L´Osteria Aachen in Aachen

Ate here on a Friday evening. The restaurant has a fairly cozy and open appearance. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes very noisy. The service from the staff was friendly and attentive, as expected. Then the food and the price. The pizzas are large and with a thin base as it should be. However, not all of them are well invested. Some pizzas (like my Vegetariana) are even very poor. Then a slightly smaller and well-filled pizza is much better. Not all pizzas were served very hot and they are also served on cold plates. As a result, the pizza cools very quickly and the unfinished edge also hardens quickly. Opinions were divided regarding the taste. Some were satisfied or found the pizza very tasty, for others, including myself, I expected more. The pizza was mediocre in taste. You expect more at an Italian restaurant than from a takeaway pizza chain, but the one from a well-known chain in my area tastes much better and has better toppings and for a few euros less. Which brings me to the price. I thought the pizza (€16.75) was really too expensive for what was offered. The price of the drink is also a bit on the high side by German standards (€3.75 for a small Coke). Conclusion: The quality/taste varies between mediocre and good and all in all unfortunately too expensive for what is offered.

We were there late afternoon on Saturday and sat outside. The pizza was, as always, a blast - huge and very tasty. The pasta dish was also very tasty - however, the pasta was swimming in so much pesto that it was a shame not to serve some bread here. Unfortunately the service spoiled the enjoyment that day. The waiters were more concerned with themselves than with the guests. It was probably more important to chat with each other or organize the clearing of empty tables. From our point of view, the basic basics are missing here - the woman is first asked for her order (as a couple) and a farewell in the form of “...have a nice evening, have a nice weekend... etc.) and the question whether it As a guest you can expect that the food tasted good - even in times of staff shortages. Unfortunately, this impression ultimately remains.

The food tastes really good and the ambience is very nice. Unfortunately, the unprofessional waiters manage to completely ruin the stay. An example: You are served food without any cutlery on the table. If you politely ask the waitress for cutlery, she sets down a large basket of cutlery without saying a word, turns around and leaves. While we set our table ourselves, the waitress chats with a colleague five meters away. If it were possible, I would give zero stars for this miserable service.

Pizza are very tasty. Parking is also easy...

Went again a few months ago. Pizza was served stone cold. Indicated that I prefer to be served hot pizzas on which they have reheated them. This was no longer edible. Last Friday I checked again to see if there was any improvement. Unfortunately. Even if you have made a reservation and there are enough places, you will be dropped in the back somewhere. Ordered drinks and got nothing. Guests who ordered later already received their drinks. When asked, they had to take the drink again. Was the last time for us. They think they can afford poor service, arrogance and no attention. There are better pizza places in Aachen. Give those people credit.

You could feel very comfortable here and eat well if it weren't for the rude cleaning staff. I was passing through, drove 300 km and had to use the toilet before eating. There was a freshly wiped sign in front of the entrance to the men's room. As soon as I left the toilet, the cleaner shouted at me if I couldn't read, she had to clean there now - but up until that point I was nowhere to be seen. Even though I asked her calmly and kindly to explain the situation and the specific disadvantage for her, she just continued to shout. It doesn't make sense to me to "lock" the toilet when you're not wiping there. I don't go to the toilet just for fun... The food and service, however, were great, as I know it from other branches.

Bad service: Despite a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes for our seat, unfortunately we had to wait well over half an hour for the food, and we were only able to order new drinks after I got up and spoke to another waitress. But the food was good.

Pizza was super tasty, staff super friendly, visually an eye-catcher. Because there are so many places it is also quite loud, but that doesn't detract from it.

The food here, as well as the service and ambience, are great. The prices are, let's say, a little higher than normal. But you get a little more on offer here. There are enough parking spaces available. The bottom line: If you want to enjoy your meal a little longer with friends or family, you've come to the right place. I can recommend the store without reservation. For people who just want to "throw in" a pizza, the restaurant would be like "a pearl thrown before swine" due to the slightly higher price. So it's more for connoisseurs who want to spend some time here.

Great pizzas 🍕. Mega big and very tasty 😋 We'll be back and we'll be very hungry. If you can't finish the food, you can also have it packed up.

Waited over half an hour for food, the drinks were served incorrectly and when we reordered they weren't brought at all and the service was very poor

Delicious food, waiters very friendly Update September 2024: I was here for the second time today. A Friday evening. The restaurant was full to capacity. Of course, the atmosphere isn't exactly quiet... The staff is really super friendly. Despite the full house, someone was always there for us straight away. The food came really quickly. I had cream of pumpkin soup as a starter. It was delicious. The pasta with rocket pesto and shrimp as the main course were tasty.

Italian restaurant with a very good atmosphere. The pizza is huge (45 cm), but the dough is thin. It's a franchise, so they have restaurants in many places, but if you like Italian food, it's definitely worth a try.

Good pizzeria with young friendly staff. We were present with a larger group and were only asked to sit at the reserved table after waiting 2 minutes at the entrance. Overall, it is relatively loud due to the high ceilings and it was difficult to understand the operation when ordering. I thought it was great to be able to put together your pizza half and half with two different variants. The price for a (large flat) pizza is okay. Unfortunately, there was a small green vegetable particle from the dishwasher stuck to my drink glass and another person's lettuce was already weak and brown at the bottom. I couldn't see whether the Quattroformagi actually had enough of the 4 types of cheese on it. Ok for a meeting for dinner, but very unsuitable for a cozy dinner in my opinion.

We have been to L'Osteria in Aachen over 20 times (with family, work colleagues, friends) and everything was excellent. Still, it didn't occur to me to write a review for the restaurant. Yesterday we unfortunately went to a pizzeria in Laurensberg (the place with the Italian name, Italian radio playing in the background, 10 black tables and pizzas under €7) because we were close there. The service was terrible and the food was awash in tomato sauce. So, yes, there is no pizza at L'Osteria that costs less than €7 and that's a good thing! The service is very friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and the food tastes like in Italy. That has its price. @L'Osteria Team - please continue to welcome and cook for your guests like in Italy. You are always assured of our 5 star rating.

The Lósteria in Aachen is a very beautiful and modern Lósteria in terms of ambience. The ceilings are high and the entire store feels very spacious. There are also some parking spaces available. The food is particularly focused on the nicely sized pizzas, but there are also plenty of pastas and salads. Personally, I only ever eat pizza there. Conclusion: Recommended.

Even though everything was full and reserved, they took good care of us and still found a place for the five of us. There was even old pizza dough at a special table for children to play with. As always, the food was very good and the price was absolutely fair. We'd love to come back!

Typical system gastronomy. Personally, I would prefer any original pizzeria. Pizza is much too big so it gets cold quickly and is rather unappetizing. The taste is rather mediocre. But nice service and very quick. After 1 hour you are through there. More for young people.

Mainly greens, a few slices of radishes, mango that was too overripe, dressing that was way too acidic and a few pieces of beef (which was very tasty though). Price performance is not right here at all. Too bad. The Osteria still has to work on it, because a good salad works differently.

One of the best pizzerias in the region. There is even optional Nduja as a topping. Many pizzerias don't even know this.

We are long time customers at L'Osteria in Aachen. It's usually a great atmosphere, good service and we love the food. However, this time the pizza quality was not worth the price increase. The dough was thin as usual but super dry and the ingredients notably less than before. Service was good and I love the terrace. I hope that they will take in this feedback and continue to improve.

We like to go there. The pizzas are huge, the homemade pasta is super tasty. Of course everything has become a little more expensive, but the price-performance ratio is still right. However, we waited 45 minutes for the food, which I think was too long 😞

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. Had to wait an hour for our pizza. Unfortunately, it doesn't taste like it used to. The dough base was more of a lahmacun dough instead of pizza, hardly any cheese (the children's pizza had more cheese on it :D). I understand that everyone is raising prices right now, but at the same time making the pizza smaller and using fewer toppings is a double whammy. Many restaurateurs are just exploiting the situation.

You can sit outside in a lovely atmosphere. When is received and placed very friendly. Unfortunately, the young service staff were a bit demotivated that day, but that could also be due to the heat.

I've been here twice with my boyfriend. We ate on site once and took away once. The pizzas are delicious and very large. We also liked that there is the option to take a half-half pizza if you can't choose. The service is good, but the staff seems a bit rushed. The location is nicely decorated, but the restaurant is located along a busy road, so the atmosphere is not optimal. We definitely recommend eating here!

At L'Osteria Aachen it is always very tasty. Whether salad, pizza or pasta. I go there regularly and my dogs are also welcome. I can only recommend the restaurant.

We were given the wrong food and our dog wasn't offered water in the hot weather... some of the waiters were very playful. The food didn't blow us away either.

A €3.50 espresso doesn't even come with a glass of tap water or a biscuit and sugar... what kind of service it's simply unacceptable and I don't think they have any idea about gastronomy

It was a very nice experience. As a group of 10+ people, we were able to reserve in advance and were well looked after. The food came quickly (even though we were more than 10 people) and was very tasty. Please note: If you sit outside, you may be surrounded by several smokers, which can be a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise great👍🏻

We wanted to try out osteria in Aachen. Immediately when we sat down we were given the (drinks) menu and asked what we would get as an aperitif. Since we didn't have time to look at the menu, I ordered a port, a what? The young lady had never heard of Port... By the way, the glasses were sparsely filled for what they cost. As a starter a carpatio and a vitello tonato, the carpatio had no taste, the vitello only had taste when half a centimeter thick sauce was added. The main course was a pasta carbonara, which was fine, and a Pizza pizza caperciosa, the pizza was not cut and also very difficult to cut yourself as the plate was much smaller than the pizza. Bottom line, no repeat for us.

The pizzas are delicious, it's great that you can choose half-half from different types of pizzas. It's just a pity that something went wrong with our order both times we were there. Having to wait extra long and not getting food at the same time. The 2nd time we had been waiting for over an hour and they said 2-3 minutes maybe 10 it will be ready. Everyone who arrived later had already eaten or they still had to start our meal. The food was there, except for 1 pizza, and we waited at least 5 minutes for it. Fortunately, the pizzas are well received, otherwise we would not come back here anytime soon.

I was served cheese made from cow's milk with my vegan pizza. Unfortunately, it was only at home that I realized this 100% because of stomach problems.

Great food as always but very loud atmosphere

Extremely large and perfect pizza. Normally I eat until I'm somewhat full, but when I saw the monstrous Margherita pizza, I had already given up. After the first bite, however, I knew what a gift I had in front of me and just couldn't stop. But the staff was also incredible. The whole time with a smile on their faces, the waiters ran back and forth between the tables and fulfilled the guests' every wish. The service was incredibly friendly and funny. We sat outside. The service was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a pizza and it didn't fit on the plate because it was too big. The cutting knife was dull so it was a struggle to cut the pizza. However, it tasted very good. Maybe you should buy new knives.

Great atmosphere, the pizza is huge and delicious, the service is very friendly. There was a coloring page for the children, but the wait wasn't long. I found the drinks quite expensive, but there were relatively cheap children's meals. All in all we were very satisfied. A great alternative to truck stops, very quick to reach from the motorway.

Ordered there online, two normal pizzas. On the website it said a 35 minute wait until pickup. So okay, waited, went there. I got there on time, but I still had to wait about 30 minutes for the two pizzas in the restaurant. That was of course a rather unpleasant experience. Turns out the kitchen made a mistake and made the wrong pizzas. The waiter who took the online orders apologized after waiting 20 minutes and offered me an iced tea on the house, so he was super nice and accommodating in that respect. Still not a great thing, of course, it can happen, but it was still super annoying to wait at the counter for another 30 minutes because I was hungry. Overall, the pizzas were large and tasty, so if that doesn't happen to you, you can go there

Unfortunately not recommended. Our pizzas were ordered for pickup and one of the pizzas was completely incorrectly recorded on site. The service staff on site was already drunk by lunchtime and recited all the names of the employees. After we wanted to complain about the order, no one answered the phone after several attempts.
