Eckstein in Oberhausen

We ate there on Christmas Day with a group of people because we always enjoy coming here. BUT I have to say, what we had on our plates that day was nothing like usual! Some of the grilled meats were okay, but the schnitzels tasted awful! Honestly? I suspect, as another reviewer also mentioned at Christmas, that it was frozen! The front of the restaurant was decorated for Christmas, but the back room was flooded with light like a football stadium! Horribly bright, and NOTHING suggested Christmas. We felt like we were sitting in a factory canteen. Honestly, we could have saved ourselves the evening and the money.

Stay away from here for parties; no staff and the food is a disaster.

A small restaurant with good pizzas. The ambiance is very interesting, but it still has a lot of potential. It's obvious that they don't have enough storage space; you can see Metro glass cartons, carbonated drinks bottles, etc. in many corners. We found that a real shame. Luckily, we had enough cash with us, as card payments aren't accepted at the moment.

I invited guests to my 70th birthday party. We inquired a few weeks ago for 20 people and received confirmation that it was fine. On the day, we were warmly welcomed and shown to a lovely room. Our server introduced herself as the person who would be serving us that evening. What can I say? It was a wonderful evening with delicious food and excellent service. Thank you so much! I would gladly use your services again. Highly recommended.

The table wobbles. The benches are worn. Happy hour from 6 pm to midnight. Cocktails. They're good, and they come in large glasses. Dogs are welcome. Daily specials. Menu available. Open until 3 am, Friday and Saturday. It's nice and warm in there, even in this cold weather.
