Good Kreuzberg beer and good food

Hi, of course we live in times of skilled labor shortages, but waiting almost an hour for food is a bit much when you have tickets to the Bad Hersfeld Festival. It would have been cool if we had been informed before ordering that it might take a while for the food to arrive. Then we wouldn't have had to eat a marathon to get to the show on time.

Nice atmosphere - sat outside - service was quite slow, we waited 45 minutes for the food. The burger was okay, the monk's bone was edible, but quite salty due to the smoking. We didn't explicitly request a dip (instead of garlic and herb dip, which was also quite salty, we received it. Okay, I could have explicitly announced it because of the selection, but: forgot. All in all: we were disappointed! Perhaps they should increase the staff during the festival.

We had a truly wonderful dinner with excellent service. What wasn't so great was the grumbling from the next table. Four elderly gentlemen who weren't happy with their seats even got the boss riled up. Honestly, if we were him, we would have thrown out the two elderly ladies (dressed up like supermodels) and the cheeky elderly gentlemen (who thought the red carpet should be rolled out for them). Nobody needs guests like that! We'll definitely be back next year when the festival is on. Hang in there and don't let your work get ruined!

Very very tasty and great ambience

We went there again for dinner on Sunday. All the food was served quickly and professionally. Everyone enjoyed it. Thumbs up—we'd love to come back. PS: We had monastery bones, skewered pork, salmon, and rump steak.

The value for money is good. It was busy at first, even though we had a reservation. The nice gentleman apologized, and we even got two bowls of water for our furry friend. The food tasted good, not from a pre-packaged bag. We'd be happy to come back.

Delicious food and good service. We had an XXL schnitzel and a schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Both were delicious. Prices are perfectly reasonable, and the service was very attentive. The food came quickly. The outdoor seating is great. We'll be back.

Pizza tastes very good. Also very nice (polite staff). I also ate the 500g rump steak there a few weeks ago and it tasted fantastic. The monastery tavern is highly recommended.

The staff was prompt and efficient. The food was OK. Not fine dining, more like fast-food. What bothered me was that the delicious beer in the clay mug (0.5l) was only half full, but you couldn't tell because of the head of foam. Also, they basically only serve unhealthy food for kids: burgers, fries, schnitzel.

Spontaneously arrived on Saturday evening. It was very busy, but there was still a place. The staff was friendly, but we had to wait almost an hour for the starter. The food was fine, but not very special. It is fine for the price.

We spontaneously dropped in early evening with our child in the beer garden. We got a nice spot, and the staff were super friendly, especially to our toddler. The food was delicious, but the side dishes were a bit limited, so we ordered a baguette instead.

We went to the monastery tavern for the first time today. When the weather was nice we were able to sit outside in the beer garden. The atmosphere was really nice, we felt comfortable. The service was simply great. The waiter was attentive and funny. 7 out of 5 stars for that 😜 You've been looking for something like this in Hersfeld for a long time 👍🏻 The food was super tasty. My rump steak was perfect and tasty. We will definitely come back.

Quite a large shop, which means increased noise. A whole page with XXL dishes, various 30 cm burgers and 600 gram schnitzels, even if you're completely hungry, you'll definitely get enough here. But there are also normal sizes for the dishes. Large selection, everyone should find something here. It's worth it.

Delicious food! Very nice service. And the schnitzel xxl is really worth it! Never had such a large and tasty schnitzel on my plate before.

We sat there as a group and were pretty cold. When I asked to turn the heat up higher, nothing happened. My food was poorly seasoned and really bland. The waitress rarely missed us, so you could only order a drink if you got up and asked at the counter.

I really liked the Klosterschenke restaurant. It has a very rustic interior that goes well with the name and the house. The service was quick and really welcoming. The food was actually great. After a week on the road and eating in hotels and restaurants, I just felt like something “normal”. Pepper cream schnitzel. I was expecting a brown sauce but got a light one. This may be the case in Hesse. I hadn't noticed that salad wasn't part of the dish, but I didn't pay attention to it either. Then just without it. The food was really tasty, but I have to complain that the meat was a bit hard. But that didn't detract from the taste. I would go there again in a heartbeat. They also have delicious burgers there. In the XXL version with 600g pattis

We had booked a table. When we arrived, the staff felt overwhelmed and not interested. We had to wait and then put in the “glass box”. The service came by sporadically and the supply of drinks was poor. The schnitzel was okay, the portion of fries could have been a little larger. When ordering, it would have been nice to note that no salad was included. I personally didn't like it there overall.

Good food, large enough portions. Recommended are the monastery bones and, in my opinion, the turkey steaks. Maybe the owner could think about changing the menu 🤷. (This is just a suggestion).

The Klosterschänke in Bad Hersfeld has been a great place to go for young and old for years when they want home-style cooking. My favorite is the rump steak with fries in pepper sauce...available in 3 sizes. But the XXL menus are also interesting and certainly a challenge for some. 500g of the finest beef steak perfectly prepared, a 600g schnitzel or the huge burger the size of a pizza...they all have two things in common, they are damn tasty & at the end you literally roll out of the restaurant.😉 The atmosphere is good, the staff is very friendly and the prices are quite reasonable for what is on offer. A beer garden and also a heated winter garden round off the whole thing. Stress-free parking in the directly adjacent parking garage is advisable. Thanks & see you next time!

The service was extremely friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the quality of the food varied greatly. In particular, my daughter's schnitzel was not good (bad piece of meat, greasy breading). The salmon fillet with vegetables, on the other hand, was excellent.

The food was very tasty, I haven't had such good rump steak in a long time. The employees are all very friendly and don't go down to the cellar to laugh. The only thing I didn't like was the ambience; because it was a large room, it was very loud. But I went there because of the food and it was great 👍🏽

Food is standard. A little something healthy is missing from the plate. And more obvious love for cooking at that. A “sorry” instead of blaming the guest if the order was taken incorrectly makes the service more pleasant 😉

On a hot summer day it is particularly pleasant under the trees and parasols. The menu is very extensive, currently seasonal with chanterelles - very tasty. We'll definitely be back... oh yeah... and if you like the delicious Kreuzberg beer from the Rhön... it's served...

Great restaurant, very good food and professional waiters. All of this for a fair price. Extra requests were received very friendly and implemented without any problems. Short description. 6 people (2 children 4 adults) were kindly accompanied to the table without a reservation. The menus came quickly and the drinks were picked up straight away, and a short moment later they were on the table. We waited a while for the food, which isn't a bad thing at all. Good things take time :) The waiters were so friendly and professional, something I haven't experienced in a long time. All the employees we met in the restaurant smiled and were nice. Every dish and sauce was perfect. We paid around €108 including drinks, and for the good food and everything that went with it, it was crazy. We drove 30km on the recommendation and will do so more often. Please keep it up, big congratulations to everyone

Not outstanding but okay. The schnitzel was quite dry, the potato wedges were sometimes too hard and not very seasoned. The burger patty looked like frozen goods. The service staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and stood at our table twice without a plan or aim until they realized that it was the wrong table.

We ate there for the first time after my mother-in-law always raved about it. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anything out of it. The service is very inattentive and unfortunately didn't notice until the end that the drinks were empty. The decoration was very dusty and the ceiling pictures were unfortunately already coming off, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the food wasn't really that special and, in my opinion, very unpleasantly prepared. Very sad because a shop like this definitely has the potential to do more with itself.

Were there today without a reservation. Were warmly welcomed and received. Very nice service. Good prices and portions. The side salad was super tasty. My husband had a paprika cream schnitzel. Also super tasty with a slightly spicy sauce. Nice ambience.

The XL burger was not convincing: average snack level at best, only convenience ingredients as far as the eye can see. A little more class instead of mass please! For almost 16 euros, real cheese is a cheap imitation instead of a mini slice that is too small, and a clever and suitable (!) burger bun isn't asking too much either. I can make the Aldi ready-made bun that is too small at home. Unfortunately, onions were completely missing - and there are better alternatives to a handful of shredded iceberg lettuce on a good burger! Should be standard for this price. Instead of ketchup/mayonnaise, it would have been nice to have a more creative and tasty sauce. The fries were good - but unfortunately a very dry side dish without the dip. A small bowl of mayo, house dip or something similar isn't too much to ask for, I think - as is generally a slightly more modern way of presenting it on the plate. Overall not convincing - I won't be coming back for that. Edit: Revision, deleted... a rogue who thinks evil ;)

The service is very friendly and nice. We showed up unannounced with a group of 10 people and despite the house being full, two groups of tables were arranged. The map is small, but diverse and everyone should find something on it. Portion, quality and taste are good bourgeois 👍

School grade 2+ Dish=pepper schnitzel with double croquettes) Everything was great, but the normal schnitzel size was a bit too small (colleague had the XXL portion (600g), which was also very decent. Otherwise everything is fine. Ambiance good. Service quick and responds to requests.

We weren't that happy with the restaurant, as soon as we walked in the toilets stank from bottom to top. You clearly don't get enough for the price. Are we used to anything else? But the service was friendly.

The 4 of us ate the 4.3 kg goose menu for €119 on Christmas Day and it was excellent. The whole thing was on point and deliciously filled. The side dishes were also great. We were actually only disappointed by the ambience. It really was 0.0 Christmassy. But really just uncomfortable and bare.

5 of us had dinner. Get a table without registering. Very nice staff. We were very positively surprised by the delicious food. We'll definitely be back.

Wir waren heute relativ spontan das erste Mal hier essen. Aufgrund der negativen Rezensionen und vor allem der Reaktion des Inhabers darauf, habe ich das Restaurant bisher nicht besucht. Wir haben unkompliziert einen Tisch bekommen und wurden auch schnell bedient. Das Essen kam recht schnell und hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt. Preislich war es auch in Ordnung. Zu teuer empfand ich den kleinen Salat für 5,40€. Den bekommt man in anderen Hersfelder Restaurants als Beilagensalat. Geschmacklich war er in Ordnung. Dem Ambiente konnten wir nicht wirklich etwas abgewinnen. Wir kennen das Restaurant noch vom Vorbesitzer und da sah es schon genauso aus. Wirklich einladend ist es nicht. Es könnte Mal einen neuen Anstrich gebrauchen. Der Service war flott und relativ freundlich. Allerdings empfanden wir den Kellner in seinem Verhalten (Art der Ansprache der Gäste, lautes Anraunzen der anderen Mitarbeiter) als nicht akzeptabel. Wie gesagt, alles in allem wurden wir freundlich begrüßt und verabschiedet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist akzeptabel.

Hatten Weihnachtsfeier. Ich fand es okay, andere hätten mehr weihnachtliche Deko erwartet. Aber das Personal ist mega cool drauf, das Essen war super. Ich bedanke mich für den schönen Abend.

Traditionelles Restaurant. Super motiviertes Servicepersonal, aufmerksam. Große Auswahl an Speisen zu fairen Preisen. Sehr schmackhaft.

Bewertung fällt mir schwer, weil wir eine große Gruppe waren und unsere Bedienung mit uns viel Arbeit hatte. Das ein oder andere Getränk kam auch auf Nachfrage nicht. Das Essen hingegen kam nahezu zeitgleich, was bei 30 Personen schon eine Leistung ist. Mein eigenes Essen würde ich so nicht mehr bestellen aber das meiner Sitznachbarn war sehr gut, weshalb wir wiederkommen und in Zukunft das bestellen, was sie hatten. Daumen hoch für die Knoblauchsuppe und die Klosterknochen. Daumen nicht so hoch für Gerichte mit Kaisergemüse und Sauce Hollandaise. Das Gemüse schwimmt darin. Tip: Separat dazu servieren. Meine Schweinemedaillons waren etwas zäh. Die von meinem Freund waren zart. Meine Bewertung verheiratet eine Mischung aus 3 und 5 Sternen.

Super leckeres Essen zu tollen Preisen in schöner Atmosphäre

Waren heute mit 16 Personen im Rahmen unserer Lullus Tradition hier essen. Sehr engagiertes und freundliches Personal, konnte schnell auf unsere Wünsche reagieren. Im Verhältnis zur Größe der Gruppe angemessene Wartezeit. Alles korrekt serviert. Portionen sind OK. Mein 500g XXL Steak dürfte vor dem Braten garantiert dieses Gewicht gehabt haben. Das Steak war auf den Punkt medium. Pommes gut, Kräuterbutter würzig, sonst kein Schnickschnack auf dem Teller. Preis war angesichts der Lullus Saison als „sehr günstig“ zu bezeichnen. Saison bedingt gab es eine extra Karte. Das Ambiente ist urig gemütlich, kein Tisch wackelt, die Stühle sind bequem, die Räume bieten Platz für mindestens 100 Gäste, eher mehr. Bei schönem Wetter steht auch die Terrasse zur Verfügung. Die Sanitäranlagen waren ebenfalls tipptopp. Fazit: Solide Qualität zum günstigsten Preis, auch für größere Gruppen. Nachtrag: Waren wieder zu unserem inzwischen traditionellen Lullus Essen hier. Die Pommes waren diesmal etwas sehr hart geraten. Das Fleisch und die Soßen waren aber wieder echt lecker. Wir werden hier sicher noch öfters auftauchen.

Sehr schöner Ort zum essen. Das Personal ist nett und die Einrichtung ist wirklich schön. Das Essen ist ganz gut für den Preis. Man wartet ein wenig auf sein Essen, aber es ist auch meist viel Kundschaft vor Ort. Ist einen Besuch wert.

Fantastisk god mad 😋 Vi var der, uden bordreservation, da de åbnede og kunne lige få en plads. Vi havde set anmeldelser på Google og tænkte at det måtte vi prøve. Vi blev bestemt ikke skuffet. Vi valgte schnitzel med paprikaflødesauce men fik uden problemer skiftet pomfritter ud med brasede kartofler. Det smagte himmelsk 😋😇 Virkelig lækkert. En god størrelse schnitzel i en god tykkelse, som samtidig var saftig og mør. Dertil noget af deres hjemmelavede øl, som smager fantastisk. Valgte bare en 0,5 liter, det blier en større udgave næste gang. Meget venligt personale som forstår at holde sig i baggrunden men alligevel altid er tilstede. Meget rimelige priser 🤩 Vi kommer helt sikkert igen!!

Schöne Lage und schön eingerichtet. Nettes Personal aber nachgesehen ob man noch etwas möchte wird nicht. Essen leider Totalausfall. Alles mit Fleisch geht klar. Vorspeisen und vegetarische sachen EXTREM salzig.

Nettes Personal und lecker Essen

Preis Leistung ist hier unschlagbar. Die Gerichte sind sehr groß und ob Schnitzel oder eher Burger, hier geht alles über die Tische und die Gäste sind deutlich hörbar begeistert. Ich hatte ein Schnitzel mit Zwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln und es war sehr lecker. Hier bekommt man also was für sein Geld und das Ambiente ist passend rustikal. Der Service ist freundlich und sehr bemüht. Alles in Allem zu empfehlen.

Wir waren gestern dort mit 4 Erwachsenen und 1 Kind. Sehr schönes Ambiente, swohl der helle Wintergarten aber noch schöner hat mir der hintere Bereich gefallen mit großem Weinregal, Bemalung an der Decke - einfach ein tolles Highlight für Hersfeld. Bedienung war sehr schnell und sehr höflich. Essen, v.a. das Rumsteak war sehr lecker, und auch der Miniburger für den 8-jährigen ausreichend und sehr lecker. Rundum - sehr zu empfehlen!

Wir sind aufgrund der guten Bewertungen in dieses Restaurant eingekehrt. Die Gerichte sind Geschmackssache - für uns okay. Die Kellner waren nicht sehr aufmerksam und haben nicht gesehen, dass unsere Gläser leer waren. Wir mussten mehrmals auf uns aufmerksam machen obwohl es nicht besonders voll war. Wir wurden auch nicht gefragt ob wir nach dem Essen einen Kaffee möchten oder vielleicht ein Dessert. Schade! Wir werden nicht wieder kommen.

Seasonal mushrooms with sauce are out of this world. If you're in town, this is a must have! Portions are good size, potato fries were also tasty, steak was also good. Allergens are listed on the menu. Most of the menu is translated into English but I recommend that you take seasonal specialties (untranslated on the first menu page). Our waiter (don't know the name, he is bald with a beard) was also amazing: quick, super friendly and helpful, advised good options, was very efficient yet not bothering, alles super! Thank you! It is also dog friendly: there were water bowls outside and we saw a furry friend inside.

Wir waren mit mehreren Personen da,das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Essen war lecker und Preis/Leistung war völlig ok. Schade das wir nicht so recht Getränke nachordern konnten. Der Kellner schaute zwar öfter in die Runde aber bemerkte nicht das die Getränke leer waren.
