Absolutely fantastic! We tried several things at Koi 1984 – sushi, Argentinian steak, curry with rice, a cocktail, and the octopus salad – everything was incredibly delicious! Not a single moment when I wasn't satisfied. I initially thought it would be like other restaurants, but it's much better! I'll definitely be going back.

Koi is one of the best Asian restaurants in the city, alongside Hiroko and Yoshoku. The homemade drinks are so delicious that I sometimes come here with friends just for drinks. My summer favorite is the Midori Koi. Of course, they offer sushi, as you'd expect everywhere, but there are also plenty of other options like ramen, finger food, udon, rice bowls, and fried dishes. Vegetarian/vegan options are available, but rather limited. The small, deep-fried whole crab was the biggest surprise. There are several items on the menu that other restaurants don't offer, so you can try something new. As for the ambiance: quantity has clearly been prioritized over quality. There are many seats, but they are quite cramped, which is the only downside to this restaurant, as it restricts wheelchair access. However, wheelchair access is possible.

KOI 1984 in Regensburg isn't just a restaurant – it's a culinary mini-vacation, a taste of jetlag from pure indulgence. From the very first bite, you'll seriously wonder if you've been accidentally teleported to a high-end kitchen in Tokyo. The dishes are so perfectly balanced that you might briefly consider adopting the chef. The service is attentive without being intrusive – almost as if they could read your mind (dangerously good!). Anyone who leaves here not full and happy simply has the wrong stomach. A definite recommendation – but be warned: it's addictive!

We've eaten here twice now. The sushi here is very good. Probably one of the best we've had in Regensburg. On our last visit, we also had an appetizer whose name reminded us of bao buns. Banh bao filled with chicken. Also very tasty; we'll definitely order it again. Otherwise, we've tried various sushi variations here. Highly recommended. You might get lucky with a table on weekends, so it's best to make a reservation to be on the safe side.

Unfortunately, the food arrived very late—they were probably forgotten. It happens sometimes. It was handled professionally. The staff was good and the service was generally good, but unfortunately, the wait for the main course was a bit long—about an hour.

Arrived in Regensburg late at night. We thought we'd have a nice meal. We were allowed to eat here, but everything was served at once. After that, we felt like we had to leave. The pho tasted good, though.

My absolute favorite sushi in Regensburg! 😍 There are many good sushi restaurants in the city, but the sushi at Koi has that special something and stands out in terms of flavor. It's not drowning in sauce, the rice is perfect, and everything is super fresh. No matter what you order, it's always delicious. The drinks are also special, look great, and taste really good. I went to this restaurant and was unfortunately very disappointed. I ordered €15 ramen, which tasted absolutely disgusting—it was completely inedible. I also had lemongrass water (€4), which had no flavor at all. My final bill came to €23, and the staff informed me that card payments are only accepted for amounts over €25. This means that if you don't have cash, you're forced to add a euro or two, even if you absolutely don't want to tip. Overall, a very unpleasant experience—both in terms of the food and the service.

This was my first time at this sushi restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. A variety of creative rolls and great options for vegetarians too. The service was friendly, the ambiance modern yet cozy. The prices are fair for the quality you get.

Never again – poor service in the rain and cold. We were very disappointed with our visit. Although numerous tables inside were visibly free, we were told that everything was reserved and we would have to sit outside – in the pouring rain and cold weather! Even after more than an hour, the supposedly reserved tables were still empty, giving the impression that we were simply turned away without any valid reason. The service was also unfriendly and unaccommodating, even though it was clear that the situation was unacceptable for guests. No offer of blankets, no solution – nothing. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. We will definitely not be back and advise others to think carefully about whether they are truly welcome here.

A beautiful restaurant, and it was soooo delicious! At first, it was a bit hectic because there weren't enough seats available, even though we had a reservation (but we were also a bit early), but they pushed the tables together so everyone had room and generally made a great effort and were very friendly. The sushi is wow, the fish feels fresh, we've eaten there 2 times. It was really delicious. A small thing that maybe could be a bother: depending on who's serving, they might not speak English or German at all and we didn't get a bill. Sometimes, you need to ask for a second portion of soja sauce. Personally, it doesn't bother me, the quality is really good, which left me pleasantly surprised. They deserve 5 stars. It's busy most of the times, for the second evening we made a reservation. Dessert (mocha ice cream) is also amazing!

We also went there for dinner on Tuesday, June 17, 2025—also without a reservation—but at 5 p.m. Our vegan dish was delicious, very appetizingly presented, and not too spicy. Very upset, we booked a table in this establishment and thought that they would really reserve it for us. But when we arrived he said that there were empty tables anyway and we could sit wherever we wanted. We made an order and only at the end the waiter said that payment by card was not possible, at that moment we could not withdraw money from the ATM. This was a lovely family friendly establishment located in the historic area of Regensberg Germany. Accepts Euro and Credit card for payment. Lively staff most of which can speak multiple languages to include, German, Vietnamese and English making ordering easy. No rush dinning with plenty of delicious menu options ranging from Sushi, soups, appetizers, coke drinks and alcohol, rice bowls and more. Great location to have both cooked and raw authentic and new sushi dishes. Located 40 minutes from JMRC Hohenfels. Very busy streets. No parking near restaurant, but parking is located in the surrounding areas. Total bill for a family of four/ drinks and shareable option was 💶88 euro.

The food is delicious and the value for money is top-notch! The homemade lemonades are delicious. The location is ordinary. There's not much privacy at the table, as the tables are very close together.

We were there on Sunday lunchtime. The ambience is excellent. The presentation of the drinks is the finest. Unfortunately the food leaves a lot to be desired. The vegetables were fresh, the duck definitely wasn't, it was neither crispy nor really soft. The Special for 2 had a mountain of completely tasteless noodles on it. Even the 3 small sauces didn't make up for it. The green salad (garnish), which was sometimes very plentiful on the plates, was completely unseasoned. A quick toss in a dressing would have been enough. The summer rolls were simple, like at any snack bar...unfortunately. Unfortunately the sashimi wasn't worth the money. At most, the 6 tiny slices weighed 70g for €12.50. The portions, especially the main courses, are very small. You definitely won't feel full without an appetizer. The five of us paid €166.30. 1 drink each, a small, simple starter and a main course. Here the ambience and appearance of the food and drinks determine the price, unfortunately the taste, size and quality of the food are not convincing. We ate much better there. For the high price, we would have expected much more.

We were visiting Regensburg and went back to KOI 1984. Our food was again very good and freshly prepared. We had a mega crunchy sushi as a starter. Then udon noodles with duck and phoe real soup. I am now finally a sushi fan. Our nice evening was rounded off by the incredibly nice ladies from the service.

The restaurant had very good food, though id prefer a bit larger of portion sizes. We sat outside which was nice however, I guess another store attached to the restaurant is having renovations done and there was a port a potty sitting out next to some of the guests while they ate. Only an eyesore for us but table placement may need to be considered when sitting outside

Vegan duck and lemonade was very nice

We were there for the first time yesterday. It is very nicely equipped, you feel very comfortable and can go out and eat in a relaxed manner. We all ordered different things and the conclusion we all came to was: the food tasted excellent. I ordered a sushi platter for two people because I thought I could easily manage it anyway. But I have to admit that the crowd really made me struggle and I ended up having to hand something over to my colleagues because I simply couldn't do everything.

I am extremely upset about the disastrous service at your restaurant. I had a reservation for February 14, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. that was already confirmed, and yet it was simply forgotten. When I tried to make contact by phone, I was simply rejected without warning and hung up on. Such unprofessional behavior is simply unacceptable and shows that you have no respect for your guests. What was a real shame, however, was that we were discreetly sent out after 1.5 hours even though we had already said that we would like some more dessert. We made reservations at 6:30 p.m. Apparently the table was reserved for 8 p.m. But we were only informed of this at 8:00 p.m., along with the bill. The first and last visit there for us. We can't even drink the drinks, including a bottle of Prosecco for €45, in peace

The restaurant is really busy and a reservation is necessary - especially in the evening. The dishes were convincing and very tasty, I had them 23. KIMCHICHI (really spicy, but that was intended) 66. UDON'T DIET with duck (simply delicious in combination) The cold (!) sake is also really good and is also a treat for Franconians who prefer dry wines. The service was friendly and professional and gave us really good advice on the sake selection. If we are in Regensburg again, we will come back to Koi1984!

The food took so long (more than 30 minutes) to get to us. Service was very bad and inadequate. The guy almost looked irritated from the start. We had ramen and seafood don. Taste wise, both were ok (but not the best). But the starters (spring roll) was very good.

The food and ambience is very nice. The tables are lined up a bit close together. You have to take into account the limited booking time. On weekends it is from 7:30 p.m The reservation is unlimited. Online system for reservations works very well! Overall good 👍

I first wanted to make a reservation by phone, then I was told yes 7:30 p.m. would be fine, then they said it would be better at 6 p.m. or 8 p.m. and then I said I had to clarify it briefly, I would put myself on mute for a moment, please just stay tuned for a moment. I put it on mute and the lady hangs up. I call back 10 seconds later and no one answers. Then 10 minutes later I call again and say I want to make a reservation at 7:30 p.m. or 8 p.m., then the lady only says 8:30 p.m. That's just annoying. Then I no longer reserved.

Good Asian, fresh products, very nice presentation. We went to celebrate New Year's Eve. They hadn't noted our reservation but still found us a table, adorable! The only downsides of the evening: We waited 45 minutes for our dishes and the room was very noisy. This is not a restaurant with privacy

We had reserved for 5, but there was only 1 space for 4 people. We were promised 2 hours, but we were only able to order after 1 hour. The food was super delicious! The service, however, was very unfriendly. We had ordered dessert and a drink, but we didn't get the drink because we didn't have enough time for it. It's a shame, because the food is really good.

Basically a good restaurant; good food, moderate, reasonable price and nice interior design (at first glance). Even though it was full, there was a good conversation. The ramen was tasty. However, the menus are particularly worn out. We sat at the counter and all the dishes were stacked there. Directly in view is a particularly tasty flycatcher. Great at first glance, but I wouldn't go back again.
