Krumme Linde im Alten Fritz in Berlin

Very disappointed with the experience. We went with a 2-year old toddler, and the food took over an hour to arrive. Once it finally arrived, it was so tasteless we sent most of it back. Considering the high prices charged, an extremely regrettable experience all round. Won't be going back.

We were truly disappointed! We waited a very long time, and when we asked, we were told that a chef was sick – but they could have told us that before we ordered. Furthermore, the food was a disaster. We're not particularly picky and have never returned anything, but the food was not only cold, but also overcooked and rancid. However, we were told we couldn't return it because my husband had already eaten too much of it. So, over 50 euros for a complete disaster – don't do it!

The atmosphere is okay, and so is the staff. But the entrance area smells strongly of sewage. I saw an employee smoke in the kitchen and then work right there (without washing his hands), and the kitchen floor was very dirty. The food wasn't tasty.

We celebrated our wedding at the Alte Fritz a few days ago and couldn't be happier! We made the right choice of location and can highly recommend it. Even the outdoor ceremony in the beautiful garden with a pond was a dream – everything was perfectly prepared and supervised. Even with uncertain weather conditions, we were immediately provided with help and equipment. During the planning and preparation phase, we received prompt support with any questions and always felt well advised. At the buffet, you can put together your favorite menu for your celebration from various in-house menus. The food was delicious, and there are also vegan options. For the wedding cake, we were recommended a neighboring pastry shop, which also delivered a top-notch service. The entire team was incredibly welcoming, supported us wonderfully, and was there for us at all times. The hall can accommodate up to 150 people and can be easily divided. There is direct access to the terrace and garden and a small anteroom for the buffet, cloakroom, and anything else you wouldn't want in the main room, such as a photo corner. The evening staff was also fantastic – attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. Our guests felt completely at home. Thank you so much for making our special day so unforgettable! 💖 Timo & Lora

Really damn good food and a really nice waiter. We waited about 20 minutes for our ordered dishes, optimal time. Our knuckle was so crispy that it really crunched when we cut it. The veal liver was also fried to perfection and served very decoratively and richly with mashed potatoes, onions, apples and sauce. Afterwards we had some Kaiserschmarrn and then went for a walk with our dog in the Tegeler Forest next door. We'll definitely be back!

The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that impressive. We'd love to try it again another time!

Simply PERFECT, it actually deserves many more stars. The food is top-notch, the knuckle of pork is a dream, non-alcoholic wheat beer is on tap, with alcohol of course, and the service is simply fantastic and thinks for itself 🥰🥰🥰🥰 The prices are absolutely reasonable. Highly, truly, highly recommended 😍

Berlin's oldest and most historic restaurant is beautifully situated between Alt-Tegel and the Tegel Forest. It features a lovely beer garden with a bio-idyll feel outside and a rustic atmosphere inside. It's ideal for a stopover by bike or on foot. It's also easily accessible by car, with free parking. Good, solid German cuisine at a fair price. Friendly service. We really enjoyed it.

I celebrated my birthday there yesterday in the beer garden. It was a great visit. The waiter, Mo, was not only friendly and attentive, but also had a great sense of humor. We felt well looked after throughout. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared. A definite recommendation—we'd be happy to come back.

The menu gives hope for good food, but unfortunately the food came unseasoned with frozen vegetables, a NOGO!! Staff overwhelmed

Two stars from me. We were there today with a larger group. Not the first time. Overall, the impression was very mediocre. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, and some barely spoke German. They didn't ask for the size of the drinks; they simply placed a large one on the table. Then the food was cleared away more or less without comment. There was no "Did you enjoy your meal?" or a smile. The prices are too high considering the quality of the food. The schnitzel (veal) was only partially crispy, the meat tough, stringy, and not very flavorful. The fried potatoes were okay. The portion size was mediocre. Ketchup was charged extra. There's no side dish for the schnitzel (€22); it has to be ordered separately. The lemons were all dried out, as if they were from the day before. There were ten of us, and we all had the same impression. The last time we visited in winter, it was better. This was our last visit for now. Too bad

Wir waren nach langer Pause wieder dort. Es war am Dienstag belebt , aber nicht zu voll. Die Bedienung war allein und hat alles gut geschafft und war dazu noch umsichtig, humorvoll und es gab eine Nachtisch "aufs Haus " ! Sehr lecker! das Preis/Leistungssverhältnis war gut . Draußen unter den alten Bäumen und mit dem Teich ist es wunderbar . Vielen Dank !

We were hungry on a Sunday bike tour and stopped in. This is a super nice, quaint Berlin restaurant with a modern twist. The menu and seasonal specials offer something for everyone. We were very satisfied with the food. The only downside is their espresso coffee afterward... please buy a better one.

We just had a drink there today so I don't know what the food is like there. But it smelled very tasty and I could tell from the faces of the other guests that it must have been delicious. So I will definitely stop there again and have a delicious meal there. Kind regards and see you soon...

I celebrated my birthday here on April 21, 2025 with 38 people at a brunch. Even the first contact with Ms. Weiß was so nice and friendly. Although the restaurant doesn't open until 1 p.m., brunch at 10:30 a.m. wasn't a problem. All other preparations were carried out easily and simply by email and telephone, as I live 250 km away and am only in Berlin occasionally. The delicious buffet, the arrangement in the small banquet hall and the personal supply of drinks by attentive and friendly employees were great. Everything corresponded exactly to my expectations and my guests and I simply felt comfortable. Many thanks to all the staff at Alte Fritz who helped make my celebration so perfect.

Friendly service, nice decor, but unfortunately the food was poor. No comparison with the main building in Stolpe, which has an almost identical map. Maybe it was because we were there on a normal Tuesday when there wasn't much going on. The veal schnitzel was out, the other dishes (asparagus with pork schnitzel, fine-dining chicken) were ok, but not great. The fried potatoes tasted like they had been warmed up again. Next time we'll go to Stolpe again.

Great service! From the first minute we got served by the friendliest waitresses in the city. The restaurant is dog-friendly and has a beautiful large outdoor area. The Wiener Schnitzel was perfect—totally recommended!

Nice location. Staff is nice. Went there for dinner after a funeral. There were precisely counted dry rolls. Everyone got 2 halves. Nothing was added. Unfortunately only toppings of pork, a bit of cheese and a bit of salmon. Onion soup was very sweet and fatty, but it was still tasty. While another table got a latte macchiato, we were told that unfortunately there wasn't any. Instead we got cappuccino. Shortly afterwards someone got another latte macchiato. They were all from the family circle. So no strangers. It was a bit strange and made an unpressing impression. As if one knows nothing about the other. But overall nice.

We wanted to eat really traditional, tasty and cozy food. We were not disappointed by the friendly service.

The food is terribly bad. The menu and prices assume fresh food - but none! Everything is frozen food! Partially received cold food and burnt schnitzel. Burger and fries are a mess. Waited a long time for food and drinks. Then the most violent thing I have ever experienced: the guests were asked to give tips when leaving the inn, and one guest was literally shouted at for it! We will never go there again and I can only strongly advise anyone not to eat there!

We happened to drive past there on March 9, 2025 and stopped in. The food was not only good but you also get full, which I think is very important given the prices today. The staff was very nice and helpful. Cozy interior and the nice thing was, there was no music, there was usually something playing that the staff liked to hear and was annoying, which of course wasn't the case here. The guests behaved within the normal range of volume, and thus a coziness arose. I can only recommend it.

We were the only guests on election Sunday 2025 around 6:30 p.m.! The service person was super nice and it was only thanks to her that there was an extra star! The whole house was only heated by a stove and that was the only place where it was warm. The real problem was the really subpar to bad food! Onion soup with absolutely no taste, mushrooms with gorgonzola sauce..., a mash without gorgonzola flavor and a veal cordon bleu with fried potatoes and with lots and lots of roasted aromas! The price is far too high for the result, even if the onion soup was kindly taken off the bill. It was all much better, especially when the plaice jug nearby shows how it can be done. We still wish this traditional restaurant all the best for the future but we're out for now!

We ate there with five people on December 26th, 2024. The table in the “fireplace room” was reserved. Unfortunately it was very loud there due to the raging children present, but that's actually the parents' responsibility. The goose we ordered was outstanding. The staff was very attentive. Since it was of course very full, everyone was kept busy. We would like to come back in February with nine people.

We had reserved in advance for 10 people. We were seated at a table that was far too small for 10 people. Unfortunately, there was only a thinned out menu, which was not communicated beforehand because not all guests wanted to eat goose and, for example, the mushroom cream sauce was no longer available from this menu, according to the waitress. Four veal schnitzels were ordered and three veal and one pork were brought. Several people have tried it and said it is pork. It also tasted different than the 3 other schnitzels. After complaining, the service person came back and said that the cook said it was veal. An offer was made to bring a new one. Unfortunately it was pork schnitzel again (other guests also tried it and noticed it). Conclusion: We won't eat here anymore.

Wir waren mit Freunden zum Gänseessen im Alten Fritz. Das Restaurant war gut besucht aber nicht voll. Die Bedienung war bemüht, schien aber sehr unerfahren und wenig routiniert. Wir waren zu Viert und haben Gänsebraten zu gut 30 € pro Portion bestellt. Schon während des Essens waren wir uns einig - schade um die Gans, das Tier ist umsonst gestorben. Das Fleisch war zäh, die Haut lediglich und das Gericht (bis auf den Rotkohl) insgesamt ziemlich geschmacklos. Wirklich alles andere als ein kulinarisches Erlebnis! Unser Hinweis an die Bedienung wurde mit den Worten "ich sage in der Küche bescheid" abgetan. Da wir vor längerer Zeit eine ähnliche Erfahrung im Alten Fritz gemacht haben, werden wir das Restaurant zukünftig leider nicht mehr besuchen.

Very friendly staff, very quaint restaurant. We sat at the back in the fireplace room, it was really nice and warm. But the best thing was the food! Homemade veal cordon bleu fried in clarified butter - incredibly good! And butter carrots too. The tartare was also highly recommended. We would love to come back.

Hello, The two of us ate there on December 25th, 2024. I ordered a table at very short notice and got one (in the evening). The lady on the phone was very helpful and really took the time to reserve a place for us... For Christmas!!! We arrived early and were not turned away. It was super crowded and yes... That meant it was very loud, but there's no other way, given the amount of people. The service was super attentive, polite, etc... Especially the trainees!!! The food was also very tasty. I have the greatest respect for what you are doing!!! These are tough times in the catering industry and everywhere! Thank you for the lovely evening and stay that way!! Best regards

I cannot recommend the restaurant for larger groups. The waitress and the owner were completely overwhelmed and overlooked or even forgot to take some of the orders. In addition, one of our group didn't get her food until everyone else was finished. Service was an absolute disaster. The 2nd star is only given because the restaurant and the toilets are fine and the food was also quite good. But the goose was too expensive at over 30 euros. But neither was anything special, which is why it doesn't get 5 stars. Unfortunately I was disappointed and won't be coming back anytime soon.

The two of us were at Alten Fritz at the end of April and enjoyed a pork knuckle. As a former chef, I have to say that I couldn't have made the knuckle that well! My compliments! Prices were reasonable, service was friendly, place was clean. We were completely satisfied

We were in the large hall for a company party. 200 people can certainly fit in here, but the acoustics are worse than in a4 train station hall. The buffet was good and sufficient in a separate room. The service staff were very overwhelmed at the beginning and the first drink order took a very long time. However, they would be quick and diligent. An unfortunately very small parking lot, but fortunately there are alternatives on the surrounding streets.

We were in the hall with around 100 people for the Christmas celebration. Buffet was good and service was very nice. Only the acoustics in the hall were bad. It was very loud in the hall due to the conversations at the tables, so that it was not possible to have a normal conversation.

Five of us spent an evening here. The whole was good and the wine was fine. In my opinion, value for money was a bit too expensive. Service nice and attentive. We'll try you again.

The food is extremely expensive and unfortunately not really good. Drinks are extremely expensive - 5 euros for a cola is a bit crazy. The ambience is quite nice, a little warmer light and music would be great. Service was very nice and quick, nothing to complain about here.

Guest rooms are very rustic and comfortable, in keeping with the location. There is a fireplace for cold days and a beer garden for warm times. Our food, various schnitzel variants, was okay and in the upper price segment. My suggestion would be a visit combined with a long walk in the forest.

Unfortunately, you notice that there is a lack of well-trained staff in the catering industry. The plates are pressed into the guest's hand and passed across the table asking what they had... The wine glass is simply cleared away, even though there is still something in it... And the food is really nothing special. Very unfortunate.

I celebrated my 60th birthday in October with a large Mediterranean buffet for 40 people. From the organization to the implementation, I felt I was very well advised. On the day of the celebration there were always very individual, pleasant arrangements with the service from the champagne reception to the end of the celebration. I as the hostess, but also all the guests, felt very comfortable and well looked after. The large hall with the uniquely beautiful round tables for eight people each, the wonderful buffet, the generous space for dancing or entertainment from the small stage, the good music system (also works without a DJ) - simply great. In the end I was even able to take the leftovers from the buffet with me in rental boxes from the buffet. It was perfect. Many thanks to Mr. Rinke, Ms. Weiß and the entire service team.

There every year at Christmas, sometimes in a large group, sometimes in a smaller one. The Christmas dishes are always top, served quickly and at fair prices! We also love the rustic atmosphere. Thanks to Ms. Weiss & the team for the always reliable organization.

Such a wasted evening! Too bad! Food great! Service top! Ambience great! Management sucks!!!! What you see as a guest when you sit too close to the kitchen or something is unbelievable! My meal was really delicious! A meal at the next table was probably prepared by someone else, I don't know. There was a lot of complaining about it, the (poor) service staff was being insulted (she was the least responsible!), she tried to seem courteous to the guest but this guest was completely unreasonable. In my opinion, after complaining for the second time, it would be an absolute necessity for the chef to clarify this situation instead of letting the poor, very nice and really very friendly service staff take over this lousy job! They have NOTHING to do with it! The chef is responsible for the food! If there are several cooks, the head chef is responsible, and never a poor, hard-working person from the service!!! The fact is, if I notice something like that again, it will be the last time I've been in this previously good store. But it's not possible to unfairly blame the service for the food! No go! It was a dream. I can recommend everyone, especially every married couple, to choose this restaurant to hold a wedding dinner/celebration there. Although there was a large celebration with over 100 guests in the next room at the same time as our small celebration, there was no loss of quality in our food or service. The friendly staff were always smiling and diligently serving us when it was over 25 degrees. We would choose this restaurant again and again. The food was a real culinary delight. Absolute recommendation: zander fillet and Kaiserschmarn with plums. Thank you for all your effort!

Even though the food wasn't bad, it wasn't a highlight. The service was friendly. The outdoor areas seemed reasonably well maintained. But what struck me most was that we waited almost 50 minutes for our starter. This is unacceptable. The main course then took another 30 minutes. This is much better.

Too few staff when the beer garden is full

The atmosphere in the area leading to the beer garden is very dark, oppressive, old-fashioned and almost a little creepy. But first-class 💁 very, very nice service, but the chicken fitness schnitzel, which was ordered unbreaded and breaded with cornflakes, looked cooked and not baked in the oven, but was slapped onto the plate - more or less "snow white" and colorless Broccoli tomato vegetables were really boring, tastelessly mixed with fresh, chopped tomatoes and the fried potatoes were totally over salted and swimming in fat. The Wiener Schnitzel also looked very pale and not very appetizing. Really loveless quick and easy preparation. The colorless, unbreaded fitness chicken was not added to the bill by the very friendly waitress, which was of course really nice. & It's not at all comparable to the "Crooked Linden Tree".

Wooden paneling on the walls and ceilings, large tables, and when the weather is good there are plenty of shady seats outside under the old trees!

I recently read "if 5 hours with loved ones feels like an hour" then everything was ok. 👍 That's exactly what I felt when I drove home in the evening after a day, it was Whit Monday, in the "Alten Fritz". Good music, nice atmosphere, and very friendly people around me who made me feel pampered all day. Food highly recommended 👍 Drinks..., I think there is something on offer for every taste. When it started to rain, we were sitting outside, but we weren't invited into the dining room... within a few minutes tents were set up...👍 Thank you very much for the wonderful day... I really enjoyed it.

This is a great place to sit in the green and enjoy something savory or sweet. Then take a walk to Lake Tegel or to Alt Tegel in the direction of Greenwich Promenade. Discover, relax and enjoy pure nature in Tegel.

Unser erstes Essen in diesem Jahr unter freiem Himmel in dem großen Außenbereich des Restaurants. Wir hatten Blut- und Leberwurst mit Sauerkraut und Kartoffelpüree und ein Schnitzel dazu natürlich ein Bier vom Fass. Die Bedienung erfolgte zügig und freundlich, wir waren zufrieden.

We were there yesterday for Mother's Day. Reserved in advance for 20 people. Besides us, there were perhaps 20 other guests sitting in the garden, and it was empty inside. The drinks took forever (30-45 minutes each) and everything seemed quite disorganized. For dinner, I had schnitzel with fried potatoes. The schnitzel was really good, the fried potatoes tasted good too, unfortunately they were only cold. Some of us had ordered asparagus, but unfortunately everything was cold, even the hollandaise sauce. Asparagus had a slight gray tint and didn't taste good at all. The next one of us had schnitzel with braised onions. The chef probably took the word braised onions too literally. These were completely burnt black and inedible. A young lady who collected the money from us really tried hard and was very accommodating to us, so that we didn't have to pay for the asparagus meal. That was at least a small consolation. Unfortunately, shortly before our visit we found out that the crooked linden tree in Stolpe was said to have declined significantly. I really have to say we are very disappointed and will definitely not be going there again and of course we can no longer recommend it. I really hope that you get these problems solved quickly.

If you could give zero stars, that would be appropriate. Absolutely not recommended!!! The waitress had absolutely no interest in taking orders. You had to speak to the waitress yourself to be able to order food and drinks. Some of the food arrived absolutely cold. And had to be returned. Even after returning it was inedible. The hollandaise sauce and asparagus were an absolute disgrace. Fried onions could be used as charcoal briquettes for grilling. You have to plan a waiting time of at least 30 minutes for drinks. The only thing missing is that you have to pour your own beer. Although that would be better because it would at least shorten the waiting time. Conclusion: never again.

Our quality circle/working group met in the Old Fritz. The room and the buffet were prepared as discussed and the service was great. We will be back;)

There was really no reason to criticize, we had dinner with the whole family. The dishes were all excellent, everything was beautifully prepared and was simply good. The pork knuckle in particular was one of the best I've eaten so far. Service very friendly and quick. All in all very recommendable.

Old Fritz died for my family and me. We always enjoyed being here and were happy to make the journey from the south of Berlin. However, everything is ruined here. 4 people for 85€. The children's spaetzle were cold and inedible. The schnitzel had more breading than meat and the cream sauce had already formed a skin, very salty and had little to do with cream sauce. The obazda was also more salad than Obazda. Now the staff is being replaced by serving cats (moving robots). It was definitely our last time there.

It feels like everything has been ruined. The ambience has become noticeably run down, almost exclusively only frozen food. Apart from the completely over-salted dishes, every sauce has unpleasant skin on it or was served straight away. Unfortunately it's now an absolute disappointment and at a price that's too high for what's on offer.

First a completely burnt cordon bleu was served, after my complaint the waiter apologized and came to the table in a reasonable amount of time with a new dish. Unfortunately, the guests in this restaurant are cheated by the kitchen. A veal cordon bleu was ordered and enjoyed. Pork was served! Only after another complaint was the offer made to refund the difference. For me this is cheating on the guest! Unfortunately, the other dishes were also carelessly prepared and cooked without a hint of love. We're definitely not coming back.

Wir haben uns Ostern in Großfamilie hier getroffen. Plätze waren bestellt. Das Essen war sehr gut, auf Extrawünsche würde eingegangen. Parkplatz direkt auf dem Hof. Wenn es nicht so weit für mich wäre, würde ich gerne wiederkommen. Klare Empfehlung.

The restaurant has seen a lot of decline recently. Apparently the formerly good staff no longer works there, which is a shame! We used to go to the old Fritz more often because good service and good food were always the top priority there. We'll probably have to find a new favorite place now. I'm really disappointed and curious to see how long this restaurant can survive under these circumstances.

I came to the Krumme Linde in the Alten Fritz with a large group as part of a company party and have been a regular guest ever since. Excellent German cuisine with a Bavarian touch. Large schnitzel menu - top quality and the atmosphere is wonderfully cozy. A great recommendation even in summer, thanks to the large beer garden! The summer salads and the selection of drinks (with Bavarian beer) are also recommended!

We went to the Old Fritz-Tegel for our company's Christmas party. We sat in a larger room with a fireplace, which was very cozy. The drinks came quickly - despite the well-filled restaurant - unanimous opinion, the food was very good, it's rare to have such a great roast goose. A few days ago I went to the "Fritz" again "privately" with the family, I can only report good things, my knuckle was world class, the rest of the family was also very satisfied. Conclusion: we will definitely come back!

It's quaint and rustic there. Unfortunately, heating is stingy, so it's pretty cold in the rooms at this time of year. I had ordered a knuckle for a long time and was totally disappointed. Bland or not seasoned at all and so tough and dry that I would have preferred to give it all back and not eat anything in return.

It was the first time I was there since Old Fritz had a new management. A beetroot carpaccio was served with cooked beetroot (although we specifically asked for it beforehand) and Emmental cheese. The potatoes were warmed up. A dish was served with a spoon lying in the food. We skipped eating. It's a shame for the beautiful location.

You get what is promised here. Hearty food in a rustic setting. The menu reflects exactly that; you won't find airy, modern cuisine here. In general, the house seems to have fallen out of time. The dishes we chose were tasty, but will we come back? I don't know, I didn't enjoy traveling through time on Old Fritz. Break new ground on the menu, offer fresh ideas alongside the classics and win new friends. Then things will go better.

We were registered for a Christmas party with around 40 people on a Thursday. The large hall and the associated toilets were freezing cold. The lack of staff in the hospitality industry was clearly noticeable: long waiting times for drinks and food, despite the allocation of numbers to each individual guest and a limited "favorite menu", there was quite a bit of chaos when it came to food distribution and billing. The venison goulash was too dry, the Brussels sprouts were frozen food. The spaetzle with it was okay. Not again so soon...

In advance: Based on some of the reviews, we weren't sure whether we would even go. Our conclusion: Luckily we tried it out anyway. Today we were there with 5 people (parking lot right next to the restaurant) and were allowed to sit in the reserved, well-heated and very rustic fireplace room (new fireplace, there was always more wood added and the decoration was also very nice). The service was very attentive and the food (schnitzel, liver, chicken) was really tasty and plentiful. Particularly noteworthy was the Kaiserschmarrn (caramelized) - really a culinary delight. I wish the service team including the kitchen continued success and would like to thank you very much for a wonderful experience.

The place used to be very good. Unfortunately, this has diminished significantly. The food is no longer of such high quality. The schnitzels are much “too good” and the waiting time is sometimes very long. If the food has to be returned because the schnitzel is too dark or something else is wrong, that's very annoying. It's also quite cold in the location, which is a real shame for the price. The quality has not improved despite multiple visits. We won't be coming back because the price/performance ratio isn't quite right anymore. A pity!
