A beautiful French brasserie with truly fantastic food. Everything was cooked to perfection, fresh, and bursting with flavor. A particular highlight was the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff – you immediately feel at home. A place you'll definitely want to return to. Highly recommended! 😌

I recently visited Königsquelle, and honestly, I can't remember the last time I had such a wonderful evening. The service was outstanding! Especially the gentleman with the graying hair and mustache at our table: incredibly attentive, warm, and relaxed, making us feel instantly at ease. The courses arrived at perfect timing. What I really love: the bar menu, restaurant menu, and wine list are incredibly cohesive and well-thought-out. Everything fits together, makes sense, and is simply a lot of fun. The food and drinks here automatically motivate you to keep trying and enjoying. The drinks from the bar are creative, perfectly crafted, and absolute highlights. But the wines are brilliant too! Thanks to the fantastic and experienced sommelier, you always have the perfect recommendation to pair with each course. Five stars? That's an understatement. I'd love to keep this place to myself, but at the same time, I'm already looking forward to many more visits. 💜

Fantastic! The oysters, steak frites, and that dessert with date mousse (?) were simply superb. The service and ambiance were a dream.

We visited for the first time on a Wednesday and were thrilled. The food was outstanding, and a huge compliment to our waiter Daniel, who is also the restaurant's sommelier. Every wine was perfectly paired with our meal, and we even learned a few new things. The wine list is wonderfully curated with many exciting wines that you won't find everywhere. You can tell a lot of thought went into it. The prices are also very fair. Overall, the service was consistently attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

The food is highly recommended, but I would give the service six stars above all. We already knew Daniel from his previous restaurant and were delighted to see him again. We will definitely be back and will gladly bring our friends.

We had our wedding meal at Königsquelle in 1993; the food was outstanding.

I had the bouillabaisse as a starter, followed by the beef – it was divine. The service was absolutely impeccable. Sommelier Daniel clearly knows his stuff. It was worth every penny, and we'll definitely be back!

The new owner has made Königsquelle even better. Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended! Beautiful ambiance, perfect service, superb wine selection, and amazing food!!!

Overcharged me significantly for two drinks

Finally open again :) The new opening is a worthy successor! The prices have increased slightly (as expected), the menu is (currently) smaller, but the food is truly worth every cent. The short ribs were super tender and came in a generous portion, and the mushroom strudel was beautifully executed—not a "well, I'll have to have something vegan" option, but rather a well-thought-out dish. The espresso martini was also really delicious; highly recommended. The interior is exactly the same as before, which made us absolutely delighted!

An absolutely delightful traditional bistro that I've often walked past because it's not immediately obvious. The wood-paneled interior, complete with a long bar, is reminiscent of Viennese restaurants, and the (handwritten!) menu features a few Austrian classics like Wiener Schnitzel and Backhendl (salad). They also offer French and Italian dishes of quite high quality at fair prices – and absolutely EVERYTHING tastes delicious! Add to that a warm and friendly owner and a service team of friendly, if slightly quirky, individuals! Highly recommended – a timeless bistro with a real local feel! Cheers! 🌟

I have known the ķönigsquelle for over 40 years. Back then, diagonally opposite Gerds Biekrügerl and 2 houses further away was Mandys Club, where the Indian restaurant is now. The Königsquelle still has excellent product quality. You concentrate on a few products that are released first-class...

Very nice restaurant with really, really good food! We were served very nicely! Always my pleasure!!

They have a nice outdoor space, but overall I didn't love it. The goulash was decent but nothing to write home about. My son did really like the curry wurst though. I read they had a good whiskey selection but they didn't have any German whiskey. The waiter also forgot about us multiple times. I would have preferred one of the bigger Munich beer halls.

Top spot for the ambitious schnitzel lover and bar lover. Nice atmosphere and the staff knows what they are doing! It tastes great and the thirsty person gets it quickly and easily... what more could you ask for? Thank you!

We came because we read that the bartender is a whisky expert. When we entered we got the feeling like we didn’t belong. Very cold and unwelcoming. We were seated though. The menu is handwritten in script font and then photo copied. Makes it very hard to read let alone Google Translate. When asked about local whisky we were told it doesn’t exist when we know that Slyrs is a German whisky. Bartender used the characteristic “smooth” as an opposite of “peated” which is how you treat newbies to whisky. There was no attempt to talk to us or share his actual knowledge of whisky which is what they’re known for. We left without trying food because we felt so unwelcome. The server waited for us to say “keep the change” on a €16 bill paid with a €20. I’m sure it’s a local favourite but as visitors to Munich we did not feel welcome or would recommend.

One of my favorite shops! Very good and fresh cuisine - everything tastes great. The calligraphic card immediately sparks an exchange: “Can you read that?” ;) The ambience is cozy and the service is super friendly and fast - they also help with deciphering the map if necessary. Above all, you are not shuttled through every two hours like in other restaurants and pubs, but you can spend a comfortable evening. I've been coming here again and again for 3 years and even though I'm no longer around the corner for work, I remain loyal to the Königsquelle!

We had a really good time here. We especially liked the Catch of the Day whole fish. Great whiskey sour with egg white. Great service. Waiter explained hand-written menu to us.

The reception was very friendly and this warmth continued throughout the evening. Very attentive staff. Food was very good, ambience too. We all had a wonderful evening.

First time in Munich, I was looking for a German place and I came across this restaurant. It was perfect! The service was excellent, super polite and friendly with me. Took the time to explain every dish. The food was delicious! I had the dampling soup, that broth… so good! The Camembert salad super yummy! And the schnitzel perfect! Totally recommend it!

Somehow the best, coziest, most loving restaurant with the most courteous, most honest team ever....a perfect mix of inn, better restaurant, living room and a mother who lovingly and discreetly takes care of the guests in the background. Food and drinks always perfect. Big Love❤

a spot frequented by locals. the server was very nice although he did not speak any english he tried his best to communicate and got a colleague to help us as well for even better service. the food was very good and the place was very traditional. handwritten daily or weekly menu (not quite sure). just a lovely experience.

Die Königsquelle ist einfach „königlich“

Durch das für manche schwer lesbare aber kalligraphisch sehr schöne Menü im Aushang aufmerksam geworden, konnten wir das hervorragend gute Essen und das sehr angenehme Ambiente genießen. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, ein Aufenthalt sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr gutes Essen, hervorragender Service.. Das Essen ist wirklich hervorragend..absolut zu empfehlen..die Suppe war leider trotz vorheriger Bitte nicht heiß und Königspilsener Alkoholfreies ist nun wirklich nicht die erste Wahl.. Ansonsten war alles Spitze.

An amazing place, where you feel at home. We had great typical german food, great beer and liquer. The waiter Rhalf (I think that is the name) was really nice and fun, and helped us with everything and let us spent a great time there.

This place is real and "honest": the food, the service, the atmosphere. Honestly great!

Königsquelle ist muss. Leider bin ich selber länger nicht da gewesen, umso größer war dann die Freude, mich dort neulich mit Freuden aus dem Ausland zu treffen. Die Speisen waren hervorragend (Die Königsquelle ist berühmt für seine ausgezeichneten Schnitzel, auch wenn ich mich dieses Mal für den Fisch entschieden hatte, der im übrigen auch sehr schmackhaft war)! Die Mitarbeiter dort sind immer sehr freundlich und oft zu Scherzen aufgelegt, was die Stimmung jedes Mal hebt. Danke!

Great food and service, friendly atmosphere

Manchmal kommt die Currywurst mit dem Schnitzel zusammen und trotzdem passt das schon. Wir hatten einen ganz tollen Abend bei Euch / mit Euch. Im März kommen wir wieder vorbei. Herzlichen Dank.

Wir, Touris...am späten Nachmittag auf dem Weg vom Dt. Museum zum Marienplatz hier halt gemacht aufgrund von Bierdurst...da die beiden Kellner super drauf und als absolut coole Profis rüber kamen, das Lokal keine Touri-Absteige sondern ein Restaurant ist, in dem offensichtlich viele Einheimische gerne einkehren, haben wir uns die kalligraphisch einzigartige Karte angeschaut und prompt beschlossen hier zu Abend zu essen. ...eine dezent sahnige Tagliatelle, sehr aromatisch mit frischen Pfifferlingen und Kräutern... ein perfektes Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalbsschlögel, (in Schweineschmalz?) goldgelb herausgebacken und auf meinen Wunsch hin mit Butterschmalz -Stampfkartoffeln angerichtet. Wunderbar!!! Wir saßen an einem Tisch vor dem Restaurant und haben den lauen Spätsommerabend genossen. Wenn ich wieder mal nach München komme, dann werde ich hier erneut einkehren und kann das Restaurant nur empfehlen!

A local restaurant that serves quality. The waiter is very friendly and took the time to explain the menu. Ordered a wiener schnitzel and a steak. Both are excellent in taste and preparation. Personally for me this was the best wiener schnitzel I ever had, crispy, thin and tasty.

Very good place to eat- it is mentioned as best schnitzel in the city - good putside space to sit when nice weather. I went there 4 evenings when I was in Munchen . Tested their soup as well - it was as it had to be - hot for the temperature and a bit spicy as I like it . Goat cheese salad was perfect, schnitzel was very good- what else I tried - the steak is good and finally I had the deer ragout which was also very good. The menu is handwritten but the guys help you when you can not read it . If you want to go the best thing is to reserve as the place can get full .

I Love Veal Wiener Schnitzel and this was my Best one for quite a while. Thin and Crusty, real Foodtainment at its best. The menu has a Lot more to offer besides a Schnitzel but this Schnitzel made my Day. Five Star Rating for the Staff and the Ambient. If your in for a Glas of Whisky, her you find a Great Selection of Fine and Rare Names.

Very cozy place with tasty food and the best service from all the places I have been in Munich. The waiters were so polite, attentive and were speaking English as well. The fish soup that I tried was amazing! You will enjoy your time, just take into account that it's a bit pricey.

Ein ganz tolles Lokal! Sehr gemütlich und rustikal chic. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle so herzlich, da fällt es schwer „nur“ vier Sterne zu geben. Aber da das Essen ein paar Schwachstellen hie und da hatte, vergebe ich einen Stern weniger. Das Wiener Schnitzel war gut, hätte aber größer und buttriger sein können. Auf Wunsch bekam ich Bratkartoffeln statt Kartoffelsalat, die jedoch teilweise zu fettig waren. Der Beilagensalat war frisch, die Vinaigrette sehr lecker. Maracujaschorle super. Nochmals danke für den sehr freundlichen Service! 👍🏻
