Kutscherhaus in Gera

A very pleasant restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but we were given a table anyway. The food was TOP.

I celebrated my 65th yesterday, super careful service, delicious cake and dinner, many thanks to the team, I was very satisfied 👍🏻see you next time 🙏

Very nicely decorated restaurant. With the possibility of celebrating separately in a closed company. The service is tried hard, but like everywhere else you can't do more than work. The food was sufficient and everyone enjoyed it 😋. The selection also had something for every taste, from vegetarian to schnitzel, to burger pizza 🍕 to homemade ice cream.

Always delicious food. The dumplings are particularly recommended.

The waitresses are super friendly. I ate a steak, it was on point. We didn't have to wait long for anything. It was a lovely evening all around! Thank you very much

Very nice restaurant and good food.

When I asked for fried potatoes instead of roasted potatoes, the waitress told me that they were the same thing. No it's not. Pizza was a frozen pizza from wholesale, rarely eaten such a bad one. The taste of the schnitzel was ok, but the portion was too expensive for €20. I ate a schnitzel and 1/3 of a pizza and I'm still hungry. I can't miss anyone here.

Wir haben mit Google ein Restaurant gesucht, das in der Nähe unseres Hotels liegt und sind auf das Kutscherhaus mit vielen guten Bewertungen gestoßen. Kurz entschlossen sind wir nach einem Spaziergang durchs Zentrum dort vorbeigegangen. Als wir eintraten, wirkten alle sehr beschäftigt und wir haben uns einen freien Platz gesucht. 15 Minuten später haben wir eine Bedienung nach der Karte gefragt. Sie gab uns eine, holte dann aber eine Kollegin, die uns fragte, ob wir reserviert hätten. Wir sagten "nein" und kassierten einen unfreundlichen Anraunzer. Die Tische wären alle reserviert und wir hätten uns beim Personal erst einmal melden müssen. Aber weder gab es am Eingang einen Hinweis darauf, dass man hier platziert wird, noch stand auf dem Tisch ein "Reserviert"-Schild, wie man sie aus allen anderen Restaurants kennt. Uns hat auch niemand beachtet als wir ankamen. Woher hätte man also wissen sollen, dass man sich vorher anzumelden hat? Haben wir so noch nirgendwo erlebt und hätten uns eine etwas freundlichere Aufklärung gewünscht. Schließlich wurden wir an den letzten freien Tisch für "Unreservierte" gelotst und von da an wurden wir dann auch von einer sehr netten, flinken Serviererin bedient. Es ging schnell, das Essen war sehr gut und das Ambiente im Kutschenhaus auch. Nur Schade, dass der holprige, unfreundliche Start das sein wird, was wir mit diesem Restaurant in Verbindung bringen.

Today we had dinner in the coach house. (Driven almost 250 km because of moving) 1. We have had enough 2. Very friendly and fast service 3. I can only recommend it to EVERYONE We were there in the afternoon and had the Viennese style schnitzel with fried potatoes and creamed mushrooms. My companion, who had eaten the same thing, was a trained chef and had been a host for years, said: The chef knows something about his craft and you can taste the passion for his work. Lage und Ausstattung sind perfekt, viel Liebe zum Detail. Schöne große Gartenterrasse auf verschiedenen Ebenen. Beim Essen selbst muss man leider Abstriche machen. Die ,,Tapas" Vorspeisen sind Mini für 6,90 €, Melone Schinken geht noch, aber die 2 Camembert- Ringe sind einfachstes Fertigprodukt, keine 5 cm Durchmesser und dazu gibt es nur Preiselbeeren. Geschmacklich und für den Geldbeutel ein Reinfall. Leider! Es gibt doch viel bessere Tapas. Oder wenigstens hochwertigeren Ziegenkäse mit kl. Extras.

Very friendly staff and the food is also very tasty

I really like the Kutscherhaus: Great location with a really nice atmosphere, the food and cake are great, and the service team is always friendly. What was a little negative during the last few visits (3x) was that there weren't enough service staff at the start and everything took forever. Waiting 30-40 minutes for a menu and drinks is just too long. I hope things get better soon.

Good home cooking at fair prices.

We were there for dinner this evening and were greeted very warmly, served quickly and in a super friendly manner. We were able to sit outside comfortably. Many greetings again to the kitchen: it was super tasty, beautifully prepared and there was something for every taste. The price/performance was completely ok. I haven't eaten so well for a long time, we'd love to come back!

Bad food and even worse service. Sultry and annoyed right from the start.

Unfortunately not a good experience: They said they couldn't arrange anything outside for 10 people (there would have been space). It's better to let people cook inside at 28.5° - it was like being in a sauna. The staff seems passive aggressive and annoyed when choosing the order. They said on the phone that dogs were welcome, and when we asked for a bowl of water for them, they pointed out rather harshly that there was already one outside. All in all, quite a failure. The food wasn't particularly great either. We had burgers where the patty and cheese were already cold and the salad that came with it wasn't the best either. But we're not complainers and generally try not to cause any problems for the staff. However, at the end the staff came to us of their own accord and obligatory asked whether everything was tasty, whereupon we pointed out the deficiencies. We thought people were interested in honest criticism and wanted to improve. That turned out to be a fallacy. She took it very negatively and said she would pass it on to the kitchen. Shortly afterwards the waitress appeared and told us that if we didn't like something, we should say something straight away next time. Well - I can say with certainty that there will be no next time!

The main thing to complain about is the service. You didn't feel welcome. Both waitresses seemed annoyed and you were given the feeling that you should order, eat and leave as quickly as possible. Table was reserved for 11 people, but only set for 10. Discussions had to be held about the fact that the reservation was actually made for 11 people. Food was OK. However, there were also minor failures here, such as burger meat not being cooked through. Furthermore, very loud music in the restaurant, so conversation was difficult. Later the music was turned down a little.

Always worth a visit. Delicious food and something to behold - beautifully prepared. Portion sufficient. Great ambience and friendly service. Public parking available at the coach house, free for 2 hours. In the coach house, it must be remembered that the toilet is on the 1st floor and can only be reached via stairs; as far as I know, this is not accessible for wheelchair guests.

Nicely furnished with capacity for large groups. The taste of the burger was okay, but it seemed to have been prepared in a hurry: there was only cheese on half of the meat, and most of the lettuce was completely missing. I completely missed a tomato. The rolls are also too big in relation to the topping. Prices are fair.

We actually only know the Kutscherhaus positively, with a great atmosphere and good food. Unfortunately we were also very disappointed today. The first drinks reached us after about 30 minutes. It all started with one too many beers brought (no problem, it happens!) which we simply left on the table. After it took 45 minutes to order the food and the starters arrived at some point, we didn't receive one starter at all and one twice (it can happen, no problem!). I tried to speak to a member of staff (blonde hair, a bit older - big praise! She was super friendly and kind and took care of my questions and immediately took care of the missing starter). Less than 5 minutes later, the lady who served our table came and started telling us that we had ordered wrong and started arguing with us. Completely horrified, I made it clear to her that this was the wrong way to go. Then she blamed the order errors on her colleagues. (Speaks for a very collegial team!) Unfortunately, the food was more than disappointing, the pizza tasted like cardboard and the rest wasn't really that great either. The employee (tall and blonde, short hair) who has already been noticed in the other reviews for her unfriendly and arrogant manner seems to be the same person who unfortunately made our visit a very disappointing and expensive experience. You should urgently seek a clarifying conversation here. No insight, no apology and worst of all, no respect for a paying guest who finances their wages. When we asked for a supervisor, we were smiled in our faces and gleefully told there was no one there today, before turning around and leaving. That's really a pity!

We went to the coach house for lunch today. A group of 7 people. The selection is plentiful and everyone enjoyed the food. Everyone had something different and everything was delicious. The highlight was the cake. For me there was a piece of apple pudding cake. Extremely delicious. The service staff is super friendly and totally quick. The location itself is clean and invites you to stay. Thank you. 🙏

Here you can eat very well in a very attractive atmosphere. I have never eaten a better roulade! The service staff is very friendly and quick, so the slightly longer waiting time can be easily tolerated due to the high volume of visitors.

We were here today by invitation. Everything looks great, everything is clean, very friendly service staff. But the problems began immediately afterwards. Relatively long waiting time after the starter until the main course. It would be bearable if the cream of asparagus soup hadn't been heavily over-salted and probably had a little bit of asparagus but a lot of it. For the main course I ordered steak au four with fried potatoes. My salad side dish had been cut by someone with gross motor skills, the pork was fried to a Sahara dry state, but the potatoes were very, very dark on one side and natural on the other side and had a very elastic consistency. So just bad. The really friendly woman at the service didn't seem really surprised by my criticism and acknowledged my reason for returning the plate with a knowing smile. My wife's meal, roulade with Thuringian dumplings according to the menu, was slightly better, sauce was definitely not made with the roulade, it was also hard salted, dumplings were rubbery, red cabbage from the bag. Maybe today was just a bad day in the kitchen, but with today's impression, there's no reason to visit the store again.

Very cozy restaurant. The staff was friendly & accommodating. The food was very tasty and the menu selection was sufficient and varied. The only negative point - if you're not that good on foot, it's not easy to get to the toilet, which can only be reached via a long staircase on the first floor.

I'm very sorry, but the food wasn't good at all. Fried potatoes burnt, schnitzel was just fine, salad on the plate was careless, and on the plate there was a small bowl with a strand of cauliflower in an indefinable sauce. I'm not coming back.

A very nice restaurant with a great range of dishes, cakes and tarts, ice cream variants... However, the service left a lot to be desired! Worst service we've ever had! From shaking the head, rolling the eyes to a lively, gossipy exchange with a colleague, everything was there! This wasn't the first time and when we responded, there was no apology or anything like that. If you can still go out to eat these days, it's not too much to ask to be treated properly and politely, is it? Big compliments once again to the kitchen, the bakers etc.!!! It was super tasty and that's why we'll definitely come back. If the service thinks it is overworking itself again, we will act differently.

We recommend! Best quality and good taste, fast, friendly service at reasonable prices! Sauerbraten was outstandingly good! Good parking and beautiful guest garden! There are no table reservations on weekends, but thanks to the fast service there are always free tables! We're coming back from Bavaria!

I was 6/4 yesterday. Eating coffee and cake with my daughter and a friend. What we didn't know was that there was unfortunately a demo in the parking lot next door that day. But I thought well, we'll go in anyway, it was already very full when we arrived and within a short time it became fuller with guests from the demo. We didn't let it bother us at first, it was a bit like being in the cinema when someone was watching, what bothered me was that we were served by the waitress as if we were part of this group, a bit annoyed and condescending. We didn't have 3 colored flags, we still had three-colored hats on, so you could see how easy it was to have guests who wanted to have a coffee and a piece of cake. It was full and she seemed to be all alone, I understand that it was stressful, but we would maybe come by every now and then and so you should make sure that you don't get served in such a condescending manner. At the end I asked the boss himself a very simple question. I could definitely have answered it with a smile because I was simply interested, but the only answer I got was "because that's just the way it is," thank you very much. I come from the catering industry myself and think a bit of tact in all situations would be appropriate here. But the cake was delicious, of course I want to mention that too.

This was the second time I was in the coach house. At half past six there is no more filter coffee. This is only for afternoon guests, then the machine is switched off. There is no choice for lactose intolerances. It's very loud from the neighboring tables, so you can't hear anyone at the other end of your table. The waitresses don't care. No smiles, no attention to empty glasses or glasses are put away where there is still something in them. The food looks nice, but the taste is clearly like frozen food without any flavor. Opening times, it will close when only 1/2 tables are occupied, i.e. before the end of regular opening hours. The building is very beautiful. However, it's not enough to recommend it!

Always happy to come here. The food is very tasty and there is a huge selection of cakes. We recommend. But it's best to reserve a table beforehand! There is one point deducted for the ambience. It is sometimes very loud, especially when you are sitting next to a group of people in the winter garden.

We were tourists in Gera. We enjoyed delicious Thuringian cuisine in various restaurants. Now we wanted to go to the Kutscherhaus. Never ever again!!!! We wanted to sit at a table and were very rudely told not to sit there. Apparently the table was reserved, no sign on the table, no notice. We asked when, and the answer was, from now!!! It's a very unfriendly manner that you encounter there. We later told friends who knew it. So, actually no star from us. The way they treat guests there is very unprofessional.

My child and I waited 25 minutes for the waiter to come up and take the order. When the waiter came up and I started ordering dishes, she said that the kitchen was overloaded and we had to wait a little longer to order food.

The waitress didn't seem to have much interest in working... It feels like the food is designed for quick throughput. The size of my pepper steak was a disgrace. Black on one side and white on the other side. The complaint was initially referred to the kitchen. It was positive that one drink was taken off the bill. There were four of us there. But also as a unique experience. A pity

The waitress doesn't smile... she spills red cabbage on my dress when I put the plate down and doesn't even say sorry, although I saw in the mirror that she saw it clearly too. To eat: Rump steak with fried potatoes, by far the most expensive dish, is absolutely not recommended. The meat was very gristly and had a lot of fat, the fried potatoes probably never saw a pan. Salami pizza was almost inedible due to the cheese. The burgers were very dry The remaining 5 meals were good... we recommend the schnitzel, the roulade and the duck leg

After about 5 visits over a long period of time, I have to say: I'd love to have a coffee. Just because of the delicious tarts/cakes. But the hearty dishes/dishes are not for us: little choice, few spices, nothing that calls for repetition... Unfortunately.

Dear colleagues from the Kutscherhaus, you had a lot to do in the evening at prime supper time. The fish dish with beetroot risotto was very good to excellent. The fish was juicy, the risotto was slightly fluffy and until firm, the beetroot was cooked properly. The second meal was underwhelming. Dear colleagues, fresh fried potatoes look different. You can't, or don't have to, drown the pepper steak with the pepper sauce unless you want to cover up the quality of the steak. We sat in the upper part of the restaurant and were very surprised at the noise level. We could only talk while shouting, although that wasn't the absolute highlight. A group of young foreign citizens shot the bird. All the guests shook their heads and turned good minis into bad things. We left the restaurant somewhat dismayed. A big plus of the coach house is the adjacent courtyard meadow parking lot. The service was very quick, effective and friendly. I wish all colleagues a nice time, stay healthy and much success and fun in your gastronomy profession.
