CENTRAL in Hamburg

Wir waren in den letzten Jahren mehrmals im Central und es war für uns ein kleiner Geheimtipp bei unseren Besuchen in der Hansestadt. Bei unserem letzten Trip war es deshalb selbstverständlich, in diesem kleinen, aber feinen Restaurant einen Tisch zu buchen. Der Wirt empfing uns schon mit (s)einem unklar formulierten Problem, dass bei den Reservierungen wohl etwas schief gelaufen sei. Man wies uns jedoch einen Platz an, rückte die Tischlein etwas zurecht, bat uns nach einer Weile aber aus unerfindlichem Grund, doch an den Nachbartisch zu wechseln. Das Essen war ok, insbesondere der gegrillte Ziegenkäse war köstlich. Den Service fanden wir unterirdisch, der Wein wurde erst nach Aufforderung gebracht, an ein Nachschenken war nicht zu denken und ein Dessert bot man gar nicht erst an. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass wir unsichtbar geworden waren und sind schließlich aufgebrochen, ohne weiteren Wein, ohne Dessert und ohne Kaffee. Schade eigentlich. Man muss sagen, dass wir bei bei diesem Hamburgbesuch mal wieder ganz tolle Erfahrungen in dieser freundlichen Stadt machen durften-das Central gehörte unerwarteterweise nicht dazu.

Super central, cozy and beautiful hotel. Always fresh oranges to make your own freshly squeezed orange juice. Every morning there is fresh bread or toast with jam and nut nougat cream so that you can conjure up a delicious little breakfast in your room (toaster, kettle and coffee machine are in the room). So you can start the day slightly strengthened. The contact was friendly and courteous. We will be happy to come back. Greetings from Catholic Cologne 😄

Wir waren 11 Tage auf einer Reise Hamburg, mit dem Fahrrad Husum, Föhr und Amrum. Das Essen im Restaurant Central und die Bedienung war bei weitem das Beste. Alles frisch zubereitet, außergewöhnliche Speisekarte, vielseitig und interessant. Wir kommen wieder, wenn wir das nächste Mal in Hamburg sind. Danke!

Wir haben im Zentral gewohnt, und das Restaurant und sein Ambiente sind uns schon deswegen aufgefallen. Perfekter und freundlicher Service, die Qualität der Speisen ausgezeichnet, und den Preis fanden wir absolut angemessen.

Restaurant Central (#50) is simply good: fresh, seasonal cuisine, good wines and friendly service. Everything tasted very tasty and coordinated, very nicely combined. We have that on our watch list for next time.

We had a fantastic stay. The house is old with a lot of charme and the rooms are really nice and the owner very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is close to the main station, but still it’s calm. The best: the rooms have a kettle, coffee machine and juice press and you get a little croissant breakfast in the morning. Can’t be any better.

We had booked our stay in the Hotel bel Etage and also pre booked a meal for our last evening in Hamburg before returning home - this was the most enjoyable meal we have ever had in Hamburg - the owner and team were very attentive - the meal was exceptional - the combination of excellent food, wine and the ambient atmosphere were a perfect combination - we will definately be returning to Central on our next visit to Hamburg.

Was soll man sagen. Wir haben es geliebt. Klein und fein, aufmerksamer Service, ordentliches Essen, was sich teils so nicht überall auf der Karte findet. Ein kleiner Minuspunkt. Wenn man schon eine kleine Karte hat, dann sollte auch alles das sein.
