We stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite to eat after a long drive. Friendly staff, excellent food, absolutely fair prices, and everything was clean – even the restrooms, even though we arrived right before closing time. I can absolutely recommend it!

I'm from Braunschweig, and the Kohlpott is the best I've come across recently. A manageable and uncluttered menu with a focus on schnitzel. I was thrilled; it was exceptionally tasty and reasonably priced. I 100 percent recommend this restaurant.

Over an hour of waiting for the food – no information, no apology. I sat at my table for over an hour, was ignored, and received no feedback on the status of my order. Eventually, I got up and left – I got my fill somewhere else. Of course, I still had to pay for the drink. The icing on the cake: When I asked, all I got from the waiter was a "That's normal here." Conclusion: If aimless waiting without service is "normal" for this restaurant, I'll gladly seek out something "unnormal" in the future – namely, genuine hospitality.

A great place to eat (steak, schnitzel, and burger were our choices) and take a break after a hike, bike ride, or cycle tour. It's within easy reach of the Hermann Monument and the Taoasis lavender fields.

We were very impressed with the food and the atmosphere. The food (side dish, main course, and dessert) was very hot and delicious. The wait for the food was a bit long, though. Otherwise, everything was to our satisfaction.

We went there for spare ribs. The food was good. The service was really fast.

Hello, we were there on a Sunday evening around 8 p.m. There were about 5-6 other tables there, and we managed to get a table for two people without any problems. You can't complain about the food; it was good. However, the service could have been improved. My boyfriend and I have been working in the restaurant industry for several years, so I think we can judge it quite well. They basically just ordered drinks and food, served drinks and food, and took the cash. They didn't ask if everything was okay or anything else, even though there were four people behind the counter and, as mentioned, only five or six tables. The staff was friendly, but with some of the waiters, you have to wonder if they're just really bored and can't even speak clearly, or if they've had a lack of training. Accordingly, I would give the kitchen four stars and the service, unfortunately, only one or two. What a shame…

The food was delicious and arrived without a long wait. I hadn't tried the crusts before, but they're super tasty and a brilliant alternative to fries. You absolutely have to order a bowl of Choron for dipping the crusts. The Hermanns schnitzel with onions and a fried egg was neither too big nor too small. The meat was very tender and juicy, and the onions were cooked to perfection. This won't be the last time I treat myself to a schnitzel here ;-).

We celebrated our wedding in the Kohlpott hall with around 65 guests. The food and service were great. The discussions regarding the food and the celebration were flawless. A special plus point is that the food was gluten-free! :)

We usually like to eat there. But last time we were very disappointed. Four of us sat outside for 30 minutes and the waitress only took care of the only other neighboring table that was occupied. After we got our own menus, we were asked about our food and drink preferences. The food was good and sufficient. Unfortunately, we were not asked again whether we had any further wishes. When the waitress cleared the table next door, we asked for the bill. After another half hour someone came to ask us if we wanted drinks...they had completely forgotten our request to pay. After this experience, we found the question of how much change we wanted back, i.e. an indirect question of how much tip we wanted to give, a bit strange. Very unfortunate.

We looked forward to it for a long time and especially to the vegetarian versions and then, despite the start of the day (5:30 p.m.), there were no more vegetarian or vegan schnitzels. Unfortunately really bad. Slow service on top of that. Unfortunately not recommended.

Very nice staff and fast service. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, but not earth-shattering either. Unfortunately it's very loud and therefore a bit uncomfortable, but that's simply because it seems to be very popular.

Clean gastronomy and friendly and nice service. The portions of the food tasted good. But.....the schnitzel was moldy. For this price! The quality of the meat is more for a backyard snack bar. Then Wednesday is advertised as schnitzel day.

The service at the bowling alley works great. The meal afterwards was great! Super tasty, meat on point, side dishes delicious. Despite the fact that the restaurant was completely booked, there were no long waiting times. Service friendly and quick. What more could you want!!

As always everything is fine. The schnitzel was delicious, the service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere outside in the tent with heaters was cozy. In terms of price it was also absolutely fine.

We (friends and family) are actually repeat visitors to this restaurant. Unfortunately, our last two consecutive visits to this restaurant were rather disappointing. Both times we reserved a table at 6:00 p.m. The 1 drink order and food order worked relatively quickly. The restaurant was quite full and characterized by the loudness of the guests. After that, however, the service declined relatively quickly. We were left sitting at the table with empty drinks for almost 45 minutes. A friend's starter was completely forgotten. At 8 p.m., after almost 2 hours of waiting, our main courses were served. Unfortunately, a friend was forgotten, but the food was then served "quickly", probably because the restaurant was significantly emptier at that time. The main courses were all very tasty and the portion size was sufficient. Unfortunately, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our dessert. Due to the long wait for the food and the reduction in service, we will probably eat somewhere else in the future. What a shame! Actually, we were always enthusiastic about the cabbage pot.

We were in the Kohlpott again after previous visits. Unfortunately, the quality of the food on offer has deteriorated quite a bit. Too bad.

Unfortunately we were given a place in a cold tent. Although spotlights from above, but ice cold on the legs. Sometimes less is more. Background noise is very extreme (it's a matter of perception). A birthday was also celebrated there...that's okay too, but not that people smoked at the table.

The planning of our wedding celebration was taken very seriously. When a few items from our buffet ran out (because it was so good), an alternative was provided without much effort. And everything at a reasonable price. Other locations can learn more than a few things from this.

We had dinner with 6 people. We had our table at 6 p.m. Unfortunately it was very crowded and very loud, you could hardly have a conversation. Drinks came quickly and food was taken early. The starters finally came after a good 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the main courses didn't come. Until we asked at 7:40 p.m. because the table in front of us had already paid and guests who came at 7 p.m. had received their food. At around 8 p.m., after 2 hours, we got our food. Some of them are delicious, but some of them are served cold and in cold plates or pans. What was annoying was that my pork tenderloin was very dry and disappointingly cold. The vegetables were barely seasoned and were classic frozen vegetables. The schnitzels are all ok and fairly priced. Even after ordering dessert and the restaurant was already empty, it took a good half hour for the desserts to arrive. But the "hot love" was more like cold love, since the raspberries weren't really warm. In total we paid a little more than 200 EUR with drinks, which is fair for 6 people, but I don't think we would come back to eat again due to the long waiting times for food and the noise.

Fades more and more over the years. Result: portions smaller, loveless, and the taste is far removed from what it once was. Terribly loud atmosphere, no more comfort. After the food is on the table, which usually takes a very long time, it is almost impossible to get something to drink. The best example of what happens when you always want more.

We had our Christmas party here. The buffet was varied and delicious. There was something for everyone. The ambience was suitable for our purpose. We had space to eat and dance. The staff was friendly.

We ate at Kohlpott with 27 people, we had pre-ordered the food. It was applied on time and for everyone at the same time. The dishes were mostly very tasty, but there was only a really small amount of orange sauce with the (wonderfully fried) goose leg, so the dumplings were quite dry. We were very disappointed that, contrary to what we had previously agreed, we didn't have the room for ourselves. During our meal, tables and chairs were brought in and another 20 people were placed in the small room, where there were now almost 50 people. The resulting noise made conversations almost impossible. Several of our participants left early. That was a real shame.

It's crazy what the store has become. We have always enjoyed going to the Kohlpott for years and have also experienced one or two family celebrations there. Always satisfied and happy with the choice!

The rating refers to eating in the Kohlpott, which is very tasty and always recommended. However, I wouldn't pick it up from the Kohlpott. We have a 5 minute drive and the food is minimally warm.

We're coming to eat schnitzel. The food is fresh and very well prepared. The portions could be larger. As a hungry man you would take the dishes offered as XXL. Be sure to make a reservation, because coming spontaneously and hoping for a table rarely works.

I've been coming there for years now to eat, celebrate (hall) and for some time now to go bowling. I've never been disappointed, the value for money here is just right, the owner couple always comes up with something new, grilling lamb salmon, suckling pig, heated tents or even open, roofed huts for the summer. Not to forget a great team and a great kitchen.

Absolutely recommended restaurant. The rooms are large and there is no dignified atmosphere, but the rest is just great. There are two large parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the restaurant. The waitresses are consistently quick, attentive and very nice. In addition to the seasonal part, the menu leaves nothing to be desired. There should be something for every fan of German cuisine. The price-performance ratio is above average. You can check on the Internet to see whether something special is being offered at even cheaper conditions. For example on “Schnitzel Day”. This was definitely not our last visit to the Kohlpott.

German food, lots of choice of schnitzel, food is delicious, atmosphere is somewhat canteen-like. What bothered me was the pushy waitress, there were enough free tables, there were guests besides us, we were asked to order very often, even though we had already ordered a lot, in the end we left.

I was very lucky to be able to experience the very nice service at Kohlpott as a DJ at a wedding party. The food was very, very tasty, the ambience was a dream and I was even able to put on my light show. My recommendation for anyone who would like to throw a party 👍 🥳

We celebrated our gold wedding anniversary with 60 guests in the Kohlpott. Our guests and we were thrilled by the location, the accommodating innkeepers and the friendly service staff. No wishes remained unfulfilled. The food was high quality, excellent, tasty and plentiful. The highlight was the flamed salmon, which was cooked on an open fire in the area directly in front of the hall. The hall is modernly furnished with a bar, dance floor and stage for live music, DJ or similar. The prices are great with excellent quality. We will continue to enjoy celebrating there again and again in the future. Our special thanks go to the innkeeper Margerita, who gave us very good advice.

One of the last good restaurants in our region. The food is always amazing, regardless of whether it's German cuisine or a themed evening burger, etc. The theme evenings are simply great. People like to pull off drunk or rather drunk people, the last time they ordered a steak to take away and what did they get was pasta worth €25 So be careful not to pay straight away but have it shown first And the boss hardly lets you talk to him and when he does he says leave!!! Everything is wonderful. As a vegan person, I am never judged or looked at stupidly for extra requests and it always tastes good. My recommendation: vegan fried potatoes. They are super delicious :) I can also recommend the vegan options on the menu. Overall, the Kohlpott is a great club. The atmosphere outside is very nice and pleasant. We were there with several people because our mother was celebrating her 90th birthday and invited everyone to dinner. We can't say anything negative about the serving staff, the girls did their job well (at least for us) and were often there to look for drinks. We ordered appetizers, which were delivered quickly. But then we had to wait a long time for the main course. Several times someone has come forward to ask if there is a problem. We were told that we would have to be patient a little longer. Until one of us got a little angry and said that we would be leaving soon if the food didn't come. After an hour the food was finally brought. We also had a child at the table who became angry and restless even after an hour. What we observed was worse: guests who came after us received their food within 15 minutes. When we asked again why many other tables got their food earlier even though they came much later than us, we were told very firmly that we now have to wait, that there were other tables that had been waiting much longer than us! Long story short: the dishes and orders are not processed in order. Adequate waiting times are only possible if you put pressure on employees and threaten to leave. Eating there with children is absolutely NOT recommended! Our 90-year-old mother found it quite unpleasant there and regretted her invitation. In terms of food, it was ok, we liked it and would actually go there again, but due to the extreme waiting time and the high volume inside, as well as the unfair handling of the branches, we would absolutely never go there again and would not recommend it to anyone ! Dear readers of this review: Please go somewhere else, this restaurant is ok in terms of food but the unfair treatment and waiting time is an absolute disgrace. A reasonable apology from the operator is not to be expected, only the specific note: “Now please wait!” There are many good other restaurants in the area. We will definitely share this experience with our friends and definitely let other people know about it.

Popular restaurant for many occasions.

Walked in and was ignored by 5 waitresses. Then we got a seat next to the counter where you could listen to others reserving a table the whole time you were eating. The food went like this, fried potatoes were greasy and saltless. So the chef is not in love. I'll try again in a few years.
