KOURO in Hannover

To take my daughter out, I Googled Kouro by typing in "Best Sushi Hanover," and it came up very high. After studying the menu on their website, which is very well-designed, I made a reservation online. It worked out great. The reception and service were very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Since I can currently only eat liquid food due to illness, I was given a miso soup without any garnish upon special request, without any problems. My daughter had very delicious sushi; it even looked almost exactly like the pictures on the menu! What was very interesting for us: The soy sauce came from a spray bottle! It's also a good solution; otherwise, I always had too much sauce on my plate. The food, which my daughter couldn't finish, was given to us in a very fancy paper bag without any ceremony. What I also found very thoughtful: they asked me, with great interest, how I found the restaurant. The ambiance is somewhat clubby, quite classy. Unfortunately, the restrooms aren't wheelchair accessible, and there's hardly any parking due to the city center. However, it's easily accessible by public transport, with a bus stopping almost right outside. I think it's a great value for money. I'll be happy to recommend this restaurant!!! You can also order food in advance by phone and then pick it up. My daughter was also very impressed, so we'll definitely see you again!‼️🤩

It was an all-around lovely evening! The service was excellent, very friendly, and competent. The ambiance was unfortunately a bit too dark for my taste, hence only 4/5 stars, but that's nitpicking. Overall, unfortunately, not so good. The ambiance is actually very cool and inviting. The service is also very friendly, nothing to complain about. But that's the only thing, unfortunately. The food, in my opinion, wasn't even mediocre. You can get sushi like this in the Rewe refrigerator, and there you don't pay anywhere near what you pay at Kouro—in my opinion, it was simply a waste of money. The drinks met my expectations, but it's hard to influence the quality of a Coke Zero. As for the restrooms, although they're nicely decorated, their cleanliness is more reminiscent of the McDonald's at Steintor than a proper restaurant (especially in this price range); at least when I was there. I can't say whether that's always the case, because after that one time, I wouldn't waste my money like that again. It's a real shame, because the restaurant has a great location and, as I said, the ambiance is really good. Such situations are usually due to the fact that the manager in charge doesn't really know what they're doing. The restaurant has potential, but that's really no good if it isn't fully utilized.

I initially wanted to book it for my birthday, but it was a bit difficult to get in touch, and in the end, they couldn’t accommodate a group of 15, which was understandable. I ended up going with my boyfriend. The staff were friendly, though service was a little slow even though it wasn’t too busy. There was something in our drink, but nothing major. The sushi was just okay, but to be fair, I mainly came for the ambience—and that didn’t disappoint.

A stylish place with a cozy ambiance thanks to its dark decor and dim lighting, but with too many tables, meaning you sit very close to each other. The service was great! Very friendly and attentive. The drinks are tasty, but a bit too expensive for my liking. The same goes for the food. The prices are too high for the quality. The sushi was okay, but the flavor was too bland and dry for me. I couldn't really distinguish the individual components, and in the end, it had a uniform, rather unspectacular taste. The soy sauce in the bottles with a spray head might look classy, ​​but I found it cumbersome and annoying. You really don't get much out of a spray... and the wasabi paste isn't spicy.

The service is friendly, the prices are a little higher, but there are always creative ideas for the presentation and the signature rolls. This time we had the “Blockbuster” special – a version based on movie snacks, with nachos and cheese chili sauce. Sounds unusual, but it was really delicious and something completely different. The classic makis are also consistently good here – fresh, tasty and beautifully prepared. We would definitely like to come back!

The restaurant is very stylish, but that's the only positive thing. The service was ok, it wasn't overwhelming, but the sushi was actually catastrophic. They were nicely prepared, but not fresh at all. Even the ginger was already dry. All in all it wasn't worth the price.

I just missed that certain something when it came to “The Only True One”, which was emphasized by the beer in the glass that was included. On the other hand, I thought the Crunch Chicken was very good and the Creme Brulee was absolutely top (careful, be sure to leave room, exceptionally good portion 😉). The ambience is very tasteful, although quite dark. The only thing I found was that the music was just too loud for a restaurant, where you want to be able to have a good conversation. For me, this is also the main reason why I will carefully consider visiting again.

We ordered sushi via Lieferando (€59.80 including delivery). Packaging and presentation were great, but quite expensive for two people. The sashimi (€24.50) was thinly sliced ​​and the portion was small. The sushi rice was dry and hard even though we ate it straight away. Also a lot of vegetarian maki. Totally friendly staff, they always surprised us with little touches on our wedding anniversary, although we only mentioned this when making the reservation so we could get a nice place for two by the window. We were very happy about it, it was totally unexpected. Food, as always, great quality and unusual sushi! The rooms are cozy, with upholstered furniture and good acoustics, it's not too loud and you don't hear much from other guests.

I've eaten a lot of sushi in many countries in my life - sushi is one of my favorite foods. I visited sushi restaurants that were awarded stars and ate sushi in a variety of forms in small, family-run shops. Never, really never, have I eaten such great sushi as I did here at KOURO! The offer, the ideas, the delicate execution were absolutely perfect, the taste was a delight and the price was absolutely reasonable. The wine selection is wonderfully coordinated, the service is unobtrusive and particularly friendly and attentive, and the furnishings are modern without appearing cold. I am thrilled and recommend going there with deep conviction!! If I can now manage to dampen the music a bit so that more intimate conversations are possible, I will also give 5* for the ambience on my next visit 😜

My husband and I made a reservation for my birthday. The sushi was very tasty, personally the restaurant is a bit too dark and the music is too loud for me, but that's just my taste. However, the service wasn't really good, we had a table right by the door, we had asked for another table because it was quite drafty through the door, we were just told that all tables had been explicitly reserved and we would only take this table can. There were free tables the whole evening... the waiters walked around the room a lot, but you had to speak to them explicitly if you wanted to order something else to drink. You could see an empty glass... It was also a bit sad that the sanitary facilities were quite dirty and I had to ask for toilet paper at the counter as there was no toilet paper left. If anything, I would only order sushi to pick up, but I wouldn't go to the restaurant again.

At an event at Hannover Zoo two days ago, I bought sushi at a KOURO food stand. I have never eaten such delicious sushi anywhere. The service was also super nice. Simply great and we will visit the KOURO in the city in the near future.

Außergewöhnliche Location durch dunkel Farben, Interieur, Scheiben. Fast alles in Schwarz gehalten dennoch gewöhnt man sich schnell an diese Atmosphäre. Der Service ist zuvorkommend und flink, die Karte ausreichend und mit außergewöhnlichen Spezialitäten gespickt. Digital mit Bildern unterlegt halten die Fotos was sie versprechen. Überaus lecker und reichlich portioniert. Kommen gerne wieder.

The menu is only available online, which I find not appropriate and a shame for a restaurant in this price category. The food is good to very good but the prices are a bit too high compared to other good sushi providers. Serving the soy sauce in a spray bottle looks good, but it takes some getting used to. (I prefer to mix it with wasbi) Also a bit playful when preparing it, roasted grated ham on tuna sushi... why? Definitely worth a visit and testing it out for yourself.

It was our first time here and the ambience does what it promises! Stylish, elegant with a certain calm. The food was amazing! You could taste the freshness straight away, a lot of thought went into the creations and the preparation was masterful. Also an absolute compliment to the service! The young lady who looked after us was courteous, extremely polite and always in the right place at the right time. Even when a small mistake happened in the kitchen (the same sushi twice instead of 2 different ones) it was corrected immediately and we basically got a portion for free. All in all, thank you very much for a very successful evening and for the service that made it possible! I will definitely come again!

It couldn't be worse... Here's the reasoning.......ordered sushi to take away from the store (theater str) for 63€, looked it up online...there's a 12€ surcharge when paying because it's more expensive here than delivery🤬🤬 🤬 Cress slapped on all the sushi... something like guacamole and tomato salad on the fried one... shocking... sushi rice has no taste... We only ordered because we received a voucher I'll stick with my regular sushi shop....sushi berlin osterstr Ps. You can get better sushi at Kaufland train station Kouro NEVER AGAIN

Perfect sushi, appetizers and dessert in a cool, modern club atmosphere! I discovered this restaurant about 1/2 year ago and am thrilled. The starters (Chili Cheese Tigers, Dumplings) are super tasty, followed by exceptionally tasty sushi rolls (especially the Relachs and the Yellow Fin Spice). An absolute highlight is the Creme Brulee dessert with tonka beans and walnut sorbet! The service is very courteous and professional. The dark furnishings look chic and modern. An absolute recommendation!

Restaurant has great decor as well as atmosphere. The food was beautifully prepared and tasted of a very high standard. The prices are high, but considering the location of the restaurant, they are justified. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the dishes. In return, the owner did not charge for the dessert without being asked. This is a big plus for me and enhances the overall appearance of the restaurant.
