Been there again after a long time. The restaurant turned out really nice. But the prices also increased. Not justified for what you get. Unfortunately. But still our tower remains our tower. Always beautiful.

Unfortunately the service is more bad than good, sometimes we had to wait 15 minutes to order the drinks and then another several minutes for the drinks. Despite this, the food and the location are very good. The atmosphere after the renovation including the views are also good. I would like to see an improvement in the service.

Top food, great service, beautiful location. We'd love to come back!

We were there for the first time after the new tenant took over. Our fear that our “regular destination” might have changed too much has not come true. Although dripping wet, we were all warmly greeted, taken to the reserved table and served quickly. The food was plentiful and tasty (many dishes from the usual selection), and the atmosphere was very good. Every table was occupied later, and of course - as always - it was correspondingly loud. That’s part of it for us. The rooms have been beautifully renovated without the restaurant losing its rustic charm. Always worth a trip - hopefully next time the weather will be good enough so that we can enjoy the beautiful outdoor terrace and the wonderful view.

You can't offer anything other than promise everything top food service ambience

Schnitzel was very tasty, fresh side salad, great Mediterranean starter. Nice staff, great atmosphere. A successful evening spent with my friends. Gladly again 😊

We were able to get a table at short notice on a Saturday evening. The waitresses were very friendly and the service was good. The food was very tasty and we were very satisfied. Table reservation necessary. The opening and kitchen times are unsuitable for hikers, cyclists... during the weekdays. Unfortunately, a beer and potato salad on the “tower” is only possible to a very limited extent.

You can argue about the ambience, I like it. But... It can't be that you don't have any fried potatoes left at 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays. After the last order, the beer was poured from several glasses together. An absolute no-go. We will probably never go there again It's a shame actually

It's a shame that you can't give out minus stars. Despite pre-ordering a table for 6 people, nothing was prepared. Wrong drinks were served. The food came and we had no cutlery. I don't want to make a statement about the quality of the food. We sat for over an hour with plates not cleared away. etc. The biggest joke at the end! On our bill there were dishes, desserts and drinks that we had ordered or distorted!

Very tasty food and very friendly staff. Although the restaurant was quite full, food and drink came quickly... We would be happy to come back.

Ok as a hiker Restaurant not recommended

Not reachable by phone, only a recorded message asking you to state your reservation request and telephone number. Unfortunately no response, no call back throughout the day despite a new request a few hours later. Conclusion: Very bad service!

We celebrated my grandfather's 90th birthday and were not disappointed. We were here when we were little children and came from Berlin especially for this. Very nice modernization, friendly attentive staff & super delicious food. Any time

We arrived at the Kindelsberg today with great expectations. Unfortunately we were disappointed again. There is no toilet paper in the sanitary facilities, the tables are not cleared even after more than an hour and the service is uncontrolled. All in all, not a nice experience. Hopefully the landlords will intervene urgently after this short period of time.

Seit meiner Kindheit kenne ich den Kindelsberg und war sehr gespannt, wie sich das Restaurant verändert hat, nachdem der Pächter gewechselt und es Anfang Juli wiedereröffnet hatte. Zunächst das Positive: nach einer umfassenden Renovierung sind wir sehr begeistert gewesen, wie man den Flair des alten Restaurants bewahrt, dabei aber ein tolles neues Ambiente geschaffen hat. Sehr gelungen... Nun zur Küche: wir bestellten Schnitzel mit Pommes - früher durchaus eins der vielen Aushängeschilder des Lokals. Die Pommes waren gut - das Schnitzel jedoch leider gar nicht. Qualität des Fleisches war nicht gut, die Panade labberich und nahezu geschmacklos. Da half auch leider daraufhin geordertes Salz und Pfeffer nicht mehr. Die Jäger-Waldpilzsauße kam aus der „Tüte“, enthielt keine frischen Pilze und war völlig überwürzt. Von schöner Jäger, geschweige denn Waldpilzsauce konnte da leider keine Rede sein. Als Ausflugsziel zum Wandern, wenn man nur ein kühles Getränk und Pommes oder Bockwurst möchte, nach wie vor zu empfehlen. Als Restaurant, wenn man nur zum Essen auf den Kindelsberg fahren möchte, leider nicht. Sehr schade…

There's no need to say anything about the surroundings and location, just great. In my opinion, the gastronomy leaves a lot to be desired. The ambience after the renovation is certainly appealing, BUT: You arrive at 4 p.m. on a Sunday after a walk. A maximum of half of the dishes on the menu are available and the prices are almost outrageous, I say only €5 for a waffle with powdered sugar at the self-service counter ;))

Just bad and not recommended! We recently went to the Zum Kindelsberg excursion restaurant and I have to say that our experience was extremely disappointing. Despite our mothers' great anticipation of waffles with cherries, ice cream and cream. Our patience and that of our mothers (92 and 90 years old) was really tested here. Long waiting times: We had to wait well over an hour for our waffles and it was only because I complained and asked where the waffles were that anything moved at all. Mind you, we're talking about waffles, with ice cream from the chest, cream and cherries from the glass. Not about a 3-course meal or anything else time-consuming and honestly, making waffles really isn't rocket science. The restaurant wasn't full and there were waitresses there, but they seemed to be busy with other things than looking after their guests. Service: The service was inattentive and seemed overwhelmed even though there was nothing going on. When we asked when our waffles would arrive, we only got evasive answers, like the vanilla ice cream was out and whether we wanted another ice cream. What really annoyed us was that others who came after us got their waffles or other food far before us. But as the saying goes, “The fish always stinks at the head first.” The manager of the Kindelsberg restaurant should rethink his job, perhaps take a course on how to deal with complaints. I would like to praise the old Kindelsberg crew!! What good is a nice restaurant if you don't liven it up with friendliness and good service. Positives: The coffee and water came quickly. But it's no use as the waffles didn't arrive until over an hour later. The restaurant has been beautifully renovated, the toilets are excellent, especially for older people. If it weren't for these points, there would probably only have been one star, since the waffles still came after I complained. Conclusion: We were really hoping to spend a nice afternoon with our moms here, but the long waiting times, the way we were treated and especially our moms ruined the afternoon. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Zum Kindelsberg excursion restaurant and we probably won't be coming back. But I don't think the tenant cares about that either.

What a great clean restaurant with great staff.

Family trip to Kindelsberg again after a long, long time: We really enjoyed being able to feast together again after so many years and enjoy the view. The food is absolutely ok and the service responds to all requests. Everything was great and very child friendly. The ambience is great. Greatly renovated and clean. In the playground there is still the cool "hamster wheel" that we had so much fun on even as children. And everything is in good condition, new and well maintained and clean. The only drawback: there should be more seating in the shade, under the trees or something, at the playground when the weather is really sunny. Otherwise nothing at all to complain about. We thought it was cool.

After the renovation, a bright gem on the Siegerland hiking trails. But can also be reached by car. The food is proven good with small changes and price increases. A hike from one of the villages around the Kindelsberg is also worthwhile if you just want to drink a good beer or just sit, eat and chat with good friends.

Today we ate under the new tenant on the Kindelsberg for the second time. The newly designed restaurant and the still wonderful view are something to be proud of. The service was also nice and attentive. But the food was again only at a mediocre tourist restaurant level. Plus, terribly loud dance music on the terrace. Doesn't fit here! I had a turkey schnitzel with fried potatoes (pork was out). The potatoes were mushy, saltless, barely fried and, on the outside, just a bag product. The schnitzel was also not seasoned and wasn't really cooked in the middle. You can also buy my wife's veggi schnitzel at Aldi. Very bland and bland. The waffle for dessert could have been from yesterday. Firm to the bite and refined with terrible spray cream. I had chocolate ice cream for dessert. Vanilla was out. 3 balls of chocolate ice cream in a glass. Without waffle, without cream, without decoration, without love. The roast pork and the cheese spaetzle were quite tasty. I could have mentioned the bland salads on my last visit. All in all, you can definitely stop here after a hike or bike tour, it's nice, but definitely not just because of the food. Taste is a matter of taste, but we won't be coming back anytime soon.

However, I can't agree with Milly's review at all! We were invited there for Mother's Day in 2023 and I have to say that in all the years before the new tenant I have never been served so badly and yes, almost unfriendly and the food didn't taste good either, after we were only given a day ticket anyway This was replaced again after we had already chosen it! We were all looking forward to the visit there and the food and were so disappointed that it is extremely doubtful whether we will ever be seen there again! Accordingly, we will also recommend the catering there or of course we will definitely not recommend it!!

The restaurant was very busy. I can only recommend reserving a table in advance and we were lucky and sat right in front of the regulars' table at the counter. The staff was very friendly and the food came very quickly and quickly. The food for the little one came first Then our two dishes, the drinks were very cold. Card payment was possible and the chef, who I met later, made a nice impression

After a beautiful climb to the Kindelsberg you reach this beautiful inn. Unfortunately the food isn't really tasty. The schnitzel was on the table in less than 5 minutes. Even the salad took longer. The schnitzel was probably finished and heated briefly in the deep fryer. At least that's how it tasted.

Waffel war sehr lecker der Apfelstrudel auch nur war dieser leider nicht knusprig. 😁 Ansonsten super Service und die Aussicht hervorragend!

Wir sind im September 2023 mit einer Gruppe von ca. 20 Personen auf den Kindelsberg. gewandert. Entsprechend hungrig und durstig wurden wir sehr freundlich, in dem mittlerweile sehr reduzierten Gastraum empfangen. Dies ist allerdings die einzige Kritik. Auf den Wunsch die Tischaufstellung zu ändern wurde freundlich nachgekommene. Das Essen kam schnell und war ausgesprochen gut. Von daher ist der Kindelsberg nur wieder zu empfehlen!

Toller Ausflugsort. Gemütlich und lecker. Grosse Portionen. Tolle Aussicht. Letzte 300 Meter zu Fuss.

Essen war okay, Service hat etwas sehr lange gedauert aber die Kellner waren freundlich. Die Lage des Restaurants ist super, alles sauber und ordentlich. Kann man aufjedenfall empfehlen. Und ein kurzer Besuch auf dem Turm im Restaurant kann nicht schaden, siehe Foto :)

Hallo wir waren heute Abend im Gasthaus und wir sind sehr positiv gestimmt! Das Essen wahr ein Genuss und der Service sehr zuvorkommend und kinderfreundlich!! Weiter so wir kommen gerne und aufjedenfall öfter wieder!!

Ich finde es ziemlich schade, wie sehr diese Gaststätte an Qualität abgenommen hat. Zudem finde ich es nicht mehr schön, was aus der Inneneinrichtung gemacht wurde. Vorher war alles wunderschön historisch und erinnerte einst an das damalige Leben, heute wurde dieses Empfinden weitgehend genommen und durch weiße (Trenn-) Wände ersetzt. Was ich allerdings als am traurigsten empfinde, ist, das einmal die Öffnungszeiten nur noch von FR-SO sind, vorher waren diese, bis auf Montag, täglich. Zum anderen bin ich echt entsetzt darüber, wie jüngere Gäste meines Alters (19/20..) angeschaut werden, als seien diese unerwünscht und nach dem Motto :“ihr habt kein Geld geht nach Hause“ oder ähnlichem. Meine Freundin und ich wollten nach unserer Arbeit den Abend dort entspannend ausklingen lassen, was uns aber mehr unwohl und unwillkommnen fühlen lies. Zudem ein „Danke“ wenn man schon trinkgeld vergibt, nicht weh tut:)

Currygeschnetzeltes mit sage und schreibe 3 kleinen Fleischstücke!! Beim erwähnen sagte der Chef : ich gebe das weiter. Das war’s. Ehrlich gesagt eine Schande für das Lokal.

Schöner Aussichtspunkt, Radfahrer und Wanderer werden satt und der Durst wird gestillt aber mehr sollte man nicht erwarten.

Urig und einfach schön, vorallem schön gelegen. Ein super Ausblick von den Terrassen aus. Im Moment nur eine etwas kleinere Karte aber es schmeckt einfach sehr gut. Wir waren zuletzt im Rahmen einer Fahrradtour dort. Außerdem kann man von hier super tolle Wanderungen starten und dann bei einem Essen oder etwas zu trinken ausklingen lassen.

Ausflugslokal hoch oben auf dem Berg, mit dem Auto erreichbar (schmale Zufahrtstraße von Littfeld durch den Wald, die letzten 300 m vom Parkplatz steil bergauf zu Fuß) seit letztem Jahr mit neuem Pächter, freundlicher Service, gutes Essen mit erfrischenden Getränken und herrlicher Aussicht, mit dem Fahrrad gut zu erreichen (etliche hm, eBike?) Öffnungszeiten beachten!

Gutes Essen. Etwas zu voll an dem Tag und der Beilagensalat fiel etwas klein aus.

Was gibt es besseres als an einem verregneten Sonntag eine leckere Waffel zu essen. 😄 Der Service war total auf zack, die Waffel war super und sogar der Hund bekam sofort ein Leckerchen und Wasser. Wir waren total zufrieden und kommen gern wieder.

Super Service, tolles Steak, kinderfreundlich, ein rundum gelungener Abend.

Das Essen war gut. Ambiente der Räumlichkeiten rustikal und das Lokal zur Zeit im Umbau. Service nett und zuvorkommend. Kommen gerne hierhin.

Das Essen war gut. Neue Gerichte auf der Karte. Bin gespannt wie es nach dem Umbau werden wird.

Die Raststätte wird ab Januar umgebaut. Der Kindelsberg und die Raststätte ist immer eine Wanderung wert.

Sehr gutes Essen, wurde auch rasch serviert... leider ist der Wirt sehr grantig und wirklich unfreundlich.. Stress hin oder her, (wobei der hintere Gastraum leer war, und weitere Gäste mit den Worten " ist nix frei" weggeschickt wurden- vom Chef persönlich) ... wenn Gäste so bedient werden, bleibt man nicht sitzen um noch Kaffee und Kuchen zu genießen..

Essen war geschmacklich gut, Portionen ok. Nur sollte man nicht 3 mal an leeren Gläsern vorbei laufen, wenn der Chef zu seinem Angestellten dann noch sagt "chill mal dein Life" könnte ein falscher Eindruck entstehen..ist ja auch Geld aber sei's drum.

Sehr freundliches Personal und das Essen ist viel leckerer als beim Verpächter.

Es wird wirklich höchste Zeit für einen Pächterwechsel am Turm. Man wird erst knapp eine Stunde ignoriert, trotz Handzeichen. Dann gibt es eine Tageskarte mit drei Gerichten, wovon es nur eines gibt, das dann im Endeffekt so schlecht geschmeckt hat, dass wir die Hälfte haben stehen lassen. Absolut nicht mehr zu empfehlen! Sehr schade, dass es so runter gewirtschaftet wurde 🥲

Nicht empfehlenswert! Aber die Aussicht. Liebloser Freisitz. Alte Toilette. Unfreundliche Bedienung! Warum sollte man hinfahren?!?!........... Es gibt bestimmt bessere Ausflugsziele!!!!!!!
