KOH SAMUI - CITY in Frankfurt am Main

Terrible service. We were three people and went there for dinner on a Tuesday evening. When we first arrived, half of the restaurant was empty. We ordered one starter to share and main courses. After one hour starter came. We waited another hour for main course but nothing came. Waiters just kept saying it is coming it is coming. We left the restaurant after waiting 2 hrs of no food no service no nothing. Please avoid this place.

Amazing place ! Amazing food (fresh, not from microwave!) super tasty. Magnificent Service. That kind of service should be an example for other Restaurants in Frankfurt. In 2024 people forgot (usually in Germany) what’s mean proper Service in Restaurant. Thank you very much KOH SAMUI for great atmosphere, amazing service and genius food. I will comeback, thats for sure. If you are searching for Thai food - thats the best place.

€8.50 for four mini (!) pieces of tofu. I'm speechless

Great food but with a bland aftertaste on the bill. This was my first visit to Koh Samui because I like Thai cuisine and always try out new restaurants. The food was very tasty, just a little too hot, but better that way than the other way around. What surprised me incredibly in the end was the hefty price for my fried egg at Krapau, which I know as an integral part of the dish: €2.90 for a single egg!? That's more than 10% of the total bill. As delicious as it tasted and as nice as the service was, I just can't understand prices like that, hence only 3 stars.

Koh Samui was the Thai restaurant of our choice when we (four friends) met in Frankfurt. But with all my understanding for the problems in the catering industry and the high rents in the city center: I am prepared to spend money on a good meal, but not on one or two handfuls of fried rice with a few vegetables for 16, 90 EUR (the prices on the website download map are no longer current). Especially since the taste left a lot to be desired. The other women had a similar experience. Relatively small quantities at relatively high prices. We overlooked the rather cramped atmosphere with often quite loud guests as long as the price/performance ratio was still right. Now we're not going there anymore.

I have never eaten better Thai in Frankfurt. Unfortunately it's always pretty full - so reservations are not recommended

We have been here again for a long time. As always, the staff was very friendly and attentive. But it was delicious as always. Today we had Satay Gai and Ped Pad Krapau with fried eggs. The chicken satay was tasty and not too dry. The Ped Pat Krapau was excellent, and in my wife's opinion "the best in years". Plus a bottle of water. For a total of €33.10. Not exactly cheap. But it was worth it. All very tasty. Conclusion: Highly recommended

Had the green curry from the lunch menu. It was really delicious and definitely cheap for the large portion and taste. Will definitely try more here.

The decoration style of the restaurant is very comfortable, with a Thai flavor, the service staff is friendly and polite, and the flavor of the food is acceptable, but there is a strange salad, I don’t know what it is marinated with? It’s so salty that I can’t even eat it!

After we weren't as impressed with it in the last two years, this time it was surprisingly good. We will come again

A very friendly and pleasant restaurant with friendly service and nice furnishings. Prices are moderate and the lunch menu offers a wide range of dishes at a reduced price. Since it was already very hot outside, I asked for a cooler place inside and was offered a quiet table right next to the fan. There is a one star deduction for two things: The lack of WiFi, even though there is virtually no cell phone reception inside. The food is a bit too “Germanized”. Things could be more authentic here without scaring off customers. Ordered Thai spicy and probably out of caution it was only “spicy”, it wasn’t even very spicy. Still very tasty!

It was my first time in a Thai restaurant. We ordered two main courses and a salad. The fried chicken was super delicious and crunchy—definitely a must-try. However, the fish and the salad were difficult to eat due to the spiciness. Even though the waiter had already mentioned this, we still ordered them. If they say it's very spicy, believe them because it was indeed very spicy, and I relied on the iced teas (also very tasty) to cool down. While the dishes might be perfect for someone who enjoys spicy food, I found them too overwhelming. Additionally, the fish was challenging to eat as it came with a bubbling liquid due to a small flame underneath, and we were concerned it might spill over. Despite this, the restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, with nice interior design. The staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent. In conclusion, Koh Samui deserves a chance for its non-spicy dishes. My personal dislike for spicy food does not reflect the quality of the restaurant.

I was very strenuous and the weather was very windy. As an Asian person, I wanted to eat some warm soup. And did I find this restaurant!! Very friendly person and the soup with noodle was very tasty.

Old-fashioned curry with hardly any vegetables, but far too much canned bamboo. The soups are over-seasoned, austere, with tough, fibrous chicken with no lemongrass, galangal or coriander, but bamboo! The papaya salad was the only one of six dishes that tasted fresh, but with dried shrimp it was overpowering. The not-so-bad-tasting Pad Thai with far too much limp tofu. Conclusion: cheapest food at expensive prices, absolutely unworthy of a real Thai!

Great Thai, will definitely come back again! I had the Red Curry, it wasn’t as spicy as I like but excellent flavor! I had a hard time deciding what to get on the menu! The chicken Satay and spare ribs were excellent. If you’re looking for a break from the traditional German fare, this is a great choice.

It's great that there is such an authentic Thai restaurant in Frankfurt! Service was extraordinary. Very happy again. Better make a reservation, the word seems to have gotten around.

It was my first time stopping by to eat at this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I was very impressed. (I've walked past this shop 2 times) When I walked into the shop..the picture of the inside of the shop is..very beautiful. The decoration of the shop is Thai style, very classic and romantic. The photos came out very beautiful. The wait staff provide the best service. The taste of the food is beyond description because every menu item is delicious..👍 Who likes Thai food? Tasty Thai cuisine - not run-of-the-mill - great ambience, but steep prices

Everything is perfect there. Food, service, ambience. Always a pleasure.

We ate in this restaurant yesterday by chance. Despite not having a reservation (this would be an advantage on Valentine's Day), we were warmly welcomed and shown to a table. A great fish was recommended to us and the salad with chopped chicken meat and mint was also super tasty. In general the atmosphere was very pleasant… wooden decorations on the walls, pleasant music in the background and EXTREMELY FRIENDLY SERVICE! We can highly recommend the restaurant 🤎

Gutes Restaurant mit sehr netter Bedienung und entspannendem Ambiente. Leider wurden jetzt die Preise für die Mittagsgerichte stark angehoben. Grundsätzlich habe ich dafür zwar Verständnis, aber die Erhöhung bei vegetarischen Gerichten von 9,50 Euro auf 12,90 Euro, also um über 30 %, ist nicht zu rechtfertigen. Mit Getränk und Trinkgeld kommt man dann auf 18 Euro, was mir mittags dafür zu teuer ist. Ich werde daher nur noch selten hingehen.

Nichts besonders. Mein Fleisch in Teller richte und schmeckte sehr unangenehm.... wie verdorbene Fleisch. Will aber nimmand Anschuldigen mit meine Erfahrung.

Authentisches thailändisches Restaurant. Vor allem die Spezialitäten sind zu empfehlen.

Five stars food and service! Food is super delicious and Portion is huge!

I was walking past this spot and wasn’t sure if it was open. But they were. They open for lunch at 11:30 and I decided to try them out. The lady was very nice and apparently this place has been here for over 25 years. Very nice vibe and cool decorations. She was tending the plants which I loved. The food came out quickly and the green curry is spiced to perfection. The rice is cooked well and I have nothing to complain about.

Sehr umfangreiche Karte, eine nette Bedienung und ein schönes Ambiente. Aber irgendwie fehlte mir etwas die thailändische Würze, die Gerichte sind etwas zu sehr auf deutsche Gaumen abgeschmeckt.

Essen, Service und Ambiente haben mir sehr gefallen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist reichhaltig und mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt.

Sehr leckeres, authentisches Essen das schnell serviert wird. Netter Service. Optisch fühlt man sich in Asien, allerdings hat die Chill out Klaviermusik für mich nicht zum Ambiente gepasst, daher hier einen Stern Abzug.

Habe mich schon den ganzen Tag abends auf eine Tom kha gai Suppe gefreut und bin deshalb ins Koh Samui gegangen. Nicht weit von der Konstablerwache war es gut zu erreichen.. leider war ein Gerüst vor dem Restaurant wodurch auch das Restaurant nicht gut besucht war.. hätte ja gerne draußen gesessen , was aber durch den Gerüstbau nicht möglich war.. Dafür war die Atmosphäre im Restaurant super.. und habe mir eine tomkagai Suppe und ein leckeres scharfes Hauptgericht bestellt. Das Essen war super kecker und auch die Kellnerin waren super freundlich...

Alles in allem ein ausgesprochen angenehmer Aufenthalt. Tolles Essen, aufmerksame und freundliche Bedienung und keineswegs teuer. Gerne wieder 😊

Summary: We had a great meal, with excellent service! Details: After ordering beers, we moved on to food. I ordered the yellow curry with tofu (which was a substitution for chicken). No problem they said! And it was delicious! Flavorful curry with plenty of potatoes, onions, and some red peppers. Hubby had pad Thai with shrimp. It had a sweeter-than-expected flavor that we really liked! We weren’t rushed, and the food came quickly. Plus all the service team was friendly and spoke English for us.
