Unfortunately, the many negative reviews are justified and hardly need any additions. Another tip, check your bill carefully before you pay. In our case, the waiter (orally) inserted a number turner when paying (I'm not assuming this was intentional, but I'm not ruling it out either), which led to an even larger tip. Checked against the written invoice that I requested after paying.

It was very nice. One point deducted because we were served the wrong food. But as compensation we got a small dessert for free. It was still very good food.

Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend a visit to this restaurant! We have been regular guests at the Rheingau Music Festival for many years. The ambience and warm atmosphere of the monastery tavern as well as the friendliness of the staff always rounded off the concert enjoyment. Unfortunately, during several stays we discovered that this was all a thing of the past since the change in restaurant management this summer. With the exception of a few, the friendly, warm and committed employees have been replaced by new personnel who obviously have to carry out their work within a working atmosphere that is noticeably designed for efficiency. It can happen, as happened to us, that while you are in the toilet, your chair is taken away from you by the restaurant manager himself. When my husband intervened and told him that it was his wife's chair, he simply replied that he shouldn't act like that! When we were cashed in without being asked on our next visit and the restaurant manager himself asked us to leave because our previous reservation had ended after 90 minutes (we had ordered several courses and the dishes only arrived after a long time), we decided As long as the business continues to operate under this management, we will refrain from further visits.

Very nice location in the monastery garden, good service despite a large parallel event.

We came as a group, the food wasn't worth the price. Fortunately, Rhenish wine meat (pork) is not on the menu.

Bad service and prices too high for this quality. We waited over an hour for our food. Not once was we asked if we wanted something to drink or anything, even though it wasn't very crowded. Schnitzel 31 euros with very weak potato salad. For the veal cheeks with pumpkin risotta, the rice and pumpkin were still far too hard. Meat was good.

Not worth a visit. The service is underground. We were there around 2 p.m. Lots of places available and lots of staff. We were directed to sunbathing spots with the note: it was a music event... That's why the rear shaded area was kept clear (starts at 8 p.m.!!!) A cake order was rejected with the same comment... My assessment: our place was the shorter route for the staff, the order for drinks was taken twice, the specific order for the food (without vegetables) was completely ignored. The dishes were cleared away without asking whether we wanted to finish eating. The guest is disturbing here!!!! But there is another way, in the bistro area - friendly self-service - the staff is friendly and very accommodating. Thanks to this team, they brightened our day with a smile when we said goodbye.

Our assessment is divided into two parts, as the location has shown two faces. On the first evening there was good, even very good food. The young man in service was friendly and competent. On the second evening they were not willing to serve us inside. Although we clearly justified our request, we were repeatedly informed that service would only be served outside. Since the outdoor area was very busy because of a concert, there was no longer any need to be hospitable. Too bad... But of course there are good things like that: so we left the location and discovered a great place in Eltville. I also wrote a review for this restaurant..... 😀

The food was nothing special at all, more like cafeteria food, there is very little choice. The price you pay for food here is way too high! The service is extremely unfriendly, and the beautiful location can't save it. In general it was far too loud and you could hardly have a conversation.

The service is good. The menu is very clear and only in German. The food is okay, but neither special nor in any way appropriate for a restaurant. For 5 people it was 180 euros. The Klosterschänke suffers a little from the fact that visitors flock before concerts, but then they no longer have time to eat what they have ordered in peace. That's why the waiter always warns correctly. And that's why we "only" ordered the cold snack plate. Although it was for one person, it was almost too much for the two of us. And totally delicious. A fine Rheingau white wine with it: heart, what more could you want!

We previously ate under the plane trees on the occasion of a concert in the basilica. Small menu because it was very full, but extremely friendly staff and good small dishes. Recommended.

Beautiful location but the service I wasn't impressed with. A wasp went in our drink and they didn't offer to replace it. When they handed our meal, there were no cutlery, so I had to get it myself. The schnitzel was dry. They should offer gravy with it and the chips. Disappointed for the price 😞

The waiter with the east european accent refused to talk about the wine specialties by saying:"Kucken Sie selbst in die Karte..." and tried to tell me that "Kaffee mit Milch" does not exist:"Das ist doch dann ein cappuchino!" Look, it's probably the first time he ever served in a much better establishment, but what really ruined the experience for me was knowing that I use to have an amazing time here. What my family and I got was an underwhelming, low quality, terrible presentation of food, that makes a dark cabin in the woods at night feel more welcoming.

Can't understand the bad reviews, our service and food were impeccable.

It used to be better. Salad was partly brown. Meat sausage totally watered down. Potato salad isn't what it used to be either. The currywurst was also made with chopped tomatoes. And prices are simply too high for such small portions and quality.

Very unfriendly staff eat well the chef would have to go to cooking school. Overall it was the first and last time.

The service was very questionable. We were questioned why we as a group wanted to order water again when it was 32 degrees. Some of us had ordered cauliflower steak. What we got were flower florets tossed in barbecue sauce and had nothing to do with steak shape or anything like that. Let alone with lime and chilli. It would also be great to declare this on the menu that curry hummus is served with it. Unfortunately, the name totally missed it. The rosemary potatoes apparently only saw the rosemary out the window. Others of us had pasta with pesto. It's a shame that the pesto was used so sparingly that the dish was completely dry. Spring onions had no place there either. It would also have been nice if Parmesan cheese had also been served. The dessert of strawberry salad with sour apple ice cream was unfortunately not beautifully presented, but the ice cream was very tasty, hence the 1 point. Service definitely needs to be trained. It can't be that you're just being reached over your plate or being bumped into. You can politely ask if you can clear it away. Sorry but for such an ambience and actually fine cuisine absolutely lacking today.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food was more of a canteen level and the service wasn't very friendly either... which unfortunately can't compensate for the actual atmosphere in the garden. Price/performance is not consistent here.

We had Duroc cutlet with wild broccoli. Very tasty, meat tender but with a fatty edge, which is due to Duroc and is not a problem. Broccoli fried crispy, but everything was quite expensive at €32.50. Wine extremely expensive and nothing special.

It wasn't our first time here and, unlike our last visit, we were pleasantly surprised. The monastery beer was at the right temperature and the food was good. Prices have risen everywhere and here too. The 11th generation is really no longer inexpensive for our taste, but it worked in the Klosterschänke Eberbach. We had roast beef and a hand cheese tartare. Both dishes are recommended. The tastiest hand cheese variant for a long time. Service was good and very nice.

The worst service I have ever seen. At the neighboring table, the guests had to clear their own table and our food was simply forgotten. One person runs the store alone... on a sunny Sunday... unbelievable!

Very nice atmosphere, most of the dishes looked delicious, but the ham with my asparagus was a disaster. The raw ham was OK, but the cooked ham was never from a local butcher. Maybe it ran out over the long weekend and was replaced with the cheapest industrial ham that I don't even know from discount stores. Perfectly round slices of obviously molded meat with cartilage, a disgrace for the price and the demands.

The restaurant was relatively full and correspondingly loud. The service staff tried hard, the quality of the stew was normal, the prices were slightly exorbitant.

Frozen goods and unfortunately too little service. Will definitely never come here again. It's a shame - you could have made a lot more out of the place given the prices.

We took a break here during our hike. Unfortunately all the seats were reserved and empty for a long time! We still managed to get a table on the edge. We were probably just unlucky. It was well attended and very, very loud. Uncomfortable, unfortunately. Good food but way too expensive

We were here for lunch on Monday. The restaurant was very busy and it was very nice that we could sit outside. The service is very nice and attentive. The menu is clear, which is a very positive criterion for us. We had the hand cheese salad and the roast beef with green sauce as starters and then the trout and the Schlutzkrapfen as main courses. Everything was very nicely prepared and the portions were completely sufficient. The Pinot Blanc was extremely tasty. A successful Monday.

The service was terrible. We had to wait for half an hour to order our food and about the same time to get the bill. And that’s although there were a lot of staff members on site. The fish was bland and the price not justified. I was very disappointed, especially since I always enjoyed coming here, but it seems like the owner of the place has changed and since then all has started to go downhill.

It was a wonderful end to the day after the alpaca hike. We were just able to correct that the waiter had picked up the wrong wine. Sparkling wine as an aperitif, schnitzel, cutlet and veal fillet were our main courses. Wild garlic soup, hand cheese tartare and roast beef carpaccio were the start of the menu. We'd love to come back, even if the 80km journey is a challenge.

The atmosphere is basically out of this world: a former Cistercian monastery complex, imposing, balanced and wonderfully preserved. A place of silence and enjoyment at the same time. In addition to an atmospheric guest house, there is a museum, wine shop and monastery tavern. The lavishly topped snack platter was accompanied by a 2021 Kloster Eberbach Pinot Noir; the service was warm and competent.

The service is friendly and competent, but there was only one waitress at the tables. The food was delicious and beautifully served. The “river vegetables” is highly recommended.

Absolutely perfect. Traditional and regional cuisine at the highest level. Price-performance ratio matches the high quality of ingredients and preparation. Staff friendly and accommodating. We were extremely satisfied and full, will definitely come back.

We ordered Valentine's menu for two people, 1x with main course fish, 1x with roast beef. We had an excellent meal at a very good price and the wine and sparkling wine were not poured exactly to the mark. Which isn't so important now, but you notice it benevolently. The only negative points: Poorly lit footpath with small potholes (I sprained my ankle and you have to pay a parking fee for guests in the restaurant) ⁶ We were served very well and attentively and we would be happy to come back

When we entered the restaurant we were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner and assigned a seat. After a short time we were given the menus. The timing between the first opening of the card and the waitress's return visit to ask about drinks was extremely commendable. The food was brought to the table a little later and was convincing in every respect. The portion size was a bit too small for me, but still ok. We have reserved in advance on the homepage. Only after calling did we receive a final confirmation for a time window of 1.5 hours. The Klosterschänke is rustically furnished as an inn in the old monastery. Nice, not aloof. The map is small but nice. However, it is still confusing and very confusing. The pages are also very worn. The food was very tasty, the kitchen knows its craft. There was also a chef in our group and he was satisfied. Only the dessert (lukewarm chocolate cake) had room for improvement as it was no longer lukewarm. The service was mediocre at best. Biggest mishap: Our daughter was offered Parmesan with her pasta, she loves Parmesan! Only the cheese didn't come until the first people had already finished eating. She waited bravely. Even a note to service didn't help. We ordered espresso for dessert. Dessert came much later than coffee. I would have been annoyed in an inn, but given the prices quoted here (we were €45 per person without wine), our verdict is clear: we won't be coming back. It's a shame, the kitchen is good. And the 1.5 hours we were allowed weren't enough thanks to the service.

You have to look for the terrace a bit when coming from the parking lot. We ate on the terrace, the food and drinks were delicious and the price was right. It was lunchtime rush hour, so we had to wait a little longer and the wait staff was a bit stressed, but that's something you can look at. Recommended,

Aus ist es mit der einstigen traditionellen, jahrzehntelang meist ausgebuchten, gemütlich und sehr repräsentativ eingerichteten, äußerst sehenswerten und beliebten Klosterschänke. Ja, uns ist klar, dass ein neues Restaurant in den riesigen Fußstapfen versinken muss. Aber musste man das gesamte Interieur ausräumen samt Kamin, damit die Klosterschänke zur Bahnhofsschänke mutiert? Damit man auf kleinen Stühlchen an kleinen Tischen hockt? Was nahezu lächerlich wirkt in dieser großen Räumlichkeit! Wenn man für mehr als 80 Euro zu dritt hungrig aus dem ungemütlichen, leer wirkenden, kaum dekorierten Lokal geht, in dem man sich am kleinen Tisch neben einer der riesigen Säulen regelrecht verloren fühlte, dann weiß man, dass man dafür nicht mehr anzureisen braucht. Wir haben die Klosterschänke seit Jahrzehnten geliebt und sind einfach nur traurig.

Ein angenehmes Ambiente erwartet hier die Gäste. Die Speisen und Weine sind eher hochpreisig, das Personal etwas unzugänglich. Geschmeckt hat es allen in unserer Gruppe sehr gut. Bei den kleinen Portionen hatten einige von uns noch Platz für Nachtisch.

Zu viert hatten wir einen Mittagstisch in der Klosterschänke gebucht. An diesem Tag fand im Kloster selbst der Kunstmarkt ´Fine Art` statt, entsprechend gut war das Restaurant besucht. Trotz der großen Zahl der Gäste waren alle Abläufe gut organisiert, es gab kein zeitintensives Warten, der Service war sehr freundlich und kundenorientiert und das Essen hat uns allen gut geschmeckt. Unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen und die Klosterschänke ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

Das Essen ist hervorragend. Nicht dieses Allerlei, das man überall geboten bekommt, sondern wirklich spannende Gerichte und sehr lecker. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und trotz des vielen Betriebes noch zum Plaudern aufgelegt und sehr zuvorkommend.

Nettes Ambiente, entspanntes Essen auch mit Kindern im Innenbereich, sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Service. Perfekt für Familientreffen.

Im Prinzip immer eine Bank. Qualitativ gute lokale Küche. Leider keine 5 Sterne, da gab es ein paar Abzüge. Im Detail: für 6 Personen 2 Flaschen Wasser bestellt, es kamen nur 3 Gläser dazu? Nach dem Starter Bier (lecker Zwickel) wurden die leeren Bierkrüge lange nicht abgeräumt, obwohl wir schon längst beim Wein waren. Weine aus der Domäne, alle fehlerfrei! Zu den Gerichten: Kürbissuppe geschmacklich gut, hätte dichter und stoffiger sein können. Weniger Brühe, mehr Kürbis und kleinere Portion würde uns besser gefallen. Hauptgerichte: Rinderbäckchen top! Forelle auf dem Punkt, warum gab es keinen Teller für die Gräten? Himmel und Erde. Die Blutwurst war unter Rotwein Zwiebeln begraben und war dann nicht mehr eigenständig zu erschmecken. Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Kartoffelsalat war gut ohne Makel. Maishähnchen war top! Bitte an den Kleinigkeiten arbeiten, dann kommen wir gerne wieder und die Bewertung wird wieder top. Räumlichkeiten sehr schön, Toiletten top! Insgesamt Dankeschön

Etwas eingeschränkte Auswahl an Gerichten. Aber alles von guter Qualität und lecker.

Urig, lecker 😋 und ungezwungen...

Wir sind zum Ort gewandert und haben und unterwegs auf das Essen gefreut. Uns wurde ein Tisch für Halbe Stunde angeboten ohne Möglichkeit was zum Essen zu bestellen. Nur Getränke. Dann hat kein Keller unsere Bestellung aufgenommen. Nach 15 Millionen Wartezeit sind wir weggegangen. Der Ort ist sehr schön aber an einem Feiertag war der Personal anscheint überfordert und es gibt keine andere Möglichkeit hier in der Nähe was zu bekommen. Wir sind enttäuscht.

Ich war sehr begeistert von dem schönen Ambiente. Essen war spitze, Kuchen und eine warme Speisen für Kinder, Schnitzel und Paprika sahen auch sehr lecker aus. Aber das Personal war der Wahnsinn... gemecker das sie arbeiten müssen Bestellungen nicht angenommen, dann fehlerhaft. Ewig auf den Rest gewartet. Bezahlung musste Mann ewig betteln das man sein Geld los wird. Und dann wird man angemault weil man das anspricht.

Leider hat es über 1 Stunde gedauert. Man wird nicht wirklich beachtet. Fühlte sich so an als kennt man das aus Sicht des Service. Und Ja, es war viel los, aber das kann man besser angehen. Aber wer kann schon einschreiten wenn der Restaurantleitung selbst kassiert und bedient. ... Also wer keine Kinder hat uns viel Zeit mitbringt, dann kann man hier, wenn einem die Gespräche nicht ausgehen, ganz gut essen. Schwach war dennoch der Umgang mit der Wartezeit. Von "erkenntlich" zeigen war weit und breit keine Spur.

Wunderschöner Außenbereich, aber ein Service, den man sich unfreundlicher nicht vorstellen kann. Wir haben über eine Stunde auf zwei kalte Vorspeisen gewartet und erhielten bei Nachfrage äußerst unbefriedigende Reaktionen. Sicher kann mit einer Bestellung einmal etwas schiefgehen, aber dann sollte ein Entschuldigung angemessen sein.

Wir waren gestern im Pfortenhaus essen und begeistert. Tolles, frisches, sehr leckeres Essen, super freundliches Personal und eine Küche, die auf individuelle Wünsche eingeht. Weil so schönes Wetter war, saßen wir draußen mit Blick auf das Kloster. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Schöne Lage. Der Außenbereich ist mit Sonnenschirmen überdacht, sodass man auch an heißen Tagen gut draußen sitzen kann. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, aber die gefüllte Paprika war sehr lecker. Die Preise für die offenen Weine fanden wir etwas überzogen, aber ansonsten war es ein angenehmer Abend.

Eigentlich sehr schönes,Ambiente. Wir saßen im Garten. Das Essen war bei weitem nicht mehr so gut wie früher. Die Vesperplatte zum Beispiel war sehr wild übereinander gestapelt, nicht sehr ansprechend und dem Preis nicht gerecht. Der Wein ist ebenfalls sehr teuer geworden. Wie die Qualität des Essens im Haus aussieht kann ich hier nicht beurteilen. Ich glaube, ich will es auch gar nicht mehr wissen. Schade , dass nach Corona alles auf dem Rücken der Gäste ausgetragen wird.

Hervorragender, schlagfertiger Service, so mögen wir es. Essen und Getränke, gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Wir kommen wieder.

Spontaner Besuch Ende August nach einen längeren Fahrrad-Tour auf dem Rheingauer Höhenweg. War ein toller Abschluss des Ausflugs: - Sehr schöne Lokation und Ambiente - Service aufmerksam und flink - Trinken: Klosterbier und Schorlen süffig und genau das Richtige nach der Tour - Wurstplatte und Nachtisch wirklich lecker und vom Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis sehr gut

Sehr schöner Ort um Ruhe zu finden. Sehr beeindruckend die Geschichte des Klosters. Die Anlage ist sehr schön und sehr gepflegt.

Die Klosterschänke ist sicher nicht preiswert, aber der Service ist sehr nett und effizient, es gibt eine tolle Auswahl saisonaler Gerichte und selbst gebrautes und besonders leckeres Bier. Wir hatten die Rinderbäckchen und waren mit der zarten und schmackhaften Zubereitung sehr zufrieden! Auch die Essenmenge stimmte. Auf der Terrasse war es wie immer wunderbar. Immer gerne wieder!

Qualitativ gutes Essen, aber leider eine recht kleine Karte. Die Kinderkarte ist fast ausführlicher als die Erwachsenenkarte

Das Kloster Eberbach, wo sich die Klosterschenke befindet und das Pfortenhaus sind sehr empfehlenswert. Gutes Essen, ausgefallene Sachen, sehr guter Service und nette Bedienungen, sehr höfliche, aufmerksame Chefs und die Ambiente. Ein Traum eine Geschichte.

Übersichtliche Portion und stolzer Preis: Fast 18 € für ein paar Gnocchi mit wenigen Pfifferlingen und zäher und lauwarmer Soße und ein Tellerchen Mischsalat ist schon üppig! und macht nicht einmal satt. Meiner Tischnachbarin mit dem Sommersalat zum gleichen Preis ging's genauso. Das war nix! Einen Stern gibt's für netten Service und schönes Ambiente.

Schöne Klosteranlage mit gutem Essen einen Besuchwert

Wir haben unsere Zeit in der Klosterschänke Eberbach sehr genossen. Die Brotzeit mit dem köstlichen Klosterbrot war ein gelungener Start. Die Vesperplatte überzeugte mit einer ansprechenden Präsentation und einer vielfältigen Auswahl. Lediglich die Getränkepreise waren etwas hoch. Trotzdem empfehlen wir die Klosterschänke gerne weiter, besonders aufgrund des freundlichen Kellners.

Wir waren am 16.08. gegen 17 Uhr dort mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern eingekehrt um dort gut zu Speisen und zu trinken. Wir haben uns einen Platz im Freien gesucht und uns dort niedergelassen, da die Kinder auf dem naheliegenden Spielplatz spielen wollten. Als nach ca. 15 Minuten noch immer keine Bedienung für Getränkewünsche und Menükarten an den Tisch gekommen ist, haben wir das erste mal vorsichtig gefragt ob wir auch die Karten haben könnten. Der eine Kollege der an einen Kellnertisch stand und vertieft mit seinem Handy war, sagte das er die Kollegin schicken würde. Nach ca. weiteren 5 Minuten kam dann die Karte und die Getränke wurden aufgenommen. Als einer von uns nach ca 3-4 Minuten auf WC gegangen ist. Welches nicht gerade sauber war und gerochen hat, hat er beim rausgehen schon auf einen runden Tablet die Getränke stehen sehen. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten bin ich rein und wollte mir das Tablett selber holen, was verneint wurde von einem Mitarbeiter der hinter der Theke stand. Kurz danach kam dann die Kollegin und stellte uns die Getränke kommentarlos hin. Es lag leider nicht daran das dieses Restaurant völlig überfüllt war, NEIN, es waren draussen lediglich 5 Tische besetzt, wovon 2 bereits komplett Bedient waren. Es lag daran das die 3 Kollegen ( 2 Männer eine Frau in schwarzen Hosen) draussen, sich sehr viel sich zu erzählen hatten und es wahrscheinlich nicht merkten wie schnell die Zeit vergeht. Wir hatten uns dann fast alle entschlossen dort nicht zu Speisen, da aber ein Kind starken Hunger hatte, hatten wir die Kinderportion Frikadellen mit Kartoffelpürre und Karotten bestellt, meine Frau ein Salat, damit das Kind nicht alleine Essen muss. Das Essen ging dann relativ schnell. Leider waren die Frikadellen nicht sehr schmackhaft für Kalbsfrikadellen, Sorry aber es hätten auch Geflügelfrikadellen aus der Packung sein können. Kartoffelpürre war gut, der Salat meiner Frau war auch gut und hat eine gewisse Note durch das raffiniert abgestimmte Dressing erhalten, hier gab es kein Kritikpunkt. Für die Kinderportion 11,50€ für eine sehr kleine Kinderportion zu entrichten, grenzt schon an Frechheit, auch abgesehen von allen Umständen die es zur Zeit für die Gastronomie gibt, wir gehen sehr oft in der Woche essen und können das sehr gut beurteilen. Da dieser Miserable Service durch die Lustlosen Angestellten Hausgemacht ist, haben 3 Erwachsene auf Hauptspeisen / Nachtisch und weitere Getränkewünsche verzichtet. Wenn man hier mindestens 30-40€ pro Person rechnet, weiss ich nicht ob sich mehr Qualität beim Service sich besser bezahlt macht. Die 2 Essen wurden wieder Kommentarlos abgeräumt, hier gehört es sich normalerweise zu fragen ob es Geschmeckt hat und ob man sich noch was zur Nachspeise oder zum trinken wünscht.... Naja... wichtiger war es das man sich untereinander wieder Unterhalten konnte. Es gab hier noch ein Kellner im dunlelblauen Anzug, der in dieser 3er Konstellation aber nicht mitgewirkt hat und wahrscheinlich andere Aufgaben hatte. Also Fazit: sehr enttäuschender Besuch, Hausgemacht durch das Service Personal. Service hat 1 Stern erhalten, was aber ein Stern zuviel ist.

Die Speisekarte möchte dort sein wo die Küche nicht ist… Ein Huhn, welches nur mit Mais gefüttert wurde, hatte es vermutlich nicht ganz leicht in seinem Leben. Soweit meine Meinung und meiner Überzeugung das dieses Huhn nur die beste Art der Verarbeitung verdient hat. Leider wurde ich in der Klosterschänke in Eberbach eines Besseren belehrt. Nicht nur dass die Küche weit über eine Stunde benötigte, um das Gericht an den Tisch zu bekommen… es war ein Stapel von vertrocknetem… On Top lag eine komplett vertrocknete, in der Mitte massakrierte Hühnerbrust, welche bereits so verdorrt und vertrocknet war das die Fasern frei legte… Die unterhalb liegender Rösti aus der TK waren weit über dem Punkt des knusprigen… Zahnersatzträgern rate ich zur Vorsicht… Es gab 2 Rösti wobei der erste halb verkohlt und der zweite halbroh unter dem ersten lag. Die Eierschwammerl waren gummiartig. Die Suppe als erster Gang kam wohl aus einer gekörnten Masse. Zu intensiv im Geschmack und der Farbe. Ablenken sollten davon wohl die Masse an kleingehackten Frühlingszwiebeln. Nicht täuschen konnte das fein gewürfelte Gemüse aus der TK welches auf praktisch allen Gerichten, soweit ich es auf meinem Tisch sehen konnte, vorhanden war. (Rinderbacken, Forelle und Hühnerbrust) Der doppelte Espresso kam in einer Tasse von einer großen Schokolade. Einem großen Porzellan mit 6 mm schwachem Filterkaffee. Leider konnte ich keine Reklamation veranlassen da unsere Kellnerin nach dem Servieren wie schon davor verschollen war. Für den komplett ungewürzten Gurkensalat musste ich selbst auf die Suche nach Salz und Pfeffer gehen. Zum Trost bot man mir nach einer weiteren Stunde einen alkoholfreien Sekt an, welcher in kleinster weise an einen Sekt erinnerte. Wohlgemerkt, hier handelt es sich um Kloster Eberbach, der hessischen Staatsweinkellerei… Das sich der Ober am Nebentisch über den alkoholfreien Sekt samt meiner Kritik über das verdorrte Hühnchen lustig machte möchte ich nur am Rande erwähnt haben. Das war mein zweiter Besuch in Kloster Eberbach, Jahre dazwischen und keinen Anschein das es besser werden könnte. Bezüglich Ambiente: Vor einigen Jahren noch handelte es sich noch im Gastgarten um massive halbe Baumstämme zum Sitzen... Tische waren entsprechend... 2023 handelt es sich um dünne blecherne Baumarktware das ich selbst in den unterirdischen Biergärten Bayerns nicht finden konnte.

Die Klosterschänke im Kloster Eltville, Ambiente unschlagbar, Bedienung schnell und freundlich, genügende Tische, Preise der Lage angepasst, unter schirmen oder Platanen oder im besonderem Indoor Bereich. Wir kommen wieder, 👍

The menu was short but perfectly sufficient. The food was well made and enjoyable. The setting was peaceful, warm and inspiring. The dog was also allowed to come along, which meant a lot to us. It's a perfect place to dine and remain to have a calm, evening conversation, taking in the atmosphere. Preferably when there are fewer guests (stone walls & ceiling can be a bit noisy).

Lieu sympathique, cuisine bien faite, prix raisonnables.
