Although we had a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes for our table, this time was made special: we were invited to sit down next door and were even treated to complimentary drinks. We've never experienced such attentiveness and appreciation in any other restaurant. The food was an absolute culinary delight. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and prepared with great care. But the true highlight was the staff—incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. At no point did we feel like "just a guest," but rather welcomed, seen, and valued. So far, this is the best Japanese restaurant we've tried in Lower Saxony. We even found the ambiance better than the food itself, which clearly surpasses the usual standard for Japanese restaurants and is absolutely worth the higher price. My personal recommendation would be the scallop nigiri; be sure to order the wasabi mayonnaise as a dip. Furthermore, this is a restaurant that truly deserves the additional designation of "bar." The three different cocktails we tried were a delight. My only minor criticism would be the absence of ramen on the menu, as it's an essential part of Japanese cuisine. The very friendly staff completed the overall harmonious impression. It definitely won't be our last visit.

The entire evening was an impressive experience. The four of us arrived and our table wasn't ready yet. Such a situation can quickly become awkward – but not at Kouro. We received an incredibly warm welcome and were spontaneously invited for a glass of sparkling wine. We took our seats in the sheltered and heated passageway of the Galerie Luise and enjoyed our welcome drink. Afterwards, we experienced a truly magnificent evening in the stylishly furnished restaurant. As vegans, we were particularly pleased with the wide selection of suitable dishes – and every single one delighted us. Even more outstanding than the food, however, was the service: so attentive, warm, and competent, unlike anything we've ever experienced. We felt completely looked after, cared for, and pampered. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for this wonderful experience!

In my opinion, it is the best sushi spot in the entire city: high-quality ingredients, beautifully crafted dishes, and flavors that stay with you. The atmosphere is extremely comfortable warm, calm, and relaxing from the very first moment. But the real surprise was Victoria a charming Italian young woman whose smile carries all the warmth and joy of Italy. In a city where smiles are rare, she brings a spark of life that instantly transports you from Hannover to the streets of Rome or Naples. She asks what you’d like to order, with confidence and genuine friendliness… then she tells you what she personally loves. And at that moment, you can’t help but surrender to her cheerful spirit and tell her: “Order for me whatever you like.” 😀 That human touch alone makes the experience unforgettable. When excellent sushi meets exceptional service and an authentic Italian smile Kouro becomes a place you will always remember.

I've already tried their delivery service and wanted to try the restaurant for my birthday. I've rarely experienced such excellent service. They even offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. The sushi was the best quality I've ever had. The menu offers a wide selection, with something for everyone. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, making my birthday a truly special occasion. Thank you so much – especially for the thoughtful touch at the end. Kouro is on the pricier side, but the quality and freshness of the food more than justify the price. Highly recommended, and we'll definitely be back!

We were already familiar with the delivery service and wanted to try it for ourselves. The ambiance impressed us as soon as we walked in. Very upscale and inviting. We received a very friendly and courteous welcome. From the appetizers to the drinks to the main course...everything was beautifully presented, and each dish had that certain something you look for in a restaurant like this. Salmon Aleikum is my personal favorite! Upscale dining comes with slightly higher prices...but they are absolutely justified and standard here! The only downside: Anyone who has experienced this kind of sushi will have trouble finding pleasure in "regular" sushi 😉 We will be back. Many thanks to the great team!

I consider Kuoro more of a bar; the drinks selection is good, and the wines are exquisite and delicious. I wanted sushi, but unfortunately it was very unimaginative – salmon + tuna – I suspect no sushi master with training in the business – more pretense in that regard – a shame :( And what's the point of meat, cocktail sauce, cream cheese, and endless vegetables in sushi? Sushi is traditionally used to preserve fish, and I expect a varied menu, including caviar... The wine was quite a bit short in the glass. Given the steep prices, I would expect the advertised quantity to be in the glass. They waited to see if I would complain, but then served me another glass as compensation. Thank you for that – that was very accommodating, and the wine was really good!

I was here with my daughter for the first time today. We dropped in quite spontaneously and really enjoyed the ambiance, the food, and the truly outstanding service. Here, we weren't just customers, but guests. The great conversations, including with the staff, rounded off tonight on a very positive note. I'd be happy to come back.

Great atmosphere and excellent food. I'd especially like to highlight Hasan, our employee. From the very first contact, he was extremely friendly, competent, and courteous. An employee like that is a true figurehead.

The restaurant is very nice and tastefully decorated, but the space is very small and the tables are too close together. The food is good, as is the wine. Unfortunately, the staff isn't the best; we had to wait a long time for the menu and drinks. We were given mineral water, even though we had ordered still water. Part of our order was forgotten, and the waiter told us we would get the missing dish plus a dish of our own on the house. When we finally paid, unfortunately, both dishes were listed on the receipt. We got our money back, but we still found it very odd, because if we hadn't looked at the receipt, we would have paid for the dishes offered to us anyway. The prices are still a bit high for the location.

To take my daughter out, I Googled Kouro by typing in "Best Sushi Hanover," and it came up very high. After studying the menu on their website, which is very well-designed, I made a reservation online. It worked out great. The reception and service were very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Since I can currently only eat liquid food due to illness, I was given a miso soup without any garnish upon special request, without any problems. My daughter had very delicious sushi; it even looked almost exactly like the pictures on the menu! What was very interesting for us: The soy sauce came from a spray bottle! It's also a good solution; otherwise, I always had too much sauce on my plate. The food, which my daughter couldn't finish, was given to us in a very fancy paper bag without any ceremony. What I also found very thoughtful: they asked me, with great interest, how I found the restaurant. The ambiance is somewhat clubby, quite classy. Unfortunately, the restrooms aren't wheelchair accessible, and there's hardly any parking due to the city center. However, it's easily accessible by public transport, with a bus stopping almost right outside. I think it's a great value for money. I'll be happy to recommend this restaurant!!! You can also order food in advance by phone and then pick it up. My daughter was also very impressed, so we'll definitely see you again!‼️🤩

The food, in my opinion, wasn't even mediocre. You can get sushi like this in the Rewe refrigerator, and there you don't pay anywhere near what you pay at Kouro—in my opinion, it was simply a waste of money. The drinks met my expectations, but it's hard to influence the quality of a Coke Zero. As for the restrooms, although they're nicely decorated, their cleanliness is more reminiscent of the McDonald's at Steintor than a proper restaurant (especially in this price range); at least when I was there. I can't say whether that's always the case, because after that one time, I wouldn't waste my money like that again. It's a real shame, because the restaurant has a great location and, as I said, the ambiance is really good. Such situations are usually due to the fact that the manager in charge doesn't really know what they're doing. The restaurant has potential, but that's really no good if it isn't fully utilized.

I ended up going with my boyfriend. The staff were friendly, though service was a little slow even though it wasn’t too busy. There was something in our drink, but nothing major. The sushi was just okay, but to be fair, I mainly came for the ambience—and that didn’t disappoint.

A stylish place with a cozy ambiance thanks to its dark decor and dim lighting, but with too many tables, meaning you sit very close to each other. The service was great! Very friendly and attentive. The drinks are tasty, but a bit too expensive for my liking. The same goes for the food. The prices are too high for the quality. The sushi was okay, but the flavor was too bland and dry for me. I couldn't really distinguish the individual components, and in the end, it had a uniform, rather unspectacular taste. The soy sauce in the bottles with a spray head might look classy, ​​but I found it cumbersome and annoying. You really don't get much out of a spray... and the wasabi paste isn't spicy.

The sashimi (€24.50) was thinly sliced ​​and the portion was small. The sushi rice was dry and hard even though we ate it straight away. Also a lot of vegetarian maki. Totally friendly staff, they always surprised us with little touches on our wedding anniversary, although we only mentioned this when making the reservation so we could get a nice place for two by the window. We were very happy about it, it was totally unexpected. Food, as always, great quality and unusual sushi! The rooms are cozy, with upholstered furniture and good acoustics, it's not too loud and you don't hear much from other guests.

I visited sushi restaurants that were awarded stars and ate sushi in a variety of forms in small, family-run shops. Never, really never, have I eaten such great sushi as I did here at KOURO! The offer, the ideas, the delicate execution were absolutely perfect, the taste was a delight and the price was absolutely reasonable. The wine selection is wonderfully coordinated, the service is unobtrusive and particularly friendly and attentive, and the furnishings are modern without appearing cold. I am thrilled and recommend going there with deep conviction!! If I can now manage to dampen the music a bit so that more intimate conversations are possible, I will also give 5* for the ambience on my next visit 😜

My husband and I made a reservation for my birthday. The sushi was very tasty, personally the restaurant is a bit too dark and the music is too loud for me, but that's just my taste. However, the service wasn't really good, we had a table right by the door, we had asked for another table because it was quite drafty through the door, we were just told that all tables had been explicitly reserved and we would only take this table can. There were free tables the whole evening... the waiters walked around the room a lot, but you had to speak to them explicitly if you wanted to order something else to drink. You could see an empty glass... It was also a bit sad that the sanitary facilities were quite dirty and I had to ask for toilet paper at the counter as there was no toilet paper left. If anything, I would only order sushi to pick up, but I wouldn't go to the restaurant again.
