Cool and modern decor, seating not inviting Service, well, the waiter was visibly annoyed and only did the bare minimum Tasty food but outrageous prices

I was treated very unkindly during my visit. As soon as I arrived I wanted to use the toilet, which was obviously a problem. I then ordered an espresso at the counter. When I wanted to pay with a 50 euro note, the shift manager explained that she couldn't change. She then simply took back my half-drunk espresso and forbade me to drink it any more. When I wanted to complain about this behavior, I was simply informed that she was the shift manager and had to act like this. I work in the catering industry myself and have never experienced such rude and unprofessional treatment. Unfortunately only one star for my visit today.

We are writing the year 2024 in September, as always on the go and came across the Klara restaurant while looking for something to eat in Hanau. Right on the market square you can watch what people are doing outside, and I was thirsty due to the high temperatures. The beer garden was 1/3 full, with two waitresses who ignored me for almost 15 minutes, and guests who came later already had drinks. I was able to assert myself, and with a friendly Bavarian…..Fraaaage….I know what the Bschtelln was, the whole journey took place.. There was schnitzel with fries and a beer, all in all a fair price-performance ratio. Even when reordering…I had to be patient. I don't think that's the rule, and I'd like to say thank you to the whole team

Unfortunately our food was cold despite an exchange. Or lukewarm. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great.

Very friendly, delicious food and the cappucino with oat milk was very good.

Always a great place to go in Hanau, which always has something new and seasonal on the menu. We appreciate the consistent quality (even if my husband's schnitzel went down the last time). But your sandwiches, for example, are always top notch: fresh, delicious and seasonal. The chestnut soup had a great wintery aroma. Service is always friendly and helpful, even when it's busy. Only your drink prices are already at the limit, why and how is clear, but please try to keep them as humane as possible, because we like to come to you!

Klara is always a contact point for everyone who likes to sit together, have a drink and just talk. But you can also eat quite well here. From sandwiches to steaks, everything is there! Of course also salads and vegetarian dishes. Klara is dancing! Always a great event! This time DJ Mani took us to the 70s. THE “Disco Age”. Our disco time together with all its memories. “Rewinding” was a lot of fun. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!

Went for breakfast. Food was good with a few exceptions (the so-called guacamole, made from peas, unfortunately tastes like feet that have fallen asleep). But why was there only strong-tasting cheese? Long wait until breakfast comes. Staff friendly but overwhelmed. Sitting on the benches is rather uncomfortable. The elevator is practical for Kiwa, walkers and co. Price-performance OK.

Yesterday I was at Klara with my business partner. I recommended the delicious cheesecake with coffee. Unfortunately the coffee came first and after 20 minutes there was still no cheesecake in sight, despite being spoken to several times by the wait staff. Since the exact same thing happened to me 10 days ago with my wife, I have to write about it publicly. If someone orders coffee with cake, the guest wants both to be served together! Therefore: Service only 2 out of 5 stars. There is a lot of training needed!!! Update from November 30, 2024: My wife and I went to Klara last night with a couple we were friends with. Since everything on the ground floor was already occupied, we went to the first floor and sat down at a free table. After 20 minutes without service, I went to the counter and asked if she could come to our table. She came and said that everything here on the first floor was reserved for a company party this evening. We should leave the 1st floor. Apparently there was a sign on the ground floor that pointed this out. We went downstairs and even then didn't see a sign. Service would have been. if the waitress had taken care of a table on the ground floor. Very poor service that seems to continue to decline. We left Klara and were disappointed.

Yesterday we had a nice coffee at Klara and ate a little something. It was very tasty and the service was very friendly. Everything. Very nice.

Unfortunately, our culinary trip around the world was a flop. Was in this restaurant yesterday for a culinary trip around the world on the theme of "Argentina", with starter, main course and dessert. Unfortunately, the Argentinian steaks and the side dishes were not recommended and were simply outrageous for the €90 that the evening cost. The steaks were completely cooked through and were sent back by the entire table and most of the other tables. The new plates and steaks were still completely raw inside, so you simply couldn't eat them. Both attempts were ordered medium grilled. The promised grilled vegetables were neither grilled nor seasoned and completely cold. Probably came from the convection oven. An attempt was then made to calm the guests' mood with more alcohol. Apparently the kitchen was neither staffed nor equipped with the equipment that a steak evening like this requires. Conclusion: Wasted money!

The food was great as usual. Unfortunately, the service staff were absolutely inattentive. We had to specifically ask for menus, cutlery and drinks. The service staff spent most of their time behind the counter eating, talking and drinking. Other guests also had to wait and draw attention to themselves etc.

First visit and unfortunately very disappointing. There is probably a lack of competent staff, which unfortunately affects the overall concept of this bistro/café. Coffee took forever and was then cold, food at the neighboring table was left as unsatisfactory. Too bad.

The food was delicious, unfortunately when we ordered from the menu we were told four times that it was already out or that it wasn't available today. The waitress was very nice, but hardly ever looked over, so you had to wait 30 minutes before you could order or pay. Unfortunately it was a bit uncomfortable because the door was open.

Large breakfast platter for two, good and fresh selection. Unfortunately the music is a bit loud.

If you order a cappuccino here you unfortunately get a milk café, which means too much milk and not enough foam, which is a shame.

Everything is good so far, but a fried chicken is apparently just a schnitzel cut into strips. Otherwise great.

Very nice restaurant with friendly service and delicious food. Absolute recommendation is the Kaiserschmarrn! Unfortunately everything is relatively expensive, hence the star deduction.

It's often a bit noisy...but the staff is super nice. The breakfast for two is delicious and filling.

Good food, nice service, central location on the market. Unfortunately it was terribly loud, the acoustics were bad and the staff smashed metal plates onto the floor and smashed dishes into the box. Too bad!

We treated ourselves to breakfast, but unfortunately we weren't happy with the price-performance ratio. We had the small sweet breakfast and an omelet plus 2 coffees, it cost us 32 euros, just too expensive.

Update August 16, 2024 We haven't been there for a long time, the friendliness of the staff has improved a lot, and the food is still average in my opinion. With such a small menu, all dishes should be available. May 12, 2018, around 3:30 p.m We sat inside, across from the shelf overlooking the counter! The listlessness of the service was already noticeable at the "welcome"! After we sat down, we were greeted with the words: "I have to move the tables first!" welcomed! Our order was received without any enthusiasm! Even upon request there was no longer any children's cutlery! The food was delicious and ready surprisingly quickly! After waiting for a long time and hoping in vain to order a few more drinks, we looked up the phone number on the website and called to pay, but only the phone came on, with the message that everyone had no time at the moment and therefore no one can answer the phone even though at least some of the staff were gathered at the counter! So I went to the counter to pay, without a tip! It's a shame, it was never like that when I visited other people!

Barriere frei, Hunde freundlich, sonnengeschützt. Ich war allein frühstücken dort. Das Trinken wurde auf den Tisch gestellt, aber nicht eingeschenkt. Ich konnte wählen zwischem hellen und dunkelm Brot. Ich fand die Frühstücksplatte ehrlich gesagt etwas lieblos gestaltet. Es gab Dunkels Brot und ein Brötchen. Dazu Salami,Schinken, Humus, Wurst, Paprika und Trauben sowie Marmelade, Nutella und Butter. Für mich definitiv zu viel- noch dazu hätte ich die Masse gar nicht auf die zwei Brote bekommen. Leider waren viel zu viele Wespen da, weshalb ich mich nach drinnen umgesetzt habe. Dort war es zwar nicht voll, aber viel zu laut. Ich habe für ein Getränk und das Frühstück 20€ bezahlt. Service war ok, etwas streng.

It is really an extremely delicious and beautiful restaurant. The location is great, the service is very nice and the food is simply delicious. I particularly recommend the bread basket and the seasonal salad with goat cheese. The only drawback is that on busy days you sometimes have to wait quite a long time for food. But you also get quality. All in all, I can only recommend the restaurant.

Unfortunately, Klara has slacked off. Recently, individual menus have been removed from both breakfast and the normal main courses. There is e.g. B. no more fish. The menu in the restaurant did not match the online menu when we visited. Some menus were missing here too. Prices are too expensive for the quality offered. In our opinion, schnitzels are stretched frozen goods that are prepared in the deep fryer. I don't need to go to a restaurant for that. In any case, this does not correspond to the image (regional/high-quality products) conveyed by the operator. There are no more side salads either. Toilets were old and dirty even though there wasn't much going on in the restaurant. But as usual, the condition was very nice and quick. Draft beer is delicious!

Klaras offers a wonderful atmosphere, excellent food and friendly service. A must for anyone who appreciates good food and a relaxed environment.

Enjoy your meal. Lots of drinks and a nice breakfast. Outdoor seating is available. Very clean and the service is quick and friendly. However, prices have increased quite a bit. But still worth it. Wednesday and Saturday are market days. First have a leisurely breakfast and then go to the market.

Service and ambience were good. However, the salad had almost no dressing at all and the carrots looked like they were from the day before. For a salad and a small main course with drinks 40€, unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right.

Schnitzel al la metro crusted and barely edible. Mashed potatoes are sufficient. Little chanterelles. Too expensive for that. Fresh whole food not sufficient. Good location on the market square.

I visited the Klara Küchen & Bar restaurant again on July 9, 2024. I haven't eaten anything there yet, but what I've seen on the tables looks delicious and inviting. I can see the cake first hand and am always full of praise. I've always found the service to be courteous and friendly, and the same applies behind the counter. The restaurant is simply and comfortably furnished. The outdoor area on the Hanau market square is friendly. The toilets are on the 1st floor and are properly maintained. Everything is clear with Klara 🙂.

It took 25 minutes to even be noticed. AND I won't accept the excuse that "there was definitely a lot going on." There was hardly anything going on. Mint honey ginger tea was okay. Then ordered a Fritz-Kola. Waited another 20 minutes, but the Fritz-Kola we ordered never arrived at the table. When I wanted to pay, they wanted to charge me for the Fritz-Kola because it had literally been "on the counter for 20 minutes, but they just didn't get around to bringing it to the table." . Tell me, is it still okay!!!? Is that my problem!!!? I was then verbally attacked with the words, "I don't think that's right of you at all!" because I asked to deduct the Coke from the bill. If you are not able to bring a bottle of Coke in 20 minutes, you could not expect me to pay for this SERVICE NOT PROVIDED. Then the change was slapped on the table. Take a look at the camera recording from yesterday (July 8, 2024) from 2:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. I'm the black head that you can't actually ignore.

A nice meal on the Place d’Hanau! The service is very fast ! The only downside is that you have to arrive before 8 p.m., otherwise the meals will be reheated.

Greek farmer's salad from the lunch menu was served with very soft cucumbers and tomatoes. After complaining, there was more fresh pepper on the salad and the mushy tomatoes were still there.

The first and last time I asked what they had that wasn't fried and carb, the only thing was chicken but that was ready so I paid for the water I got, a .75 bottle straight from their source, it Wasn't even bottled, paid €6.90!!!! I don't even pay 6.90 for Evian in Monte Carlo. To “never again”.

I had dinner at Klara with international customers. We were given a very nice table upstairs. The very friendly service gave us excellent advice in fluent English and helped explain the dishes. We had various starters and main courses and everything was freshly prepared, of very good quality and tasted very good even to my guests who had no experience with German food. We never had to wait long and the waitress was always available. Thank you!

We ate at Klara's for the first time yesterday. Went there on the recommendation of friends and were not disappointed. The service was super friendly and the food was really delicious (if I hadn't been so full, I would have liked to try the recommended dessert). TERRIBLE!! It takes a while to get served, drinks arrived cold. Staff was unfriendly. When the food was finally brought we had mold in one of the glasses. Disappointing for such a long wait!

We were at Klara again today. It's a very nice location with a slightly different menu. The bread, which is freshly baked, is really amazing! We were again served very friendly and courteous and had a lovely lunch.

The restaurant is highly recommended and special because it differs from others in its selection of food and drinks. Seasonal and regional dishes enhance the manageable menu. The homemade bread and drinks are very tasty. A very special praise for the service staff. Very friendly and lovely.

We were Klara’s guests today. The reservation worked wonderfully. Arriving on time, we were asked to sit at table 61 on the 1st floor. We were warmly welcomed on the 1st floor and shown to table 61, which... oops....was already occupied. The friendly waitress asked her colleague why someone had sat her at the reserved table and was told... "There are plenty of happy seats downstairs." Our friendly waitress came and told us, "The colleague downstairs was wrong, your seat is downstairs".... Well... we didn't let our good mood be spoiled, despite having just been lied to, and went downstairs to the free one Seat selection, there were only seven people sitting downstairs with us. Over the three hours we sat there for a long time without drinks and were only able to order drinks "on demand" from the waitress. By the way, the lady next to us left after coffee, even though she actually wanted to eat something. She was also very politely ignored by the waitress. Seven guests...too many for one waitress?? We could see and hear how the waitress and the barista had a lot of time for personal conversations."had a very restless night, had to think about you the whole time" etc. were exchanged between the two. Or we could watch conversations on the terrace with another colleague, even though we wanted to order something inside... No time for guests... Well...then we probably weren't welcome and would rather pay. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, I of course had to tell her my dissatisfaction that we had been sitting there for a long time without drinks and that we would now rather go somewhere else. The answer from the waitress was: "I've been there three times!" No... twice... in three hours and not voluntarily but on request. Dear service... Service is something else and criticism from guests should be taken seriously. The answer was off, just like the service today. Since the drinks are not included in the flat rate, Klara could have taken in significantly more today. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service was so bad that I will no longer be Klara's guest.

Great restaurant, nice service and various dishes.

The ambience is very nice. Bake your own bread. Pleasant service. The breakfast menu is very limited according to the menu. Would have liked to have had a normal simple breakfast. It then became vegetarian. It was delicious, except for the cheese, and very plentiful. But I won't go there again.

Were there for breakfast, the gourmet breakfast is a dream, homemade jam and homemade Nutella, salmon sausage and cheese, everything your heart desires.

Was there for dinner as a tourist. My rating: - Service employee: 5 stars, nice, friendly and accommodating. - Food: 4 stars: The bread was fresh and the fries were hot, but the side dishes with the bread basket were extremely tasteless. - Ambiance 3 stars: Great location in itself, but I personally found the volume inside to be unpleasantly loud. In addition, something seemed to fall down on the bar every 2 minutes.

Great selection of food and breakfast and very friendly service

The food was cold, dry and not fresh. The salad only had dressing in the middle and was dry on the outside. The vegetable lasañe was not very seasoned and also dried out on top. The asparagus was cold, hard and the sauce with it tasted like nothing but water. And that for 50 euros / 2 portions, diarrhea was free when we returned home. Thank you very much, I won't get lost here again!

I was always happy with the food and the ambience. The toilets have always been in an unsanitary condition. But on Saturday there was a new high point. The toilets were full of blood and covered in feces. After being spoken to, people just shrugged their shoulders and cleaned reluctantly. It was the blood of a drug addict who probably shot herself there (statement from employee). I'm never going there again. Dangerous to health and actually a case for the health department.

We were there with the family for Sunday brunch at 9am. Because there are vegan options on the "normal" breakfast menu, but we didn't know whether this also applies to brunch, we asked again in advance: yes, there are also vegan alternatives. So we were there yesterday and were rather disappointed with exactly these alternatives. There were 2 types of vegan cheese. That's it. No hummus or paprika spread (or any other “spread alternative”). The margarine was also out. Upon request: unfortunately not today, sorry. So I ate dry rolls with cheese. That was a real shame. The selection of fruit and vegetables was okay. And the offering for all-eaters is more than sufficient and very good. All in all, it's a shame for me, as a brunch for the price is probably not worth it as a vegan.

Mediocre wine for an average of 8 - 9 euros per glass, water from the tap with sparkling water for around 6 euros. Central location but not recommended in terms of quality. Definitely too expensive for what is offered

Had reserved a table for brunch. Occasion, a birthday. Some guests were there earlier and no one knew about our reserved table. We would have liked to have stayed after 11 a.m. and left money, but we were asked to leave shortly before 11 because the table was given to someone else from then on. I've never experienced it either. It would have been great to have information when making a reservation that you are only allowed to stay during brunch. Especially when you leave €180 for 2 hours and 4 guests. Definitely the last brunch at Klara's.

We went there last night for a few drinks and dessert. The drinks were OK, but wouldn't be a reason for me to come back now. For dessert we had the Kaiserschmarrn. It was ok, but nothing special. It had an extreme vanilla aftertaste and didn't taste homemade. It wasn't caramelized either. The vanilla sauce that was served with it was also delicious.

Always happy to come back. Unfortunately the kitchen is extremely slow. Therefore only 2 stars for the service. The service was top. 5 Stars.

Went there for brunch on a Sunday. Ambience and service first class. Unfortunately, the buffet was a bit meager compared to other brunch buffets. The bread tastes exceptionally good.

The restaurant is very nice and the service is top notch. The food is also delicious and I think the advertised regionality is great! The only point deducted is the vegan breakfast: it's great that there is one - above all else!! But it costs over €13 and all that is included, apart from raw vegetables and a bit of fruit, is a huge roll and a slice of bread, 2 portions of Becel margarine, 2 slices of vegan cheese, a dollop of hummus and some tomato spread and 50g soy yoghurt with 2 tablespoons of granola and the already mentioned fruit. Everything is really tasty in itself, but sorry: that's really not enough for me for €13! The bread/roll base was very plentiful but the toppings were too little. I'm missing vegan cold cuts, vegan camembert or cream cheese, vegan smoked lax. Available in 3 different breakfast options. But for the money you should, above all, get your bread completely filled. Everything tastes really great and is served great.
