KOI 1984 in Regensburg

Wir sind wegen der appetitlichen und gemütlichen Bilder auf Google dorthin gegangen und wurden nicht enttäuscht! Das Sushi und die Getränke waren absolut köstlich und preiswert, mit viel Liebe und Sorgfalt zubereitet. Die Zutaten waren von höchster Qualität, besonders der Sake hat uns begeistert! Man kann sich jedes Sushi nach Wunsch zusammenstellen lassen (wir haben zum Beispiel auf Gurke und Lauch verzichtet und stattdessen mehr Avocado und Frischkäse bekommen ♥️). Und das Beste: Man kann die Getränke auch mitnehmen! Wir haben sie in einem süßen Cloud9-Becher bekommen – Cloud9 ist übrigens auch ein sehr einladendes und leckeres Café, das zum Koi 1984 gehört. Das Personal war insgesamt fantastisch, sprach fließend Englisch, war hilfsbereit und freundlich! Stets mit einem Lächeln und guter Laune bedient, wirkte der ganze Laden sehr ordentlich, sauber und gemütlich. Definitiv ein toller Ort, um mit Freunden abzuhängen, denn wir haben einige Gruppen gesehen, die sich dort prächtig amüsierten! Wir haben keine Fotos vom Sushi gemacht (wir haben es kurz danach gegessen), aber hier sind die Getränke, die wir mitgenommen haben!

Schönes Restaurant und gutes Essen – 4 von 5 Sternen! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Das Koi 1984 in Regensburg ist ein wirklich schönes Restaurant mit sehr vielen Sitzplätzen im Innenbereich. Wir kamen zur Mittagszeit ohne Reservierung vorbei und haben problemlos einen Tisch für zwei Personen bekommen. Die Getränke und die Vorspeise wurden extrem fix serviert. Beim Hauptgang waren wir dann allerdings überrascht, da dieser nicht allzu fix kam – hier mussten wir gute 20-25 Minuten warten. Das Essen war insgesamt gut, aber geschmacklich für unseren Geschmack ein bisschen zu mild. Etwas mehr Würze hätte dem Ganzen gutgetan. Dennoch sind wir mit vollem Magen und einem guten Gefühl wieder gegangen. Solide 4 Sterne!

Wir waren jetzt schon öfters hier. Ein besonderes Erlebnis hier zu Essen. Das Essen wird mit viel Liebe präsentiert und macht sofort Lust auf mehr. Mir persönlich schmeckt es hier besonders gut. Die Vorspeisen sind kreativ und Abwechslungsreich.

Sehr süßes Restaurant in der Nürnberger Innenstadt. Drinnen und draußen gibt es Sitzmöglichkeiten und das Personal ist nett.Hab die Ramen mit Hühnchen genommen und meine Begleitung hat die Udonsuppe genommen.

Das Essen(Sushi, udon, Frühlingsrolle)im KOI 1984 war handwerklich in Ordnung, aber leider eine geschmackliche Enttäuschung. Von der asiatischen Küche erwartet man eine gewisse Tiefe, Frische und Würze (Umami) – hier war es leider einfach nur fad und ohne echten Flavor. Für uns stimmte das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis dadurch nicht ganz. Ein zweiter Besuch ist nicht geplant.

Sehr schöner Muttertag bei euch gewesen 🤍 leckeres Essen, leckere Getränke, freundlicher Service - das einzige was ich kritisieren würde, wäre die Speisekarte die komplett auseinander fällt :(

Ich weiß nicht wieso das Restaurant so gut bewertet wurde. Es ist laut, die Stühle sind nicht die bequemsten und man wartet fast eine Stunde auf sein Essen. Die Optik ist vielleicht schön gestaltet aber das wars auch wieder. An der Strasse fahren ständig irgendwelche Autoposer rum, wofür das Restaurant zwar nichts kann aber ist finde ich wichtig anzumerken. Wer viel Zeit mitnimmt und ein paar Drinks trinken will bis sein Essen kommt sollte unbedingt her. Für alle anderen, die einfach nur Essen wollen ist es nicht empfehlenswert. Ah, die Preise sind teilweise auch übertrieben, für Udonnudeln mit Lachs 27€ zu verlangen ist etwas frech. Viele Grüße

Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist modern und gleichzeitig gemütlich – perfekt für einen entspannten Abend. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen und komme definitiv wieder!

Super leckeres Essen, super liebe Bedienung und mega schönes Ambiente! Das Essen kam super schnell, war frisch zubereitet und hat mega lecker geschmeckt. Auch extra Wünsche wurden perfekt ausgeführt. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die Ramen mit Tofu. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen!

Das Essen im Koi 1984 war gut – besonders die Ramen, die uns sehr gut geschmeckt haben. Dennoch waren wir am Ende etwas enttäuscht von unseren Sushi-Rollen. Wir bestellten die Spezialrolle Eel Salmon on Fire, die laut Menü außen Aal, flambierten Lachs und Tobiko und innen Frischkäse enthalten sollte. Allerdings hatten nur ein oder zwei der acht Stücke tatsächlich Aal, und Frischkäse war überhaupt nicht vorhanden – also entsprach es nicht unseren Erwartungen. Außerdem probierten wir die Spezialrolle Chef’s Recommendation, die als kreative Überraschung beschrieben wird. Leider sah sie fast identisch aus wie die Eel Salmon on Fire-Rolle – nur ohne Tobiko oben. Es wirkte eher wie dieselbe Rolle mit kleinen Änderungen, statt einer einzigartigen Kreation des Sushi-Chefs. Wir wissen nicht, ob es eine Verwechslung bei unserer Bestellung gab oder die Menübeschreibungen irreführend sind, aber insgesamt war das Erlebnis enttäuschend und entsprach nicht den Erwartungen, die das Menü geweckt hatte.

Das Essen war köstlich und das Ambiente insgesamt sehr angenehm. Ich würde jedoch dringend davon abraten, Hunde ins Restaurant mitzubringen. Neben uns saß ein Hund, der ununterbrochen gebellt hat. Ich verstehe, dass das Restaurant dafür nichts kann, aber es wäre vielleicht ratsam, die Gäste darauf hinzuweisen, dass sie ihren Hund zu Hause lassen sollten, wenn sie essen gehen wollen. Draußen ist es kein Problem, aber in einem Raum, der hallt, ist dieses Bellen die ganze Zeit unangenehm und hat unseren Restaurantbesuch ungenießbar gemacht.

Leider bekommt man die Gerichte nicht gleichzeitig. Wir haben ewig auf unser Essen gewartet und als die letzen ihr essen bekommen haben, waren die ersten schon wieder fertig 😭 sonst wäre das Essen leider kalt geworden. Ich hatte eie veggi donburi und irgendwie war da nicht mal ne soße dabei 🫣 trockene Angelegenheit😅 ansonsten wars ganz schön!

My absolute favorite restaurant when it comes to sushi!

There is serious need for more employees. 1 person to sit people, take orders and clear tables is too much. It significantly add to customer wait time. We waited for over 20 minutes before our order was take, then wait more for the food to come. 1 or 2 more people on the floor would be great.

Very pleasant interior and service, absolutely delicious food. Good lunch offer with prices around €10. We tasted ramen, salad, tofu with vegetables, sushi, coconut soup and delicious fried duck. All dishes were perfectly seasoned.

We went about two weeks ago on a Friday evening. Bad decision! We were only allowed to stay for 1.5 hours (we knew that in advance), but having to wait so long before a server even looked at us was really annoying. We didn't even have time for a second drink. At exactly 8 p.m., they took our payment and practically kicked us out. There were already many new guests at the door, and some of the people near the door were constantly getting a cold draft. We were okay. The food itself was good, but the service was completely unacceptable. We would have liked to have dessert, but no chance. Since they also don't have a bar where we could have waited 15 minutes, we were really very dissatisfied. It might be okay during the week, but definitely not on weekends.

The food was delicious and the service very attentive. The seat right by the door was rather cold and uncomfortable. Overall, the restaurant was quite crowded, which detracted somewhat from the ambiance.

We were really disappointed with the poor quality of the food. From the lunch menu, we ordered the duck with rice and curry sauce, as well as a bento box. The duck was neither crispy nor fresh, and I actually felt nauseous afterward, even though I don't have a sensitive stomach. The vegetables in the sauce were large chunks of bell pepper, a piece of broccoli, pumpkin mush, and carrots. The bento box looked nice, but it didn't impress us either. We had to wait over fifteen minutes to order, even though the place was practically empty. The atmosphere couldn't have been more uninviting. I have no idea how this place manages to have 4.5 stars right now, or maybe we were just unlucky. In any case, we won't be going back.

Okay, so the service was friendly but took half an hour to arrive. We were a group and the food wasn't delivered at the same time; some only got their food after the others had finished. Afterwards, most of us had stomach cramps (most likely food poisoning). The food wasn't cooked through, and they even demanded a tip. Nice restaurant, but not recommended.

The food was good, as always. The dishes and cutlery were tasteful, as was the entire decor. Unfortunately, something else spoiled our visit this time. Although we were still in the middle of our meal, we were told we had to leave because our 1.5-hour reservation time had expired. However, the main course wasn't served until 15 minutes before, as we had already had to wait quite a while for our food.

A beautifully decorated restaurant with incredibly friendly service. We found the food excellent, especially the ramen, which reminded us very much of the authentic Japanese version. The prices were reasonable, although the 90-minute reservation time was a bit short.

I had the CocoCoco (soup tapas) as a starter. It tasted good, but the chicken could have been softer/more tender. The sushi was beautifully presented and also delicious. The ambiance is pleasant and cozy. The 1.5-hour time slots can make you feel rushed. What I personally found bothersome was the constant commotion behind us from waiting guests for their tables (sometimes 10 or more). This meant the door wasn't always closed properly, and there was a draft (someone else mentioned this as well). Another downside was that the server asked for drinks 15 minutes before the end of our time slot, took our order, and brought them to us. The problem was that our drinks were still half full when they said, "Please pay, we need the table," so we had to gulp them down. And yes, the 1.5-hour time slot was communicated, but the staff could have seen that we only had 15 minutes left. Overall, it was still a nice experience and the food was good. I'd gladly come again.

A fantastic restaurant. The angel hair shrimp appetizer was a highlight. One portion is perfectly sufficient for two people if you plan on having plenty of sushi later! The homemade drinks are all highly recommended; I would even come back just for the drinks. The sushi was also delicious, although we were quite full. Takeout was, of course, available.

The dumplings were good. The sushi was not only delicious but also very visually appealing. The ramen was also excellent. The highlight of the visit was the mango spritzer (Karashi Koi) – very fruity and absolutely delicious. I'd gladly come again!

We spontaneously decided to eat here on Saturday afternoon and got a table without any trouble. We ordered 1984 shrimp ceviche (amazing!), gyozas, a duck curry, and the "My Best Friend" sushi set, along with two fancy sodas and a "White Blossom" long drink. The drinks and appetizers arrived quickly, and everything tasted delicious, especially the White Blossom and the ceviche, which were top-notch. The main courses were also good; I was particularly impressed by the Dragon Fire Rolls in the sushi mix. Overall, it was a very pleasant surprise. The service was also very friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. We'll gladly come back the next time we're in Regensburg.

We've eaten there several times because we love the delicious food and atmosphere, however, today it only gets 3 stars! The reason is that it was incredibly drafty! The guests apparently can't manage to close the door properly – and the problem is, it doesn't close on its own! They absolutely need to address this during the cold winter months! Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Otherwise, I can highly recommend it!

Koi is one of the best Asian restaurants in the city, alongside Hiroko and Yoshoku. The homemade drinks are so delicious that I sometimes come here with friends just for drinks. My summer favorite is the Midori Koi. Of course, they offer sushi, as you'd expect everywhere, but there are also plenty of other options like ramen, finger food, udon, rice bowls, and fried dishes. Vegetarian/vegan options are available, but rather limited. The small, deep-fried whole crab was the biggest surprise. There are several items on the menu that other restaurants don't offer, so you can try something new. As for the ambiance: quantity has clearly been prioritized over quality. There are many seats, but they are quite cramped, which is the only downside to this restaurant, as it restricts wheelchair access. However, wheelchair access is possible.

KOI 1984 in Regensburg isn't just a restaurant – it's a culinary mini-vacation, a taste of jetlag from pure indulgence. From the very first bite, you'll seriously wonder if you've been accidentally teleported to a high-end kitchen in Tokyo. The dishes are so perfectly balanced that you might briefly consider adopting the chef. The service is attentive without being intrusive – almost as if they could read your mind (dangerously good!). Anyone who leaves here not full and happy simply has the wrong stomach. A definite recommendation – but be warned: it's addictive!

We've eaten here twice now. The sushi here is very good. Probably one of the best we've had in Regensburg. On our last visit, we also had an appetizer whose name reminded us of bao buns. Banh bao filled with chicken. Also very tasty; we'll definitely order it again. Otherwise, we've tried various sushi variations here. Highly recommended. You might get lucky with a table on weekends, so it's best to make a reservation to be on the safe side.

I went to this restaurant and was unfortunately very disappointed. I ordered €15 ramen, which tasted absolutely disgusting—it was completely inedible. I also had lemongrass water (€4), which had no flavor at all. My final bill came to €23, and the staff informed me that card payments are only accepted for amounts over €25. This means that if you don't have cash, you're forced to add a euro or two, even if you absolutely don't want to tip. Overall, a very unpleasant experience—both in terms of the food and the service.

This was my first time at this sushi restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised. A variety of creative rolls and great options for vegetarians too. The service was friendly, the ambiance modern yet cozy. The prices are fair for the quality you get.

Never again – poor service in the rain and cold. We were very disappointed with our visit. Although numerous tables inside were visibly free, we were told that everything was reserved and we would have to sit outside – in the pouring rain and cold weather! Even after more than an hour, the supposedly reserved tables were still empty, giving the impression that we were simply turned away without any valid reason. The service was also unfriendly and unaccommodating, even though it was clear that the situation was unacceptable for guests. No offer of blankets, no solution – nothing. Absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant in this price range. We will definitely not be back and advise others to think carefully about whether they are truly welcome here.

A beautiful restaurant, and it was soooo delicious! At first, it was a bit hectic because there weren't enough seats available, even though we had a reservation (but we were also a bit early), but they pushed the tables together so everyone had room and generally made a great effort and were very friendly. The sushi is wow, the fish feels fresh, we've eaten there 2 times. It was really delicious. A small thing that maybe could be a bother: depending on who's serving, they might not speak English or German at all and we didn't get a bill. Sometimes, you need to ask for a second portion of soja sauce. Personally, it doesn't bother me, the quality is really good, which left me pleasantly surprised. They deserve 5 stars. It's busy most of the times, for the second evening we made a reservation. Dessert (mocha ice cream) is also amazing!

We also went there for dinner on Tuesday, June 17, 2025—also without a reservation—but at 5 p.m. Our vegan dish was delicious, very appetizingly presented, and not too spicy. Very upset, we booked a table in this establishment and thought that they would really reserve it for us. But when we arrived he said that there were empty tables anyway and we could sit wherever we wanted. We made an order and only at the end the waiter said that payment by card was not possible, at that moment we could not withdraw money from the ATM. This was a lovely family friendly establishment located in the historic area of Regensberg Germany. Accepts Euro and Credit card for payment. Lively staff most of which can speak multiple languages to include, German, Vietnamese and English making ordering easy. No rush dinning with plenty of delicious menu options ranging from Sushi, soups, appetizers, coke drinks and alcohol, rice bowls and more. Great location to have both cooked and raw authentic and new sushi dishes. Located 40 minutes from JMRC Hohenfels. Very busy streets. No parking near restaurant, but parking is located in the surrounding areas. Total bill for a family of four/ drinks and shareable option was 💶88 euro.

Great food, friendly staff, great atmosphere

The food is delicious and the value for money is top-notch! The homemade lemonades are delicious. The location is ordinary. There's not much privacy at the table, as the tables are very close together.

Were very satisfied. We spontaneously got a table on Sunday evening without a reservation. The drinks look great and were to our liking. The sushi starter was delicious and came very quickly. I can highly recommend the ramen as a main course, the broth is super tasty! Can only recommend it.

We both absolutely love this restaurant. The map and the interior are very beautiful and clearly designed. The service is very nice and accommodating and the food is simply fantastic 🤗 there is a great selection of tapas and sushi or udon if you prefer. Definitely to be recommended!

There were 5 of us at Koi on Saturday evening. The waitresses were very friendly and quick. The food came according to the number of guests. We had different dishes and everyone was very satisfied. The only negative point was that the music was a bit too loud for a restaurant.
