La Batea in Berlin

The atmosphere is really good and the service warm and friendly. The tables were cute and had a candle on them. I asked for a recomendation and they recomended cow stake which cost 24€. It came with 4 patatoes and a salad. The stake was juicy had a lot of chewy parts and it was hard to consume. The butter knife they gave me couldn't cut the stake properly. My friend asked for a recomendation with champions and he actually got a really tasty chicken fillet with champions and sauce. The chicken was cooked well and fit perfect with the sauce and champions. It cost 16€, which is fair for the portion and quality of the food. Unfortunately they accept only cash, even for orders 40€+. I am overall sceptical about the experience, it was a hit or miss situation. I hope the rest of the dishes are as tasty as the one my friend had. A good thing abour this restaurant is that you can dine even if its relatively late.

This place is terrible. Service took too long, the food took ages and wasnt good, paella was not Spanish like. After more than one hour waiting the rice was overcooked, no crust in the bottom and a few pieces of meat. Spent 85 euros in a tapas for 2, 2 paellas, 2 beers and 2 colas. Live music was barely Spanish. Don’t go there, better a döner.

La Batea, now Adamos, is an institution in Berlin. The first Latin American restaurant in Berlin - opened by Chilean dissidents. Simply great and with a breath of fresh air after the reopening!

Best churros, best paella and best lamb kare. The boss Adamo is very polite and nice and the waitress Elsa is very friendly 😍 always happy

The tapas are A1, you only see such cheerful and attentive staff at Adamo.

A real heartfelt restaurant! La Batea (Adamos Tapas Bar & Restaurant) is a place where you feel comfortable from the first moment. The hosts are incredibly warm, attentive and exude a passion that you can feel in every detail. The tapas? Simply fantastic! Fresh, refined and prepared with so much love that every bite is a little highlight. Especially the grilled shrimps and homemade croquettes are a must! Plus a great selection of wines and an atmosphere that immediately puts you in the holiday mood. An evening here is more than just food – it is a real experience. Definitely go!

The paella was a rice cardboard and had nothing to do with a paella! The two guitar players forced us to leave the restaurant with their singing! The old La Batea was a lot better, which is a shame.

Amazing! Authentic food with great service and live music. It felt like a short trip to Spain.

Looks cozy, but it's no longer La Batea. Hardly anything on the menu. Expensive. No more empanadas or the usual La Batea dishes. We left immediately after looking through the menu. Been going there for 45 years. The new owner spoiled everything. Adios!

The atmosphere and food are really great and authentic. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. There's even (His)Spanish live music here! 🪕 But even though we were there at 5:30 p.m. last Saturday, our tapa plate + grill plate took over an hour to order, which is why we got to the opera 10 minutes late. That was a shame because we had specifically chosen La Batea because of its proximity to the Deutsche Oper, but I don't think we will go there again before going to the opera. However, if you have a lot of time, you can.

Auténtico, great... delicious food, great drinks, nice service, live music even during the week, formerly the most delicious Chilean restaurant in Berlin, now Latin American cuisine. Highly recommended.

La Batea is flourishing again, under the new leadership of Adamo, the well-known restaurateur of cozy tapas cuisine. The long-time regulars have him back in B-Charlottenburg/Wilmersdorf. The tapas cuisine leaves nothing to be desired. Starting with the Spanish delicious peppers (Pilientos de Padrón), Pulpo andaluz, the delicious tomato salad with garlic (best inhaled with a spoon) to many delicacies of Spanish cuisine. Those who enjoy fresh fish and great meat will of course also get their money's worth. Today I had a beef fillet with onions and garlic...😋 Fine finish with vanilla ice cream with hot figs, probably only in season.. The food reminds you of the beautiful Spanish holidays. The best way to celebrate these dreams is with a beautiful red Reserva from 2019. The old regulars thank him, new ones arrive... you can tell by the full tables.. It's best to reserve in advance...

There is a large selection of different tapas and daily specials. The sea bream was perfectly seasoned. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

This isn't LaBatea like it used to be. Menu has become short. The food had no taste, the meat smelled. Vegetables were not fresh but frozen. I have known LaBatea for over 20 years. Too bad 😕

Under new management since August 7th, 2024. Therefore no card payment possible at the moment. Now called Adamo Tapas. Tapas were good and the portions were large. Paella only by advance order.

We were there for an opera. For us it's a pleasant oet for an evening when I don't want to eat. The dishes were average.

I LOVE THIS STORE! Always come once a month! The service is the BEST! So sweet, has everything under control and can remember everything. Food is great, can recommend the tacos. And prices are great too. Best shop <3

This is one of my favorite tapas places in the whole Berlin. The food is delicious, drinks are great, and the staff is friendly and nice.

The place is passable, but don't expect a typical Latin restaurant because it isn't.

Ich kannte La Batea von den 80er Jahren und es war ein Muss. Heute ist es ein Touristen Ecke, das Essen schmeckt kaum und wird sehr grob serviert. Traurig

Food Quality: food is quite good. Very tasty and freshly made. Portions: in general i was very happy, but the only dish I felt was not proportional was the guacamole. Very little guacamole for the amount of tortilla chips you get. Drinks: good options between cocktails and softdrinks. Price: $$ not bad for the quantity and quality of food. Service: a bit chaotic and forgot one of our plates. But very friendly and everything solved quickly. Atmosphere: large space and fun decoration. Highlights: food is good. Things to improve: guacamole dish to offer more than just a little cup of guacamole. Payment Method: cash

Ambience, service and food first class. I had enchelados with cheese and nachos with chicken and cheese gratin. However, not being able to pay by card is completely out of date! So please get cash beforehand! There are a few ATMs on site, but you have to find out beforehand which bank cards are supported free of charge. However, the food and wine would be worth the effort 🤓👍

We had a lovely evening at La Batea. The food (tapas, tacos and enchiladas) was tasty, as was the wine. The prices are moderate, the service is friendly. We would definitely go again. There are only two points that block the way to 5 stars: although there weren't many guests, it was a bit difficult to get hold of the waitress from time to time. We also didn't like the fact that the spontaneous guitar music was quite loud and made it difficult to have a conversation, and the musicians then almost obsessively went from table to table to ask for money.

Favorite local bar, Dennise is a wonderful waitress, the drinks come quickly and the food is delicious

I had high hopes for it, but ended up being rather disappointed. The starter platter for two was delicious, although I would have liked some bread with it. I had read somewhere here that the enchiladas filled with chicken were supposed to be very tasty, but unfortunately they weren't at all. Somehow completely tasteless, actually not edible without the dips provided. The service was very friendly, but unfortunately she didn't point out to us beforehand that card payment wasn't possible until we got the bill. There was a note on the door, but it was open the whole time and the note couldn't be read when you came in. Thank God one of us had enough cash with us. Maybe we'll test it again at some point and hopefully we'll be pleasantly surprised.

A very old Chilean restaurant where you can eat fantastically. The red wine is very tasty, the trip is okay. I prefer the special salad with wonderfully pickled, sour, fresh fish!

We used to go to La Batea regularly and we also lived around the corner. We were back at La Batea after a long time and we felt very comfortable. The service was nice, the music was (almost) like it used to be! We ordered empanada and papas a la brava which were delicious. The Bebe Sepia con gambas takes some getting used to, we don't have to have it again. But we'd love to come back!

The food is sooo bad. Really disgusting at times. Service good and friendly. Waiting time for food is good. Ambiance is good.

Had reserved over a week in advance for a birthday. On that day (Saturday) they just said there were no reservations. I even showed the staff my confirmation email, which came in again on the same day as a reminder. The whole thing wouldn't have been so bad if there had been a simple apology from the staff. Unfortunately, on the contrary, we were sent out in a very unfriendly manner. Without a simple sorry or similar.

Friendly service in a nice atmosphere. The tapas as a mixed selection were solid, the paella, despite thirty minutes of preparation, stuck to the pan rather flat than light and airy.

Viel Auswahl zu günstigen Preisen. Einfach eingerichtet und sehr laut. Essen OK.

Trotz Reservierung, mussten wir 30 min warten weil wir alle nicht an dem reservierten Tisch gepasst haben. Das Essen kam 1.5 Stunden später, ich fand es trotzdem lecker. Das Restaurant war richtig voll und die Kellner hatten echt viel zu tun, das kann ich verstehen. Die Stimmung war sehr schön durch den Mann, der gesungen hat. Ansonsten wäre es sehr laut, keine Musik und unangenehm weil die Tische sehr eng gestellt wurden.

Ich kenne das La Batea seit seiner Gründung und war früher dort sehr gerne Gast. Nach längerer Pause war ich nun wieder dort - und enttäuscht. Mein geliebter Pastel de Choclo ist deutlich geschrumpft auf ein Maß, das nicht mehr satt macht, und der Preis dafür kräftig gestiegen. Der Service ist gut wie immer und die Getränkepreise sind okay, aber zum Essen gibt es bessere und günstigere Orte in der näheren Umgebung.

Essen meistens sehr lecker. Preis Leistung ist sehr gut und die Bedienung wirklich nett. Ich kann die empanadas de queso und die nachos con pollo safe empfehlen

Zum Glück gibt es solche Orte noch, an denen man sich einfach wohlfühlt.

Great brunch... variated and tasty, I would suggest a kinder toilette and wilckelraum (ikea has really cheap stuff for that)... for the rest me and my friends loved the place!

Gestern nach langer Zeit wieder im La Batea gewesen. Die Bedienung war für alle Gäste allein zuständig und dadurch natürlich überfordert. Die zwei! Cocktails (Pisco Sour) waren schlecht gemixt. Das Eiweiß war teilweise glitschig durch den Strohhalm gesogen worden, was eklig war. Das Essen war extrem mit Analog Käse bedeckt gewesen. Die Tacos (es waren Enchiladas, macht aber keinen Unterschied) waren nicht als solche zu erkennen. Leider habe ich noch am nächsten Tag einen "Stein" im Magen gehabt. Alles in allem eine Enttäuschung. Zusatz: fünf Cocktails ist eine klare Unterstellung! Kritik muß auch angenommen werden.

Very nice, great LATAM-Style food, great service, and very good, sizeable cocktails. They recently increased the prices a little bit, however this place is still a bargain compared to others nearby. Each day they offer 2 cocktails at a discounted rate. BTW, where else can you find an original Pisco Sour. 😀

Steak nicht wie gewünscht "medium" sondern als "well done" serviert und damit zur Schuhsohle mutiert, reklamieren ist nicht erwünscht! Cocktails sind gut, das Bestellen dieser eher schwierig ... nie wieder

Adiós La Batea. Ich war seit 1983 regelmäßig Gast im La Batea, Salate, Empanadas, Cocktails und Wein waren immer von bester Qualität . Nachdem ich im Mai 2022 dann endlich wieder mal da war, war mir von der etwas merkwürdig schmeckenden empanada vier Tage lang übel. Der Weißwein schmeckte nicht. Heute war ich dann doch mal wieder da, das war definitiv das letzte Mal: Der offene spanische Weißwein war trinkbar, aber mehr auch nicht, der Salat war lieblos zusammengestellt, das tolle LaBatea-Dressing gibt es nicht mehr, dafür irgendeine Salatsauce aus der Flasche. Schade.

My second time coming here and the food is good as always! This time there were Quesadillas and i just had to get them. They were delicious! They should definetly be on the menu!

Surprisingly bad. The food was the driest, blandest and most boring food we have encounter in a very long, long time. We were a table of 4 and couldn't get a grasp on how the food could be done with such a lack of love and care! There was not a single dish we ordered that felt even close to decent. Not to say the price we paid for such a bad meal... we couldn't understand how a nice place like that and good service could have such a bad outcome..... we ended up there because of the good rating on Google Maps... but clearly people that reviewed the place before have not eaten there... they have a really extensive menu... it's overwhelming and confusing as they cook Peruvian, Mexican, Spanish, Chilean, Argentinean dishes... but clearly they can't manage to do any of these right…

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre mit südamerikanischem Flair. Ausgezeichnet und sehr zu empfehlen ist die Ceviche, das ist in Citrussaft marinierter roher Seelachs mit Rucola, Zwiebeln, Koriander und frischer Chili. An warmen Tagen sehr erfrischend. Dazu ein Mojito und der Tag ist perfekt!

Ich kenne das Restaurant schon ewig und muss leider feststellen das es immer schlechter wird. Ich nehme eigentlich immer den selben Salat. Was mir da vorgesetzt wurde ist weit von dem entfernt was ich dort sonst erhalten habe. 90% Eisbergsalat und die sonst enthaltenen Oliven waren erst garnicht mehr vorhanden.Die weiteren Zutaten wie Gurke und Tomate waren auf ein Minimum reduziert. Ich muss noch erwähnen das ich diese Bewertung nicht schreibe weil dies ein einmaliger Ausrutscher war sondern ist eine Feststellung die bereits vor ca 1 Jahr ihren Anfang nahm. Sehr Schade

Sehr gemütliches südamerikanisches Ambiente. Die Speisekarte bietet typische südamerikanische Speisen, die mir von meinen Reisen in Südamerika bekannt sind. Ich war zusammen mit meinem Sohn und dessen brasilianischer Freundin da. Empanadas, Fleischspieß und Pastel de Choclo waren geschmacklich hervorragend. Es dauerte auch nicht lange, bis wir mit dem überaus freundlichen Personal ins Gespräch kamen. Wir fühlten uns im La Batea sehr wohl. Könnte mein Stammlokal werden, wenn ich in Berlin wohnen würde!

if we talking about atmosphere and place , this is one of the best Cafès or Restaurants in Berlin ever. they have Smoking room, non-Smoking room with some music that not loud like bars and also Outside table. they open until midnight at 2 PM, you can chill and relax with friends. its really complete. the food was really great. the dribks was also great! I really like that coffee with alcohol in it. its amazing vibe and super cozy. the waiters were really friendly. I would really like going there everytime. recommended.
