Portions too small for the price

Overlooked by many, but a place for real connoisseurs! Could be the best Turkish restaurant in all of Hanover. It's the oldest anyway and the restaurant is in a prime location (definitely recommend sitting outside). I'll be honest: if you just want to order a meat/grilled dish and want to call it "Turkish cuisine", you'd better find a kebab stand. The highlights are definitely the warm/cold mezes, which are definitely one of the best in Germany, and the fish dishes (they have fresh fish every day, which is very rare). Of course you don't have to drink, but it's always recommended for a nice evening with raki, wine or beer.

Great service, very central, great cuisine, very nice staff, friendly atmosphere, great for company celebrations or spontaneous visits. The food is Turkish oriented. A real pleasure of Turkish grill specialties. I have enjoyed being a guest of this location for years.

We recently visited the Kreuzklappe and had high hopes for the restaurant. Unfortunately we seem to have had a really bad day. The service was really very confusing, orders were mixed up or not brought at all, so that the last of us only got our food 30 minutes after us after we asked several times. That was a real shame. It was positive that they apologized to us several times. The food was overall OK, my meat was just about done, so it was really close to the limit and others in our group were happy with their food :) Who knows, maybe we really just had a bad day.

There were five of us here, two people ate fish or meat dishes and they liked it. Three of us ate vegetarian dishes (vegetables or spinach gratinated with cheese) and unfortunately that was a disappointment. The vegetables were simply sprinkled with cheese, not a bit of sauce, water collected at the bottom of the bowl, it tasted absolutely bland, only a little salted in one place. So when we were asked whether it was tasty and I made a corresponding criticism, it was only acknowledged with a regretful expression on my face. Of course we could have sent the food back straight away. But there was no vegetarian alternative for us. Only the starter plate and the dessert each get one star. Too bad, that was our last visit.

You can't complain about the taste, on the contrary it was very tasty like at mom's home. But the portions are meager/small. After eating I was hungrier than before.

Top location, quiet, old furniture but in great shape, everything very clean. Fresh products perfectly prepared. Price performance more than okay. Very very nice friendly staff. Always my pleasure

It was my first time there...I have to say I was disappointed...starter was too oily...main course was just my lamb cutlet good, rest wasn't so good...just had no taste...it had nothing to do with Turkish for me The cuisine was more Greek than Turkish. Service was good though... LG che

Went there once on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was friendly - honestly friendly! Food was good and arrived quickly. Come again :) The main course could also have yoghurt but that is criticism at a high level.

Everything was perfect, excellent food, great service and a lovely atmosphere.

The house spoke to us from the outside and we decided to eat there. We were very happy with the food, service and ambience. We felt comfortable and will stop by there again next time.

Found the cross flap by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. The food tasted great and the price was more than satisfactory. I've already seen 0815 kebab stalls that charge the same but can't even begin to keep up. The service was very attentive without being intrusive. We would be happy to come back and can fully recommend a visit.

You get the impression that you are eating in a German restaurant next to the Kreuzkirche in or near the Goldener Winkel. Instead, it is a good Turkish restaurant with exceptionally friendly service and a balanced menu. The food was very tasty. In summer, this spot in the big city has a special atmosphere and you forget the hustle and bustle of the city outside.

Ich war am Fr mit ein paar Kollegen das erste mal im Restaurant. Wusste garnicht das es den schon seit 1976 an der Stelle gibt. Super freundliches Personal und alle Speisen war echt super lecker. Habe leider das Hauptgericht vergessen zu fotografieren aber anbei unsere Vorspeise. Ich werde auf jeden Fall dort wieder hin.

Ich kenne dieses Restaurant schon seit über 30 Jahren. Und es hat in all der Zeit nichts von seinem Charme verloren. Das Essen ist hervorragend. Wir hatten Bohnensalat mit Zwiebeln (sehr üppig), Lammspieße auf Brot und Joghurt sowie Rind mit Auberginen. Zum Nachtisch Mokka (heiß und gut) sowie Baklava. Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend bedient. Es war ein gelungener Abend. Wir werden gerne wiederkommen.

Waren am 2. Advent spontan da, ohne Anmeldung. Der Service ist 1 a ! Sehr zuvorkommend, die Fischspezialitäten 1. Klasse. Einfach toll :)

Alteingesessenes türkisches Restaurant. Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Dessert waren sehr lecker. Der Service war klasse. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war angemessen. Besonders den Nachtisch sollte man noch bestellen. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl.

Das Essen und die Atmosphäre ist sehr gut. Auch der Service ist lobenswert, vor allem die Bedienung. Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich empfehlenswert.

Sehr freundlich, sehr lecker! Update vom nächsten Besuch: Es war proppevoll, ich hatte mich beim Reservieren verzählt, wir waren eine Person mehr. Es wurde irgendwie ein zusätzlicher Stuhl herbeigezaubert - toller Service!

Preis- Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht über ein. Bei dem Vorspeiseteller gab es wirklich keine große Auswahl. Brot gab es nur nach Nachfrage. Kebabteller hat 16€ gekostet und man wurde nicht satt davon. Wir würden hier nicht mehr essen, für das Geld bekommt man was besseres.

Mittagspause in der Kreuzklappe, war lecker. Machen wir demnächst mal wieder.

Sehr schönes Lokal mit einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre. Das Personal empfängt einen herzlich. Der Service ist erstklassig. Wir waren als Familie da und uns hat das Essen sehr geschmeckt. Leckeres Essen, gutes Bier, sehr freundlicher und schneller Service. Peris-Leistung ist absolut in Ordnung. Draußen gibt es sogar Decken, wenn es abends kälter wird.

We stumbled on this türkischen restaurant. The türkischen kitchen maybe isn’t our favorite… but we wanted to test it. The dishes were ok… but one of the dishes had chili in it and this chili was HOT and we weren’t aware and the personal didn’t warn about this so for one of us it was a “surprised ” that ruined the dinner….. to summarize: traditional dishes for those who like the türkischen kitchen….

Die Kreuzklappe wurde uns alt ältestestes und bestes türkisches Restaurant empfohlen. Wir hatten uns schon sehr darauf gefreut. Das Ambiente naja...auf der Bank saß man schon sehr beengt. Der Service war am Anfang gut und ließ dann nach. Aber es stimmt durchaus was viele schreiben. Das Essen war einfach lieblos auf dem Teller und nichts Besonderes. Ich wollte die türkische orientalische Küche erleben mit all ihrer Vielfalt. Keine Gewürze, der Salat ertränkt in Essig und Öl und diese viertel Tomate die da immer auf dem Teller liegt. Kein Fladenbrot, kein Dip vorweg, kein Absacker, kein Anreiz für Gäste zu schauen was es noch so gibt. Schade

Habe mich mit meiner Freundin auf einen schönen Abend und leckeres Essen gefreut. Wir wurden in jeder Hinsicht enttäuscht. 2x Nr 42 war saumäßig , das Hühnchen war nicht durch und der Salat, war einfach nur Salat mit Öl, ohne Gewürze. Dazu noch die Bedienung. Von Service keine Rede!!! Wir zwei Frauen wurden einfach ignoriert.

Wir sind spontan beim Spaziergang im Restaurant Kreuzklappe gestrandet. Es hat uns sehr lecker geschmeckt. Eine gute Auswahl an Speisen. Gut aber nicht Zuviel gewürzt. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen

Servizio perfetto, cibo ottimo! Una bellissima cena. Il personale è gentilissimo coi bimbi e con gli adulti. Un posto da consigliare!

Weihnachtsfeier mit der Firma. Das Restaurant war voll besetzt. Das Ambiente gemütlich, der Service zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Die gemischte Vorspeisenplatte ist empfehlenswert. Die Beilage zum Haupgericht: Weißbrot in Butter und Joghurt! Das war hervorragend, das Fleisch gut gegart und saftig. Hier würde ich jederzeit wieder essen. Die Kreuzklappe ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Tiefkühlgemüse ohne Geschmack. Die Beilage zum Spieß besteht aus einer Viertel Tomate, eine Scheibe Zwiebel und einer halben Peperoni sowie einer Handvoll Eisberg Salat. Euer Ernst? Das Fleisch auf dem Spieß so gut wie nicht gewürzt. Das hat mit guter, frischer Küche nichts zu tun. Keine Nachfrage bzgl Nachtisch oder weiteren Getränken, Das war leider verschwendete Zeit und Geld.

Leckeres Essen , freundliche Bedienung man hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt. Empfehlenswert der Lammgrillteller .

Bin spontan abends in den kleinen Aussengarten und wurde gleich sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Putenkebab mit Pommes war gut und lecker, der Salat dazu separat und frisch und auch das Brot sehr knusprig. Alles reichlich und nachwürzen kann man es ja nach Belieben. Ein Raki danach mit Eis.......auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert.

Wir können das Restaurant nicht empfehlen. Alles recht lieblos ohne Pepp. Kein Dip oder ähnliches und ohne Würze. Auch zum Abschluss gab es nicht einen Absacker wie meist üblich. Wohlfühlen und lecker Essen geht anders.

Not bad is the moto of this review, however it is far not the best Turkish I have ever did. Service was correct, but I didn’t like the plate chosen. I don’t recommend specially this restaurant but to be in calm area closed to the center was appreciated.
