nice with old tools and really vintage decor. Very pleasant servers and owners, who also adapt as best as possible to our language! In French, German or English! On the other hand, be careful with the price level, it is still quite high.

Looks like their specialty is Flammkuchen but we had 2 big salads. Just delicious with lots of interesting ingredients and very good dressing. Place has a lot of old world charm....and has an attentive staff.

5 star restaurant ⭐️ A very warm and welcoming place. The staff is super welcoming and speaks French very well. As for the dishes, everything was perfect, and very generous. There decoration with lots of old objects. Besides, there is an object that I would like someone to tell me if you know what it is, the photo is marked 😉

Wonderful French cucine, a refreshing escape from the German dishes. The interior is cozy and the staff extremely friendly. We'll surely come back on our next trip to Baden Baden.

Ce restaurant est vraiment à recommander. L'accueil est très chaleureux, tant en allemand qu'en français. Le cadre est cosy et plonge les clients dans un moment un peu hors du temps. La cuisine est vraiment à la hauteur des commentaires postés sur ce site. Nécessaire de réserver car il y a du monde, notamment en période de fêtes, à Baden-Baden...

Wer eine so große Flammkuchenkarte präsentiert, dem sollte es auch möglich sein, eine erkleckliche Anzahl diese Produktes gleichzeitig auf den Tisch zu bringen. Aber auf Nachfrage bestätigte uns die Servicekraft, dass der Ofen nur zwei(!) Flammkuchen pro Backvorgang schafft. Mein gängiger Bosch-Ofen im Privathaushalt schafft mindestens vier. Der Service brachte auch sonst kaum was auf die Reihe. Ich selbst hatte Schupfnudeln mit Münster gratiniert. Die Schupfnudeln waren Industrieware ohne irgendwelche Raffinesse einer Würzung für rund 15 Euro. Macht das Angebot von altbackener Entenstopfleber und Froschschenkeln dieses Haus schon zu einen Restaurant französischer Küche? Nein, muss man nicht ein zweites Mal hingehen. Ein erstes Mal auch nicht.

Restaurant très bien situé au centre ville. Ambiance super sympa notamment grace à la patronne qui est super ! Le service parfait. Les plats sont excellents.

We didn't reserve and got a seat fortunately right at the corner. The atmosphere was very nice. It gets very popular around 7pm (saw a couple of groups let out without reservation), so I'd recommend go there early or make a reservation. Food was excellent. We ordered flammkuchen, snails, lamb shank, rump steak. The portion was enough to feed two big eaters. The lamb was, ... , wow, one of the best that I've tried. The desserts were also very tasty.

Tout d'abord un accueil charmant par l'hôtesse des lieux, tout sourire et pleine de bons conseils pour que tout se passe au mieux. L'escalope de foie gras de canard poêlée accompagnée de pommes est irrésistible, fondante et savoureuse. La Flammkuchen Capri est fine et croustillante. Les tagliatelles étaient si bonnes, si bien cuites al dente qu'elles nous ont semblé avoir été fraîchement confectionnées. En dessert, nous avons opté pour le mystère flambé au Grand Marnier.

Great spot for a mix of French, German and Alsace cuisine. My friend and I dined here and were warmly welcomed and shown to our table quickly. We started with a tarte flambée with onions, cheese and bacon; it was crisp and well seasoned and creamy, the rich flavour offset with a glass of crémant. This was followed by a delicious platter of frogs legs cooked in butter and garlic (delicious) and crusty bread. We ended our meal by sharing a veal escalope accompanied by frites (skinny fries) and a dressed salad, washed down with a glass of French red wine. The food was very rich but it felt appropriate for the weather and the portions were made for sharing so we could try different things. The service was lovely, the ladies who own/ manage (?) the restaurant were welcoming despite it being so busy. Very centrally located (as is most places in Baden Baden) and while the decor is more rustic, it was in keeping with the cuisine.

It’s an experience to remember, a dinner at La Casserole. I loved the escargots (most probably the best I ever had). I tried for the first time, the Cuisses de grenouilles au beurre et à l’aïl and it exceeded all expectations. It was really exquisit. The owners of the restaurant are extremely dedicated and kind.

Sehr sympathisches Restaurant mit sehr guter Küche. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Keine Schicki-Micki-Küche, aber ausgezeichnet. Einzig der von mir gewählte offene Wein (Corbière) war nicht top, aber auch nicht wirklich schlecht.

You'd be hard pushed to find a more picturesque spot to eat outdoors in Baden Baden. The food was lovely - try the creamy chicken pasta - though the service was quite slow given how popular it was. But otherwise a great choice for dinner!

Sehr gutes Essen in Baden Baden? Hier werden Sie fündig! Wir waren spontan zum Abendessen in dem Lokal „La Casserole“. Das Ambiente überzeugte uns direkt durch den enorm großen Wohlfühlfaktor. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Unser Essen (Targiatelle mit Gambas und Schweinelendchen auf Pilz Rahm Soße mit Spätzle) waren hervorragend. Das Fleisch perfekt gebraten und die Nudeln gut gekocht. Als Vorspeise haben wir einen Flammkuchen bestellt. Dieser war hauchdünn und perfekt auf den Punkt gebacken. Mit 25-35€ pro Hauptgericht und 9€ für den Flammkuchen sehe ich das Restaurant als sehr fair an. Für diese gute Qualität ist die Höhe gut bemessen. Wir würden erneut wiederkommen.

Waren an einem schönen Sommer Abend dort und hatten reserviert. Wollten draussen sitzen also kurz rein um zu fragen. Dort warteten wir dann eine weile bis sich jemand um uns kümmerte. Es war nicht viel los und wir nahmen platz. Keine Tischdecke oder eingedeckt. Es dauerte ziemlich lange bis wir bestellen konnten und auf unsere Getränke warteten wir noch länger da diese „vergessen“ wurden. Gefragt wurden wir aber auch nicht wenn wir nach 30min an einem leeren Tisch sitzen. Zweimal wurden uns dann sachen hingestellt die wir nicht bestellt hatten. Wohlgemerkt es war nicht viel los und die Chefin unterhält sich lieber mit anderen Gästen. Die dann abwertend und Lustig machen über uns redeten auf französisch mit dem Gedanken wir würden es ja nicht verstehen, sehr professionell. Essen war dann sehr lecker aber der Service einfach schlecht. Nicht mal Bieruntersetzer? Waren auch die einzig jüngeren Gäste was nicht hieß wir hätten nicht für genug Geld gegessen. Alles in allem sehr unwohl und schlechte Erfahrung dank dem Service.

We came by 7pm, willing to try this restaurant, waiting for someone to seat us, right in front of the entrance (there were 4 or 6 people on the terrace). The blond waitress was just next to us. We politely said " Guten Abend" and received no response, nor any acknowledgement of our presence, She obviously noticed our presence because she turned her head in our direction, twice. (She even greeted a passing by lady, just next to us). After about 1 to 2 minutes, 2 men came just behind us, also waiting for a table, and the waitress greeted them with a large smile, sat them at a booked table, gave them the menu and never returned to us. I went inside the restaurant to tell the other waitress that the young woman outside just ghosted us, her response was " it's because she can't speak english". Well, fair enough, but she didn't know we weren't german people, since she didn't talked to us, at all !!! So, we left. My husband and I are both working in restaurants, and we never witnessed a client be treated and ignored this way !

Delicious home cooked from scratch. The rump steak and chicken were both perfectly seasoned and cooked. Agnes is a delight. You can eat outside.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner of Flammkuchen, Duck liver with glazed apple and Lamb, paired with nice wine. We were so glad to be given an outdoor table without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. We were also very greatful that they had kept for us an item that we had left at the table. A highly recommended restaurant for the excellent food and service.

Endroit très charmant, sans chichi ! La patronne parle très bien le français comme l’allemand ce qui et super. La cuisine et très bonne, de qualité, copieuse, généreuse, traditionnelle. Service was incredibly slow and there weren’t a lot of guests in the end and they still kinda forgot about us. Food was unfortunately bland. Prices don’t match the quality of the food. Aperol was more expensive and smaller than in the adlon kempinski in Berlin 😃

La patronne parle français ça peut aider. La flammekuche est bonne et copieuse. Les assiettes de tagliatelles sont bien garnis. Les vins en bouteille sont un peu chers mais en pichet ils sont buvable. Le picon est bien dosé.

We love this place. It was one of the best meals we had in our 18 days in Germany. Come for the food, stay for the food!. Service a little slow however everyone was very kind. Our waitress didn’t understand much English so the French owner took our order. She was great!

Really nice place. The terrace is a little too cosy. You don’t have much space. But dogs are allowed. The service is great and the food was really delicious! Steak was so soft and the homemade butter was perfect! Really enjoyed the dinner!
