Because we had forgotten a reservation, we were really lucky that the friendly waitress gave us a table. Unfortunately, after 2 hours the actual guests arrived. So always RESERVE in advance. Food was super delicious. 😋

Very authentic shop. Great food that doesn't take too long. The service is okay, especially the lady who works there is very nice. The prices are very reasonable for such food. The only negative point: no parking spaces, but you can find some parking space in the village.

Extremely unfriendly place for families. Bartender came over to yell at us that our young child was being loud and to take the child outside like a dog. I've seen other reviews of similar experiences there and I couldn't recommend enough for people to avoid this place.

Cute restaurant in the heart of Ober Erlenbach. Great selection of Mexican dishes, from burritos to enchiladas to fajitas. I've been here many times and there's never been anything to complain about when it comes to food. The furnishings are suitable, attractive and comfortable, but unfortunately the acoustics are terrible - as soon as a few tables are occupied, you can no longer understand your own words. And since the place is ALWAYS full, it is always very loud.

Haven't been here for over 3 years now. I have to say, everything used to be better. I didn't like that my enchiladas were squashed into a small baking dish with all of their accompaniments. It would have looked better on a plate and would have been easier to eat. In my opinion, it used to taste better too. The service was nice, but I found her clothing impossible. Sports leggings and some floppy t-shirt on it. Especially as a waitress, you shouldn't give the impression that you've just gotten off the couch.

Anyone looking for a colorful dog, a message of Latin American warmth in this dead suburb will not find it here. Bizarre dialogue: + “hello and good day” - "Hello" + "we would like two beers" - "here or to take away?" + “outside would be nice” - "We don't serve outside. Have you made a reservation?" + "no. But no problem. Then we'll drink it here at the bar" (about 7 stools free/one occupied) - "but someone is sitting there. There is no space" + "oh. That's a shame. I'm unsure what causes such behavior, but anyone who doesn't enjoy people is not an innkeeper, just an innkeeper. The person should do something different with their talents.

Mexican cuisine in a rustic atmosphere. The food was different. From top to so-so. The buger pattie was dry and would have appreciated some salt and pepper. Plus it was well cooked. Mit den Worten „Ihr merkt nicht, dass euer Kind hier nicht hingehört, oder?“ wurden wir gegen 18:30 Uhr äußerst unfreundlich vom Chef des Restaurants daraufhin gewiesen, dass wir im „La Cantina“ unerwünscht sind. Bereits bestehende Rezensionen, die auf die Unfreundlichkeit des Serviceleiters / Restaurantchefs aufmerksam machen, hatten wir bei unseren ersten Besuchen außen vor gelassen, mussten nun aber genauso schlechte und miese Erfahrungen machen. Und da Service in der Gastronomie eine zentrale Rolle spielt, war dies wohl unser letzter Besuch im „La Cantina“. Als Familie haben wir vorausschauend den ersten Tisch um 17:30 Uhr gebucht und waren bereits um 18:30 Uhr inkl. Rechnung und zahlen fertig zum Aufbruch (unser eines Kind wurde am Ende etwas quengelig). Nachdem uns eine nette (!) Angestellte einen Absacker aufs Haus gebracht hatte, kam der Chef höchst persönlich auf uns zugestürzt und begann seine Wutrede. Einzig und alleine die Restaurantbesucher der umliegenden vier Tische sagten uns nach seinem Angriff „Nehmt euch das nicht zu Herzen“, „Der ist immer so“, „Euer Kind hat die ganze Zeit so schön gespielt“, „Das Verhalten des Chefs ist nicht akzeptabel“. An dieser Stelle Danke an alle für eure persönlichen Kommentare, die zeigen, dass der Chef anscheinend das Problem ist. Wenn das nicht gewesen wäre, hätte ich echt gedacht, ich sei im falschen Film. Zu guter Gastronomie gehören m.E. neben gutem Essen eine große Portion Servicegedanke und professioneller Umgang mit Menschen. Die letztgenannten hat der Chef an diesem Tag mit Füßen getreten. So müssen wir uns nach insgesamt sieben Besuchen in gleicher Konstellation (2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) zukünftig einen neuen Mexikaner suchen. Das Essen war immer gut und mehrere Freunden hatten wir das „La Cantina“ Bad Homburg / Erlenbach empfohlen. Sehr schade, wir kommen nie wieder.

As a family, we had the foresight to book the first table at 5:30 p.m. and were ready to leave at 6:30 p.m., including the bill and payment (our one child got a little whiny at the end). After a nice (!) employee brought us a nightcap on the house, the boss came rushing towards us in person and began his angry speech. Only the restaurant visitors from the four surrounding tables said to us after his attack: “Don’t take it to heart,” “He’s always like that,” “Your child has been playing so well the whole time,” “The boss’s behavior is unacceptable “. At this point, thanks to everyone for your personal comments, which show that the boss appears to be the problem. If it hadn't been for that, I would have really thought I was in the wrong movie. In my opinion, good gastronomy includes, in addition to good food, a large portion of service and professional dealings with people. The boss trampled on the latter that day. So after a total of seven visits in the same constellation (2 adults, 2 children) we have to look for a new Mexican in the future. The food was always good and we recommended “La Cantina” Bad Homburg / Erlenbach to several friends. It's a shame, we'll never come back.

I expected more based on the reviews. The food was mediocre at best. I had a burger. It was too dry and the minced meat wasn't of the quality needed for a good burger. The mince was not fresh, but rather very fine and pressed. Kind of like some second-class frozen food. The details make a delicious burger, but unfortunately this one was far from that. At 15 euros for a burger with fries - just too weak, sorry! So I'm not interested in another visit, it's a shame. Service was okay, ambience not very inviting to eat. More of a pub atmosphere, the rooms are too dark. I can hardly understand the 4.6 stars, but it's good. If you don't know anything better...

Volle Hütte, Samstag Abend, nur zwei Leute im Service : man hat es NICHT gemerkt! Total freundlich, (ohne Zettel! 😉) flott und aufmerksam. Das Essen: ich sach mal so....der erste Mexikaner im Rhein Main Gebiet, wo ich mich schon aufs nächste mal freue !!! 😘 Die Enchiladasosse ist der Knaller !!! Und für Vegetarier: Burger saulecker, Enchiladas mit knackigem, frischem Gemüse, Guacamole yammi !!!

Ambiente schön, Bedienung freundlich, Essen lecker und reichhaltig (sah klein aus, war allerdings pappsatt danach). Was will man mehr.

Super leckere Mexikanische Gerichte! Besonders gut sind die Quesedillas, aber auch wenn man etwas nicht mexikanisches möchte gibt es hier viele Alternativen. Jenny im Service und Christoph an der Bar sind so herzlich und gastfreundlich. Wir haben das La Cantina schon weiterempfehlen und werden dies auch immer wieder gerne tun.

Everything we tasted was so full of flavor. The staff is very friendly and the decor of the place is really nice. The churros are not too crispy on the outside but they are definitely the best I have tasted in Germany so far. Wouldn't hesitate to order them next time around again.

Wer mexikanisches Essen mag, wird La Cantina lieben. Ein Geheimtipp in Bad Homburg's beschaulichen Ortsteil Ober-Erlenbach, gleich gegenüber der Feuerwehr. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich und einladend, alles ist sauber und gepflegt. Die Speisekarte ist reichhaltig ohne überladen zu wirken, die Gerichte selbst sind gut und leicht verständlich beschrieben und für die Liebhaber von Schnitzel, Steak und Burger ist auch etwas dabei. Die Burger vom Lavagrill bestehen lt. Karte aus 100% Rindfleisch vom regionalen Metzger, hierfür müsste es einen Extra-Stern geben. Insgesamt ist die Qualität der verwendeten Lebensmittel, insbesondere die des Fleisches, absolut top. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und zuvorkommend, auch auf Extrawünsche wird anstandslos eingegangen. Sobald das Wetter es zulässt, findet der Gast auch einen schönen Außenbereich zum Verweilen vor. Eine Tischreservierung ist ratsam, da das Restaurant stets gut besucht ist. Einen Parkplatz findet man im Ahlweg oder in einer der Nebenstraßen eigentlich immer.

nach einer kurzfristigen reservierung eines tisches für sechs personen bis 20:00 wurden wir vom chef des hauses gegen 19:45 bereits auf äußerst rüde art dem restaurant verwiesen. hier nie wieder !!!

Sehr schöne location, tolles Personal und gutes Essen. Einziges Manko sind die Softdrinks, wie Cola, Sprite usw., die schmecken überhaupt nicht. Denke das das so eine Zapfanlage ist, die aber nicht gut eingestellt ist, denn kaum Kohlensäure im Getränk und schmecken gar nicht typisch nach Cola und Co. Würde da was dran gemacht, glatte 5☆
