Below average food, but clean and nice service

From the outside, the restaurant looks rather unassuming, but inside it impresses with its pleasant ambiance. The staff was very courteous and friendly, and there wasn't a long wait. However, the sushi, despite the very high price, was not very tasty.

We were particularly impressed by the selection of specialty rolls, which you definitely won't find everywhere. The combinations were bold but harmonious – a true delight. Drinks – individual and surprising Service – attentive, fast, perfect The service was impeccable – professional, friendly, and incredibly attentive, without being intrusive. Questions about the dishes were answered competently, special requests were handled with courtesy, and empty glasses or plates were cleared away without long waits. It was clearly noticeable that a well-coordinated team is working with passion here. Conclusion: A visit to this sushi restaurant is much more than just dinner – it's an experience for all the senses. From the atmosphere to the cuisine to the service, every detail is just right. Anyone who loves sushi and wants to be pampered with culinary delights will get their money's worth here. Highly recommended!

Honestly I'm sad to say the food was not the best. Some of the fish was too fishy, in a way when fish isn't the freshest anymore. I can't recommend the pistachio dessert because it tasted quite artificial. The looks of the food however was good. It looked super appetising and cute. Service wasn't good but also not bad. Nothing to really critique. Sadly the experience was just not worth it. I paid 40 EUR and it really was just not worth it.

The decor was rather kitschy and the seating was a bit cramped for my taste. The service was okay. The food was of average quality. However, there was plenty of dry ice. It's too expensive for the quality of the food. I wouldn't pay €5.50 for a shandy again.

A very trendy restaurant, located on the first floor of Kaiserstraße. It is therefore not suitable for wheelchair users as it is accessed via stairs. A small outdoor area is also available for smokers. The sushi rollers are located at the side of the restaurant, so you can watch them at work. The server was very friendly and explained the different sushi variations to us. We opted for a mixed menu for two people. The platter arrived shortly afterward – with beautifully presented creations and a show with dry ice. Each individual work of art tasted truly outstanding. Payment can be made with cash or debit card.

The restaurant has a nice, welcoming vibe — a cozy spot that just needs more guests. The staff was nice and pretty attentive, which made for a nice dining experience. That said, the food was a bit of a letdown. I wasn't super impressed with the meal overall. The rolls were fried too long and too thick, so they felt heavyk. The soup was also a bit disappointing. It was flavorless and lacked depth. The tea, though, was a real treat. It was .really enjoyable, well-brewed, and soothing — the perfect complement to the setting. The visit was a bit of a rollercoaster, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. If they just tweaked the menu a bit, this place could be amazing.

The ambiance was nice, but the food was a real disappointment. The sushi tasted very bland and unloved. If you know and are looking for truly good sushi, you won't find it here. The homemade lemonade also wasn't worth the €7 price tag. The service was very friendly, but the rest of the staff were unfortunately engrossed in cell phone games and cigarettes. The table next to us also complained about the sushi and a drink. What a shame.

This restaurant used to be a really nice place – good food, a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, that has changed considerably. Today I got a duck salad for €15, which seemed more like a small appetizer. Even more surprising, however, was that it was served on a plate with two noticeable chips. Only after repeated requests was it replaced – the friendliness of the service unfortunately left a lot to be desired. It's a shame how quickly a once-recommended restaurant can turn into an experience you won't want to repeat.

The Bad Experience I Had at a Japanese Restaurant. Food very salty with no taste. Drink Kaufhof bad, only sweet. And the service was with a woman. She didn't let us talk until the end. I will never recommend this restaurant and will never come back. Very bad!!!

For me, Kokono in Würzburg is currently one of the most exciting addresses when it comes to Asian cuisine with a modern flair. Kokono's culinary appeal is impressive across the board. The menu is wide-ranging and offers everything that makes a foodie's heart beat faster, from sushi creations to bowls to warm Asian specialties. I particularly recommended the sushi platters – super fresh, creatively prepared and extremely tasty. The service was also very attentive and friendly during my visit. You can tell that value is placed on quality and hospitality here. In terms of price, the Kokono is in the higher range - but absolutely appropriate for the quality and the overall experience. My conclusion: If you're in the mood for Asian cuisine in a stylish and modern ambience in Würzburg, you can't miss Kokono. A real tip for connoisseurs and content creators - because the location is also a real eye-catcher visually and perfect for food or lifestyle posts.

Gigantic place for sushi. Hidden on the upper floor you are greeted by a blooming cherry tree (fake). In a slightly dark light we distorted some great sushi and had a quick word with the owner. The ambience, service and food are perfect here. Praise goes to the hard-working team, they worked really well and were very friendly to the customers

Hassle-free reservations, friendly service and fair pricing. Unfortunately, the guest room and the toilet seem a bit worn out in some places, but that doesn't take much away from the enjoyment. Sushi was visually and tastefully very appealing and deserves a recommendation.

Very tasty sushi but I have eaten the same quality elsewhere for much cheaper. So pack a big wallet ;) We had the appetizer platter (tapa variation) which I have to say that I found it way too expensive for tons of Edame and 2 gyozas and 2 other dumplings + 2 tempura shrimp.

!!! A year after visit I got "review removed due to defamation" notice from Google. Apparently my three star review was not good enough for the restaurant. After providing proof I actually visited the place, the review was reinstated. So now enjoy update to one star. I encourage all to take the overall Google score for this place with large grain of salt!!! The photos/reviews gave impression of chill and high end place, but reality was more loud, even crowded. Food came so quickly it was almost suspicious and it was not bad, but neither great or special. I personally was very disappointed in the prawn tempura sushi and doubted the freshness. Nigiri was very good though! It also is clear that they make sure you don't stay longer than the booked 90 mins. The staff is polite and nice, but you definitely get a feeling of "either eat, or get out". Overall disappointing, and we won't be returning.

Today (Saturday around 3:00 p.m.) we ate at the sushi restaurant Kokono - and although I'm not a big sushi fan, it was my second visit in a short time. On the one hand, because my wife loves sushi and was completely thrilled after the first time, and on the other hand, because the restaurant itself simply convinced me. As soon as you enter you are greeted by the beautifully designed interior. The large tree with the pink flowers is a real highlight and kept catching my eye throughout my stay. You almost feel like you're in a Japanese park! Overall, the restaurant is very spacious (there used to be a disco here) and is furnished with high-quality, comfortable furniture - you immediately feel at home. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and the order was also quick. This time I chose the curry with tofu (last time I had the vegetables with tofu), while my wife went for the coated and baked sushi. The selection of non-sushi dishes isn't huge, especially if you want to eat vegetarian, but I still found what I was looking for and was more than satisfied with my meal. We bridged the short waiting time with delicious edamame in a sweet and spicy sauce. We also had two unusual cocktails that were not only delicious, but also a real visual highlight - just like the food itself! The food was beautifully presented, and the dry ice with the smoke effect made for a great presentation that was definitely eye-catching. In terms of price, everything was absolutely fair and reasonable, especially given the high quality and intense flavors of the dishes. In the end we were full, happy and absolutely sure: we will definitely come back here! 🍣

We were there on February 1st. 2025 after a nice girls' day with 4 people on site. Unfortunately, after the sushi we had the plague. We all ended up with salmonella. Also the 5th one we brought some of the food with us. I can only agree with "Lea" in a few comments below. Hygiene is probably not that important. Never again. Sorry. There are better sushi shops there.

The sushi tastes really delicious. You can tell that the food used is fresh. We ate a starter there, then sushi and a dessert and everything was really great. No matter whether inside-out rolls with shrimp, fried sushi with salmon or spring rolls with a delicious sauce. The staff was very nice and our food came to our place very quickly. We'll be back!

We have been very satisfied with the sushi several times now. It's now very expensive, which I think is a bit exaggerated in terms of quality, but it can definitely keep up with other good sushi restaurants in Würzburg in terms of taste and appearance. I can't say anything about other dishes apart from the sushi, as I've only eaten sushi there so far. The service was courteous and friendly, although the lovely Asian atmosphere was even more impressive. For us it is a nice place to have a nice meal with friends. They also offer larger tables where up to 8 people can sit at one table - which we like as it is more pleasant than having many small tables placed next to each other where one person always has the table leg between their feet.

The food was very tasty. It's just a shame that there were four of us there on Sunday and we were all hit by stomach bugs on Tuesday. Unfortunately, hygiene is not that important there. Too bad!

The food was really delicious, freshly prepared and tasted great! However, the portions were almost too big - a little smaller would have been better. Super nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and ambience. Unfortunately, the employees seemed a bit distant to us and weren't quite as friendly. Unfortunately, the menu didn't really convince us, especially when it came to the sushi. The menu selection wasn't quite what we wanted. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the sushi was exceptionally good. Unfortunately, our food was not as beautifully prepared as you can see from videos and other pictures, as you can see from our own pictures. So we were a bit disappointed overall, but would come back.

Was there with my girlfriend. It was ok, there were small flaws with the food that my friend described in a review. Nevertheless, 3 stars were given. The restaurant has reported the review and plans to take “legal action” against it. So now my review of these staff. Reporting reviews just because they go below 4 stars is disgusting behavior at its best. I will never go there again and will discourage anyone who doesn't want to support something like that.

Amazing food, great service and beautiful interior for a great dinner. I got the clay pot beef - the beef was medium rare on a pot dish which is not so common. The taste of the meat was absolutely wonderful and the juices mixed in the vegetables enriched the experience. For the vegetarian dish we had the curry which was also wonderful and not too overpowering to lose the flavour from the salad and vegetables. We recommend the side dishes as they are also very tasty, plus the home made lemonades are great.

Very nice shop in the middle of town. Great ambience and atmosphere, the service was very attentive and tried hard. We felt very comfortable. The food was ok, the salmon wasn't super fresh in our opinion. We didn't eat everything, but it was beautifully presented and the prices were reasonable.

I was here for lunch last Sunday. Our waiter seemed a bit uninterested from the start, but we were still able to order quickly. Our sushi starter came quickly and was also very tasty. After the main courses were served we were no longer noticed. Unfortunately, about 1/4 of the way through my dish I found a black hair in my food. Of course that can happen, but the way it was handled was completely unprofessional. When I was able to draw our waiter's attention to us and pointed out the hair, he picked it out of my food with his fingers and examined it at the table. When he was done he said it wouldn't be a hair from an employee but I would get a 10% discount. That left me a little speechless because of course I didn't want to finish the food anymore. There was neither an apology nor an offer to recreate my dish. When I asked him to take the plate with him, he was surprised and immediately came back to the table and discussed with me the exact origin of the hair and was generally not very customer-oriented. Ultimately my food was taken off the bill but the way it was handled was just very unpleasant and we felt very uncomfortable with the situation and how it was handled. When we finally wanted to pay, we noticed that the entire staff was eating together and we again had the impression of being a disturbing fringe figure. Of course, the staff should also have the opportunity to eat in peace, but in my opinion at least one person should still be accessible to the guests. I would like to emphasize again that the food tasted good and of course it can happen that a hair ends up on the plate and for me there would be no reason to write a negative review, but unfortunately the complaint management would.
