Klosterstübchen - Gasthof Schäfer in Oberhausen

Hello, I had a reservation for December 6th, 2023, from 8:00 PM until whenever. It's unacceptable that the event ended at 11:00 PM. I don't believe that "until whenever" means it's open-ended. Therefore, I will not be attending this event again and will not recommend it to others.

We visited the restaurant on the evening of June 29, 2013, with four people. The service was very attentive – however, there were only two other tables occupied. Regarding the food: The fish soup (Soupe de Poisson) was well-balanced and light. The ladies thoroughly enjoyed the bruschetta. The homemade crab salad, however, suffered from being served far too cold. Of the main courses, only the perfectly crispy fried pike-perch fillet received praise. The mixed green salad with turkey breast was served with two pieces of hard-boiled chicken egg instead of the promised quail eggs, without any explanation. We weren't asked about the dressing; we were simply served balsamic vinegar, which didn't bother us at the time, as we would have ordered balsamic vinegar anyway. The pasta with salmon and truffle, however, seems to have come from a long-forgotten "fat above all else" cuisine. The greasy mess served here has little in common with Mediterranean lightness. In short, more needs to be done to live up to the self-chosen slogan "simply better food". If I checked "good" here, it means: but it can be significantly better if they want to attract regular customers and not just overnight guests.

We ordered food and it was finally delivered after 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was cold. The driver apologized for having a detour; I live only about 800 meters away.

There were two of us. Small but excellent menu. Quality and taste were very good.
