Kinjo Sushi & Grill in Bad Dürkheim

Very tasty sushi, fast service and a really detailed interior.

Unfortunately, the food (MS2 sushi, appetizer platter, and other dishes) was not tasty at all. We also had to wait quite a long time for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the value for money was very poor.

My wife and I have been there twice in the last two weeks, and I have to say it was excellent. We tried various Asian dishes, and in our opinion, they couldn't be prepared any better. The food is SUPER TASTY AND SO WELL-BEING. The wine was very good. Service was fast, attentive, and friendly. Very nice ambiance. SUPERB value for money 👏👏👏👏👏

Simply fantastic Food Service Atmosphere Absolutely fair value for money. There's nothing more to say. Repeat offender 2 weeks later... everything was at the same very high level as the first visit. Grilled Salmon Teriyaki was once again a dream: the salmon was grilled to perfection, the teriyaki sauce was amazing, heavy but good, and the Sushi Mix Salmon Lovers, as before, was a delicious appetizer for two.

We come here often, both as a couple and with friends, and are always very satisfied. It's also ideal for larger groups and birthday celebrations. The ambiance is very well-maintained, and the staff are extremely friendly.

We stumbled upon it quite by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is large, but this isn't a problem. It seems a bit dark at first, as black is the predominant color, but it's very harmonious. The decor is very pleasantly modern and fits very well. The often-mentioned homemade lemonades are really very good. We had sushi and were very impressed by the quality. It's fresh and imaginatively presented (if you want more, they even serve it for several people in a boat – a great idea). The taste was really good and the seasoning was pleasant. I chose the fried sushi because I was curious and was not disappointed at all. As for the prices – of course, good sushi is a bit more expensive, but here the price-performance ratio is absolutely right. Overall, a very worthwhile visit, one we would happily repeat.

I always enjoy going there. Prices aren't the cheapest, but the food is very good and served promptly, even when the restaurant is full. The service is always very friendly. The dining area is beautifully designed, and there's a wide selection.

The menu language was truly modern and appealing. The quality of the ingredients used was first-class; you could really tell how fresh the ingredients were while eating. The food itself was always fresh, and the sushi/nigiri we ordered was really good. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived, the place was already quite full, so we had to accept a bit of a wait. Despite this challenge, the staff took their time. Overall, I have to say we had a wonderful and enjoyable evening there. It's definitely worth a visit. I can really recommend it.

I can only say that I spend less money at a regular, upscale restaurant and still get more food. I found the noise level to be very loud. Anyone who comes here and wants to fill themselves up should definitely expect a higher budget.

You can forget about it; apart from the sushi, nothing tastes good. My wife had a rib-eye steak for 32 euros. The meat had nothing to do with a rib-eye steak. The meat was riddled with tendons and flexors and was as tough as soup meat. It wasn't even discount store quality. I myself had udon noodles, which had nothing to do with Asian cuisine; the udon noodles at Globus taste three times better. When we complained to the service, they simply said they would pass it on to the kitchen. There was no response from the kitchen. I would also recommend providing guests with a steak knife with their steaks, rather than having to ask for one. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

We were there last night, and it was a total disaster. First, we had to wait 40 minutes for someone to come and take our order, and then it took almost 90 minutes for the food to arrive. Okay, it was busy, but they should hire someone else. In my opinion, everything is very expensive, too—a lot of money for relatively small portions.

New spot that we tried in Bad Durkheim. Although not wholly Japanese, the fish was very fresh and tasty. Service and food delivery took a minute, but we were satisfied with the quality and taste. One drink was missing a key ingredient, but we did not want to make a fuss about it.

One of our absolute favorite restaurants! The sushi tastes fantastically fresh, the wines are super aromatic, and we've never been turned away, whether it's 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. on a weekday. The food has always been delicious!

We were actually satisfied. The appetizer was very good. Unfortunately, my main course, the rack of lamb, was a bit tough in all three pieces, but the flavor was very good. When we complained after the meal, the waitress's response—she said it was down to the kitchen—wasn't entirely satisfactory. But we will be back.

Highly recommended. Fantastic menu. Delicious dishes. They adapt the starters if you're with a larger group and want to share. Beautifully presented and delicious (wok) dishes. In short, there's something for everyone here. Worth a visit if you're near Bad Dürkheim. Good and friendly service. Lovely large terrace.

Delicious food and friendly service

Four of us went to Kinjo for sushi on my birthday. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very attentive, and we had to signal for attention several times to order something. We had two appetizer platters for two people each: one of fried noodles with duck, and the sushi platter for four people. This arrived after quite some time, with steaming dry ice and much fanfare, on a small wooden boat. However, we would have appreciated more sushi for the money instead of the extras. Despite the appetizer and the large sushi platter, each of us was still hungry at the end. The sushi was fresh and delicious, but the value for money was absolutely not right for us. If I'm spending almost fifty euros per person on food, I should expect to be full afterward. All in all, a very nicely decorated place with good-quality food, but there's definitely room for improvement in terms of value and service. I will therefore not be paying Kinjo another visit.

We chose this restaurant based on the many excellent reviews. However, the evening ended disappointingly. We reserved a table for five people, but unfortunately, a reservation on the terrace wasn't possible. Luckily, we managed to get a table outside in the shade, despite the 32-degree heat. We had a dog with us, but that wasn't a problem. We ordered appetizer platters for four people, then each had a sushi platter for four people. One of us had noodles with duck. Unfortunately, we left the restaurant hungry, especially after spending €261 for five people, or more than €50 each. The sushi was finely crafted, but unfortunately not good, and far too expensive. (Some of the rice was hard on the inside, some too hard, some too soft, unfortunately, making some of it inedible. I would have preferred rice with the sashimi, but it wasn't served with it. The service was quick and attentive. Unfortunately, we can't recommend the overall package and won't be returning. The restaurant has a lot of potential, a beautiful location, and a coherent concept, but the execution is lacking. Cheerio Best regards

A really very fine restaurant with a varied menu and very tasty dishes! You will find familiar things with a sometimes exciting and different flavor and plenty of new dishes that take the palate on an exciting journey of discovery. In addition, the dishes are all fresh and delicious. For us it is always a pleasure. Definitely worth a visit! The ambience is very cozy with a touch of modernity, even if it seems a bit dark. But that's purely a matter of taste. The team is always very friendly and committed to leaving a lasting positive impression, not just in terms of cuisine! We are already looking forward to the next visit, thank you very much!

The Kinjo in Bad Dürkheim has made a name for itself, not only because of its central location, but above all because of its reputation for offering high-quality sushi. This impression was definitely confirmed during my visit, although the price is correspondingly higher than other sushi restaurants in the area. The ambience at Kinjo is stylish and modern. The furnishings are tasteful and the lighting creates a pleasant atmosphere that is suitable for an intimate dinner for two or a sophisticated evening with friends. The service was attentive and professional without being intrusive. You could tell that the emphasis here is on an upscale restaurant experience. Now to the heart of the matter: the sushi. The selection on the menu is diverse and offers both classic rolls and creative own creations. The freshness of the fish was impressive, and the preparation of each piece of sushi demonstrated craftsmanship. The flavors were delicately balanced and the presentation of the food was also very appealing. You could taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. I particularly remember [here you could mention specific nigiri, maki or other dishes if you have preferences or you want me to make up details]. However, it must be made clear that Kinjo is not a restaurant for those on a budget. The prices for the individual dishes are noticeably higher than in other sushi restaurants in Bad Dürkheim. So if you're looking for a cheap sushi evening, you probably won't find it here. In my opinion, the higher price level is reflected in the quality of the ingredients, the preparation, the ambience and the service. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves whether this surcharge is justified. But for special occasions or if you're willing to spend a little more for excellent sushi, Kinjo is definitely a very good choice. Conclusion: The Kinjo in Bad Dürkheim offers a high-quality sushi experience in a stylish ambience with attentive service. The quality of the food is excellent, but this comes with a higher price. Anyone who is prepared to pay more for first-class sushi will certainly not be disappointed here. However, for price-conscious sushi lovers, there may be cheaper alternatives in Bad Dürkheim.

There were 6 of us and Myself was here for the first time. The food was first class! Had the Kinjo-Indochina with sirloin steak, it was quick even though the restaurant was very busy. (Saturday evening) The Kinjo Sushi & Grill is highly recommended.

Main meal was great! 👍 Dessert (ice cream with grilled pineapple) ok! Tip: Next time, don't grill the grilled pineapple near fish and meat. Unfortunately, the pineapple absorbs the juice from fish and meat... and in combination with ice cream... not so tasty 👎 Grade 2 😃

Sushi vom feinsten. Tolle typisch japanische Einrichtung im Dunklen Stil. Jedes Gericht ein Gedicht. Als Vorspeise muss man auf jeden Fall die Curry Suppe mit Tofu essen —> Einfach lecker als Starter. Und als Hauptgang ist Crispy Rocket auf jeden Fall mein Favorit! Die selbstgemachte Limo ist richtig gut. Wer gerne mit der Familie essen geht oder Freunden ist hier genau richtig! Komme jederzeit gerne wieder! :)

Great Asian restaurant in Bad-Dürkheim:) All in all very satisfied - The sushi and rice dishes tasted great! We came during the week and got a place for 4 people without a reservation. As the evening progressed, the restaurant filled up, which is why it is definitely an advantage to make a reservation. The rooms are stylishly furnished and the staff was also very nice.

Simply a top-notch Japanese restaurant. Fantastic sushi, very tasty hot dishes. Drinkable wine from Dürkheim wineries is on the menu. Plus, the "pleasant Asian friendliness" and more than fair value. Always happy to return, even after several visits over the past four years.

Service is... well. Perhaps overwhelmed? Maybe reduce the tables if the staff can't handle that many customers. We saw service exactly 2 times, got drinks 1 time and no chance to order more. Even placed empty bottles at the edge of the table as a clear signal, but nobody cared. Nobody. Zero. My pommes frites have seen salt from a distance tops. There was a hair in my noodles. Granted, the soup was nice and hot, so hot in fact I still feel the numbness on my tongue. All in the same visit. Yes, food came exceptionally quickly (this time) and other than the above was awesome, thus 4 stars. But at other times we've met rather unmotivated staff who just couldn't grasp the concept of simple lunch rather than a 3-course-menu. Annoying I say. That day there was *barely* anyone at the tables. Perhaps we disturbed that poor person's idle time, dunno. Funny fact: When there's children with us, suddenly all attention is on us and the service is top-notch. About the atmosphere. Very dark, very loud due to overcrowding, the style is a colorful mix of asian stuff and ... other things that clearly don't belong there. Just a minor thing really, but I thought I'd mention why I reduced the stars on this one.

The food is recommended. I really enjoy eating there! There is plenty of space, but reserve it if possible. Sometimes things don't work out so well with the table, even if you have a reservation. The staff is a bit overwhelmed. But with a little patience you will get your place. Even if everything is full, you still get your food quickly.

Just entered the restaurant at 1 p.m. and was greeted by a service staff that was not very motivated. Then ignored for 20 minutes without being able to place an order. Then left the restaurant. Never again.

Have eaten here many times. The food is really very good, but we recently had very bad experiences with the service. In particular, reserving tables doesn't work at all. Apparently they just accept all reservations out of sheer greed, so on Saturday there was a line of people with reservations waiting for a table to become available. After waiting half an hour and not getting a table despite having a reservation, we left again. Unfortunately, this is how you ruin your good reputation as a restaurant. Too bad.

We really enjoy eating there. The food is really really good, but that's still no use if, DESPITE reservations and directions, you can't get a table and are sent away. All reservations are simply accepted. The first ones to stand at the front or “scream louder here” also get the next free table. Nothing wrong with the table being reserved in a name. Plus, when it's full it's just too much - too many tables and people pressed together.

Unfortunately there is no space without a reservation.

We have been there many times. Unfortunately, the food has deteriorated significantly over time. In the sushi mix there are more and more vegetarian rolls and unfortunately always little fish for the same price. We made reservations early this evening. Since the restaurant accepted too many bookings, the guests who had made reservations later stood waiting between the tables, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere like in a crowded ICE train. Other guests who came after us had to wait over 40 minutes for their food because the kitchen couldn't keep up. At this point I feel sorry for the completely overwhelmed staff, who at that point just ran back and forth quickly. After 1 hour and 30 minutes we were still sitting with full glasses and were asked every 2 minutes if we wanted to order something else. Which was almost like being thrown out, despite the reservation. Because it was so uncomfortable, we paid straight away. A minute after paying we were asked to leave the restaurant (despite a reservation!!). Absolutely no go! That's actually a shame because there used to be good food and a pleasant atmosphere here. It's a shame that Kinjo has slacked off so much...

Very mediocre service. After inquiries after 60, 80, 90 minutes, 2 out of 5 meals come. This is the 5th but also last visit. Really loud, it's like a train station, the tables are way too close together. Plus prices like in Dubai. Thanks no.

Despite repeated requests, we waited 1 1/2 hours (!) for food. Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly and responded to questions in an annoyed manner. We understand when there is a lot going on or something is forgotten, but there was no communication about why the food came so late, let alone an apology. Shortly before we wanted to leave, the food arrived. Food was okay, but definitely not worth the long wait and the price. Too bad!

Wir haben eine Familienplatte bestellt. Sie war sehr gut. Es war leider nicht von allem für 4 Personen Fisch dabei. Thunfisch und ein anderer Fisch den ich nicht kenne und auch die Jakobsmuschel war nur für 3 Personen da. Als ich das erste mal vor ungefähr 2Jahren da war wurde das Schiff mit etwas Nebel angerichtet. Das gab's heute leider auch nicht. Vielleicht wirds beim nächsten Besuch wieder anders

Sehr schönes Ambiente, super freundliche und aufmerksame Service-Kräfte. Essen war recht gut - dieses Restaurant wird aber unser anderes Lieblings-Sushi-Restaurant auf keinem Fall ablösen (war zu dem Zeitpunkt geschlossen)!

Best Asian Restaurant in this area. Was here for the holidays and had to eat for my last dinner before flying home. Had the duck breast in Mango coconut sauce and it was to du for. Also the spring rolls just perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant. Also the service was excellent 😊

I visited the restaurant during the holidays when it was very busy. The reception was friendly and the entrance area of ​​the restaurant looks inviting and pleasant. Further back in the restaurant, however, the atmosphere was rather subdued. A positive point is the ability to reserve large tables for up to 14 people or more. To eat: As a starter I ordered grilled octopus but received grilled squid instead. However, the presentation was attractive and the taste was good. The presentation of the main course, Grilled Crown Prawns, was also very appealing. Unfortunately, the shrimp were old, stuck to their shells, and one had a strange smell and taste, as if it had been washed with chlorinated water. Luckily there was no food poisoning but I will not visit this restaurant again.

I had dinner here with a friend today. As soon as we walked in we were amazed by the atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, quiet music in the background and perfect lighting. Not too dark and not too light. The drinks came very quickly, as a starter we had the hot gyoza, which was super tasty. The main course took a while, but there were a lot of guests there. The sushi also blew us away like the hot gyoza. My girlfriend had the mochi for dessert, which was also very nicely prepared and delicious. The food is of very high quality and definitely worth the price. All in all it was a successful evening. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and attentive. A big compliment to the entire team and a big thank you for such a great evening. We would always like to come here again.

The service is very friendly and attentive and the ambience is simply unique. However, you'd better reserve a table. My conclusion: We will definitely come back.

Best sushi in the region! Excellent taste, aesthetically presented, friendly service! And not only the sushi is fantastic, the other dishes we tried were also all very good. The quality of the food is convincing, we have been there several times and always enjoy coming back to eat. The location is also perfect. Centrally near the saltworks or behind the large barrel at Wurstmarktplatz. There are plenty of parking spaces available. The toilets are also clean and tidy.

The food tasted very good, the portions were sufficient. The ambience only gets 3 stars because it is an open room but unfortunately not noise-reduced, so it was very loud and you almost had to scream. Otherwise it was very nice and modernly furnished. The prices are a little higher, but the food is worth it.
