Bad experience ever! No wonder why they cannot maintain the Michelin star. The price in this range should be good than we get. Not for Thai people or people who visit Thailand already.

One of the more sobering fine dining experiences. When we were there - they still had one star, which in our opinion was completely unjustified. The food was good but not at all surprising, special or fancy - just good Thai food. The prices were far too high for that, you can get similarly good Thai food in many other places in Berlin for much less money. The restaurant also tended to be rather noisy, which made it very difficult to understand the service staff. I wouldn't go there again

Had an absolutely wonderful time. All dishes served were delicious and surprisingly delicate. IT's a shame they are closing down soon but really glad I got to eat there before that happened. Good luck to the team on their next adventures.

As a Thai natives, we were curious and excited to dine at Kin Dee, a Michelin-starred Thai restaurant in Berlin. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. While we understand that each chef brings their own style to their cooking, which we usually strongly appreciate, the offerings at Kin Dee were notably underwhelming. To start, the "family style" food served at Kin Dee was neither well-balanced nor flavorful. The dishes lacked the vibrant tastes and harmonious blend of spices. The portion sizes were surprisingly small, leaving us wanting more but not in a good way. For vegan and vegetarian friends, the dining experience was even more disappointing. It was quite shocking that a Thai restaurant, where street vendors back home effortlessly whip up mixed vegetables or fried rice, couldn’t cater to their dietary needs. The inability to provide vegan and vegetarian options is perplexing and unacceptable. The drinks also fell short of expectations. Not only were they overpriced, but they also did not appeal to our taste buds, further adding to our dissatisfaction. Service plays a crucial role in any dining experience, and sadly, the service as subpar. The staff were rude and showed little interest in attending to us, which dampened our spirits considerably. Lastly, the interior of Kin Dee left much to be desired. While the decor might not influence Michelin ratings, an inviting and well-maintained atmosphere certainly enhances the dining experience. Overall, our visit to Kin Dee was a significant letdown. The experience was the opposite of what their name suggests – it was not "Kin Dee" (eat good). Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Kin Dee to anyone seeking genuine Thai cuisine.

As a Thai native with a deep appreciation for the diverse culinary styles found in Thailand, I was curious to dine at Kin Dee, a Michelin-starred Thai restaurant in Berlin. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Firstly, while I understand and celebrate the unique styles of different chefs, the food at Kin Dee did not meet my expectations. Their "family style" dishes were poorly balanced and quite bland, which is uncharacteristic of the vibrant flavors typically associated with Thai cuisine. Additionally, the portions were disappointingly small, leaving much to be desired in terms of value for money. Another significant issue was the lack of options for my vegan and vegetarian friends. It was surprising and disheartening to find that the restaurant could not accommodate their dietary preferences. In Thailand, even the simplest street vendors can whip up delicious mixed vegetables or fried rice to cater to such needs. The drinks, though expensive, did not impress us either. They were overpriced and failed to deliver the taste we were hoping for. Coupled with the rude and disinterested service, our dining experience was further diminished. Moreover, the interior of the restaurant did not reflect the high standards one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment. It was poorly maintained, adding to the overall disappointment. In conclusion, my visit to Kin Dee was a letdown. The experience was the opposite of what their name suggests, "kin dee" (eat good). Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant to those seeking authentic and satisfying Thai cuisine in Berlin.

Großartiges Essen aus vielfach lokalen Produkten und liebenswerter Service

The mains were really excellent - beef cheek in curry and a fish course. Even though the appetizers were good, they were fairly similar so we felt there could have been more variety in the starters.

Ich war vor Jahren dort und damals nicht begeistert. Da es immer mal wieder positive Berichte gab und meine Freundin in der Nähe übernachtete, dachten wir einen erneuten Versuch zu wagen. Wir bekamen nur einen Slot gegen 18.30. Das Lokal war bis 20 Uhr höchstens halb voll. Das Lokal könnte hie und da eine Reparatur vertragen, die Terrasse ist ungepflegt. Die Starter verstanden wir nicht ganz. Weiche, lasche Nüsse, 2 Cracker und eine Paste ?. Dann kamen 3 Vorspeisen, die alle aus dem gleichen Teller gegessen werden mussten. Für eine Suppe gab es kein besonderes Geschirr. Unspektakulär, teilweise scharf. Als Hauptgang wählten wir die Rinderbacke. Dies war zu scharf, wurde auf Bitte abgemildert. Die Makrele fand ich unverständlich, fett. Es gabe Miniportionen Reis. Der Nachtisch war die Krönung. Wenige Stücken Erdbeere, ungeschälten Rarbarber auf Eis. Der Service war bemüht, Wein wurde eher zuwenig als zuviel eingeschenkt. Die Schließung scheint kein Verlust für die Berliner Gastroszene. Ob die Köchin noch anwesend ist, bleibt unklar.

A big disappointment. It used to be a culinary experience and is unfortunately not worthy of its price level today. Starters and desserts on the menu are unimpressive and unimaginative, the main courses are average. The friendly service mumbles the description of the contents. So no loss when it closes.

I was eagerly looking forward to dining at Kin Dee's in Berlin, as I have yet to discover a Thai restaurant in the Netherlands that truly resonates with my palate. To my delight, Kin Dee's dishes not only achieved this balance but also transcended expectations, delivering an extraordinary culinary experience. The wine pairing further complemented the dishes, enhancing the overall enjoyment. Our attentive waiter with curly hair played a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and memorable dining experience. Kin Dee's has undoubtedly set a new standard for Thai cuisine in my culinary journey.

Very good and exceptional food, good service in a rather shabby restaurant (streaks and paint chips on the walls, cracked leather seats) with unsightly cutlery. In my opinion the price doesn't correspond to what you can expect. The main courses came 5 minutes apart and not at the same time! This is how you lose stars!

Ein wunderbarer Abend für uns, es gab etwas zu feiern, wir hatten einen sehr schönen Tisch bekommen und wurden sehr aufmerksam und liebevoll von einem munteren und erfreulich "buntem" Team mit jeweils ganz eigenem Gestus und viel Hingabe bedient. Die brandenburgischen Nuancen im Thai-Essen waren erfrischend neu und pointiert (wilder Rosenkohl, Wildschwein, Grünkohl – so hat man das noch nie geschmeckt), wenn auch wegen des zu warmen Frühlings schon etwas aus der Zeit gefallen. Das tat dem Genuss aber keinen Abbruch. Wir freuen uns schon auf das angekündigte neue Menü, denn das Kin Dee geht nach der angekündigten Schließung Ende Mai für zwei weitere Monate in die Verlängerung. Wir versuchen nicht traurig zu sein - auch Kochkunst braucht wie jede Kunst manchmal eine schöpferische Pause, und irgendwo werden wir wieder auf ein spannendes Kin Dee treffen, da sind wir uns sicher. Und jetzt: unbedingt noch hingehen, es lohnt sich!

Es war einfach nur hervorragend. Ambiente und das 3 Gänge Menü mit Überraschungen zwischendurch waren außergewöhnlich. Alles leger aber elegant. Zudem werden die Zutaten regional eingekauft. Wie schade, dass dieses tolle Restaurant Ende Juli schließt. Wir werden definitiv noch einmal dort essen gehen.

Me and my family came here by accident and didn't know what to expect and we left the place with a completely different and mindblowing conception of thai food. I have never eaten something as well balanced in terms of different flavours than I ate in Kin Dee that day! I don't know if I can ever go back to eating differently in this moment. The stuff was also incredibely polite and really took good care of us. No glass has ever been left empty and their explanations made us understand not just every dish of the three course menu, but also thai cuisine and culture itself. The wine was also heavenly well matched to the food which was a surprise, as I wouldn't have expected different wines than the stereotypical half dry white with authentic thai food. Thank you kin dee for changing my palette in a way I would have never imagined! And also a big thanks to the chef dalad who really took care of my mothers intolerances and never got annoyed!

I went to Kin Dee to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. The food we had was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in my life. My personal favourite was the Pork cubes! The service was stunning as we got a lenghty explanation of what was served and where it was sourced. The servers were really kind and seemed chill enough so that I wouldn‘t embarass myself when asking about stuff I didn’t understand. Overall I had a stunning experience that evening, highly recommend!

Dadurch, dass nur ein Menü angeboten wird, ist das Restaurant nicht wirklich Familien kompatibel. Das Essen war gut allerdings hätten wir uns für den Preis ein echtes aha Erlebnis gewünscht. Das ist nicht eingetreten.

Experience was ok but not Michelin Star level. I saw first hand some plates were chipped and broken wine Caraffe also. Food was ok but again not fine dining. Overall service was pretty good.

A pleasant surprised for us to walk-in & able to find a nice table next to window (my favorite type of seating). It’s a three-courses meal. We enjoyed this boutique style of dining and specialty dishes. This style really elevated the Thai cuisine to the next level — not only it was delicious but also skillful decorated & coordinated. The staff was knowledgeable & explaining the concept of chef & owners ideas. The food was very delicious with some nice twists & gave it an upscale feel. Super friendly staff & helpful with details of dishes. For us, it’s definitely worth a try & recommend for others to try out new ways / innovative of food. Happy dining ! Life is good 😊

Honestly, super over rated!! The food was mediocre at best. The drinks were ok… as someone who has traveled all throughout Southeast Asia, this restaurant was a complete disappointment!!! Not worth the money.

The food at Kin Dee was some of the most delicious and memorable Thai food I have eaten! The presentation of each dish was truly photo worthy...and it tasted as good, if not better than it looked. The downside was the service...although extremely friendly, it was extremely slow. We were the first table to be seated and it almost seemed like they had forgotten about us throughout the evening. (Holiday over bookings perhaps?) Dessert alone took about 40 minutes to arrive. For those who enjoy a slow paced, 3 hour dinner, this may seem like a luxury. FYI - it is a prix fixe menu which is on the pricey side. (89 Euro pp).

We were unlucky. It was still okay that I didn't get the starter that I had ordered. But then my main course came when my friend had already finished hers. Then the rice was cold, it didn't taste good. Was too spicy. So really not a recommendation!

Aussergewöhnlich gut. Wir waren oft in Thailand. Aber ich kann mich nicht erinnern, so gut thailändisch gegessen zu haben. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Nice place with great food... We went on a Saturday night in Nov 2023 and had the testing set menu for 79 euros pp plus a few alcoholic beverages and a few extras taking the bill to 215 euros for 2. The place used to have a Michelin star but i understand that it currently doesn't. Service was good with a full restaurant but the server was very quietly spoken ( appreciate he was multi lingual too). Whilst the food and the flavours were really great, I'm not sure it warranted good value given all dishes are shared.

Zum Besuch im Kin Dee hatte ich ein frisch verheiratetes Paar eingeladen, der Abend war das perfekte Geschenk!

Ich interessierte mich sehr für gutes thailändisches Essen. Für mich entsprach der Preis für die Kombination aus Essen und Wein jedoch nicht den Erwartungen. Das Essen war auf jeden Fall sehr interessant und hat gut geschmeckt. Außerdem ist die Beleuchtung sehr hell und grell, ich würde über eine Abschwächung nachdenken.

Unfortunately Kin Dee was a great disappointment . Food very average , insanely expensive for this level of food . For 3 people it cost 350 euros which was the only option as it was only one price set menu , in a 3/4 empty restaurant, badly lit , bad music , and you have to leave a 40 euro pp deposit on open table , so no options to get cold feet when entering the gloomy , unatmospheric , almost empty room . Our single waiter was lovely and did his best but really for this money one would expect a much more premium experience . Table settings ,chairs ,seating etc were much the level of a bog standard Thai restaurant anywhere in the world , very low rent . Food very average indeed , fairly uninteresting starters , ok main course but nothing special and a bit tepid , terrible lame pumpkin desert , dry and almost inedible . Trouble is this place seems to talk itself up as a fine dining establishment , with fluffy talk of “ Thai style family dining “ but it really , really isn’t . Beware before booking .

Super Service und aufregend neue Erfahrung mit thailändischen Essen. Für meinen europäischen Gaumen auch nicht zu scharf (ging noch *lol*). Ich komme sehr gerne wieder auch wegen des hervorragenden Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Wir haben ohne Hunger und Zufrieden das Restaurant verlassen :-)

Mit recht hohen Erwartungen sind wir ins Kin Dee gegangen - immerhin hatte es mal einen Michelin-Stern. Umso ernüchternder war dann das Essen: wir hatten hier echte thailändische Küche erwartet wie wir es aus Thailand kennen, dort vor allem von den vielen herrlichen Nachtmärkten. Aber das Kin Dee enttäuschte: waren die Vorspeisen noch ok (wobei uns durchweg die Aromenvielfalt fehlte) waren die Hauptspeisen einfach schlecht. Das grüne Rindfleisch Curry war fad und der Fisch (Scholle) war paniert (Käptn Iglu lässt grüssen) und zur Krönung schlecht ausgenommen (möchte nicht wissen, was da raus kam...). Zur Entschädigung dafür wurde unser Aperitiv nicht berechnet. Der Service war sehr freundlich und die Weinberatung recht kompetent - wir konnten unsere Weine vorher erst probieren bevor wir uns dann für eine Flasche entschieden. Was aber wiederum negativ war, war, dass das Essen schon serviert wurde, da hatten wir gerade den Aperitiv bekommen und zur Weinbestellung waren schon fast alle Vorspeisen serviert worden. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass wir als frühe Gäste schnell das Essen serviert bekommen sollten, bevor dann das Restaurant voll wurde. Für ein Restaurant, das einen Fine-Dining Anspruch hat, sollte auch der Service eine wichtige Rolle spielen und das Wohlempfinden des Gastes wichtig sein. Dieser Eindruck rechtfertigt völlig, dass der Michelin-Stern wieder aberkannt wurde und wir haben uns gefragt, wie es überhaupt dazu kommen konnte, dass das Kin Dee mal einen Stern bekommen hat.

The food was delicious. Several were explosions of flavors in our mouths. Truly a great experience. Everything we tried we loved. Very creative and unique. Probably the best Thai food we’ve ever had.

Hier ist man thailändische Küche vom Feinsten. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, bemüht und sehr aufmerksam. Man hört zu und geht auf die Befindlichkeiten der Gäste ein. Alle Gänge waren sehr fein abgestimmt und das Menü steigerte sich von Gang zu Gang. Wenn wir nicht in Hamburg, sondern in Berlin wohnen würden, dann wären wir regelmäßig hier.

We had twice dining experience in one week as we love the innovative, creative, high-quality Thai food at Kin Dee It's better that people are into Thai cuisine and have a bit basic understanding,i.e, the green curry beef is an mind-blowing main dish to us. The best Thai green curry I have ever had. Typical green curry goes well with chicken and spicy tasting however Kin Dee provide slow cooked beef cheeks with grilled vegetables blending with their secrete green curry paste without strong spicy flavor. A fantastic dish It’s a hidden gem - if you look for good quality Thai good - Kin Dee givr full of surprise ; if you are only into a fancy fine dining experience and instagramming post/story , perhaps it’s not your top choice. The staffs are welcoming and sweet ! Going to expect our third visit shortly 🤩

This ticks all the box of a premium price meal: i get to explore interesting flavor combinations, made from high quality ingredients, but most importantly all the meals were insanely delicious. I‘ll have dreams about the salads, clams cooked in curry paste, white wine… much better than moules frittes!

We had a wonderful evening at Kin Dee. Great food (especially the last starter which was a kind of Fried Pork Praline with fermented chili sauce and the main dishes for sharing). Decent and fair priced wine menu and nice service. Definitely recommended - we will be back soon.

La curiosidad por un Estrella Michelin Tailandés en Berlín nos venció a pesar de las criticas. Ni la comida, ni el servicio, ni el local se acercan a lo que debería ser un  restaurante estrella michelin. el vaso de agua picado, la mesa baila porque se habían salido los trozos de cartón que tenían para fijarla, tener que levantarnos servirnos el vino, estar minutos y minutos sin un plato en la mesa y traer 3 principales de golpe, la comida de colegio...un largo etcétera

Es ist mir unerklärlich, wie dieses Restaurant jemals einen Michelin-Stern haben konnte. Das Essen war belanglos, der Service total unqualifiziert („sorry it‘s my first day here…“), die Location eher Eckkneipen-Charme. Und das Ganze für 300 Euro für 2 Personen…🤭 Zwei Sterne anstatt einem, weil die Wein- und Champagnerauswahl überraschend gut war. Trotzdem gehen wir nächstes Mal lieber wieder in‘s Mai Thai in der Stargarder Str., da ist das Essen nicht viel schlechter, und es kostet nur ein Zehntel…

Unglaublich freundlicher Service, außergewöhnliches Essen mit überraschenden Aromen in schönem Ambiente. Das war der Dritte Besuch im Kin Dee und wird sicher nicht der Letzte sein.

I went here 2x while I was visiting Berlin - the food is phenomenal. The value is great too considering how much food you get.
