Kitti Chai in Wuppertal

I ordered via Uber Eats on August 17, 2025. The food arrived quickly, but I was very disappointed. I was looking forward to fried noodles. But it was an expensive vegetable stir-fry with about 10 noodles on it. Everything is getting more expensive, and then you skimp on ingredients. Never again :(

Poor service, only seen waiting for orders and payment. The Sex on the Beach cocktail was far too sour, undrinkable. When we asked, they added a little grenadine syrup, which unfortunately didn't improve the drink. The Swimming Pool tasted like vodka. Unfortunately, they didn't ask us if we wanted anything else. It's a shame.

The food is delicious, and the cocktails are simply amazing. Dogs are welcome and even get a bowl of water to drink. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can order food and cocktails, and you can even order them to go. The outdoor area is well-designed for its location, and the ambiance in the shop itself is very pleasant.

We absolutely loved the food. We ordered mango curry and udon soup, and it was fantastic. A really nice atmosphere. The staff work with great attention to detail, precision, and according to the rules. From here, we can see a beautiful sunset and feel like we're in Asia. The food was just like what you'd find in Asia. We work next door and always enjoy coming by in the evenings. The cocktails, by the way, are unbeatable.

We ordered... the food arrived after more than an hour. We had to throw away the food, which cost over 30 euros! The meat looked like it was three weeks old. The advertised peanut sauce wasn't included. The noodles were dry. It looked very unappetizing... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I'm in Wuppertal for work and just wanted a quick bite to eat. I had to wait 50 minutes for a dish, and it came with mushrooms even though I hadn't asked for them. The service was nice, but I was completely overwhelmed. The music was also way too loud.

Today I was at your restaurant with my girlfriend – this review refers to that visit. We had lunch together, and unfortunately, my girlfriend had a fried fly in her food. We didn't take a photo because we were completely shocked. She immediately went to the waitress to report the incident and said she wouldn't pay for it. The waitress agreed. Nevertheless, we still had to pay for the drinks, and I had to pay for my own food, even though we were sitting at the same table. I'm sure none of you would have had any appetite left in that situation. After leaving the restaurant, I felt very unwell for over an hour and felt like I was going to vomit. If it were possible, I would give this restaurant zero stars – unfortunately, the system doesn't allow that.

There was a fried fly in my meal – absolutely disgusting! I didn't have to pay for the meal, but I did have to pay for the drink. And my friend had to pay for her meal in full, despite the disgusting situation. I regret not taking a photo, but I was so shocked that I immediately went to the waitress with the plate. The restaurant management really has no shame in charging for the drink after an incident like this. Never again!

Very bad food. It doesn't look good, some of it is cold, and tastes like the chef is new to the business.

We ordered on site and wanted something to take away. The wait time was announced as well as on a sign next to the menu. The server seemed overwhelmed and had absolutely no control over what was going on. The drinks we ordered, which we had planned to consume while we waited, arrived much too late and were then also handed to go. In the end, we waited 40 minutes for two main courses, a couple of starters and fries. The place wasn't full, so there wasn't much going on. Guests who arrived much later received their food earlier, which was very annoying. The ambiance used to be nicer, but it was quite dusty and dirty in the corners. Unfortunately disappointing.

I've always enjoyed coming here, but they really can't do delivery. The food arrived really soggy and tasteless. Not to mention the hair in the food, which you don't want to know where it came from. It's a shame. But we'll never go back.

A pleasant atmosphere with delicious food. Those expecting authentic Thai dishes won't be satisfied here. The dishes are well prepared, but a certain spice is missing. Nevertheless, it's worth a visit. A good selection for vegetarians and vegans.

The restaurant seemed friendly and modern, but the food was rather mediocre: lots of rice, lots of noodles, few vegetables, and barely any distinctive seasoning. Overall, solid, but lacking in refinement—unfortunately, nothing memorable.

The vegetables are prepared from fresh ingredients. You can watch them being prepared. Sauces are already prepared, and there are plenty of them. We were there from about 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on a Friday evening. At first, the waitress was alone, very attentive, and any faster would have been a real rush. I can understand that she doesn't get a chance to actively approach guests. But if you made yourself known, she was immediately friendly. What I didn't like at all was the terribly loud music. She wasn't allowed to accommodate our request to turn it down a bit; instead, she turned it up even louder, arguing that it was ALSO a bar. You can certainly find a compromise and fill the bar with sound, but keep the rest of the music a bit more subdued.

The order arrived cold and the sushi fell apart in the bowl…

It's a shame, this place has really gone downhill. I ordered food for delivery, but unfortunately it ended up in the trash because it just didn't taste good. No, I won't order from there anymore. It's a shame, I always liked the food.

We went there for dinner yesterday for the first time in over a year. Always enjoyed being there. Yesterday we were amazed that all of the nearby outdoor areas were fully occupied, except for Kitty Chai. As we sat down, we immediately noticed the dirty menus. We ordered 2 dishes. A curry that was hardly seasoned at all and a burger where the patty was so fried that you couldn't eat it and it's still heavy in my stomach a day later, even though I only ate 1/4 of it. The waiter was very nice and attentive. But unfortunately we won't be coming back. No longer recommended.

I've been eating there for years and am always satisfied. Both the sushi and the other dishes are always freshly prepared. The portions are also very large (I'm a good eater). You can now even order at the table and no longer have to go to the front of the counter. What should be highlighted is the particularly friendly service. Today Mucki served us. Today was the fifth time I ate something different from Kitty Chai and was disappointed for the fifth time. So far, no dish has been remotely tasty, let alone “Thai-worthy”. Neither spicy (despite requests), nor tasteful in any way. Even with additional seasoning, you can't get the basic flavors out of the food. It just comes across as completely uninspired and unloving. That was my last time today. The food is also too expensive for the quality delivered. Absolutely not recommended!

We ordered there yesterday via Uber Eats. The peanut sauce was not included with the fried rice and duck. I really like this sauce and it tasted good, but there was a lot of room for improvement.

Super delicious food and great service

It's quite pleasant to sit there with all the decorations and stuff and the drinks aren't bad either but the food is unfortunately tasteless and overcooked. The service is nice, but you have to take care of your orders yourself.

Was there today for the first time on a recommendation, but I can't recommend it myself. Got the wrong cocktail, which is fine, but unfortunately the service wasn't that good. We sat directly across from the bar, so the waitresses always saw us, but they took a long time to take and clear the orders. Unfortunately, I personally didn't like the pasta as it was in the pan for too long. The sushi was okay, but also more cream cheese than rice and more decorated than it tasted. But the portions are very large and completely sufficient for the price. Seating could be designed differently, either you sit on small stools or at a table that is too low.

They had the opportunity to sit at the counter, where there is a large aquarium in the middle. This is very conducive to growth, but the tables are slightly tilted - the food "traveled" a little on the table. The taste of the dishes is delicious and the portions are very large, which gives a great advantage to come here more often. The sanitary room is available, there are no queues. The staff is friendly. Prices are normal.

It's best to avoid the store, nothing to do with Asia, only inexperienced employees who have no idea what they're doing. Food underground! Luckily there are enough other shops in Wuppertal. It's a shame that chains like this still manage to survive...

Quality has declined over the years, but wasn't even close to that of COA in the beginning. There is no service, you have to order and pay at the checkout, even if you want to order more drinks, for example. The toilet often smells so bad, especially in the evening, that you lose your appetite. There are now also sushi, burgers, etc., but no matter what you want, you're better off in other restaurants. (Sushi: NOI, MuKii, Mr. Sushi. Burger: Burgermarkt, Hans im Glück, CowWow.)

Full, very full! It tasted good too... But back then 3, 4, 5 years ago, more duck and above all I mean homemade spring rolls. Today they were frozen... It's a shame. And lots and lots of rice. But I would have liked a few more pieces of duck ❤️

Supposed to be like Okinii, but not nearly as good. The ambience is ok, although much too big and bright. There is no atmosphere. The furniture also looks worn and not nice. The service is attentive and explains how the ordering process works. Ordering is done via a tablet that more or less shows the food. The food then comes to the table relatively quickly. The quality doesn't do justice to the price. Some of the dishes are cold and everything was too sweet for me. I have no idea why but everything tasted like sugar. If you want to compare that with Okinii, then there is a world of difference. Overall it was rather disappointing and I wouldn't eat there again.

Cocktails are delicious and totally fair, price performance is right 🤝🏻 My spring rolls were without the shrimp filling I ordered. The taste was also rather mediocre. You can definitely chill out there

After the first visit to the Hamam Wuppertal was so disappointing, the food here was the best for the day today, it was super tasty, easy to use, fresh, clean, everything was cool, I will be coming back with my family.

Great Thai food! The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is very friendly. The food is super tasty - especially the Pad Thai and the Tom Kha Gai were super tasty and authentic. Everything fresh and perfectly seasoned. The dessert classic was an absolute delight! An all-round great experience – I’ll definitely be back!

Were in Kittichai today and were very disappointed. We took the lunch menu with beef. The meat was two lumps of beef strips hanging together. The vegetables were slightly burnt. I'm not usually familiar with the food in kittichai.

I was there today with my family and we ate vegetarian Thai curry with duck, sushi and fried noodles. It was excellent, the best sushi in Wuppertal and especially the cocktails were very tasty. Service was perfect and our wishes were met. I can only recommend a very harmonious atmosphere. Thanks for the great service, we'll be back!

I've been eating there regularly for years and it's always delicious, fresh and served quickly 🖤 Sometimes it's busier in the evenings and it takes a little longer, but that doesn't affect the quality of the food. The price-performance ratio is great and the portions are decent. I can only warmly recommend KittiChai!

Today I had lunch at Kitty Chai with my colleague and we chose the rice with pangasius fish. Unfortunately, the food was anything but satisfactory. The fish and rice seemed to have been prepared without any love - completely lacking in flavor and freshness. We were both quite disappointed as we had been looking forward to a delicious meal. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and we will probably consider another option in the future. We were also triggered when we took a look into the kitchen -

Great tasty vegan food. But why do aquarium fish have to be kept so poorly? They make a bad overall impression.

Disappointed! Duck was dry and not crispy. I only complained about the duck, unfortunately they didn't want to accept it and I had to pay the full amount. Shameless, the customer is not king here!!!

If you are looking for a job and want people to treat you with respect, I would advise you not to work at Kitti Chai, because a certain person who said that unfortunately can't handle criticism. I was fired because I allegedly spoke badly about (that certain person) behind her back and she didn't bother to have a conversation with me like adults, but instead listened to her lovely employees. We all know that if you hear something from someone else, it will always be interpreted differently, because there are employees there who don't want someone to be better than him/her. My recommendation to job seekers is to go somewhere where you won't be treated disrespectfully. 👍🏼

Absolutely amazing food. Unfortunately, we had to walk in both to order and pay and ask the service staff to come out again. Unfortunately, other guests felt the same way. But it was probably the case that it wasn't complete at the time we were there, which of course can always happen. But it was really annoying to have to run in from outside every time to order something or want to pay

The store was empty and we were the only ones... Food delicious as always... only the cocktails served all seem to be non-alcoholic... drank 5 of them and still no trace of alcohol... Food is a clear yes, alcoholic drinks are a clear no.

When we are in Wuppertal, we like to eat there. The food is always delicious. Unfortunately the service wasn't so good last time. The order was quick and the food came quickly. One meal was wrong but was replaced relatively quickly. Unfortunately, the service was no longer noticeable. There was no more demand for drinks, the empty plates were not cleared away, not even at the next table…

Today we spontaneously went for kitty chai with my wife. First of all, the tables were all dirty and were only cleaned after requesting. Then ordered food and drinks. Normally you get the drinks shortly afterwards but no, the drinks came at the same time as the food. About 3 minutes later the cutlery finally arrived so that we could finally eat. The drinks (a Cola Zero and a Fanta) were so thick with water that you could see completely through the glass and the taste only tasted like water. The meal (2x Chesseburgers with sweet potatoes) tasted absolutely nothing like anything, so we left half of it standing. When I observed the other guests, I could see that many of them had left half-full plates. My conclusion: I wasted almost €40 and will definitely not visit this store again!!!! It's a shame but it used to be better.

Music way too loud. The rice was so dry that I'll probably still have something between my teeth for the next three days. There was hardly any sauce, at most two spoonfuls. And the drinks? More water than anything else. And then they didn't even taste the flavor that was promised. Never again.

A lot has changed, unfortunately to the detriment, things have gotten worse. We waited an extremely long time for the waitress to take our order (and that was after we went to the front and asked if anyone was coming to the table or if we should order at the front like we used to). The wait until the food arrived was ok, the homemade lemonade and iced tea tasted watery and had hardly any flavor. Food tastes mediocre. Waited again for ages to pay until I went to the front of the counter to pay and told the waitress I was taking a meal to go. She said she would come soon. We waited again for a long time until we didn't feel like it anymore (15-20 minutes) and just wanted to leave the store. On the way out, the waitress sits casually with visitors and chats. I went to her and complained that the service today was very poor, right from the start, and that it was not customer friendly to make the customer wait so long to pack up the food even though the customer wanted to leave. She just looked at me annoyed and there was no reaction at all. Absolutely unprofessional. We will never enter the store again.

The food actually tastes the same in every Kitti Chai, so you can never complain in that regard. Visually there is nothing wrong. Unfortunately it always took forever until someone from the staff came. And I ate there alone during the week, so it was very clear.

It was very, very tasty there. The service was friendly and special requests were taken into account. The food was appetizingly prepared and the portions were generous. I highly recommend it.

The mango curry was good, unfortunately the fried foods were dripping with fat and the fried rice was also very greasy. That can certainly be done better. The interior seems very run down and the smell from the toilets leaves a lot to be desired. I was also disappointed with the service. So there was no response to the request to pay. As it turned out after a long wait, you had to go to the bar. Of course, you had to wait there again because drinks were being mixed. That was pretty unfortunate and could certainly have been resolved differently.

The food is very good. You can't complain about the price either. The fresh lemonades also taste delicious. The staff does what they can, is completely understaffed. I think it's very sporty to use it inside and outside with two people. The furniture urgently needs to be overhauled or replaced. All in all still ok

TERRIBLE.. !!! Unfortunately one star is mandatory...!!! I visited the store for the first time today and ordered food to take away and was looking forward to Thai cuisine... THE FOOD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THAI CUISINE. The waitress was super nice and helpful, but I was surprised that there was no Asian-looking chef in the open kitchen, more southern. To eat: Geang Leung Soup lacked the typical Thai taste and had far too much ginger flavor and tasted more like dishwater, sorry but I'm serious.👎 ...then the spring rolls and wonton dumplings were frozen goods and had neither taste nor definable content and were fried for too long.👎 Main course 1x baked pasta with duck and 1x Curry Story with duck. The noodles were ok, but the taste was nothing like Thai cuisine.👎 For my curry story I chose green curry and was told (by the nice Italian waitress) that it was very spicy, but that wasn't the case at all, on the contrary it was very bland. The sauce was watery, had no coke taste and cream or milk was used instead of coconut milk. The vegetables, zucchini, sugar beans and peppers were warmed up but still raw and came closer to Mediterranean cuisine and, to be honest, not edible for me.👎 Now the coronation, the duck served on both main courses each consisted of 5 measly slices and was dead-baked. I've never had such a dry duck breast in my mouth...!!!👎 For me, the entire concept has nothing to do with great Thai cuisine. If you want Asian food, you should give this restaurant a wide berth. I'm very sorry to give such a damning verdict, but anything else would be a lie. Conclusion: NEVER AGAIN...!!!👎👎👎

I've been coming here for years, and in principle you feel comfortable here. However, the service and the taste of the food have deteriorated significantly. The counter staff is very clumsy at the moment and when I pointed out that the food tasted absolutely boring and bland, all I got was "then use salt..." Are we ready to “iron” everything in the kitchen with salt? So it can be a little more demanding...

Danger! Plastic particles in food

The Resturant Kitti Chai is very modern and the homemade ice tea is recommended. There is seating inside and outside. The service was nice and helpful. The toilets are clean.

Didn't eat here. Had a cocktail. The tables were really dirty and the waitresses came less often than the bus in the country after 11pm on weekdays...

Was always my favorite restaurant. Now with the new system everything is bad. You can no longer order in front, you have to!!! order at the table. Eating takes a really long time. You will be forgotten. Bad service. Very unfortunate. Everything was better back then. You don't always have to change everything, especially if it's getting worse!!

The food was delicious and the prices were very good for the quality. The location is also nice. I would like to come more often, but the music is very relaxing and also much too loud. It's bothered me several times and today I noticed another person asking if it could be quieter. Can't you just play some quieter background music instead of the loud party music? I can well imagine that the music scares several people away from a cozy meal at your place.

The Asian food is simply delicious, it is prepared in an open kitchen. The selection of food and drinks is large. The cocktails are delicious and really cheap at happy hour. You have to order and pay at the checkout. The food will then be brought to the table later.

I dint like the food but the ambience and service was great. We ordered two different dishes Thai curry and Glassnudeln mit curry and both tasted the same including the veggies were the same. However, the drink was good.

Top, top, top! The atmosphere is wonderful, I come here especially on weekends for lunch and I am always served by a very attentive and friendly waitress. The food is equally fantastic. One star deducted because there is unfortunately only a very small (but delicious) number of desserts. The new table service is all the more reason to come in the evening and enjoy the many cocktails 🙌🏻

Ambience is pleasant. The service staff was friendly. The chef was very unpleasant and very rude and unreasonable. I ordered a tom kha gai soup and got something else. I also noted that the cook may have made a mistake. I then let the soup go back and the cook picked it up and about 10m further on I heard him calling me an idiot. Since I have no idea what the soup should look like and taste like. (4x4 week vacation in Thailand and my wife is Thai and I am a chef myself so I presume to have a bit of knowledge).

DO NOT ORDER SUSHI THERE! Was there a few days ago and ordered flat rice noodles in peanut sauce with duck. Unfortunately there were very few pieces of duck on it. The sushi was a complete disaster and far too overpriced for the quality. The ambience is nice, the employees are okay. Please improve your sushi🙄

I am very satisfied with the food, which tastes incredibly delicious and can be refined with different sweet and sour or spicy sauces. The waitresses are all friendly and well organized. The ambience seems exotic and you have the feeling that you are actually traveling in Asia.

I have to say the food is good. Not an explosion in terms of taste, but not a catastrophe either. Reasonable for the price. But service was rather poor. The man at the counter was incredibly rude. Everywhere it says “lunch menu until 5 p.m.” but they didn’t want to serve us any at 4 p.m. Apparently it was changed to 3 p.m. If you were service-oriented, you would either have changed the times on the board or someone would have been able to meet you. The sauces on the table seem old and extremely unclean. Cocktails are good but Cola and Co are mixed with water and thousands of ice cubes. Oh well

I ordered rice noodles with duck and saw dry everywhere and vegetables weren't cooked yet, drinks taste strange. I've never experienced anything like that in my life, a 1 star rating, the atmosphere here is unpleasant.

A fairly centrally located Thai restaurant, right next to a parking garage. Wide selection of dishes with pasta or rice, vegetarian or with chicken, fish or beef. There are also some non-alcoholic beers on the menu. I had a very tasty Pad Thai with chicken and apple spritzer. The service seemed to be under a bit of time pressure, but it brought our food quite quickly and answered questions in a friendly manner. The loud pop music is probably aimed at a younger audience, but it didn't put us off. :) Pretty decoration with colorful fabric-covered lamps on the ceiling.

Service was really bad today. I was standing at the checkout and wanted to place my order, a lady standing there didn't pay attention to me until I asked her if she could take my order. She accepted it very unintentionally. The food was also better. We will never eat there again.

The food is delicious and you don't have to wait long - once you order. You have to do that at the checkout, no one comes to the table. But then the food is brought. The whole thing is probably called semi-service, unfortunately there was no relevant information about it during our visit. The music was annoying, but we don't belong to the young target group.

Leider hatten wir zwei sehr unschöne Erlebnisse in Wuppertal und sind seitdem keine Gäste mehr. Beim ersten Mal wurde auf einen anaphylaktischen Schock mit einem: "Ja und was soll ich jetzt tun?" - reagiert, obwohl man vor der Bestellung mehrfach betonte, auf was geachtet werden musste. Wir gaben dem Laden noch eine Chance. Beim zweiten Mal bekamen wir dann unsere Veggie Reispapierrollen mit Hähnchen. Die Reklamation erfolgte und kam wieder mit Hähnchen. Eine erneute Reklamation wurde mit Augenrollen und einem "Da kann kein Hähnchen drin sein" entgegen genommen. Am Ende musste man sich dann eingestehen, dass jemand die Behälter vertauscht hatte. Geld wollte man uns erst nicht zurück geben - statt dessen bat man uns einen Cocktail aufs Haus an (Der nebenbei erwähnt günstiger war als die Rollen.). Erst nach erneuter Aufforderung gab's mit sehr schlechter Miene das Geld zurück. Nachtrag: Ich habe es mangels Alternativen nach über einem Jahr nochmal versucht. Leider wieder mit Enttäuschung und man hat es mal wieder nicht geschafft mein Essen so zuzubereiten wie ich es bestellt habe. Diesmal hab ich es immerhin direkt an der Farbe des Essens gemerkt und dank Reklamation keine Anaphylaxe bekommen. Reicht dann auch für die Zukunft mit den Chancen. 👍

Das Essen ist lecker und die Getränke gut bis sehr gut . Teils ist die Musik so laut das man seinen Tischnachbarn kaum hören kann .

Bin sehr oft und sehr gerne hier. Heute hat uns ein südländischer Herr bedient.. super nett, zuvorkommend und freundlich! Selten so nette Bedienung erlebt! Das Essen war auch super lecker wie immer. Sehr große Portionen und toller Geschmack. Schade nur, dass die Preise teurer geworden sind.

A nice and cosy place with high quality food. Just make sure you get the right order when ordering several foods with friends, they delivered the wrong burger to me, not a big deal though.

Everything was nice, but I didn't enjoy it as much. But everything was well. But that could be due to my taste buds as a foodie. The service was different, and it made sense as you had to get the food yourself. It was a great experience overall.

Schnell, freundlich und gut. Wie immer einen Abstecher wert. Neuer Eintrag: Hatte zuerst meine Bedenken, weil nur eine einzige Servicekraft vor Ort. Bestellung annehmen, servieren und abräumen. Respekt an die stets freundliche Dame, wie sie das gerockt hat 👍👍
