Unclean and unhygienic staff fumble around in the mouth and serve without washing hands and that's not the worst if you want to eat there you also have the pigeons in the room

I ordered a Star Burger and wings there. The wings were still raw and ice-cold inside. The burger bun was so hard I could have played Frisbee with it. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time I'd tried it. I don't understand what's going on with you. The quality gets worse and worse every year. Very disappointing.

We were here once, in August, for the classic car meeting at the market. It's crazy that they have to order large umbrellas for such a small place. No wonder the staff seem unmotivated. Customer communication: zero. Hygiene: not good. The tables outside were dirty. It's amazing how that can happen when the staff has almost nothing else to do. We were the only customers, and now I understand why. And the absolute highlight, the biggest joke: the owner's standard response. "We take your comment seriously and will discuss it internally." Really? If you read the reviews, absolutely nothing is discussed... 🤣

Today was truly the worst food we've ever had. The currywurst was crispy, the fries were cold and limp. Something's definitely wrong, isn't it? Try your best to help others, or stay home!

More than disappointing!! The entire meal was ice cold, even though it was barely busy. The staff touched their faces and backs without washing their hands – absolutely unhygienic. They also gossiped about others in a foreign language in front of the guests and barely spoke any German. This was my first and last time – absolutely not recommended!

Incompetence stinks to high heaven. So I'm out of there again.

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't so great. It started with two employees arguing loudly in front of the customers because one of them would have to work later the next shift because a colleague had broken her toe. The other didn't see it that way, and the argument continued... She was told to report to Ms. F..., who had ordered it. It's not very nice to hear such arguments when you just want to eat in peace. All sorts of names were thrown around the room, from Ms. F... to the colleague who broke her toe. I had ordered my burger with an extra slice of cheese and paid for it. My burger came without extra cheese. It can happen, I politely pointed this out to the staff, showed the receipt, and the employee reproachfully told me that no one had told her and it wasn't her fault. Okay, not my problem, please fix it... Then the lady rubbed her nose with her hand and wiped her hands on her jeans. Then, without putting on gloves, she touched the extra cheese I'd ordered with her bare hands (which she'd previously used to touch her nose and jeans), put it on my burger, and placed it in front of me. I politely declined and asked her to make me a new burger, observing hygiene regulations. That didn't work either, as the entire staff apparently took the patties out of the cold storage without wearing gloves and handled them with their bare hands. So I was told that apparently, you couldn't wear gloves in the cold storage and that it was perfectly normal to touch the patties with bare hands. I then asked for the entire order to be canceled, as I'd lost my appetite by then and, thankfully, hadn't finished the rest of the meal yet. I hope they'll refund my money!

Little food for a lot of money. Not tasty. Advice: Don't eat here!

I've been coming to this restaurant for 20 years and unfortunately, I've noticed that the quality has steadily declined over the years. Currywurst and croquettes are the only products that have maintained their standard. Today I ordered a premium burger, the so-called Triple Beef Chili Cheese, and unfortunately, for 7.50, it's a complete disaster. Three slices of completely overcooked meat with a few jalapeños, cheese, and sauce, and a poorly toasted bun were truly not acceptable. Perhaps the staff should be retrained on the equipment to ensure that the cooking times are adhered to. It's a real shame.

For the past four weeks, we've been to Kochlöffel Meppen once a week in the evening (usually around 8 p.m.) – and unfortunately, the experience has been consistently negative. And this isn't just about one or two employees who stood out negatively. We had different employees on each visit. The store was almost always empty at this time of day, yet the team regularly seemed overwhelmed. Examples: Lieferando order: Three employees stood around, perplexed, apparently unsure of what to do. Customers at the checkout were sent away in an unfriendly tone and told to order exclusively at the terminal. In our case, this happened to an elderly man who had apparently just arrived from the hospital by ambulance and wanted a quick bite to eat. He was then allowed to stand there in his condition for 10 minutes and wait until the aforementioned Lieferando order was "organized." Of course, it wasn't done in a friendly tone, but rather with the motto, "Don't you see I'm busy!" As I said, including this gentleman, there were a proud three of us in the store. Another time, at 8:15 p.m., we were told that "there was nothing fresh left" because the team had already started cleaning up – even though we were the only customers there, 45 minutes before closing time. I work in retail myself and would know it would be my last day there if I sent a customer out like that. Friendliness? None. A smile or a friendly remark would have helped, but unfortunately, that was never the case. I read in other reviews that similar problems have been going on for a while. According to the company's responses, this is "discussed within the team" – honestly, I don't get the impression that anything has changed. The prices are unjustified for the quality and service offered. Meppen has plenty of other food spots that are friendlier, more organized, and more customer-focused. I definitely won't be going there again.

I was there today with my colleagues after the gym, just like the two weeks before. The service staff have been overwhelmed with simple orders for the past two weeks. I ordered four burgers (no extras) and got two. That was ridiculous enough, but today we were asked to leave the ordering terminal and choose something from the display because the grill was supposedly already cleaned. I would have understood that at 10 minutes to 9 (the shop closes at 9:00), but it was just after 8:00. Since we didn't know how long the thing had been sitting in the display and we were so kindly asked to leave the terminal, we did that and went somewhere else to eat.

I think it's good that you can still order in person. I was a bit overwhelmed at lunch and it took a while (not too long), very friendly...

Absolutely everything is bad. The taste is completely bland... the staff are joking around with friends and have no desire or joy in their work, making the atmosphere rather oppressive. It's hard to stay here. Absolutely nothing here fits. The entire counter is covered in crumbs and doesn't look hygienic. I'll never be back.

Completely overwhelmed staff. Orders take a long time and are in a random order. In every other branch, it's twice to four times as fast. Staff can't pronounce the order number correctly and are simply completely overwhelmed. And this happens every time.

The young woman with long black hair was very polite and friendly; I would eat there again anytime. The food tastes simply amazing for the price!

The food was really tasty. It's not that difficult to fry up some fries and then throw them in a bag. The service, however, was really bad😂 I walk in and am left standing there for 5 minutes while people are arguing loudly. A member of staff reaches into the shelf where the fries are kept warm and just eats from it without any shame. When I wanted to leave without ordering, they came over to me but when it came to paying and the food being served, no please, no thank you, nothing was said. So if you want to get more than 2-3 stars on Google then you have to at least do a little bit for it. I don't usually write reviews but that was disrespectful. And that was by no means an exception.

No one there is friendly. You ask Michelle for a sandwich instead of a sausage roll, and you get a roll of your eyes and a grumpy face. Maybe they should put more emphasis on training or staff, otherwise you won't want to come back!

If you want a bratwurst or currywurst at around 8:20 p.m., you're told they're out of sausage and the stove's already off. On Whit Saturday. Will there be no sausage left until Tuesday? Or do the staff just want to leave the store promptly at 9 p.m.? It's open until 9 p.m.

Everything was bad. Tiny portions, completely different from the pictures, the sauce was forgotten, it took 15 minutes even though hardly anyone was there and we'd only ordered a few fries, and the result was soggy, rancid, and greasy, so it ended up in the trash. The service fluctuated emotionally between confused and grumpy. Better to throw the money out the window, it's more enjoyable.

I was in the store today, I had 3 cheese burgers and 1 portion of nuggets and a Pepsi. There were 2 customers in the store. I actually had to wait 30 minutes for my food. The two ladies' backs at the counter moved as if in slow motion..... If I hadn't already paid, I would have left again.... It was the last time I was there today. It's a shame...

Ate at Kochlöffel for the first time, NEVER again!!! Table completely dirty, no trace of cleanliness and hygiene... The toilet is only opened upon request (that's ok if it were at least clean then!) The fries were completely over salted, the burgers were worse than at MC, the cola was not carbonated at some point!! Absolutely not recommended...

Despite the fair, the staff was friendly, tables were wiped down several times, and the food was freshly prepared and served quickly despite the large crowds.

Food was okay at best. Churros came lukewarm, but bone hard and dry. An insult to anyone with a sense of taste. The food took forever to arrive and the toilets are locked and only open with a buzzer when asked. And then the toilets are extremely dirty. There's blood and feces on top of the toilet seat, everything dirty and disgusting. In contrast, the McDonalds toilets are wellness oases at 2 a.m. The tables in the restaurant weren't even wiped down in the 30 minutes we were there and were already dirty when we arrived. Employees pull faces and hate their jobs as much as I hate the toilets. It's funny, by the way, that similar complaints came 2 months ago and you said you would take care of it and everything is still the same...

Staff completely overwhelmed...5 of them seem to be trying to process an order....The young lady works with gel nails, bracelets and rings and she was scratching her upper arm and face the whole time. No gloves. Waited 30 minutes for the order and definitely wasn't happy with the prices. If there are 5 to 6 people working on the deep fryers, someone could have cleaned the tables. It can't be that disorganized. That was the last time.

We have now visited Meppen twice within 3 weeks. Hardly any guests every time. However, the tables were all dirty. No paper in the dispenser. No napkins in the dispenser. The preparation always takes about 20 minutes. Despite the fact that we were alone. The staff only responded after being asked. Every time we just stood around and were bored. Not to mention the condition of the toilet facilities. After a long wait, the food was served cold. I used to be a fan of wooden spoons, but they're too expensive for what always annoys me. You can only advise against stopping off in Meppen. It's a shame...

We really enjoy eating at Kochlöffel in Meppen. Haven't been there for a long time. Ordered from the machine today. In the meantime I was already looking for a table. Many are unoccupied. I had to choose a table that wasn't too dirty and politely asked a waitress to give me a cloth so I could clean the sticky, dirty table. The waitress said she would come straight away. A dishcloth was sprayed behind the counter and the waitress ran off and cleaned no less than 10 tables with the cloth. The floor is full of paper and leftover food. If the food here wasn't so delicious we wouldn't come back here. It's been 17 minutes and the food is finally ready.

My son was at Kochlöffel on Sunday and wanted to order chicken crossies. The waitress told him that they didn't have any ready at the moment and needed to get some from McDonald's. My son was very confused because she said it a few times. We ourselves were at Kochlöffel about 14 days ago and my husband ordered half a chicken as a menu. It was so tough and dry that it ended up in the trash. We used to like to go to the wooden spoon...

I wanted to order three burgers around 2:30 p.m. today. The two order terminals were both occupied. The three people behind the counter had time and took my order. When I wanted to pay by card it said "if I pay by card I have to order at the terminal". I would have had to start again. Then I left and won't be coming back.

Hey, what can I say? A parallel Christmas market is not good for the store. Staff overwhelmed and therefore stressed and unfriendly. The trash can wasn't emptied (it overflowed), as was the tray shelf, the tables weren't clean and dirty, as was the floor (napkins, fries, sauce smeared). Overall not a welcoming atmosphere. I went in for the love of my friend and ate there. I would be out backwards again. It took forever for the food to be ready. Then it was carelessly thrown onto the tray on the counter to be picked up. Customers waiting in front who might spit on it while speaking, possibly cough and sneeze. Forgot ketchup. 1 fries when you place your order. An employee was overwhelmed with medium sparkling water. I dug out a standard Rheinfels from under the grill in the 'storage cupboard'. Then the medium water. Nothing in the cup freshly tapped. For almost 4€, I got the whole 6-pack in the shop around the corner. Eating went like this... The seasoning for the fries was tasty, the bratwurst was dry, and there was very little sauce. Even though it's fast food, there's still room for improvement in many areas. It's a shame, you don't leave the store and think, I have to go there again when I'm in town in Meppen.

Waited almost an hour to order and get food. Staff bad, food cold and chicken bones dry and hard. Many ran away again. I haven't experienced anything like this in 20 years. Especially since there was nothing going on.

Ate at Kochlöffel today and was very satisfied. Quick waiting time only 8 minutes. Food was brought to the table. Food tasted good and was warm. According to the receipt, Michelle, the waitress with black hair, was very nice and also asked which fries you would like and which sauce. I can only recommend it 👍

6 employees can't make a Starburger menu in 25 minutes. I got my money back and went somewhere else. Ridiculous

The female Staff should be trained to be customer friendly. You are unable to return a simple hello. The order of the customers is arbitrary...it doesn't work if you don't even take a friendly look at the customers. Since I noticed it there for the second time, I'm writing this negative comment.

My online order should be ready at 4:30 p.m. Because their server was crazy, they didn't want to give out the order and wanted to make a phone call first and left the order to cool for 15 minutes, which was a disgrace! "I'm always good" is what my review sounded like two years ago. But after my two recent visits I have to adjust my review. The staff is terrible. Rude, disinterested and too busy with friends who are also just walking through the kitchen. It looks like a juvenile box. The tables and chairs are dirty, really dirty, not coincidentally from the previous customer. Not to mention the floor. No, they won't see me there for a while. Too bad about this beautiful thing.

First, I waited for over minutes (3:18 p.m. -3:30 p.m.). Then the waitress asks if she can make the other orders first. I said no because I had two children with me who were already complaining. The waitress ignored me. I wanted to have a 1/2 menu which was no 3:30 p.m. and the chicken wasn't ready yet. Sorry, but I don't visit the wooden spoon anymore.

Today we were at Kochlöffel in Meppen. The children wanted to use coupons from current advertising. This was only possible in conjunction with the app. But even with the app, the food could not be purchased at the prices offered. My children should get out of the line and wait. But even after a long wait, nothing happened. The employees behind the counter were extremely unfriendly and completely incompetent. The tables in the restaurant were all dirty, the food was lukewarm and sticky. This visit was a complete disaster. Never again!

Speechless in Meppen! The lady who prepares the food works without gloves (a Hanschu is not a glove) she tackles everything, all the equipment, door frames as she walks past, etc. but the best thing is to pick up lettuce that has fallen from the floor and then put delicious onions on the hamburger. It was around 5:30 p.m. on May 31, 2024 I think the health department should be informed! Just CRAZY and unbelievable! Until today I really liked wooden spoons but now I get herpes just thinking about the store in Meppen!

For the first time in Meppen we ate something with colleagues after a strenuous assembly job. We will never go to this snack bar again and we cannot recommend it to anyone at all. I'll save the details. Attentiveness of the staff, skill in food preparation and the price absolutely underground.

The food is always good, but unfortunately I had another bad experience with takeaway. I had ordered several things to take away and when the order was ready, the employee handed me the bag and then the bag of crisps, loose and open, next to it When I asked why the bag of crisps was loose, there was no answer. Today I ordered a whole chicken. Honestly, it was very bad. The chicken meat was like plastic and burnt. I think it was old. You pay money for something tasty and fresh, not rubbish. To be honest, this is very annoying. At least they respected the customers and gave them something good. Today you lost another customer. I think this store won't last long. There is no respect for customers and no fresh food. This is really a loss calculation. I don't recommend this store.

Impossible... behind the counter a girl in street clothes sits on the floor next to the chicken oven and watches.. then a young man in street clothes came behind the counter from behind.. The young lady who came to serve first let the chicken fall to the floor, then when she went to the cash register and served, she scratched her hair - an impossible behavior. The young man who prepared the burgers wore gloves, but he also cashed in with them...and took money with the same gloves...and then went back to eating the hamburgers... They were discussing who was doing what... because nobody really wanted to... For me it was just a stopover... that was enough... I felt like students running the place... Unfortunately I have to give 1 star, which is 1 too many... Sorry!!

Essen, sowie der Service sind gut. 😊 Die Servicekräfte sind immer lieb, besonders auch kurz vor Schluss. In Bayern gibt es leider keinen Kochlöffel bzw. ich habe keinen gesehen. Aber bin sehr begeistert von dem Team hier. Auch wenn genervte Kunden erscheinen bleiben sie locker und freundlich. 👌🏻

Standard Kochlöffel wie an vielen anderen Orten auch. Sehr enge aber trotzdem moderne Toilette. Das Essen ist wie in jedem dieser Fast Food Restaurants okay und auch Recht teuer. 3.5 Sterne von mir ;)

Typischer Kochlöffel halt. Die meisten Produkte werden nicht auf Vorrat zubereitet sondern erst mit der Bestellung. Portionen sind eher etwas größer wie bei der Konkurrenz.

Man bestellt, die Bedienung war nur am meckern und jammert über ihre Aggressionen und das sie irgendwas kaputt schlagen will und dann fehlen auch noch die Burger bei der Bestellung. Dies war durch die ganzen Kartons nicht ersichtlich und ist leider erst Zuhause aufgefallen. Professionelle Bedingung ist anders.

Halbes Hähnchen schmeckte sehr gut. Die Pommes wären ausbaufähig. Das Personal nett und hilfsbereit.

Essen ist eigentlich immer gut aber eine Mitarbeiterin ist sehr unhöflich und desinteressiert an ihrer Arbeit und spricht nicht mit einem netten Ton mit den Kunden.

Das Essen war wie üblich beim Kochlöffel. Mir schmeckt es. Die Bedienung schien noch neu zu sein. War aber ganz in Ordnung. So dreckig hab ich den Laden noch nicht erlebt. Sämmtlich Tische total klebrig. Mayo, Ketchup, Getränke und Krümel. Ohne Tablett hätte man dort nicht essen können. Bei 4 Mitarbeitern und nur 10 Gästen die z.T. bereits mit Essen am Tisch saßen war der Laden wirklich nicht voll. Auf den Außentischen stand teilweise noch das Essen rum. Vielleicht sollten man dort mal lieber einen Lappen statt des Smartphones in die Hand nehmen.
