KNIPS Klein Flottbek in Hamburg

Sehr gemütliches Bistro, Restaurant und Bar. Bunt gemischte Speisekarte, da ist für jeden Geschmack und Geldbeutel etwas passendes dabei. Der Service ist sehr gut, das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Lage ist super, wirklich sehr verkehrgünstig mit Bus, Bahn, Auto oder dem Rad zu erreichen. Leider gibt es den Sonntagsbrunch nicht mehr, schade!

Alles hat seine Zeit, und auch das Knips hatte seine richtig gute Zeit. Aktuell ist es so: das Service ist unterdurchschnittlich, das Essen auch. Die Preise sind leicht überdurchschnittlich. Das Ambiente wie gewohnt, die Öffnungszeiten sind top. Vielleicht versuche ich es in ein paar Monaten noch mal, aber aktuell kann ich es nicht empfehlen.

Garten ist gefüllt, aber ein bier auszuschenken kostet ja zu viel.

Jetzige Location Betreiber haben scheinbare Schwierigkeiten der Qualität des Essens und dem bisher gewohnten charmanten Charakter des Personals zu folgen. Professionelles eloquentes "Easy going" sieht anders aus. Die Preise für Bier etc , Dinner und Ambiente erscheinen hinsichtlich Service und Qualität überzogen.

Es war warm, mir war am 26.6. das Essen zu fettig (Gemüsecurry). Aber Wasser für €8,- ? In Zukunft ohne mich!

Ich bin begeistert. Meine Spaghetti mit Champignons waren köstlich. Obwohl ich um 18.45h da war, musste ich nicht lange warten. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich. Gemütliches Ambiente. Gerne hätte ich länger Zeit gehabt, da ich mich sehr wohl fühlte. Freue mich aufs nächste Mal

Ich war positiv überrascht, als ich in einer so ruhigen Wohngegend am Loki-Schmidt-Garten / Botanischen Garten der Universität Hamburg dieses Gastrojuwel entdeckt habe. Der Außenbereich lädt zum Verweilen in der Sonne ein, die Speisekarte hält kleine wie große Speisen bereit. Die Preise sind vollkommen normal, die Servicekräfte sind vom Fach, flink und höflich. Ich werde bestimmt nochmal wiederkommen.

Das Essen war 08/15 und dafür preislich überzogen. Dafür sitzt man ganz nett und kann sich gut unterhalten.

Gut mit Auto oder Bahn zu erreichen. Im Sommer steht eine gemütliche Außenterasse zur Verfügung.

Ich kann es nur empfehlen. Sehr freundlicher Service. Ruhige Lage. Köstliches Essen.

mega cool, nachdem wir aus einem anderen Laden drundlos rausgeflogen sind hat uns Sven mit sieben Bier auf’s Haus empfangen - Hammernett, wir hätten auch dafür bazahlt, aber er wollte nicht, hat uns einfach willkommen geheissen, hammergut

Sehr gutes Brunch Lokal. Ausgezeichnetes Frühstücksbüffet, sehr zu empfehlen.

Pasta mit Rinderstreifen, die keine Rinderstreifen hat und in einer Rahmsoße ertrinkt. Wiener Schnitzel, das außer Panade Fleisch im Millimeter-Bereich hat. Und das alles hochpreisig. Gäbe es Schulnoten: eine klare sechs!

Zweimal extra hingefahren und davor gestanden. Zweimal geschlossen, obwohl Google sagt, dass geöffnet ist. Den einen Stern gibt es für die FAULHEIT und den nicht vorhandenen Service, auf der Webseite zu schreiben, dass geschlossen ist!

Im Grunde ein recht schnuckeliges Restaurant, mit einer guten Auswahl an Gerichten & einem heimeligen Ambiente. Verändert wurde im laufe der Jahre recht wenig, heute kann man, außer in dem Garten, noch vor dem Eingang draußen essen oder trinken, am meisten aber rauchen - oder die Flottbeker Jugend bestaunen, die an den Tischen was trinkt. Diese Tische draußen sind unglücklicherweise so aufgestellt, dass Personen von draußen quasi mit an der Tafel sitzen, nur eben die Glasscheibe dazwischen. Das wirkt etwas befremdlich, wenn man einen ruhigen Abend zu zweit möchte, ohne Gruppe, die ständig reinglotzt. Das Essen hat eine gute Stunde gedauert und hätte bei der Wartezeit deutlich besser schmecken müssen. Dazu waren die Portionen auf dem Teller zugestellt mit allerlei Salat oder das Kännchendings für die Sosse und es gab nur eine kleine handvoll Bratkartoffeln zum Gericht. Auf den Bildern ist das gut zu erkennen, vor allem die Relation "Größe Fisch zu Gabel". Das war für den hohlen Zahn. Das Carlsberg war winzig (Schade, hab vergessen, davon auch ein Bild zu machen..) und schmeckte schrecklich abgestanden. Und das für unverschämt teure 4,20€ !!!! Der Pannfisch war für die kleine Portion ebenfalls überteuert und stand mit 26,90€ noch auf der Karte. Absolutes no-go. Beanstandet habe ich nichts, denn es hätte mir keinen Vorteil gebracht, da ewig auf eine Ersatzbestellung zu warten. Der Service war zwar freundlich, aber völlig überfordert. Mich wundert, dass der Laden so voll war, könnte aber an den Familientischen gelegen haben, es war kurz vor Weihnachten. 📌 Fazit: Ein gemütlicher Laden, hier kann man fröhlich was trinken und sich eventuell eine Pizza oder ähnliches zum Schnabulieren bestellen. Für echtes, ehrliches "Essen gehen" aber stimmt die Atmosphäre nicht wirklich und das Essen hat deutlich nachgelassen - sowohl geschmacklich, wie auch bei den Portionen. Die Getränkepreise für die kleine Bierpfütze, die nach Abwaschwasser schmeckte, eine echte Frechheit. Der Service hat die Teller gebracht, war ansonsten jedoch verschwunden. Preis/Leistung eher unteres Niveau, da Preise erhöhen & gleichzeitig Menge und Qualität runtersetzen passt nicht zusammen, daher kann ich das Restaurant/Bar nur eingeschränkt empfehlen.

I really enjoy eating at Knips; the food is usually very good, but today I had the goat cheese salad. The dressing was far too acidic and overdone (too much balsamic vinegar), and it was missing pomegranate seeds. Overall, the salad was rather basic. My friend had the same salad recently, and it was fantastic; hers was dressed with pomegranate seeds. How can the salad taste and be served so differently?

We went there spontaneously after the Christmas Garden event. The service was really friendly and nice. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting.

The steak and fried potatoes were of good quality, but served lukewarm. For almost €30, there was still plenty of room on the plate... The service was friendly but very slow and inattentive.

The ambiance at Knips has remained similar despite the change of tenant. There are pleasant seating areas in front and behind the little house, as well as smaller, more comfortable areas in the front and a larger dining room in the back that offers flexible seating. The menu has been expanded back to a normal size after being quite small at times, and offers mid-priced food and drinks. Special days, such as pizza or pasta days, are no longer available. In terms of quality, there's nothing to complain about; the service is still friendly and helpful, always on the ball, and the food is delicious!

The food on offer is on the high side. The service at the table was absolutely fine. The quality of the food was good. The bill was catastrophic. At home, we realized that the bill was completely incorrect. Dishes were listed multiple times on the bill, and dishes we didn't have were also on the bill. A total of 30% added to the bill. We noticed this at home and complained, with the result: "The cash register system crashed and everything was messed up: We'll refund the overpaid money. No bank transfer. No PayPal." So another 35-minute drive and 23 km each way, totaling an hour. All of this with a terse apology. A drink was offered as compensation. After considerable pressure, we were offered €10.00 or a bottle of house wine. The restaurant is not customer-oriented and therefore not recommended!

I visited Knips and was completely satisfied! The food was truly delicious, the coffee was great, and the service was very friendly. The ambiance is also lovely and cozy—you immediately feel at home. I'd love to come back! ☕🍽️

I almost didn't dare go in because it looks really chic and classy, ​​but having lunch here was definitely the best decision of the day. Of course, it gets very busy in the evenings on nice summer days, but on a drizzly Monday lunchtime I had the restaurant all to myself. It's very nice and cozy, decorated with paintings by an artist who is also featured on the menu. There's a lunch menu and a small vegan selection. Vegetarian options are much easier. And the food is delicious! Many drinks are also available in non-alcoholic versions; I had an aperitif with rose hips. I would especially like to mention the very, very friendly staff. I was greeted with a beaming smile and immediately felt very welcome.

It's well-connected, located directly next to the Klein Flottbek/Botanical Garden S1 S-Bahn stop. The food is good. Unfortunately, it's relatively cramped and sometimes extremely noisy. Reservations in the evening are highly recommended.

Knips is a cozy and conveniently located restaurant. It also has a lovely outdoor area. The wine list is good, and the food selection also has something for everyone. My only criticism would be the price, which I find a bit too high despite the location and the neighborhood. I generally recommend making a reservation, even during the week.

A truly quaint location. Great outdoor lighting and a super cozy interior. Delicious food and a fantastic bar. Highly recommended as a party venue, also thanks to the excellent service and the terrace under tall trees. And for the commute home to the surrounding area without a car – the tram stops right outside. Thanks to the electric drive, it doesn't even disturb a quiet conversation on the adjacent terrace. Great place for anything 🧡

We said that we wanted to share our schnitzel, and they plated it in two separate plates with salad and everything 🥰. Unfortunately though, the prosecco I asked for was so late that we just left. Still, they were very nice.

I had a very delicious lunch here at Knips today. Hake with fried potatoes and a "salad." However, and hence only three stars, the portion was more like an appetizer. Which I can't really understand, since fried potatoes are actually quite affordable for the host. Perhaps they should reconsider.

A small restaurant right next to the Flottbek S-Bahn station. A young, friendly team provides fast and attentive service. Unfortunately, it can get quite noisy when all the tables are occupied.

I absolutely recommend this restaurant. I haven't had such a good burger and fries in a long time. Beautifully designed indoor and outdoor seating, attentive, friendly staff, and clean restrooms. Everything I like! We'll see you again!!!

This is a disaster. The empty dishes are not cleared away. We waited 40 minutes to order and then it turned out that the waitress didn't pass our order on to the kitchen. And that's not all. On the terrace it smells as if a hedgehog had died somewhere nearby. I don't recommend it.

Great location if you take hiking trail 11 from Stellingen to Teufelsbrück. Food was great, as was the beer and wine selection. Gladly again! People super nice there!

After we were served cold tarte flambée, I had already given up The burgers are extremely good. The tarte flambée was also very tasty. The tomato soup is also good. The BEST were the sweet potato fries. I've never eaten something so delicious! The service is average. We were there for a birthday party and there was a celebration right next to us, even though the restaurant was otherwise empty. It was unpleasantly loud and could have been better organized.

Today was my first time at Knips and I can only recommend it. The food was very tasty and filling. There are also vegan dishes. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The toilets are at ground level (good for old people with walkers) and clean. We didn't hear the S-Bahn at all, even though it was right next to the Knips. All in all a nice restaurant.

A very nice restaurant with a nice terrace where you can enjoy the sun. The service is super friendly and there is an attractive lunch menu. I chose Pasta Napoli and also requested strips of beef fillet - this wish was fulfilled without any problem. All in all it tasted good. There was a small extra charge, which is completely understandable, but the regular lunch menu at 12 euros represents very good value for money. I can definitely recommend the location and would be happy to come back - especially for lunch, as the service is pleasantly fast.

We had a great evening at Knips. The restaurant was packed, but the super friendly and committed employees did their best. Sometimes the drinks and the service took a little longer, but that wasn't surprising. We also had to wait a little longer for the main course, but it was worth it. Consistently delicious and high quality dishes. Unfortunately, some dessert options were out towards the end, but that was also communicated charmingly and the alternatives were sufficient. We would come back if we were in the area again.

A nice location. Friendly staff. Very good connection to public transport (1 minute from the S-Bahn station). We celebrated our Christmas party there. It was a bit too tight for 70 people.

The cafe is very cold, the heaters are generally cold after cold drinks, everyone got sick when they returned home!!! the food is very tasteless!!!! the smell from the kitchen throughout the room, it feels like the ventilation is not working in the kitchen!!!! You can drink tea and coffee... I don’t recommend the rest

Today we were in Hamburg for the Festival of Lights in the Botanical Garden. We still had a good hour to spare and were terribly cold. So we went to Knips, where all the tables were occupied or reserved. My partner, his little son and I were very cold and quite desperate. The lovely service made it possible to give us a table for about half an hour. The fries were some of the best I've ever eaten. The atmosphere there is super cozy. I was thrilled. It's a shame we don't live nearby. Otherwise I would eat there more often, chill out and sip a beer. 😊👍 Many thanks to the blonde young waitress at the bar 🤗

Tastefully decorated and friendly service. The food was okay but not particularly good either. Nice selection of dishes but lacking a bit in taste. Unfortunately, we were sitting right next to the toilet door and had to flee from the smell at some point (even though the toilets were impeccably clean). In this respect, I recommend always reserving a table and not relying on luck like we did ;-)

In the immediate vicinity of the Klein Flottbek S-Bahn station there is a restaurant that makes your sense of taste dance. The cuisine is so good that you wonder whether the chefs have secretly locked star chefs in the basement. The wine list? A paradise for connoisseurs - so extensive that you could almost get lost if the service didn't show you the way so charmingly. The large bar area seems impressive at first, perhaps even intimidating, but after your first glass of wine you will feel at home here. If you want to eat something good in Klein Flottbek, you shouldn't miss this restaurant.

The food was good, but the countless British guests, with their sometimes very loud conversations, created a pub atmosphere and prevented conversation at our table, at the end of the room. To get to the toilet, you had to physically force your way through the crowd and were also insulted and doused with beer. I left very early.

Once French and once Swedish. The French tarte flambée is recommended, but I definitely missed that certain something with the Swedish one. The tarte flambée was topped carelessly with a bit of dill and a few strips of salmon. Unless you had a piece with salmon, the tarte flambée tasted like nothing. I would have expected more and made it better. For example, spiced up with pine nuts or other suitable ingredients. Otherwise, the atmosphere is quite nice and overall it was still enough for a nice evening. Would I go there again? Let's see, there's a lot on offer in Hamburg and it didn't really convince me. The Dill sin döns down by the Elbe is e.g. B. excellent, offers fair portions and a better ambience.

Hello, we were there yesterday at 9 p.m Snap, like almost every week. After 10 minutes the waitress came and told us that she had just settled the bill and that there was nothing left, including no drinks!! We asked why? There's not much going on today. It's strange that according to the notice it should be open until midnight.

We were given a seat outside. The service was attentive when ordering, serving and asking questions. Unfortunately, when I was paying, the waitress was no longer in sight, so I went in and saw that the employees were chatting and only spoke to me after another wait at the counter. We had a burger. It was very tasty. However, we found the beer prices to be very high, so we only drank two beers each and then the next one at home. Definitely a recommendation to stop by there. The prices are a bit higher, probably appropriate for the area. The sanitary facilities did not correspond to the other impression of the location. I would have liked more cleanliness. After a lovely afternoon in the botanical garden, we passed by here by chance. We were able to sit outside and had a good meal. The staff were very friendly and attentive. A successful end to the day.

Children are not that important as guests - only when the adults get the food does the chef realize that the food is not there. And when you complain, you immediately shout. Service thought is different

Everything was ok. I have to get rid of one thing. When I arrived with my friends, there was a used napkin in the middle of the passage to the other tables. This means that the waitress has to step past or over this (quite large and very visible) napkin every time. But it wasn't an obstacle for the blonde lady - she maneuvered past for two hours until a lady from the next table got up and wanted to go to the toilet and picked up this napkin and put it on a tosch. Incomprehensible.

This German restaurant is located right next to Klein Flottbek station. This was helpful as there were almost no restaurants nearby for lunch. I enjoyed the schnitzel and beer. The store staff are friendly, bright and pleasant.

Bar and restaurant KNIPS in Klein Flottbek at Jürgensallee 51, in the immediate vicinity of the Klein Flottbek S-Bahn station. Very comfortably furnished, very good snack as ordered for us after a visit to the cemetery. There was a delicious tomato soup followed by mixed sausage, roast beef, cheese and salmon bites. At the end of our small memorial service there was plum and apple crumble cake (see pictures). Unfortunately I haven't been able to try the other offerings yet, but I'd love to come back. The service team was very friendly and extremely attentive.

It's very nice to sit in the Knips. The service is friendly. Unfortunately the waffle wasn't homemade and the cake wasn't that tasty. The main courses at the next table looked good though.

The food came out of the deep fryer

In the Elbe suburbs there are a few cozy places where you can eat well to very well, but also just enjoy meeting up to drink a wine or a nice beer. It is currently one of the places people like to go in the Elbe suburbs. The service is extremely friendly and helpful. By the way, dogs are always welcome here!
