Very tasty, homemade style food. Big portions for good price.

The service was very friendly and welcomed us very nicely even though we were in the restaurant 5 minutes early before it even opened. Unfortunately, a few dishes were out, which is why 1 star was deducted. (I don't eat pork, unfortunately there was no turkey or beef left). The cheese spaetzle were also very tasty, which the waitress had recommended to us. All 5 of us enjoyed the food. Everything worked very well with Schlemmerblock. We would be happy to come back even without a block.

Were with a gourmet block, neither the pork crusts nor the beef was there, then the salad was nothing, they didn't want vinegar, it came with old, rancid oil! Then we wanted to take the food with us in what was supposed to be a new bowl, see picture, we didn't take the food with us, at first we were thrilled by the ambience but sorry, that was a total grab... Thank you, we were there twice, the first and the last time! What is the solution?? As for the takeaway, that was just a courtesy

Parking is really a problem. And unfortunately more than half of the dishes were not available.

Good middle class, as you would imagine, friendly service and a cozy, not aloof atmosphere. The food is good and also reasonably priced.

The service seemed stressed and quite unfriendly from the start. We were there with the gourmet block, but only mentioned that we had it with us shortly after ordering. That was a problem, but the waitress apparently accommodated us out of goodwill. Ultimately, we noticed afterwards that instead of €15.30 (price for a cheaper main course), we only received a discount of €7.90 (approximately the price of the drink). There was nothing wrong with the food. In response to your answer: I know how to use the gourmet block. I forgot it when I ordered (also due to the stressed service) and made it up 2 minutes later. If that's too late, then I have to accept that, but then it has to be communicated that way and then I would have liked to keep the Schlemmerblock snippet. So we weren't told that only (not even the whole!) the price of the drink would be deducted, but rather communicated that an exception would be made and we could use the gourmet block as normal. We found this incorrect communication a shame and unfortunately gave us an uneasy feeling.

The food was really delicious and the portion was large. We had schnitzel with fried potatoes and a small side salad. The price is also okay, the drinks maybe a bit expensive. But all in all great with the gourmet block! It would be desirable to label allergens etc. Dairy products were definitely not marked on the menu. However, I am surprised that so few people report unfriendly service here. Our waitress was neither friendly when greeting us, nor when serving us, and certainly not when collecting the cash. She also rudely pointed out free tables to other guests, etc. What a shame!

Small and cozy restaurant. Good food and perfectly priced. I had a Tyrolean cheese schnitzel. Schnitzel with a crispy cheese crust. Awesome stuff. :-)

Found the Kyffhäuser via the Schlemmerblock. Everything worked out great. Very tasty food in a rustic atmosphere. Portions are sufficient. Price reasonable.

Quaintly furnished restaurant which is quietly located a bit out of the way. Cordon Bleu was outstanding and the portions were huge. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely coming back next time!

Absolutely rustic, fantastic schnitzel, where you can hear the knocking in the dining room. Everything is incredibly fresh and even the fried potatoes are absolutely not greasy, which is now a rarity. The price/performance level is incredible given the location and we were served very nicely by Manuela and her younger colleague

We recommend! We came here for the first time based on a recommendation, but we'll definitely be back soon. This is our “Schnitzel-Hunger-Main-Address”. Rustic atmosphere. When we were there the window front was open and you had an “outside feeling”. The food was great! Crisp salad, meat freshly prepared and super tender, the breading is a dream and the fries are crispy. The apricot house schnapps as a drink was also perfect. Only the service person was alone and we felt sorry for her, she really rushed to serve everyone! All respect that she was so super friendly and accommodating! See you soon!

Great food, great portions, everything freshly prepared. Tastes amazing. The service, the attention unbeatable. It's rare these days to experience such a great restaurant where everything is harmonious and the price is totally justified. Not overpriced. Small and quaint but exactly what I welcome after a long day of touring. We were 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 13)

Wir waren Samstag Abend dort zum Essen. Das Lokal war gut besucht. Die Einrichtung war urig /rustikal. Alles hat gepasst. Für uns auf jeden Fall. Die Servickraft war allein und trotzdem ging ihr alles freundlich und schnell von der Hand. Hut ab. Das Essen war sehr gut. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

The inn is furnished in a quaint/rustic style. It fits Neuenheim's oldest restaurant. Price-performance ratio was also good. The service person was alone but had everything under control and was still friendly. Hats off to you for your performance this evening. We'd love to come back. Can only recommend it.

We've eaten at Kyffhäuser several times during various stays in Heidelberg, which is due to the good, classic German cuisine. However, the service can be expanded. Since there is obviously a lack of staff, you sometimes wait longer for food and drinks. We also noticed that guests' requests were rejected using flimsy arguments. It's a shame, because the food and the location in Neuenheim are really good.

Every time I come here I am surprised at how good the food is. Wine is drinkable, portions are generous and tasty and service is very quick. One of the best schnitzels in Heidelberg.

I ve read good reviews about this restaurant but the truth is that the experience was much better than I could expect. Situated in convenient location, really beautiful and cosy inside the friendly staff is willing to help by the time you arrive till you leave. Big menu with big portions and absolutely value for money. I think I tasted the best Knödel I ve tried in Germany so far. I will sure visit again whenever I will be back in Heidelberg. All the prizes won are more than well deserved

Cozy restaurant outside the tourist area. Very friendly service and above all very tasty food! You can see and taste that it is homemade and cooked with love. Someone here still knows something about his craft. Absolutely recommended!!

We became aware of the Schlemmerblock. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was good, middle-class. The dishes were good, some very good. Price-performance was ok thanks to the gourmet block. But both the drinks and the salads are overly expensive.

Food was great. Employees very nice. Prices okay.

Good value for money and generous quantity. The only problem was that they only accept debit cards (which is very rare). Fortunately the waiter was kind, we were able to pay it via PayPal, but that cost us at least 15 minutes...

We came here via the Schlemmerblock and what can I say, we were all very excited. Food, ambience, service, everything was top. We'll definitely come back again.

Although I have lived in Heidelberg for years, today was my first time in Kyffhäuser. The gourmet block took my girlfriend and me there. We were both very pleased with our food (pancakes with mushroom sauce / Bavarian Cordon Bleu filled with Obazda, with fried potatoes). Both meals came with a really tasty and crunchy mixed salad. Manuela, the service person, was very accommodating. We will come back in any case.

The tastiest spinach dumplings you've ever tasted! In addition, the service is very warm and you feel very comfortable all around!

Very cozy restaurant, unfortunately there is a lack of parking space

Yesterday we visited Kyffhäuser for the first time through the Schlemmerblock and it definitely won't be the last time! You can hardly get such good home-style cuisine these days, the lady in service was super nice and the restaurant is also very nicely decorated. Parking is a bit difficult, but the tram isn't far away!

The food was very good. Generous portions and therefore reasonable prices. Parking spaces directly at the restaurant are difficult to find. Recommendation would be to park on the banks of the Neckar and walk the short distance to the restaurant. We would like to come again.

I've been there many times and absolutely loved both the service and the food. However, the last two times were characterized by unfriendliness. At first I was there with a friend when we were jumped by the blonde waitress because the door didn't close behind us and we didn't notice it straight away. Since the door didn't close after other guests (who, however, were not reprimanded), my friend noticed that something was jammed. After she fixed it, the door closed by itself. (It would actually have been the service person's job.) The drink orders were also ignored and waved away. The young man behind the counter was then given orders to continue serving us. We were ignored by the service staff until we paid. But then she started making endless excuses. Maybe she noticed her misbehaving. The last time I was there was with my son and Schlemmerblock. First there was an unfriendly discussion about it having expired, then she noticed “2024”. No apology. Receiving the order from above. The same game as last time again. The young man was allowed to continue serving us. The blonde lady seemed completely overwhelmed both times. The guests can't do anything about it. Some were sent away without a reservation, while others were allowed to stay. Is the decision based on sympathy? Anyway, I was very disappointed. The young man behind the counter was very friendly. The food, as always, was very tasty. I've really enjoyed staying at Kyffhäuser so far, but I've lost the fun the last two times...

We were with a group in the next room and therefore among ourselves. The conditions were very friendly and fun. The food was very good and freshly prepared. The salad was also crunchy and tasty. The dessert (Kaiserschmarrn) was great, as we know it from the Alps. The prices were also reasonable (cheap for Heidelberg) and the portions were very good. We'll definitely go there again.

A real tip for this fine, small restaurant. The cuisine is magical, excellently prepared dishes and the service is extremely warm. We'd be happy to drive a little further for that. Warm greetings from Malschenberg to the whole team 👋

The restaurant is quite remote in the Neuenheim district. So it's more of an insider tip. We became aware of this through the Schlemmerblock. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is rather rustic but cozy. The food was a treat. My partner had the roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage and I had the pancakes with spinach and savory cheese (hoping that the portion wasn't that big) and salad. Both meals were generously portioned and extremely tasty. What was also positive for me: the information that the food can only be taken away in deposit boxes. We'll definitely be back.

Waren mit dem Schlemmerblock hier - und hätten uns sonst vermutlich nicht hierher "verirrt", da das Restaurant doch etwas abseits gelegen ist. Werden aber definitiv wiederkommen: Super Schnitzel, leckere Knödelvariation - lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, wenn man gut bürgerlich (regionale Küche) sucht. Einziges kleines "Manko": Uns wurde im Vorfeld gesagt, dass ausreserviert sei - allerdings waren den ganzen Abend noch einige Plätze frei...

Essen war lecker. Das Schnitzel wurde noch per Hand geklopft. Manuela hat uns toll bedient :) Gerne wieder!

Wir waren jetzt mehrfach zu Besuch im Kyffhäuser und waren jedes Mal begeistert. Ob Cordon Bleu, die Knödel oder der Sauerbraten. Alle Speisen waren sowohl von der Protionsgröße als auch vom Geschmack top. Das Kyffhäuser ist mehr als nur einen Besuch wert!

Perfekter Abend. Leckeres Essen und eine ruhige Atmosphäre ohne lauter Musik, wunderbar um sich in Ruhe unterhalten zu können!!!

Wir sind durch den Schlemmerblock auf dieses Lokal aufmerksam geworden. Wir bestellten Rinderschmorbraten und Schweinekrustenbraten. Als die Bedienung aus der Küche zurückkam teilte Sie Uns mit dass beides aus sei. Daraufhin bestellten Wir um und wurden geschmacklich enttäuscht. Dazu bestellten Wir einen Salat und wollten Essig zum nachwürzen bekamen jedoch ein Öl hingestellt das einen üblen Beigeschmack hatte. Auch wollte ich das Essen meiner Partnerin mitnehmen. Wir bekamen eine angeblich neue Kunststoffdose die völlig verfettet war.Das war des guten zuviel

Gestern mal wieder super essen gewesen(07.11.). Passt einfach alles!!! Authentisches und sehr leckeres Essen, kombiniert mit dem super aufmerksamen Service. Jederzeit gerne wieder!!!

Nettes, gut bürgerliches Restaurant mit echt leckeren und deftigen Gerichten. Wir waren mit einem Gutschein aus dem Schlemmerblock dort und werden wieder hingehen. Nette Bedienung. Leider weiß ich den Namen nicht mehr

Op aanraden hier gereserveerd. Eten was lekker en genoeg. Ook de bediening was prettig en gezellig. Twee schnitzels per persoon. Vooraf een salade voor de vitamimen. Erg lekker en naar NL maatstaven niet duur.

Einfach geil. Tip top Service. Essen vom aller feinsten. Eine absolute Reise ins gutbürgerliche Wert. Wer in Heidelberg nicht dort war , hat gute Küche und perfekte Gastlichkeit verpasst. Sechs Sterne für alles.😘

Wir waren zu viert an einem der Tische draußen. Es war nicht viel los zu diesem Zeitpunkt. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren üppig. Der Service wirkte sehr gestresst und konnte unsere Bestellung nicht gleich als Ganzes aufnehmen, da sie wohl keinen Stift und Papier hatte. Daher musste sie auch mehrmals nachfragen, was wir bestellt hatten. Als ich drinnen auf die Toilette ging, begrüßte ich die Bardame, die im Gespräch mit ihrer Kollegin war. Sie hörte dies wohl nicht und regte sich auf, dass man ihr nicht „Hallo“ gesagt hätte. Als ich mein Essen gerne einpacken wollte, hieß es, dass dies aus Nachhaltigkeit „heute“ nicht möglich sei (es gab allerdings auch keine Alternative wie Vytal-Boxen). Auf Nachfrage wurde mir dann zum Glück doch noch etwas zum Einpacken gegeben. Fazit: Essen wirklich zu empfehlen, Service war an diesem Tag wohl gestresst.

Einfaches Gasthaus mit leckerem Essen. Wurden 1x weggeschickt weil ausgebucht, aber am nächsten Tag ging es.

Ich war gestern dort das erste Mal essen, es war super super lecker. Die Schnitzel wurden frisch geschlagen und paniert, die Pommes so knackig und frisch einfach super lecker. Es ging schnell alles war frisch und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis top. Ich komm auf jeden Fall wieder.

Betriebsausflug... es wurde super organisiert. Essen kam bei den Kollegen gut an. Geschmack klasse, die Menge mehr als ausreichend. Kompliment an die Küche. Es wird Behälter für den Rest zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich. Der Service war nett und zuvorkommend.

Super leckeres Essen ( tolles Schnitzel und Spinatknödl) und guter Wein. Die Bedienung ist super nett und gut drauf, Suzka und ihre Kollegin sind einfach Klasse!! Danke für den tollen Abend und wenn wir wieder nach Heidelberg kommen dann zum Essen nur bei Euch.

….man etwas mehr Liebe in die Sauberkeit investieren würde. Beim Besuch der Toiletten kam mir fast das Essen wieder hoch. (Siehe Foto) Ansonsten war das Essen schmackhaft und ordentlich angerichtet. Die Preise sind durchaus angemessen. Die Lokalität macht einen urigen Eindruck, daher ist es auch nicht ganz so schlimm, dass das Mobiliar eher abgewohnt erscheint. Die Servicekraft war flink und freundlich. Parkmöglichkeiten sind nur sehr wenige an den Straßen im Umfeld vorhanden. Da muss man schon Glück haben. Unter dem Strich würde ich dieses Lokal nicht empfehlen.
