Krokodil in Balingen

Waren abends nach 18 Uhr dort. Nicht viel los gewesen. Hatten mindestens 15 Minuten auf eine Bedienung gewartet. Dann wurde Essen und Getränke aufgenommen. Essen kam Recht flott. Wir saßen dann mindestens 30 Minuten ohne weitere Getränke, obwohl wir auf dem Weg zur Terrasse saßen. Die Damen standen an der Theke und habensich nett unterhalten. Also guter Service ist das nicht, war geile Jahre dort gern zum Essen und auch etwas zu trinken dort gewesen, aber bei den Preisen, Qualität und Service gehe ich lieber woanders hin. Schade, so wird der gute Ruf den sich der Chef über Jahrzehnte aufgebaut hat, einfach zerstört.

5.20€ für eine 0.4LCola . Fast 20€ für ein Schnitzel und dann noch 50 min warten. Wird einfach zu teuer für Systemgastro. Das war mal besser .

Ich war das erste Mal da und bin wirklich positiv überrascht von dem guten Essen und dem freundlichen Service. Kann ich nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Leider können wir das Essen nicht beurteilen. Wir haben kurzfristig telefonisch für 6 Personen einen Tisch reserviert. Angekommen warteten wir zunächst eine Weile bis wir beachtet wurden. Nach etwa 5-10 Minuten wurden wir ohne Begrüßung zu einem Tisch geschickt. Dort warteten wir etwa 20 Minuten. Wir wurden weder begrüßt, noch wurden Karten gebracht oder auch nur ein kurz wir kommen gleich signalisiert. Wir wurden komplett ignoriert. Irgendwann sind wir gegangen ohne eine Bestellung aufgegeben zu können. Wir haben gar kein Problem bei Betrieb zu warten. Aber über 20 Minuten komplett ignoriert werden ist nicht sonderlich gastfreundlich.

Ich war von Februar bis März an drei aufeinanderfolgenden Wochenenden im Krokodil in Balingen und habe dabei leider festgestellt, dass sich sowohl der Service als auch die Qualität des Essens zunehmend verschlechtert haben. Trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage mussten wir lange auf die Bedienung warten, und insgesamt entstand der Eindruck, dass sich nur wenig um die Gäste gekümmert wird. Auch das Essen konnte mich von Besuch zu Besuch weniger überzeugen, was ich sehr schade finde. Der Laden an sich hat eine angenehme Atmosphäre, und mit einem aufmerksamen Service sowie einer besseren Qualität der Speisen würde ich sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Wir waren heute wieder mal im Kroko nach längerer Zeit. ich hatte ein Putensteak. da war ich völlig enttäuscht. 10 x 12 x 0,5 cm also etwa 70 gr. dazu eine mittlere Portion Pommes und ein ordentlicher Salat für 23,50€. das ist sehr heftig ich bin Nachhause gekommen und habe mir sofort ein belegtes Brot gemacht hatte Hunger und das bei einem 23,50€ Essen. Meine Frau hatte ein Schnitzel. Früher waren es zwei riesen Stücke heute zwei kleine dafür ist der Preis von 14.50 auf 22,00 € angehoben worden. Meine Frau will jetzt nicht mehr nicht mehr ins Kroko! Schade!

Schönes Lokal, gutes Essen, freundliches Personal

Essen ist hier immer sehr gut, Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Bowling Bahnen sind modern, ich glaube es sind 8 insgesamt. Im Sommer ist es toll draußen zu sitzen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir hatten am Sonntagabend telefonisch Essen bestellt zum Abholen, bei eintreffen war der falsche Salat hingerichtet. Auf den Richtigen hätten wir nochmals eine halbe Stunde warten sollen. Der falsche Salat war geschmacklich richtig schlecht und der bestellt Flammkuchen war stark verbrannt. Wir werden hier zukünftig nichts mehr bestellen.

Alles gut! Wir waren schon lange nicht mehr im Krokodil. Aber am Service und der Qualität hat sich nichts geändert! 👍 Daumen hoch!

Einfach nur schrecklich! Ich bin hier in Deutschland im Rahmen eines Austauschprogramms mit meiner französischen Hochschule und habe so etwas noch nie erlebt! Die Preise auf der Speisekarte sind kaum zu erkennen, weshalb ich 5,20 € für meine Cola und 15 € für meinen Burger bezahlt habe! Und dann kamen noch 5 € extra für die Pommes dazu. Ich musste eine Stunde auf mein Essen warten, obwohl der Laden fast leer war. Als es endlich kam, waren Salat, Tomaten und Gurken total verdorben! Die Zwiebeln schmeckten nach Kirschen und das Steak war nicht durchgebraten! Wenn ihr vorhabt, dort hinzugehen, lasst es bloß sein; ihr werdet nur euer Geld verschwenden!

Das Krokodil in Balingen ist für mich eine der besten Adressen, wenn es um einen leckeren und gleichzeitig preislich guten Mittagstisch geht. Die Auswahl der Gerichte ist jede Woche abwechslungsreich. Das Personal verdient ein besonderes Lob. Immer freundlich, aufmerksam und ausgesprochen schnell, sodass man auch in der Mittagszeit nicht lange auf sein Essen warten muss. Genau so sollte guter Service sein! Fazit: Empfehlenswert für alle, die Wert auf leckeres, bodenständiges Essen, faire Preise und hervorragenden Service legen.

Ich war am 18.02.2026 im Bistro-Krokodil zu Gast und habe den Aufenthalt als sehr angenehm empfunden. Die Atmosphäre ist gepflegt und einladend. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist in Ordnung bis eher im gehobenen Bereich, entspricht jedoch der gebotenen Qualität. Besonders positiv hervorzuheben ist das gesamte Team, das sich durch hohe Hilfsbereitschaft, Freundlichkeit und einen durchweg respektvollen Umgang auszeichnet. Insgesamt ein sehr positiver Eindruck.

Also ich finde es unverschämt, bei den Preisen den Wein nicht bis zum Strich einzuschenken. Und bei Reklamation kommt das Glas zurück genau bis zum Strich eingeschenkt und dann kommt noch von der Servicekraft ein frecher Kommentar. Da frage ich mich was ist besser zahlende Gäste oder leeres Lokal

War letztes Mal vor paar Jahren Mal wieder im Krok mit Freunden und wurden sehr enttäuscht. Erstmal war das Essen fertig Produkte. Für ein Schnitzel 22 Euro zu verlangen fand ich echt für die größe sehr frech . Dazu kam noch das wir unsere Salate nicht bekommen haben und mussten den ganzen Preis zahlen. Das haben wir auch angemahnt! . Die Getränke sind sehr sporadisch gekommen und oft vergessen . Am Ende standen Sachen auf der Rechnung wo wir nicht erhalten haben. Wir haben 160 Euro insgesamt da gelassen . Und das war das letzte Mal !

Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe zum Kegeln verabredet. Die Reservierung funktionierte ohne Probleme. Im unten Bereich waren alle Bahnen vollständig besetzt. Anzahl der Bedienungen: eine Dame. Dass diese natürlich mit diesem Volumen von geschätzt 60 Personen nicht zur Zufriedenheit der Kunden agieren kann, sollte jedem klar sein. Der Vorspeisensalat kam bereits nach wenigen Minuten - wir waren zunächst positiv überrascht, da die Wartezeit zur Bestellung doch lang war. Da wussten wir aber noch nicht, dass zwischen Vorspeisensalat und Hauptgericht 70! Minuten liegen. Als Argumente wurde gesagt, man sei mit vielen Gruppen gebucht - ja schön. aber das müsst ihr doch als etabliertes Restaurant dribbeln können. Zudem sind die Kegelbahnen sehr veraltet - hier könnte man mal nachrüsten oder optimieren. Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut und auch die Bedienung, die sich wacker geschlagen hat, möchte ich an dieser Stelle positiv hervorheben.

Zwiebelrostbraten mit Nudeln aus der Packung!!! für fast 30 Euro und der Flammkuchen für fast 16 Euro ist einfach mit Käse zugekleistert. Die Burger waren ok, aber wir haben über eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet. Die nachbestellte Portion Pommes kam 30 Min nach dem essen. Tut mir leid, aber hier war ich zum letzen Mal essen.

Leider eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung. Eine Flasche Wasser für 7,50 € ist in keiner Weise angemessen. Das Essen kam vollständig kalt an und die Qualität steht in keinem vertretbaren Verhältnis zu den aufgerufenen Preisen. Insgesamt bleibt der Eindruck, dass hier Preis und Leistung deutlich auseinandergehen. Unter diesen Umständen nicht zu empfehlen.

On Tuesday afternoon at 2:29 pm, the place was almost empty. We'd been sitting at our table for 15-20 minutes. No one came to take our order. We had to get up ourselves, go to the counter, and call someone. The food arrived quickly and tasted okay. After we finished eating, the plates sat around for ages. No one came to ask if we wanted another drink or to clear our plates. On top of that, we had to get up again to ask for the bill. Next time, I might as well go into the kitchen myself, cook, and serve my own food. The staff were standing at the counter discussing what they were going to do on Christmas instead of checking which customers needed serving.

Unfortunately, my visit to Krokodil was quite a disappointment. From the very first bite of the fries, I felt like I'd bitten straight into a salt shaker. Unbearably over-seasoned – even with plenty of drinks, it was almost impossible to salvage. The food itself wasn't any better: average quality, small portions, and prices you'd expect at a high-end restaurant. For what you get, the food is simply far too expensive. In short: oversalted food, poor value for money, and no reason to return. It's a real shame, but I can't recommend Krokodil in its current state.

The food was well-intentioned but poorly executed. The meat was unfortunately dry. The Spätzle were tasteless (low in salt, not homemade) and the sauce tasted like it came from a packet. And yet the prices were so high that you'd expect better. Water 0.75l €7.60 Jägerschnitzel €21.60 The service was friendly and attentive. In conclusion, better to eat somewhere else, but very good for bowling 👍

Lucky me! We snagged the last table without a reservation. Fast service, very friendly, and the food was delicious. Large portions. Reasonable prices.

The service is friendly, but they can't get anything right. We were celebrating a child's birthday. My order was forgotten three times. In the end, I ordered the New York breakfast three times from three different waiters. I ordered my steak medium-rare with fries on the side and received fried potatoes and a completely dry steak. Such chaos in a restaurant that wasn't even half full is incomprehensible to me. Utter chaos. That was the last time I'll be there.

We were not satisfied with the food here. While it's always nice not to have to wait long for your meal, it was even faster than at the drive-thru. We had barely ordered when the food arrived, and it tasted just as bad. The roast beef was tough, the fried onions probably came from a package, and the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) were mushy and cold. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Excellent service. A huge compliment to the service team. So friendly and attentive. Always with a smile, creating a wonderful atmosphere. You can't help but feel comfortable. I simply ordered something I fancied without even checking if it was on the menu. The friendly server took my order and it was on the table in no time. Quantity, quality, taste, and price were all perfect. I give it 7 out of 5 stars 👍🙏

I visited the Crocodile again after many years. Everything looks the same. But it's still very nice. What's not so nice anymore are the exorbitant prices. The Crocodile should really think about that. Almost 20 euros for a salad with turkey strips (which was very good, by the way) is outrageous. That's why I won't be coming back anytime soon. It's a shame, really. The staff was very friendly!

It's actually a great shop, if only the service were more attentive. You go through a rough patch or two, and you're not alone. Unfortunately, it's noticeably gone downhill over the last few visits. Apart from that, it's excellent.

It was ridiculously expensive and incredibly poorly organized. Tables that arrived after us already had their food. We waited over an hour before we could even order. The atmosphere is pleasant, though.

We had breakfast there, but it's way overpriced for what you get. One slice of bread with a little topping costs about €16 🙈. The waitress, however, was super nice and friendly.

On August 3, 2025, three of us ate at the restaurant. We ordered two cheeseburgers and one Swiss burger. On the second bite, a live, wriggling worm flew out of the burger. When we took the second burger apart, we also found a dead beetle in the lettuce leaf. This is absolutely unacceptable from a hygiene perspective and, in our opinion, a health risk. As compensation, we received new burgers and a scoop of ice cream—but our appetite had completely disappeared. The "Oreo" ice cream offered from the freezer was apparently not included in the price, so we only received a scoop of chocolate or vanilla. Overall, a very disappointing and disturbing experience. We strongly recommend having the responsible food authority inspect the hygiene conditions!

There's a huge selection of food. My favorite are the super delicious and large salads! You can also play bowling or billiards. Reservations are highly recommended, as it's always busy. There's also a large selection of cocktails. The service is also very attentive! I would highly recommend it!

We stopped here as an exception because we were passing through. We usually always go to Mössingen. However, we've never been for breakfast. But everything here was great, too. Friendly staff. We had such a delicious breakfast, and it was simply fantastic. A great selection, good quality, and simply a relaxing morning. We'll definitely be back.

Prices have risen in recent years, as everywhere, but we find the food less than excellent. We used to enjoy coming here, but the food was better then. It's very loud when all the tables are full.

Wir haben eine halbe Stunde nach Bestellung auf unser Trinken gewartet. Das Essen kam im zeitlichen Bereich jedoch war es sehr kalt, die Wedges waren nicht mal alle durch und auch kalt. Die Saucen wurden vergessen genauso wie mehrere Getränke die wir bestellt haben.

Very disappointing – unfortunately, another bad experience We've been to the Krokodil Balingen several times, but unfortunately, our impression was confirmed every time: the service is extremely slow and inattentive. This time, too, we sat at our table for over 30 minutes without anyone coming to take our order – no drink, no greeting, nothing. This isn't the first time this has happened to us. We left after half an hour. It's a real shame, because the location is actually quite nice – but the service is just terrible. We won't be back.

Menu boring and without variety. Food meant well, but done poorly. Unfortunately the meat was dry. Spaetzle without taste and sauce like from the package. But then prices that lead one to expect something different. Service nice and attentive.

Have been there for dinner for a long time. The first time everything was fine. That was on a Tuesday afternoon. Two guys were in service. Very friendly and hardworking. The second time we were there on a Saturday evening. The service was a complete disaster. We've never experienced anything like this before. Had reserved a table. When we registered we were initially ignored. One operator was busy with her PC. The other three who stood around having private conversations. We were finally shown our table. After about 10 minutes we were still sitting there without anyone even paying attention to us. There were two of us and there were maybe five tables in total. Only when I asked at the counter did a waitress come to our table. We counted a whopping 8 waitresses who were actually just standing around. That was an insolence without equal. We won't come anymore.

When you walk into the restaurant you will soon be greeted on quiet days and brought to your table. Very nice service from friendly staff! The ambience welcomes you with a rocker touch mixed with a diner from the 2000s and appropriate music, but in such a way that you can still have a conversation intelligibly. One look at the menu is enough to see that the prices for food start at €5.50. Despite the sometimes expensive prices, the experience is worth it because the food is very well seasoned and pleasantly warm to hot. The drinks menu is more varied and larger compared to the menu. Overall, a welcoming restaurant with very friendly staff who serve good food.

Very friendly staff.The portions are large.The salad was fresh and very tasty.And the taste of the steak is first class. We paid €80 for two people, meat platter, salad and dessert. I can definitely recommend it. We ordered non-alcoholic cocktails and they were incredibly tasty.

Unfortunately the food was far too salty. You often had to get drinks yourself. There were several faults with the bowling alley so you couldn't use it properly but still pay in full.

We've been here several times. Unfortunately, I haven't had any good experiences with the crocodile for about a year. The food is mostly good. This time, however, I have to write a review. We had ordered soups as starters (expressly said as starters) - these only arrived almost an hour after we ordered. The pancakes in the soup were hard and probably not entirely fresh. Some of our main courses arrived almost at the same time. We didn't really have space on the small table to accommodate all the plates and eat properly. The last meal didn't come until the first one had already finished his. In general, our experience was not satisfactory. When we said this when we were paying and said that it could happen “sometimes” but that we would be happy about a schnapps as a small apology, the waitress asked her boss. When she came back, she said we should say it right away next time if something wasn't right with the food and that there wouldn't be any schnapps for us. We now know that we will no longer enter this restaurant. We left around €160 here and it's not even worth a schnapps if the food was so disappointing.

Consistently very good quality for years. The food always tastes very tasty. The inside is decorated with great attention to detail for many seasons and themes. We always enjoy coming here. The bowling alleys are also always heavily used.

What happened: Family sits, staff takes drinks order, then staff: Sorry, here is the table for an important regular customer who always comes there... (after ordering). Please sit over there. (Alternative). Yes it was short-term, yes it was complicated, but it has a certain message. If you also have people with health problems with you - great. I understand that absolute premium customers are extremely important. There is a difference, also for the business, but you can also say to regular customers: 99% of the time you will always get your nice regular seat, 1% of the time it just doesn't work. Result: Everyone would be helped. When I count how many years part of my family was there, be it birthdays 🎂, youth, bowling, parties, etc. then it's a shame, a very shame, to have this experience.

The crocodile in Balingen is simply great! Super great ambience, incredibly delicious cocktails and super friendly staff. The audience is really friendly and the food is also impressive across the board. Absolutely recommended!

It was quite ok. The taste of the food is very good. Unfortunately, it wasn't really warm at our place anymore. The portions are perfectly fine for the prices. The ambience is ok. Nothing earth-shattering. The service was a bit slow but the waitresses were very friendly.

We spontaneously went to the Krokodil in Balingen in the evening just before Halloween. Just entering was a challenge for the eyes. Everything was colorful and eerily autumnal with the most spectacular faces and figures I have ever seen in a restaurant. Everything was decorated down to the smallest detail with love and dedication to the theme. When we arrived at the table, we were greeted in an equally admirable, discreet, friendly manner and asked what we would like to order according to our wishes. For me, the young lady was a role model for everyone who, on a Sunday evening when the hut is full, treats the guests in such a well-groomed manner - it's simply bomb👍👍. We could ask her to order, she was always very interested in letting us experience our evening in such a way that we could feel and perceive the magic deep into our hearts, according to the ambience. Because at the end of the day, everyone knows that in today's situation you don't always throw an evening out like that. I only want to emphasize that I only have to deduct a star for the food served. Because somewhere else I have had the same thing presented to my palate buds. Otherwise, even 1000 stones are not enough to adequately rate the crocodile. Overall, we went home happy and appropriately prepared for Halloween.

There were 4 of us there for dinner on a Saturday. After we stood there and waited for someone to take us to our reserved table, we had to speak to someone ourselves at some point, otherwise no one really felt obliged to do so. Then we sat there ...... and yes, at some point we picked up the menus ourselves. It took so long for a waiter to come that we even chose the entire drink and food. The food was OK, but the cocktails unfortunately didn't taste what they were supposed to for the prices. At some point there was a change of waiters and we had to clear our table ourselves and then brought the empty plates and glasses to the bar ourselves. It's a shame, because we really enjoy going to the Kroko - you enjoy sitting there & it's actually good for going out for a drink with friends.... Unfortunately, the prices are getting higher and higher & the service doesn't stay at the same level. Example: A KiBa (labeled as a cocktail on the menu) for 7 euros... phew... the 3 stars are really only because we always enjoyed visiting the Kroko. But after the last visit we were really a bit disappointed :-(

We love being there, even with our dog. We often have days where there isn't that much going on. Whether cash or card, no problem. Table reservations are always quick and friendly, short-term changes are possible if the day allows it😁 Everyone gets their money's worth, whether it's a child, a dog or us 😁 Looking forward to next time.

It was nice for a time. Now unfriendly and overpriced. Swabian onion roast was tough and not medium as desired. Worst of all, all the food that was ordered was luke warm. I can get better quality at really fair prices elsewhere. It was the last time for us.

Unfortunately the staff seems very listless, you are not welcomed and seated at a table. After you sit down, you are simply ignored and no one feels responsible for bringing you the card or taking the order. It wasn't the first time like this, so we got up and left the restaurant. That was probably the last visit here!

I've been here more often now to play billiards and darts. The prices are fair and reasonable at around €15 for an hour of billiards. Unfortunately, the service has disappointed me for the second time now. I waited 37 minutes for a beer, which came without beer foam. I hope they find faster and more attentive staff soon. Otherwise, I'm happy with the experience overall. PS Own an event company as a sideline 😉

Catastrophe on Tuesday evening. The three of us went there to get something to eat. We were there at 9 p.m. and ordered drinks. The drinks arrived completely wrong. For example, spritzer instead of juice and cream in cocoa, although ordered without. Then for a long time no one wanted to take our food order and we asked for service directly at the counter. At 9:30 p.m. someone came and rushed us with the words “the kitchen is about to close!” to which I meant that the kitchen doesn’t close until 10 p.m. She said she thought it was already 10 p.m. but didn't apologize for her crude statement. When the starter came, we didn't get any cutlery and had to request it separately and go back to the front. Then our main meal arrived at 9:45 p.m. However, again two completely wrong meals. So we had to step forward and give it back. The waiter was totally annoyed and there was no apology. Instead he said, “Yeah, well, it’ll just work for a while until the right thing comes along.” At 10:15 p.m. the real food finally arrived, but unfortunately it didn't look appetizing at all, it was somehow thrown together and the schnitzels were fried until very dark. The food was really very tough and inedible. But we ate it anyway because we just wanted to leave. When we got the bill at the end, a waitress apologized for HER mistake, even though we had never seen the person in question all evening. We were served by a total of 5 different people and we were pretty much alone in the whole crocodile... but so many mistakes still happen? The bill was also calculated incorrectly, but to our advantage. Unfortunately, a lot went wrong in this store yesterday, from ordering to payment. Very stressful and disappointing experience at extremely expensive prices now.

A restaurant where you feel comfortable. We had the meal of the day and were absolutely thrilled with the price/performance ratio. Only recommended.

The Krok in Mössingen is a thousand times better. In everything!

Price performance good. Food very tasty, fresh and plentiful. Our child was also taken into account and given a menu to color. I used to go there often, once in a while it was mediocre, now it's great again, we'll be back.

The food was very tasty and worth the price. Large portions, and delicious. The selection is plentiful, everyone will find something. 8 bowling alleys that you can see, 2 pool tables, 2x darts, a pinball machine. A little light in some places, but it's fine. The service was very nice and accommodating... I can recommend it, always again.
